Great to finally visit this ancestral venue with three Mallett brothers.

Had a pit stop here on way back from Dorset. Proper old country pub, lovely charm, food was very hearty and good. Lovely staff. Definitely would recommend.

Typical food of the area, the Sunday roast. A very picturesque place!!

I had the Malet burger and my friend had the turkey burger, both were absolutely fantastic! Would definitely come here again to sample more of the menu, plus the staff were great!

My son lives in the village so we regularly go to the Malet. It never fails to satisfy, the food is always excellent, and portions are substantial. The venison is a must try. Great choice of local beers served by very pleasant and cheerful staff. A real British country pub, love it.

Chips. This place is great for chips. Not fries. Chips. Big huge chips. Don't be off put that most things come with chips. As chips are what this place does really well. I had the bacon chop, it was generous served with two fried eggs on top with really excellent crispy chips. It's an old fashioned country pub with hearty fayre.

We dropped in for lunch when we’re in the area. Great location, well off the beaten track. Super burgers- we all had the Malet burgers. Good taste, well cooked. Great, friendly service. Would definitely return if in the area. A proper country pub.

Located 6 miles from the Stonehenge, this little gem is over 350 years old. You can feel the history here. Very beautiful, quaint place with lovely staff. 5 stars because of its age!

Absolutely amazing roast, 100% perfect, great to see a packed local community pub. Beer was great and again I’ll say the roast was lovely.

Lovely friendly cosy pub with an open fire, i went to visit a friend that I've not seen in over 30 years and had meal drinks here. Staff was very welcoming, and the service was outstanding. The food was really nice and well presented. A must visit lovely place thank you.

Not just a meal out, but such a pleasurable experience. The Mallet Arms is that rare thing these days a proper village pub. It exudes a warm welcome. With good food and staff who understand customer care. What a gem of a find.

This is a proper 'olde worlde' community pub in a very quiet rural spot, and the food is absolutely excellent. There's a really relaxed atmosphere here and the staff are all welcoming and friendly. Highly recommended.

It was bitterly cold on the day we visited and we had to wear our overcoats throughout the meal. To be fair we are not frequent eaters out,but the prices seemed high for what we actually had,and it was not a great choice menu wise of normal pub fayre. The staff were very pleasant ,but no,not my scene,although not awful not memorable either.

Lovely little pub which provided an excellent lunch when we needed it. Was really busy on the day but managed to squeeze us in. Perhaps could do more to cater for alternative diets, but if that's not their catchment area, who knows. We got just a kind of lunch we were looking for

Been coming here for many years, this is a great, very special, super-traditional country pub, so please note the following... Menu is on the blackboard/s only. Plenty of choices. Food quality and portion control excellent, generous. No itsy-bitsy morcels here. Ambience. There is a great sense of history here as soon as you enter this 16th century establishment. Very cosy. Some of the tables are a wee bit small and maybe too close to other diners - if privacy is what you want. Otherwise, it is well laid out and a separate back room area is available with larger tables, more space. In a nutshell:- ° Fabulous food, good portion sizes, brilliant. 10/10 ° Good beers, wines and other drinks options. ° Clean loos. ° Good size car park. ° Lovely local walks, dog friendly. ° V polite and helpful staff. ° Booking essential (I feel) although walk-ins were looked after. °CLOSED MONDAY & TUESDAY. Best to ring and check as this might vary, also not sure of food service times, I think it is 12-2pm lunch time. Well done and thank you, definitely coming back. :-)

Great food at a traditional English country pub. Just wish the fire had been going. Would have increased the atmosphere.

Fantastic cosy little place with seating inside and out. The chalkboard menu is always sure to have something you'll love on it, and whilst being a local pub in a quiet little village, it is always so friendly and welcoming - staff and regulars alike. Easily the best pub in Wiltshire.

Proper pub, with great beers and food!

Two visits this week with outstanding food served on each occasion. The Devon crab was magnificent - in fact it was superior to a recent crab caught and served in a restaurant on Scarborough pier. Friendly, attentive bar staff made the visits a highlight worth repeating.

Very mediocre burgers, about a serving spoon amount of salad, soggy french fries. Member of staff quite irritating. Wouldn't bother to go out of my way.

Visited on Sunday. Lovely selection of ales and food. All of us were very happy. Highly recommend the chocolate crunch pudding !! Thank you

We have just moved nearby. We were recommended to go. We love it and would like to become regulars.

Amazing meal, had not been back for a number of years as moved abroad and The Malet was full of charm as always, so welcoming, great food and so many beers I wanted to try. All the family loved it and my young kids had the best lunch and loved seeing their dads old local and hearing a few old cricket tales. The Malet burger was better than ever. Just miss playing cricket in the playing fields next to the pub. If you’re in the area or passing by I could not recommend a pub more highly. Can’t wait for my next visit when we move back home. Exactly as I remember it. A proper country pub.

