I had the Marie rose prawn salad which was delicious - fresh and tasty and the bread was so good. My partner had the weekend special smoked mackerel sandwich on white sourdough. I tried some myself and it was mouthwateringly unreal. And now he won't shut up about how it's one of the best sandwiches he's ever eaten!

Delightfully delicious!! If you are looking for a scummy breakfast or lunch in Lyme Regis, you can't go wrong with the Town Mill Bakery. It's usually very busy and you may even have to queue for a seat in the summertime, but it really is worth it!! They offer a selection of breakfast and brunch options, but I find myself always going for their delicious crab sandwich (off the specials board), washed down with the most amazing elderflower cider!! Sandwiches are served with a choice of crisps or side salad (accompanied by their homemade salad dressing is drizzled on top). Don't forget to order some grilled halloumi!! It's all very nice, served in a lovely atmosphere whether you are inside or outside under the canopy. Staff are super friendly and they even have a little deli on the side if you fancy treating yourself to something a little special.

Here in Lyme Regis to celebrate birthday for 4 days with my partner. Looked at few different websites for breakfast recommendations and The Mill Bakery was mentioned as a must try. The place is rather beautiful, great first impressions. We ordered Veggie breakfast and smoked salmon with scrambled eggs on toast. I wanted to switch my poached egg for scrambled but was told they don’t do swaps. I asked if I can pay extra for side of scrambled eggs again no, with no explanation. I mean scrambled eggs is part of several dishes, and actually it is part of our order! I didn’t want to be confrontational and ask “why” so I don’t know the reason. I can only assume it’s the chefs being completely rigid in how things are served, and no changes under any circumstances. The food came very quickly, but our toasts were cold and rock hard, we could not cut through with knife. We sat in front of the pass so we saw that chef was batch cooking toasts then resting on the board waiting for orders. What is the purpose of this? It saves next to no time. I get certain things like poached eggs, beans etc are batch cooked and then heated by Bain Marie during service, that’s ok as it doesn’t interfere too much with the freshness. The chef was also handling fish, raw meat, salad, herbs and bread. In an open kitchen like this you have to wash your hands between handling different ingredients. We both have worked in the hospitality industry before, I was a chef and my partner front of house for over 20 years. I hate hiding behind the screen and leaving scathing reviews but I definitely will not return to Town Mill Bakery.

What a fabulous working bakery restaurant take away coffee and produce shop this is. It’s packed to the rafters with not only their own breads and pastries but also top notch oils jams cheeses chutneys salts teas salami chocolates flowers and more. All from independent producers carefully chosen by Sarah and Jeremy the owners. It is an absolute delight to be greeted by friendly engaging staff and the food and coffee they serve here is simply put….heaven. An absolute must in my opinion.

The food was lovely, the staff were friendly, but we chose not to return. The initially told that outdoor seating wasn’t available due to that area being prioritised for those with dogs, but then multiple people came in afterwards and were told it was fine (despite having no dogs). Wouldn’t have minded being inside but it was quite cramped and a bit noisy as the kitchen was open plan.

No kids breakfast menu. Your choice of side with a bacon sarnie is crisps (crisps for breakfast 🤢) or salad (with a lot of dressing). Then they gave my kids bacon sandwiches on sour dough. When I asked for white bread, the receipt says white bread. So when I got back to my kids with the takeaway order, all they had was bacon.

Just a wonderful experience! The service and food were fantastic. We were made to feel extremely welcome as soon as we arrived. We’ve been here on holiday for three days now and only wish we had stumbled upon this little gem at the start of our holiday! The ‘rocky road’ from the attached delicatessen was delicious after a really tasty curry. My wife thoroughly enjoyed the courgette, sweetcorn and halloumi fritters and raved about how good the coffee was afterwards (she drinks a lot of coffee so this is a real compliment) Needless to say, we will most definitely be back when we next visit Lyme. Welcomed by friendly happy staff, sat inside at shared long table/bench setup. Service was quick and efficient. Coffees were good. The food was amazing. The Turkish Eggs were definitely the best I've had outside of Turkey (and better than many I've had in Turkey) - the eggs perfectly soft and runny, the yoghurt excellently flavoured with herbs and chilli oil. My wife had the creamy garlic mushrooms, wow what an explosion of flavour. Both dishes were excellent sized portions that left us well stuffed. Will be returning.

Staff is super nice, there’s inside and outside tables. Tried Turkish eggs (çılbır) which is essentially poached eggs and seasoned yogurt. It was exceptionally tasty (and Im Turkish). Pancakes were also really good, must be related to the flour they used. I didn’t like the tea, it was too mild. But overall it was a really nice experience.

Very poor, was desperate for some food, so thought I would risk it, not a wise move, it felt unclean and the cooks where cross contaminating the food, poor English breakfast crammed on a small plate, burnt bacon and tiny sausage, the rest of the plate with Some kind of beans and 5 tomatoes and a tone of bread. The other meals were bland and dry and tasteless. Even the tea served was dry so there was no taste. Needs to improve in all levels, for the price.

It turned out to be a wonderful experience, with lovely staff serving magnificent coffee and even more magnificent home baked croissant, pan au raisin, cake and so much more. The Mediterranean Veggie toasted on Sourdough was great, snd the Mushrooms on toast were almost as good. Very doggie friendly and loads of space so you don't feel crammed in. If takeaways are your thing, walk up uo yhe Town Mill and see the working water wheel or head to the beach and do some people watching. Stayed here for 1 night on a Friday, very friendly welcome. We stayed in the 'Green Room, a double bed with a large balcony with fabulous views over the bay. The room was very comfortable and clean with checkin from 4.00pm and check out by 10.00am. No parking but large car park a few minutes walk away at Woodmead Car Park. This is a popular pub with good atmosphere. The pub clearly state the you will be able to hear custmers talking and if a Friday / Saturday then you will hear the live music. Best to check for events on their website if you want to avoid those evenings. For Lyme Regis this is great value for money.

Experience started off well - can't book dining online so e-mailed request and ended up having to phone - conversation was very friendly and welcoming. From then on it went down-hill. I have some restricted mobility and walk with a stick. Arrive at front of pub and realise its a steep flight of stairs to entrance. Manage up that, holding on to railing. OK welcome when we got in - we were early for our6pm booking but no problem although we were told kitchen doesn't start till 6 (says 5 on website). Where do we sit - here or upstairs - where's the toilet - upstairs - OK we'll sit upstairs. Two young kids around the bar (owner's presumably) - we order drinks and have to start carrying them and menus up steep and narrow stairs to the next floor. Has an eclectic look to the room, plus an external covered patio area. Everywhere has dirt / dead flies and isn't appealing. By then all hell had broken out in a very aggressive domestic back downstairs in the bar - manager and staff (wife?) - all about whether glasses were dirty - this had started in front of one of us while waiting for drinks to be poured - manager part poured a coke held it up and said glass is dirty - poured into another glass and said this one was dirty too - but then proceeded to fill the glass up and hand it over to the customer. The staff member (wife?) denied they were dirty and said she had cleaned them. As we sat upstairs the row just got louder and louder - and was clearly in front of the kids as well. We were the only customers and sat debating to order or to go. The argument suddenly stopped. We were feeling decidedly uncomfortable - no one came near us at 6 to see if we wanted to order. We decided to beat a retreat quickly and went back downstairs to pay for our drinks. The manager did ask us if there was a reason why we weren't staying - we didn't want to get into a conversation about the the appalling behaviour so just left.
