Wonderful Cream Tea treat with my friend - I can highly recommend the Posh Partridge - great scones, cakes and sandwiches all prepared in house - cakes to die for sandwiches to munch on and wide choice of teas and coffees all served by Emily and cakes by Murray- what a great team

We had an afternoon tea for six of us as a birthday present. It was fabulous. The sandwiches were all very nice. The cakes were to die for. Everything is home made by the proprietor. Thoroughly recommend this venue for coffee and lunch.

What a gem this little cafe is! Went for brunch with my husband, his parents and our dog, Ember. We were made to feel very welcome and so was Ember. Wonderful food and fabulous service. The food was fresh, hot and tasty - very good portions and good value. We bought cakes to take home as we were full but they looked so delicious we couldn't resist!!! Perfect end to our break down in Dorset. Thank you

During our holiday we wanted to have a real English afternoon tea. We came across The Posh Partridge through previous reviews and we were certainly not disappointed! The food was delicious. We first received very tasty sandwiches and then an extensive range of sweets. What was nice was that everything was freshly prepared and not all had standard flavors, for example a piece of ginger pie, tiramisu and eclairs. And the scones were delicious. Emily and her father clearly prepare the food with love. This was also noticeable in the way we were received. A very nice atmosphere.

Just had the most amazing 'afternoon team' today with a couple of friends in celebration of a birthday. All I can say is . . . go with an empty tummy! Beautiful selection of sandwiches, lush scones with tons of cream and jam, yummy, amazing selection of cakes all served up with a smile and nothing extra that we asked for caused a problem. Thank you - will be back.

Had the best Greek salad outside of Greece and my husband had the best Dorset Ploughman's lunch. Really delicious and well-presented food in a small, friendly café. Generous portion sizes too. You can't see the huge chunk of cheddar in the pic as it was behind the huge hunk of wholemeal bread! Highly recommended.

Lovely cafe, food was delicious and well presented. Cafe is very welcoming, as are the lovely staff. Toilet was clean and nicely decorated.

Had a really lovely lunch today, found a quiet spot upstairs and food was delicious. I’ve been with a friend for cream tea before too, which was lovely. Friendly and attentive service - table service. WiFi available on request.

Amazing little place for a quiet lunch, I opted for the omelet which came with a massive salad,was really impressed with the waitress assessment had previously served my wife and remembered that she had a mustard seed allergy, amazing tasting coffee ,food was just perfect

Stopped in Dorchester for a light bite and a coffee on our way home. We had the soup (chunky veg) and a sandwich (egg mayo) and coronation chicken sandwiches. Freshly made and reasonably priced.

We had a delicious weekday lunch at the Posh Partridge; thai fishcakes for my mum, and soup and sandwich for me, both with salad, plus some homemade cakes. Everything was delicious and freshly-prepared, the salad was carefully made and dressed and the friendly and efficient lady who served us also took a lot of care making our coffees. Good quality, good value and recommended, we'll definitely return.

We went to the Posh Partridge for a Mothers Day treat. There was 6 of us and it was a great treat. All homemade, assorted sandwiches, lots of lovely cakes, clotted cream tea, plenty of tea and coffee. It is such a lovely cosy cafe. Thoroughly recommend this venue for lunches and afternoon tea.

We went to the posh partridge on Mother’s Day for high tea. It was amazing, with a lovely pot of tea, fresh sandwiches, hand made scones and clotted cream with jam. Not forgetting mouth watering homemade cakes.

All of the food tasted amazing and fresh, turned up bang on time, and it went down a treat with everyone with a great range of meat, veggie, vegan and gluten free options. Food can make or break someone’s event experience and with Posh Partridge I didn’t have to worry at all it was spot on. Thank you Emily and team!

Superb crab sandwiches and Reuben sandwich

The staff were very friendly and welcoming it is a nice little cafe tucked away I liked all the art prints on the walls .

