Nerano Italian Restaurant in Wiltshire

We visited Nerano late on a Tuesday evening for a quick plate of pasta, and were pleased to find this place open. We were made very welcome. The only other table that was occupied when we'd arrived left shortly after, but nonetheless we didn't feel rushed to order and finish our food. There were a couple of specials available on the board, which on a different evening I may have chosen, but instead, this evening, I had a good idea of what I fancied. Fortunately, the menu offered a varied choice of dishes including vegan and vegetarian options. The italian waiters were attentive, pleasant natured, and helpful. They were happy and forthcoming with advice about dishes and we were made to feel comfortable and unhurried. The food arrived quickly (we only had a main) and was very good, meeting our expectations and 'hitting the spot'. At another time, I may say the food is excellent, wonderful, or even out of this world; but tonight it just needed to be a good plate of pasta. And that's exactly what we got. I'll be pleased to visit Nerano when Im next in town, and no doubt will have a wonderful meal, which I'll look forward to until then. Thank you so much for making us feel so welcome.

Tried Nerano for the first time and was pleasantly surprised having always just walked past. Nice food with good menu selection. Service is very good.

Italian dining experience second to none

We were delighted to find this Italian gem. Amazing ambience, great service and delicious food.

Noisy because it's popular. Excellent service, real professional waiters. Prawn diablo was very good, calamari was ok, but mussels were not. My custom pizza (anchovies, garlic, chillies) was very well done, with a good crust, maybe too much cheese. The mussels were taken off the bill. We would come back again.

We have dined in a number of times over the years. Delicious authentic Italian cuisine, a selection of wines and cocktails. Today took my baby in for lunch with our family. Baby chair provided and the waiters were very accommodating - in particular waiting for my daughter to finish her risotto!

The food was amazing. Fresh and perfectly cooked food and the drinks are a very good price as well.

We've been to Nerano a good few times now, enough that I'd say I'm a regular customer, and with good reason. The food is outstanding, without fail. I've tried most of the pasta menu, my other half most of the pizza menu. We have NEVER had anything that was any less than completely delicious. Desserts too. I'd also like to highlight that most of the menu has it noted that it can be made GF or DF (and I'm assured the GF pasta is really, really good!), plenty of choice for those with dietary requirements. Lovely choices on the wines, particularly the Montepulciano and the Pinot Noir for me, yet to be disappointed in any of the ones I've tried there either though. Always a lovely atmosphere, the restaurant is nicely done out, always clean and neat and the staff are always warm and welcoming - nothing is too much trouble, even if you're not only asking to make a meal DF and GF but also are going off menu, they're just always accommodating and helpful. Whether you're dining in or having the food as takeaway (we tried the Carbonara and Tagliattele Con Verdure the other week, honestly couldn't tell you which was better, they were both, well, again, outstanding) you CANNOT go wrong. We'll be back, again and again!

Average food and very over priced, I had the mussels as my starter at it was 10 in a bowl with broken shell in amongst the sauce. The chips with the steak seemed frozen and the steak quality was not great. Long wait times as well for all the food.

Really good but bruschetta was rock hard. It would still go back.

Very dissapointed, having been before and loved it booked for Valentine's Night. Was not informed it would be a set menu so very limited choice. Had to send steak back as was not medium rare but blue!! Only 1 Italian dish available. Such a shame as service was good and lovely restaurant.

Had a great Valentine's meal at this lovely Italian restaurant with my wife. Great service from our waiter Roberto and excellent food. The restaurant owner came and said hello too. Great hospitality. Highly recommended.

We went for my birthday in December and they wrote happy birthday on the side of my plate. The staff are very pleasant and friendly. The meal was delicious. There is street parking in the local area.

Gives the feeling of continental fine dining, but with a relaxed atmosphere, friendly service and great value.

Our first ever visit on Saturday 28th December 2024. A warm greeting as we entered, we were shown to our table and within a minute, had menus and were asked what we would like to drink. The place was very busy which gave it a very pleasant atmosphere, but not too noisy. We asked for a litre of house red which was pretty good and shared some calimari for starters after which we had the duck breast and a piccante pizza. The duck was cooked to perfection, beautifully pink and soft. The pizza was superb, very tasty and rather large. We had a black coffee and a cappuchino to finish and the bill came to £76. Service was top notch throughout. Faultless.

