They only do takeaways from 8 and stop serving food at all from quarter to 9 the lady just told me when I walked in, so don't know why it says open till 9?

By far the best burger I have ever had! Simple small menu, great tasting burgers, fries and drinks. Do not miss this place!

This food is awful it tastes of pure salt and not edible, we ended up binning the product after a few mouth fulls…what a waste of £28!

Stopped here for lunch while down on holiday. Really clean, lovely staff, top tier atmosphere and can confidently say one of the best burgers I’ve ever eaten. Tasted immaculate and the fries were banging too. Really recommend for burger fans 💯

Really lovely place and great food. Quite expensive for burgers and chips and drinks. The one thing I would say is quite disappointing is that if you're dining in they still give you everything in takeaway packaging. Can understand this is probably trying to be aesthetically pleasing but it's not sustainable. Chips could be placed in baskets instead of cardboard throwaway boxes, drinks could be placed in glass rather than throw away plastic.

Really let down and hate to say it. The brisket dirty chips was cold . Not freshly cooked either. .we was hungry and freezing and needed a fix but The Herd didn't live up to our expectations..

Ridiculous burger, wonderful sides. I was firmly defeated by the triple burger, brisket fries and a pint of their IPA. The burger was juicy and crispy around the edges with sweet and smoky bacon and loads of melted cheese. The brisket fries were a huge portion with lashings of cheese sauce, onions, gherkins and a massive amount of brisket heaped on top. The IPA was cool and refreshing, not too hoppy but still with that pale ale bitterness. Overall, a great burger joint that rivals, if not betters, some of the top burgers in London. I will be back and will be better prepared with an empty stomach!

First time in Herd since I heard about it on the vine... a burger specialist doing great things we had to try and glad we did. Lovely touches for me were music, couple of beers on tap, dog friendly and lovely open doors so we could catch the afternoon sun. I would say the burgers were unique! Not your cookie cutter uniform patty this was prepared for me and yours would be prepared for you. I went with a brisket burger and my son a double cheese burger. He positively commented and we overheard other kids saying it's better than .... you know the one. I would say there not in the same league. If you lucky you can park outside or Sainsbury's car park is right there. Service was quick food was hot. Jarred served us he's a cool guy couldn't do enough.

It’s the chicken burger that was the star of the show and that’s what I’ll be going back to get. We also got the brisket fries which everyone enjoyed as well. It’s not much to look at inside but it is dog friendly. The just cheese burger was a bit on the dry side and we won’t be ordering that one again.

Best burger you will ever have!

Took a while to come out but was quite busy, amazing burgers one of my new favourite places for Newquay, a must try if you like burgers and shakes

Good food, although extremely expensive for what you get and the sauces are expensive too. Would personally recommend the Hubbox over this.

I was welcomed to Herd on Friday with a warm smile and a positive greeting. The small female server (Sasha I think her name was) was extremely polite, well mannered and knowledgeable of the availability of products. It was my first time at Herd as I was passing through the area for business and wanted to grab a quick bite to eat. After a quick google search, Herd seemed like my kind of place, and I must say it lived up to more than I could've expected. The venue was clean and well maintained by staff. Toilets were also kept clean, which is a bonus as I often find toilet cleanliness in food venues lack. I was extremely spoiled for choice with regards to food options, however I was glad to see the server help me in making a decision by recommending me a double beef (which turned out to be fantastic)! First impressions are everything, and Sasha went above and beyond with hers. I would simply return to Herd just to feel the positive attitude from Sasha once more. 5* for Sasha and Herd!

We live locally and eat here regularly. Without a doubt it's the best burger place we've ever been! The pickle and onion cheese fries and to die for and the burgers are insanely good. If you're in Newquay visit this place! You won't be disappointed

we went for lunch on 6 Oct at around 1 pm-from the minute we walked in the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful, it was almost like being in a high-end restaurant for service, most importantly the burgers were absolutely delicious, the beef burgers actually tasted of beef and the fries were hot, crispy and everything you would want them to be. We can't wait to visit again thank you so much

The burgers and others were great, and the atmosphere was comfortable. However, the sauces should definitely be free. The prices aren’t cheap, so the small portions of sauces could be complimentary. It was disappointing to be told that we had to pay for the sauces when we asked for them. This keeps the focus on the burgers and makes the point clearer!