A gem of a find…. Dog friendly, proper (and very tasty) sausages and bacon and excellent service. Little details such as enough butter for the toast and the toast served on a hot plate … make such a difference. Excellent

This lovely place saved our visit to Dorchester. We were beginning to think Dorchester didn't have any good eateries having had some poor meals in other establishments on previous days. The welcome was warm and friendly. The place was clean and comfortable. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. We'll be coming straight here on our next visit. I have often walked by and thought this cafe was full but discovered today there are 2 extra rooms upstairs! Despite this we were still lucky to get a table as many were reserved and this was a Friday lunchtime! We were about to see why.. The menu was great and very reasonably priced. After much deliberation we went for a halloumi salad and a goats cheese salad. Portions were very generous, beautifully presented and came with a side of new roasted potatoes. Absolutely delicious! My new favourite cafe in Dorch that leaves much of the competition standing.

After 5x 14h night shifts breakfast at the Posh Partridge was just what I needed. Wonderful service, relaxed atmosphere, tasty and filling food :) at a great price. Thank you very much

Popped in for a quick late lunch & received friendly service alongside a tasty goats cheese pannini, so impressed I went back for a breakfast of tea, toast & marmite the next day. Hope to return soon

The posh partridge team catered for a training course we were doing in the area. The team have been very accommodating on a quick turnaround and the food was phenomenal. We will be using posh partridge for any other course we do in the area!

What more can you say, great place? Well, worth a visit.

So pleased to have found this place (recommended by a local National Trust volunteer). Fantastic cheese and mushroom omelette with a large beautifully dressed salad and a great ham and home-made piccalilli sandwich served with salad and crisps. Also a lovely pot of tea. Sadly no room for the delicious looking cakes so will have to visit again. 😊

Friendly staff, delivery on time. We had an afternoon tea for the Coronation. The food was amazing, plenty of choice with a good mix of vegetarian included. They did not skimp on the amount supplied either. I would recommend them.

We came in here on a blustery Saturday lunch time for a bite to eat . Were we disappointed?? No no no The food was outstanding, the coffee was delicious and the service was ‘spot on’ . Wish I lived in Dorchester as this would be my local eatery : Thank you for a very enjoyable lunch .

A family run business and its excellent!! Superb service, a menu for all occasions and it all tastes great. The small frontage of the premise is deceiving as there is an upstairs with more tables. Light snack or something more substantial, they will cater for any appetite.

Lovely little place (with plenty of seating) we stopped at, on our way back from Devon, food was delicious, we had toasted sandwiches which were gorgeous, and a warm sweet scone with cream & jam, i bought a cheese scone to take away for later - that was delicious too, would highly recommend this place, and the homemade cakes looked delightful

Delicious food at reasonable prices and you don't have to break your diet to eat here. Well placed in the centre of town. Park behind Waitrose or at the top o town car Park.

Friendly, prompt and courteous service. Felt welcomed and given space for good, long conversation. Good drinks options. Eggs Benedict were great and friends full English breakfast got great marks and changes to listed items were easily accommodated.

Tiny little cafe but at the same time loads of seating! Really friendly staff and the cream tea was the best I've ever had! A cream tea was less than £10 and you get two huge scones and a bowl full of jam and cream! So so delicious! I will most certainly be returning to try other things on the menu!!!

I can't recommend this cafe/restaurant enough. The food was delicious. I ordered ceaser salad, considering its my go to meal when out & about on sunny days, it tells you alot that it was the best I've ever had. My friend & I thought we'd have a small snack for lunch with a side of chips, ha!!! Wow!! Didn't really need the chips & although they were delicious we just couldn't eat them. Lovely people, delicious food, I would highly recommend a visit

Lovely little place with really nice food coffee and staff. Proper little cafe run by genuine people. They also do booked afternoon teas etc. Price was good and I could barely eat half a breakfast omelette... and I can usually handle a full cooked.

My wife and I were recommended the Posh Partridge by my parents. I'm glad we were. It's a lovely cafe ran by Father and daughter with good choice of food. As it was hot we went for the ceasar salad with a portion of chips on the side. The food was plentiful and just perfect on a really hot day.

Love this place, it's our favourite place to grab breakfast or stop and have a coffee and cake when in Dorchester. Highly recommend it.

Just want to say thank you to the Posh Partridge. We stopped there for lunch today with our dog and cannot fault the welcome, service and delicious food. It's a shame we're not local, otherwise we'd become frequent visitors!

We just had a delicious lunch, the Reuben sandwich was yummy and the chips were great. The best thing though, was that they wholeheartedly welcomed us and our dog.What lovely friendly staff.

