Piazza in Wiltshire

Piazza is a great local Italian in Amesbury that my friends and family and I visit regularly. The food is always good and the service is always friendly. My personal favourite dish is the penne crema!

Tasteless Bolognese, underwhelming pizza, soggy salad with an awful dressing, shockingly overpriced for the poor quality food. Very surprised at the high rating - would not recommend.

Good, hearty food. Really pleased by the range of seafood options.

My wife and I went to this restaurant for the first time and were not really sure what to expect. I ordered the pizza and my wife order a couple of starter dishes. The food was fast and it was delicious, I've not had pizza that good in a long time. My wife really enjoyed her food and the service was good as well. About two weeks later we ordered a pizza each for pick up and not disappointed. We would go back and recommend it to others. Updated since: In fact, we did go back to get takeaway and it was not as good, neither of us enjoyed the food despite ordering the same meals. Thought we would try yet again because it was so good the first time, so I there, it was about 10 minutes to opening time, I walked in and was told they are not open to come back. The chinese opposite had the same opening time and were more welcoming so I went there instead. Why have your door open for customers to walk in only to be turn away 10 minutes to opening time. A little advice, if you value your customers, at least take the order and explain that it will be cooked starting at opening time. Ten minutes cost you a customer, was it worth it?

This is a very nice place. Great service and delicious food. I recommend it to all fans of Italian cuisine.

El joven que nos atendió tenía un gran sentido del humor y era un placer tratar con él. Las mejores notas. El restaurante en sí es bastante agradable también, hay un montón de grandes ventanas que se puede observar el brillante clima británico a través. Mi pizza (VER FOTO) era sabrosa, no demasiado calórica pero la masa también era un poco masticable... Sospecho que fue hecha el día anterior. Los precios son bastante estándar... dondequiera que vayas las pizzas parecen ser de unas 15 libras en estos días. Volvería pero esperaría una masa más fresca, ligera y esponjosa la próxima vez.

Me encanta comer en este restaurante. Mi velada comienza con un saludo cálido y amistoso en la puerta, luego se muestra a mi mesa. Los chicos siempre preguntan cómo estás y te dan tiempo para sentarte, relajarte y leer el menú de bebidas, sin la presión de merodear a tu alrededor. El menú es maravilloso para todos los gustos, el rojo de la casa es mi favorito y el precio es increíble. Los cócteles son simplemente divinos, en realidad es el único lugar donde pido un cosmo y lo disfruto, el equilibrio es perfecto y se sirve encantador. La comida, vaya menú siempre es la parte más difícil para mí, ya que todo es increíble, servido en porciones de buen tamaño y lo justo para dejarte con ganas de más, sin embargo sabiendo que tienes una comida principal que viene que será y siempre ha sido divino. Tengo mis favoritos, por supuesto, pero me siento feliz de probar algo nuevo, ya que sé que será bueno. Los camareros siempre son amables, nada es mucho pedir, y nunca dejan vasos o platos sucios a su alrededor por mucho tiempo. No puedo recomendar comer más aquí.

I have prawn linguine which is quite good. But there steak is another level.. Service was good.. Its was bit busy bcuz of getting to week end..

Unfortunately, my partner and I also cannot agree with the seemingly ‘great’ reviews given by others. Upon arrival, my partner, daughter and I were greeted and seated but no ask of what drinks we might like ahead of ordering our food. I ordered a Cosmopolitan cocktail for my drink of which, absolutely was not freshly made…it was obvious it had been poured from a ready made mix. Charging £7 for a cocktail and in an ‘authentic’ Italian restaurant, you would expect the drinks to be freshly made with the relevant ingredients. All three of us ordered pizzas for our mains…whilst the fact that they came out quickly after ordering is usually a good thing (having a child with a lack of patience), the pizzas were not piping hot which suggested they had either been pre-cooked/re-heated. Going for a meal at an Italian restaurant with great reviews and stars…we were greatly dissatisfied with our experience and meals.

We stopped here on our way back from Stonehenge. This place was wonderful! I had the gluten-free carbonara. It was creamy and delicious! There is no way anyone trying it would ever know it was gluten-free. My friend had a creamy pasta with chicken (we can't remember the name). My husband had a pizza. Both of these were good. Don't skip dessert! I had the Panna cotta. It was delightful! My friend had the cheesecake. It was very rich and not too sweet, which was unexpected but wonderful. The lemon sorbet was one of the best we've ever had! This place wasn't busy at all, I really hope more people try this delightful restaurant!