For the price, the burger was widly mediocre. Very much overdone, the outside of the paty was black and crunchy. The inside was dry. We are talking about £22 for two burgers and chips, and the burger needs to be very good for that price point. It is very disappointing, to get a product which was dry, and lackluster. Very dissapointing, borderline demand refund territory.

We ordered this to pick up and when we got back it was still piping hot after the 30 minute drive home. We got two Herd Burgers with extra patties and bacon. It was truly the most divine burger I’ve ever had. The onions, beer mayo, pickles were all perfectly balanced in a sweet and salty ball of deliciousness. The beef brisket fries were absolutely perfect, I loved the finely chopped pickles and onions with the beef. They were seasoned beautifully. The secret sauce was bleddy ‘ansome. Oh my sweet goodness, I would drink a bath of it. If you’re a pickle person like me, you’ll need at least 5. I don’t know what was in that but hook me to a drip of it. I can’t stop thinking about it. We had both the chicken and the double beef burger, amazing. Couldnt fault the food at all. Very tasty and one of the best burgers we’ve had. Biscoff milkshake was 10/10. Beer also served. Would definitely return.

Went there with the family on a Sunday morning wasn't too busy in the morning when it first opens burgers are lovely we all had a few different one all was good no complaints.

Quite possibly the best burger I've ever had. I chose the double beef - patty and brisket. The flavours were incredible and it melted in your mouth. Services was quick and polite, and I found the prices fair for the quality of what you receive.

If I could give this place 10 stars I would. I had THE BEST gluten free burger I have ever had. Meat good. Cheese good. Bread good. Fries good! The chef totally put me at ease as a coeliac explaining there were only two things not available to me on the menu (beer mayo and melted onions). The two 'normal' eaters felt much the same about their burgers. My only regret is not going earlier in the holiday. Run don't walk to Herd.

The best Chips, Burger and Shake in Cornwall!

Twice in two weeks. THE. BEST. BURGER. IN. NEWQUAY. No comparison, I don't want to hear it. The brisket fries are out of this world. The double beef is succulent (a succulent herd burger?) from start to finish.

Everything was great here we have came here three times on our hoilday because the food was so nice, the service was amazing and we got our food within 10 minutes the burger's were delicious and I am definitely going to recommend this place to my friend who is coming to Newquay soon 👍. This is the first review that I have ever done because the food was so nice.

After some mediocre burger offerings on our holiday I hunted this place down and was not disappointed, best burger maybe even the best food I've had in our two weeks in the area. Service was great, quick, efficient and friendly. The staff are all fairly young or at least they were when we popped in but they know exactly what they're doing and create a good atmosphere with them happily chatting away to each other and customers, just felt light hearted and refreshing compared to some of the more rigid places we've been recently. And they absolutely can make a delicious burger, none of us left a single fry, and we've all agreed to go back before it's time to leave for home. I didn't get any pictures of the food we were all too busy eating it. Well done guys, highly recommend 👌

Great food, decent portions, prices a little higher than I like, but was very tasty.

Had the chicken burgers with fries and cheesy fries with my family and it wsd very nice. My only criticism would be you should be able to change the sauce on the burger for free as we don't like mayonnaise so had to remove the BBQ mayo, but then pay £2 for the hot sauce.

Had a slight hiccup with our order as they had recently expanded their vegan offerings. This was dealt with by our server and manager fantastically. The Herd burger and the Vegan variant were fantastic and beer offerings are a nice addition too 😋

Came here for a takeaway burger after swimming in the harbour, warmed us up and filled our bellies! Great food, friendly staff, banging burgers and beer. Well priced and great location.

Eating at the restaurant, Herd has one of the best burgers in Newquay! However, the burgers do not travel well when delivered! Poor packaging, wrapped in tin foil, squashes and then ends up steaming the bun on the inside. Unwrap it, you’re met with a wet, soggy, squashed burger! Hugely disappointing as £14 to £16 without fries is a lot!!! Then the fries, not in a box, just in an open tray, releasing all the heat as soon as they’re placed inside. Result, like warm fries! Eat in 10/10

we came here in a group of 6 on a short holiday and honestly this place was the best part of the holiday. food was incredible and the staff seemed so kind and genuine which we appreciated instantly. the place and the menu and honestly everything about the establishment is so well done, personally recommend “the chicken” (burger) brisket fries and the white chocolate milkshake