The food is well prepared and presented. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Well located for Dorchester town and cafe is simply and tastefully decorated.

The omelettes at the posh partridge are superb. Served with a side salad it made for a fantastic brunch. Coffee here was also top drawer and service was swift and very attentive. Would wholly recommend The Posh Partridge if you're in Dorchester for a bite to eat or something to drink.

Called in on Friday 24th Sept, in a bit of a rush as our coach was leaving in 45 minutes. Ordered the sausage and mash for me and the quiche with salad for the wife, and 2 cappuccinos. The food was served in no time at all, was really tasty and good size portions as well. Would definitely recommend.

Fantastic place to eat. Amazing food, lovely staff and a big thank you to them as they saved the day when we were let down for food leaving us less then 48hrs to sort food . Can't say enough nice things about these amazing people.

A real Unique Cosy Cafe 🕊😘 Booked a table for breakfast and from being welcomed at the front door to seated was a really nice experience. Staff and head Chef really caring and lovely. Food and drinks amazing!! Bacon 🥓 is the chefs own and boy is it yummy. Unreal selection of 🍰 100% recommended

My disabled father and I booked a table downstairs for lunch, I was assured my father could get access in his wheelchair and that as a diabetic I would be catered for.I was held up in traffic and called to let them know, and I was reassured by Emily (owner) that my table was reserved for me for the lunch service! I was most grateful and we arrived shortly afterwards. We both had huge very tasty omelettes, my father had the most amazing chunky chips and I had a salad with slices of home grown yellow courgettes and pea tendrils, with a lovely dressing. We were not rushed and took our time over lunch, we stayed for coffees, and ordered an huge crab sandwich take out for my father’s supper and a couple of gorgeous home-made cakes as well (none for me I’m afraid, but they looked amazing and having checked with my father later were absolutely delicious!). We chatted with Emily and her father, and it made the whole lunch experience so lovely, we will definitely visit again soon.Thank you for a fabulous lunch!

Had to organise food for my aunt's funeral wake. I live 200 miles from Dorchester, but had eaten in the cafe on previous trips. I rang Emily and explained that I needed a cold finger buffet for 45 people the next week. From start to finish she was efficient and courteous. I rang, as pre-arranged, for the food to be delivered within half an hour. It arrived on time and was absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced. All guests commented on how fantastic the service and food was. Thank you for making a difficult day slightly less stressful. Highly recommend.

Lovely local food in a relaxed atmosphere

We visited The Posh Partridge for lunch when visiting Dorchester. The atmosphere of the cafe was relaxed and friendly. The waitress and chef were both so lovely when we spoke to them on arrival.The food was good, with a variety of lunch items available on the menu to choose from, such as, sandwiches, quiche, panninis, etc.The location of the cafe was on the high street in Dorchester, so easily accessible and a good location if you are visiting Dorchester for the day.

I took my grandparents for lunch yesterday and it was amazing! The menu choices were great, the service was fab and the food was outstanding. I have been to so many places but this is definitely one to visit. I will be coming back.

Absolutely fabulous home made afternoon tea. So very fresh and generous, lots of choice just look at the pictures! Copious amounts of fresh tea to go with it. It’s worth booking this in I can’t praise it highly enough.

We were hunting for lunch when my partner spotted The Posh Partridge sign near High Street East, what a treat!The lady who served us was very helpful; as we had just arrived in the town, she gave us several tourist maps that were available.There were plenty of seating options upstairs and downstairs, a real homely feel, made better by the pictures on the walls (especially the partridge with feather boa!). It was Covid safe, light and airy inside on a warm day.We were served fresh sandwiches with a tasty side salad with dressing (no curly warm lettuce, and nice to see cress again), and ordered a generous side portion of chips.We got a sense that there were a few 'regulars' in at the same time as us, who were glad to be back after lockdown, always a good sign.

Excellent service and generous portions too. Thoroughly recommend this lovely cafe. Would give it more stars if we could.

We couldn’t have found a nicer restaurant for lunch. A very comprehensive menu, large portions of extremely tasty food, with quality salad garnish to accompany it. A very friendly welcome - and dog treats provided too! What a find this was 👌

Popped in for a late breakfast. The full English was delicious, high quality produce, including home cured bacon. Our host Emily was lovely, as was her dad who did the cooking. Great place, thank you.