Unfortunately we're going to disagree with all the good reviews - maybe it was an off day? Living locally, we'd noticed that this place always seems to be busy so we thought we'd finally try a takeaway from there.  Firstly there is NO discount for not eating in - surely that's really unusual?  Even a gesture of a small amount off the bill?  So that was a surprise.  Secondly our interactions with staff were disappointing: the first waiter we saw after walking just gestured to the back of the restaurant when we said we were picking up an order - no smile or greeting.  & then the woman who gave us our food & took our payment was absolutely stony-faced - not a smile & when handing over our order, no eye contact, no 'enjoy your food' - just turning straight back to the kitchen behind.  Really unfriendly. My partner's food was apparently 'fine' but my greek salad was inedibly salty.  A greek salad is naturally pretty salty, with the olives & feta (eight small cubes!!) but the dressing on this had so much salt that it was way too much for me.  I couldn't finish it. So all in all, nothing good to say.  But this is presumably an exception since so many other people really like the place.  Maybe it's better if one eats in?

Quick service and delicious pastas. The Diavolo pizza was really spicy in an expected level. Recomand to try fto feed your hunger here.

The service was as good as you would expect and and the atmosphere was fairly decent, the main event (the food) was not to my liking, there was so much oregano and a mix of other herbs that it completely took over the flavour of my lasagne, so much I couldn't eat it. My girlfriends pizza was nice on the other hand and we did get some complimentary shots which I assume was for the overpowering flavours

After visiting Stonehenge, this is a great place to have a meal. My only regret is that I have to drive two hours to get here. This is my second time, and Piazza holds just as much significance in my memory as Stonehenge.

Stunning food as always, very attentive staff

I was meeting somebody in Amesbury and we needed some lunch, so decided to try this place. The staff were great, the food really good, and prices reasonable. If I'm in town again, I would definitely go there again.

Happy to have met Tudor and the woman who recommended us the amazing chicken and sun dried tomato pasta. One of the best pastas we’ve had, and we are big pasta fans! Dining on seriously the most delicious food in a friendly restaurant cannot be bettered. This was our first visit, a casual evening out with my partner. The food is heavenly and we will be back time and time again. It was a difficult choice from the mouthwatering menu but we shared ciabatta with a dish of olive oil and balsamic for dipping with a dish of mixed olives. I followed with a pasta dish Penne Crema and was not disappointed. My partner chose Lasagne which from my ‘can I try a bit’ experience was a mouthful of moreish flavours. Wow what a delight to the taste buds and the eye perfectly served in a beautiful dish. Service was excellent, attentive without being over powering. If you are in Amesbury and looking for a place to relax and eat, you will not go wrong in choosing Piazza.

2024- amazing service, I got an order wrong of how sirloin should be cooked (my mistake) and they kindly corrected it for me. Lovely food and great atmosphere. Recommend. 2023 update- went for dinner here recently with a large group over 15 people. Food came out all together, really good quality and reasonably priced. 2020- Lovely food, lovely decor of the restaurant, good table service and a clean environment. Prices are reasonable and food is delicious. I have been here twice and would return. The fresh pizzas are delicious as are the beef burgers. There is a nice range to chose from the menu also. I would recommend for people to try!

I went for a meal with friends and we had a lovely time. The service is great and the food is delicious. Two of us had pizzas, one pasta and we all had desserts. Everyone enjoyed their food. I would recommend this restaurant and it has a good menu which should please most people. I will definitely return soon.

Visited here on Friday evening. First time here and I have to say the whole experience from booking a table to the food, drink and atmosphere was impeccable. Food came to table piping hot (lasagna) and was a lovely evening. I would definitely recommend this place and look forward to my next visit here again soon.

Das Essen ist unglaublich gut! Meine absolute Empfehlung. Der Service sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die Speisen werden zum perfekten Zeitpunkt serviert. Das Dessert war ein Erlebnis, m. M. homemade. Ich hatte den Wolfsbarschbund als Hauptgang und als Dessert Panna Cotta. Es stimmt alles. Einrichtung und Licht waren nicht mein Geschmack, aber insgesamt angenehm und vor allem bequeme Sitze!

Quick stop for dinner after Stonehenge. Overall experience was quick and delicious. The Pizza Carne Toscana was incredible and I left very satisfied. I would come back again. Cons: The complementary Chilli oil for the pizza was not spicy as I would have liked.

This is a hidden gem of an Italian. I ate here for date night recently and the food and service was incredible. The spaghetti bolognaise is the best around! It’s so nice to see a family run establishment so busy- there was not a single spare table! The full restaurant created an enjoyable ambiance. Cannot fault, we will be back!

This is a relaxed restaurant. It serves unsophisticated Italian food: Italian home cooking, done very well. Four of us came for dinner, there was plenty of space at the table. We all enjoyed the dishes we chose. Didn't try any wines, they serve Peroni draft & bottled. And the price was pretty good value too.