Great atmosphere, selection of food perfect for pasta lovers, meat lovers and our pizza boys. Pizzas themselves were very moreish and the ravioli was the best (but the helping on the pasta was too meagre)

This place is alway packed which is a clear indication they are doing something right! Despite it being busy the service is still a first class standard, with a friendly and polite team always happy to help. The menu has a great variety of choices making it difficult to chose from but when you finally choose the food is absolutely delicious and well cooked, not to mention a great value for money. Whether we are hosting family or friends or going on a date, this is our go to place. A big shout out to Nerano Devizes for filling my belly with top notch food! If you are looking for a restaurant with great food, fantastic service and a great environment… then you have just found your favourite spot!

Excellent food and service, the restaurant is lovely too. We both had Sea Bass and it was gorgeous as was the tiramisu. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Gluten free home made pizza base! Honestly absolutely delicious. I can’t believe I visit Devizes as much as I do and I have never been in this restaurant. The best gluten free pizza base I have had outside Italy since becoming Coeliac! Will defo visit again Thank you so much - just brilliant

Went for a birthday lunch and had the lunch menu. Pasta bake was OK, I have made better at home. Tiramisu was not as nice as previously had. Have had much better meals in the past.

The star of the evening was a calzone that could only be described as perfection wrapped in dough. Crisp on the outside, yet bursting with gooey cheese and meat fillings that made each bite a blissful experience. It’s the kind of dish that makes you question why you’d ever order anything else. Not to be outdone, the pasta arrived, a plate of perfectly andante ribbons with chicken and mushrooms in a sauce that tasted like it had been simmering for generations. The balance of flavors was so on point, you’d think the recipe was whispered directly from an old Italian cookbook passed down through the ages. The atmosphere was the cherry on top: cozy yet lively, with just the right mix of chatter, music and clinking glasses. It’s the kind of place where you linger over your last sip of wine, not because you’re still thirsty, but because you’re not quite ready to leave. In short, this restaurant doesn’t just feed your hunger—it feeds your soul.

We had an outstanding meal at Nerano,the staff were so friendly and helpful, had lamb chops and pizza amalfi which was so delicious,we will definitely be making a reservation when we coming again in Devizes!

Felt rushed and food was bland. We rang to ask to get a table at 21.15 which manager confirmed was fine but when we got there we felt the staff didn’t appreciate. Between start and main little to non time to digest. As a business would be nice regardless of time to be shown customer value, some staff looked annoyed at our order due to time. I think as business it would be productive to maintain as professional attitude no matter how late it is, customer should always feel welcome. Won’t be going back

Nice Italian restaurant with good service. The house red was very palatable and the tagliatelle Alfredo delicious. Not so keen on the sauce on the Panna Cotta - it seemed like it was from a bottle but the Panna Cotta was ok.

This is a really lovely restaurant the service is outstanding and the food amazing, it would of been nice to have some light music in the background though. Also our plates were not warm. But we would most definitely go back.

I took my Family here to celebrate my Husband’s 60th. We have a Son who’s autistic and can’t deal with crowded places or loud noises. This makes going out tricky sometimes but the staff here were amazing! They knew about autism. They put us in a quiet area which they said they would keep clear of other diners for us. They even put a Happy Birthday banner up for my Husband! Service and food were exceptional and I have just booked again to take my Dad for his 81st! Five stars. Definitely a must go restaurant!

Had to go to the chippy afterwards! I was served a very small portion of sea bass for the main meal, and the starter was just a few mushrooms over a slice of bread. I wouldn't go back or even recommend it. The staff were very pleasant. I could not fault them.

Such a lovely restaurant! We had a great Mother's Day lunch here and, even though they were very busy, the atmosphere was warm and relaxed, and the food was to their usual excellence. It's lovely to choose from a mouth-watering choice of proper Italian food, all beautifully prepared and presented. The staff are friendly and quietly efficient. Can't fault it!

I love this place! The atmosphere is very nice, the prices are reasonable, and the food is top-notch. I would definitely recommend trying their pizzas, especially the Pizza Amalfi and Piccante. And if you're in the mood for pasta, their Spaghetti Carbonara is a must-try! The parking situation is great with plenty of parking available, and the service is excellent!!

All fine except many of the bits of ham (Pancettta) in the Tagliatelle Carbonara were too gristly.

Nice place and good food!..But bit of a shame we got charged for a cocktail when my pregant wife only had a mocktail. And quite strange that the waiter wouldn't change it on the bill... So ended up getting overcharged.