Fish and chips one of the best in England. The beer a local called fined tuned has the right amount of flavor for a beer that is served at room temperature. The people are all local and are right out of a british sitcom. A must see and visit

The Malet Arms is a fantastic pub in a lovely village. Food is always outstanding, and today was no different. I’d say come and order the Triple chillie pork sausage, with spicey mash, but the menu changes all the time depending on what is available.

Four of us enjoyed our evening here very much. Great beer and superb food all round. I had the Cajun chicken with a salad and fries. Out of this world! I would certainly have this again. Friends had squid starters which were given the thumbs up. The fish and chips looked well worth eating. A great meal in a lovely of pub with a roaring fire... What could be better! A brilliantly decorated pub, set in a charming and isolated village deep in Wiltshire. One of the best pub food offer around Tidworth, served by an efficient and ever smiling staff. Could not ask for much more. I would not advertise it too much though as I am very happy to keep it to myself! 😁 A must experience.

Nice village pub, looking forward to trying out for lunch. What a disappointment, I was so looking forward to bringing my family to this establishment for a Sunday lunch. No chance, “ We don’t do roast lunches on Sunday in the summer, no call for it “ I was told , really, every other pub/restaurant that survives on doing roast Sunday lunches must have it wrong! I was told they don’t have a menu, you order of the numerous blackboards on the wall. Another disappointment, normally when establishments have blackboard menus it is because they frequently change what is on offer to accommodate the market resources. Not so here, I was reliably informed by a regular patron that”The menu hasn’t been changed in years”! We ordered from the blackboard and proceeded to take our drinks out to the garden because we had dogs with us. Another disappointment, to call it a garden would be glorifying the word, the American term Back yard would be more apt. The cast iron fire grate and other rubbish strewn around amongst the abundance of weeds does not for me qualify as garden architecture. A garden surely must have some flowers in it to qualify the term garden! The food when it arrived was yet another disappointment,London prices for dressed Crab which was mainly brown meat with a smattering of white meat on the top in a shell with a dismal bit of green purporting to be salad and a few chips was a joke. My original four stars I gave this place proves you should not judge a book by its cover, at best I would give it ONE STAR

Went for a pub lunch 😋 great location full of the yocals! We had to wait quite awhile for our food to arrive but when it did it was delicious 😋 Would recommend it to anyone who likes to go off the beaten track!!

It was a sun-kissed evening and the event of celebration of " Her Majesty "- our Queen of England Elizabeth 2nd Platinum Jubilee Celebration weekend. I wanted to to celebrate it with a very special friend of mine. So we decided to pop in for a drink and a cavery dinner. Oooooo, it was awesome 👌 👏 👍. The amazing ambience, the customer service, the food and the feeling of " come and fall in love again " was awesome. Thank you for your awesome customer service and feel at home feeling which enthralled us both. Really enjoyed it and feel thankful. 😊. With regards to All Nivea.

Best little pub I've visited in Wiltshire so far. Beer fantastic, food exceptional. Proper pub food, great quality of produce, variety and large portions.

We’ve been on the road for hours and decided to google a pub in the immediate vicinity with good reviews! The reviews are true, and we spent a lovely 1.5 hours here for a Sunday lunch. Lots of families, great decor, friendly staff and we were both very happy with our meal choices. It felt like the quintessential country pub.

Lovely traditional pub. The menu is updated regularly so is written on a chalk board in the pub. Lots of locally sourced seasonal produce on the menu. Food was delicious. Service was great.

My wife and I made another visit to this delightful village pub this lunchtime. The menu has an interesting selection of reasonably priced meals which are all way beyond usual pub food and we chose a couple of seasonal dishes. Interesting range of beers and ciders also. Highly recommended.

Stumbled upon this gem of a pub last night. Lovely setting with great atmosphere and a lovely welcome. Good range of real ales and meals. Decided to go for the schnitzel with a mushroom and peppercorn sauce and fries, which was delicious. Staff were pleasant and helpful. look forward to returning soon.

Went there with my partner on 10/7/21. Had a exquisite venison starter followed by a very nice Hake and Chips. Lovely old English pub feel to the place lots of local photos which suits the place, place was busy but very chilled out. Got chatting to the landlord/owner who certainly knows his stuff on fish & game. Keen on fresh local produce, also very enthusiastic about curing and smoking the said produce . Place probably doesn’t need it but would highly recommend.will revisit soon.

A classic country pub with a Great atmosphere and good food.

Loverly meal, (pre booked table), great menu and a good range of beers. Staff very attentive and polite. Pub set out well with indoor tables well spaced and a good one way system in place. Plenty of outside socially distended tables under cover ifvyou just want to pop in for a drink All in all a good experiance. 🙂