Seated straight away even though we hadn’t booked. Starters and mains were delicious and at a reasonable price. Would definitely return when I’m next in the area.

The food tasted good at the time but unfortunately my partner developed horrific food poisoning after eating the prawns and steak.

As strangers to the area staying at The George Hotel (really nice) we opted to eat here on our first night. The restaurant was packed, even though only a Tuesday night. We thought we might be waiting a long time to be served but we were really well looked after right from stepping through the door! It was hard to know what to opt for as it all sounded good. Spoilt for choice! We weren't disappointed. The main course pasta dishes were superb, with a depth to the flavours/herbs. I had cheesecake for dessert and it was probably the best ever - and a very good sized portion! Home-made (as is all their food apart from quality ice-cream) the dessert was not cloyingly over-sweet like most places serve these days the consistency and flavours were delicious and perfect. My husband doesn't "do" desserts but as the waiter brought two spoons, he had rather more than I was happy to share!! All the food is fairly priced. We had planned to go for an Indian the next night - but couldn't miss the chance to return. Again, place packed (people were piling in as we left) - and again the quality was superb! Loved the fact they kept an eye on you - even though so busy - and we felt valued. The waiter remembered us - and the fact we came from Reading. Good for him as he had a lot of customers that night! Only complaint, restaurant not nearer to Reading!!

The lamb i had was delicious, the meat was very high quality and cooked to perfection. The salmon was amazingly cooked, it was perfect.

Absolutely spot on . The food was amazing, all our dishes were fabulous (there were 8 of us) compliments to the chefs Our server Catalina did everything for our experience to be one not to forget. My son ordered the seafood risotto (he loves seafood apart from the mussels) , and because there were too many mussels, she changed his dish with something else with no fuss. Her recommendations were great starting with the drinks, the starters, mains to the desserts and checking with us constantly if everything is ok and if we want anything else. Lovely place, great staff and amazing food!

The food was fantastic. The staff were pleasant and attentive and it's a light and airy restaurant. Obviously popular as it filled up quickly. A reservation for a table is recommended particularly on a Saturday night.

Sept 2021. So good to be in a busy eaterie sgain, great food and service despite high pressure numbers. Original rating 5* Aug 2023. Been back several times. All good until this visit. In deference to my guest who enjoyed their food, decided not to complain then. My main included roast new potatoes, fairly standard and not difficult to prep for each session. Mine however were clearly left over from yesterday and presumably lobbed in the deep fryer and re-heated. You can tell, the skin is leathery and separates from the (mushy) centre. Not pleasant. It's lazy and disrespectful to the diner...others must have noticed. This is usually a good venue.. buck up La Piazza. New rating is 3 star.

I don't do Italian usually, it's our wedding anniversary and we live in Amesbury, I said let's try piazza as the wife loves Italian. On arrival the staff were polite and attentive, I noticed a lot of locals so things are looking up . I have to say from a complete novice the food was amazing. Cooked to order ,timely,hot,tasty,service with a smile and some lovely personalised touches.

Enjoyed a family birthday meal here in June and was very nice. Great selection of starters and main courses, was flavoursome and good sized portions. Pizzas were a little overcooked but tasty.

This is a sort of place you would try and book well in advance because the food is so good everyone would be there on a Saturday night! Thankfully they have a lot of tables so we managed to get a table last minute.

We have been eating here since they opened, but after this evenings experience l will not return. Okay, we didn’t arrive until 8:30 pm, but (although there were only 2 other couples in) the service was slow and their attitude was very dismissive. When, at 9:30 l asked for coffee l was told the machine had been turned off! La Piazza clearly have more customers than they need, next time l will try the new Italian at the top of the high street.

We are visiting from Florida and lucky enough to find this true culinary gem in Amesbury. The food is high quality, the restaurant is clean and modern, and the service polite. The salmon was so good I ordered it 3 nights in a row. To top it off, the prices are reasonable. Do yourself a favor and try Piazza in Amesbury.

A really delightful independent Italian restaurant in the centre of the village . We we’re staying locally and it was so good we went 2 nights in a row. Excellent pizza and pasta, some fabulous seafood staters and wonderful tiramisu. Friendly and attentive staff and a lovely ambiance.Thank you .

We turned up without a booking to an almost full restaurant. The host said he would see what he could do and within 5 minutes a table became available. It was cleaned and set ready for us. The service was excellent. Food delicious. We were more than happy with our evening. I would not hesitate to recommend this lovely restaurant. Well done to all of the team.

Great prices and good service. We were in Amesbury for two days and ate there both days! They were accommodating and made a pepperoni pizza with pineapple for us.😁