What a superb meal we had here last night. The food was exceptional. I had sea bass with prawns and mussels for my main and it was the best sea bass I have tasted in a long time. There were six of us dining and all our dinners were of high standard. The prices were reasonable for such good quality food. We had two courses and a bottle of wine. The waiting staff were very good. Attentive and friendly. I loved the decor. Very arty and modern. We will definitely be coming back.

Best Italian restaurant for miles around.

Came back to Devizes for a brief visit and came here for a Friday night dinner. I was very impressed with the decor and atmosphere - is this really Devizes? Exactly what the town needed. Perfect decor and atmosphere, with decent service and delicious pizzas.

Went for a lovely meal last night at Nerano's. The service was brilliant and the young man serving us all evening was so helpful and cheerful. Food was lovely.

What an amazing restaurant. Came here for our works Christmas lunch (they opened especially for us) the service was absolutely fantastic, lovely staff and the food was lovely. Will 100% be coming back here again, thank you so much. Very rare to get service like this now a days. :) Xxx

A lovely Wednesday evening meal in one of a few traditional family inspired Italian restaurants left in the are. The food was lovely and for a Wednesday it was busy which shows it’s good.

Driven past this restaurant a lot so thought I’ll give it a go tonight, and I’m pleased to say I am glad I did. All the waiters and waitresses were lovely, a wide and solid assortment of Italian dishes but not too many and just absolutely delicious food. The food didn’t take long at all to come out at all after ordering and still had a fresh and delicious taste to all the dishes. Cocktails were also very good and promptly made. By far outdoes the competition of Massimo’s down in the Brittox, would recommend!

A table of 6 on Saturday night. Food was excellent, can highly recommend the prawn and chorizo risotto. It was really busy, and the atmosphere was great. Will definitely return.

I have just eaten the best fish I have ever had in my life and l eat a lot of fish. I ordered the monkfish & it was absolutely gorgeous, it could not have been better! This restaurant is quite simply wonderful. You cannot fail to enjoy the taste experience you will have!

Best Italian meal I have had outside Italy 🇮🇹

We arrived without a booking late on a Friday lunchtime and were seated without a fuss. It was quiet due to the time of day, however the ambiance was perfect with soft background music. The house wine (red & white) were very good indeed and often a sign the chef knows what pairs nicely with the food for those of us who don't know our wine; the food was excellent. We enjoyed starters, mains and dessert (the latter were shared as some of us were full) and all were perfect! The chef turned out excellent dishes, some of which were seafood (fresh sardines, king prawns, squid, mussels, different pastas and even a venison sausage and goats cheese pizza! The meats are all sourced locally from Walter & Rose butchers which is great to see) I can't give enough praise in a short review, suffice it to say we shall be returning regularly for lunch and dinner visits as much as possible and will also try their takeaway option, however, as a strong believer in supporting local businesses, we will always try and eat in over a takeaway. You will not be disappointed with the food or the extremely helpful and polite staff!

We loved this Italian restaurant. The music was very nice and it was a very pleasant atmosphere. Leonardo was our waiter and he was excellent, very kind. We had some delicious fresh pasta. There are a few vegetarian options, all highlighted with a letter. We will definitely go again

Excellent food all 6 had a different dish and e everyone enjoyed it. Nice surroundings and atmosphere. The service was a little slow but probably due to the place being full. Will definitely return.

Thought we would try this restaurant as it is under relatively new ownership. We managed to get a reservation at short notice. Staff were attentive and friendly, shown to a table and drinks were promptly served. The expresso martini was also outstanding. The menu had plenty of choice, was competitively priced and the vegetarian risotto was very good, however I was disappointed with the pizza. It appeared that the mushrooms were the tinned variety and lacked in flavour and texture, not what I would expect from an authentic Italian pizza. This was the only negative and overall the Nerano is a improvement on the previous business.

My husband and I have been to Neranos 4 times and we can't wait to go back. The service is excellent & the food is absolutely delicious!! They are attentive, very professional and look after you really well. I can definitely recommmend a visit...or 2 or 4!!

Tomato and jalapeño garlic bread was lovely! As was the chicken supreme. Service was good from all staff and restaurant had a pleasant atmosphere. If I was to be really critical I'd have liked more choice on the beers, but peroni got us through and there was a fair wine selection. Will be visiting again.
