A lovely little place with a great selection of ales. Feels like I've gone back in time (in a good way) to when a lot more pubs were like this. They clearly are passionate about the quality and range of beers they offer. Looks like they do a lot of interesting night events too. This would be a perfect local.

Great pub but barmaid turned the beer sour .She was obviously not happy serving us .

Great real ale pub that's won Camra immeasurable times for a reason! Well kept beers, great variety and regular rotating lines. Glad to see that the new ownership has maintained all that was great while trying some new ideas.

Just popped in for a drink on our way for dinner. Lovely proper pub with a lively atmosphere.

This is a proper pub - good service, great atmosphere and excellent beer (even more so since Broadtown Brewery took over). This is not a gastropub or a Wetherspoons - if you want one of these, walk on by. If you want a proper boozer with some amazing history and the best beer in town, look no further than The Three Crowns.

Still a great Pub, under new owners, with a smooth transition. Seemed to be coping reasonably well on the first evening of the Chippenham Folk Festival 2023: It's a physically small main bar, secondary bar offline for some reason. Punters were spilling out onto/into/through/on/under their outdoor seating, and all were happy.

Great hidden gem, beers are always good and well looked after and always a great choice. Always find someone to talk to or a quite corner to sit and enjoy.

A remarkably welcoming, friendly pub, with an outstanding selection of real ales and ciders. Hopefully the new owners will keep it pretty much as it is.

A true real ale pub. Have only visited a few times when I happen to be in town but enjoyed each time. Frequented by locals, with welcoming humour and enjoying real beers. Each time I have visited have had different guest ales and opportunity to sample and find new favourites. Friendly staff, dog friendly and perfectly down to earth. Biggest bonus off all... operate a loyalty card scheme.

Found out they were holding an ale festival when we visited, so we walked up there, small sitting area out the front two different seating areas inside, the most important thing the landlord knows his ales, knows how to serve them, and the prices were great

It may not be my local but this is by far my pub of first choice. Top notch. The sunday cheese club and rhubarb cider have made me a loyal convert. Lovely staff and such a friendly vibe. By far the best pub for me.

What an absolute gem of a pub. Visited relatives in Chippenham and always try to pop in here for a few pints. The selection of cask ales and ciders is impressive as is the quality of the beer. They have also introduced a loyalty card, you receive a stamp for every pint and can get one free one back when you have 10 stamps. My companion and I managed 8 stamps during our visit, just wished I lived more local to fill it up. If you love real ale well worth a visit.

Great real ale CAMRA pub, traditional style bar with very friendly clientele and bar staff. A great selection of local and seasonal ales, we went at Christmas and had two spiced ales and porters. A little off the beaten track and not that welcoming from the outside, but if you like real cask ale then this is the place to drink in Chippenham.

A good selection of real ales which apparently changes on a regular basis. Last modernised in 1746 and offering a good 'serve your favourite locals first' system at the bar.

Great Ales with a very helpful barlady who always knows what new beer I would enjoy. Really enjoy a sing along with the choir in the back room.
