First visit to this lovely authentic Italian restaurant. Such a friendly welcome, arriving without a reservation and were lucky to be able to get a table for 3 on a Saturday evening. Great food and perfect service. Will definitely be returning soon to try more dishes.

This is one of my favourite places to go and eat (favourite in Salisbury). The staff are always so lovely and the food is spot on, everything is have eaten there has been delicious. A really excellent Italian restaurant. Photos are from my last visit in November.

This was a " it's closest to the hotel","take a chance" no reservation, walk in, strangers in the city. My god what a find ! ! A very warm smiley welcome. Didn't miss a beat when we announced we didn't have a reservation, no sucking over the teeth just "no problem, you're very welcome, follow me I will find you both a nice table". Busy for a wet Wednesday in December & then we discovered why. Food was, without a word of a lie, "out of this world: delicious ! My partner is Sicilian & is very particular about her Italian food & the look of joy & bliss on her was a wonder to behold. I had pork chops, four on the plate complete with roasted vegetables so no hidden extras, Silvana had crab ravioli as a main course & when the reaction is " you have got to try this !" you know they have got it spot on. A trio of crostini to start & one of the most lightest, fragrant olive oils I have ever tasted. Accompanied by a boisterous Italian Red that set everything off perfectly. We could have been Italy it all felt so genuine. When, even now, four days after the meal I still remember every detail. How many restaurants have you ever been to when you can say that. Pure deligh & @ £91 for the two of us including wine with food of this quality an absolute steal ! Thank-you Grillado for, by pure chance, making our visit to Salisbury a truly memorable one. My wife and I have visited this restaurant many times and is our favourite place to eat. The food is excellent with a great variety of dishes to choose from. Danny with his sister Erica are brilliant hosts and the rest of the staff are all helpful and friendly, giving a great experience. The drinks and wines are at decent prices and there is a good selection to choose from. In our opinion the best restaurant in Salisbury and highly recommended.

We used a gift voucher for our meal but will definitely return. The food was delicious and the service was first class. The T bone veal steak was the star of our meal, but everything we ordered was lovely. Amazing restaurant, would definitely recommend.

Fantastic food, fantastic service

Grillado is 200m from the market square in Castle Street, ever so slightly off the beaten track, so you might not notice it. This is a fantastic restaurant, with amazing Italian food, cooked with real love, and all at an affordable price. The wine list is also excellent with good wine to suit every pocket. The staff are very friendly and attentive, and the restaurant has a warm Italian family character.

Food is always nice, though they do sneak a service charge onto the bill despite it not being mentioned on the menu or the website at all. Was only informed about it right as I was about to pay. The cost of service should be accounted for in their prices.

This is an amazing Sicilian family restaurant with not just DELICIOUS food but great charm and a sense of community. the pizza which the diretorre del ristorante, and I’m guessing Capofamiglia, warned us might be a little too thick in the crust was absolutely perfect for us. I had the ravioli del giorno (ricotta and spinach) which was absolutely gorgeous with some butter and sage. I came in hangry and tired and left with a big smile on my face. Well done.

A very enjoyable dinner here with terrific homemade style ravioli professionally served in a traditional Italian restaurant. The preceding burrata had some stand out tomatoes accompanying it as well.

Service was efficient but utterly impersonal with zero interaction. Food was OK but no more other than some scallops that were poor. Left wondering why I spent £90+ on 2 courses each, a bottle of water and 2 glasses of wine?

Ate at this fantastic restaurant last night. The mussels were literally the best I have ever had - finished with Parmesan which made them next level. Then had a fillet steak with blue cheese sauce - again absolutely fabulous. I can also recommend the undated Montepoluciano which is apparently brewed in Manchester.

Lovely meal. Had starters of calamari and scallops. Mains of pork belly and salmon pasta. Portion sizes good. Very tasty meals. Had the sav blanc and coke also finished with a cappuccino. Service was excellent. Definitely come back again.

It must be a mob trick that restaurant Grillado had 4,6 stars. The restaurant is clean but misses any atmosphere, like the staff who lakes any enthusiasm. When you like to order the "home made" ravalioli, save your pounds and buy them at the Tesco. Those are more tasty. At Grillado they are served with too much fat. Spare ribs are drowned in ketchup. It might be a Itlish style but surely not Italian! Even the pizza seemed to be served from the fridge. All food was served within 10 minutes. It is an art on its own to spoil Italian food!

I cannot agree with the good reviews I read before I ate at Grillado. The 4 of us were celebrating a birthday and were hoping for a meal to remember but this will now be for the wrong reasons. I had the mussels starter which was a bowl of very thick cream and overcooked mussels. Minimal flavour and chewy. The croquettes were meatballs which atleast had flavour even though it was unusual…the main course was not what we were expecting and again was heavy on cream. The meal didn’t feel like authentic Italian, for 4 people 2 courses with no booze came to almost £200. The atmosphere wasn’t great but I cannot fault the service. The team were all very attentive and while the food was a let down the service was good. Wouldn’t recommend.

3 course lunch for 2, with wine, on a Saturday lunchtime using BuyaGift voucher. Great choice with good menu, and excellent service. Food was exceptional with starters calamari and croquettes with dips to share, Mains : Mussels and Veal with Parma ham in a lovely white wine sauce and seasonal veg. No need to order sides as the portions were ample. Very attentive service. Recommend.

We come to Salisbury once a year and have always gone to this restaurant and once again we were not disappointed. The food and service were first class and we will be returning next year and I thoroughly recommend

Visited for a weekly ‘date night’ and despite friendly service and a nice atmosphere, the majority of the food left a lot to be desired. Both myself and my partner ordered a pizza for the main course, both of which were surprisingly bland with very little flavour. The dough was also somewhat granular when eating the crusts. My partner’s starter of what was essentially deep fried melted cheese with arrabbiata was extremely poor - the arrabbiata was in fact seemingly shop-bought sweet chilli sauce, and the cheese balls had zero flavour despite being made of cheese! The one saving grace were the portobello mushrooms with goats cheese - this starter was delightful however I cannot help but think this was more down to the raw ingredients being tasty rather than any ingenuity in the preparation. The presentation was also strong, so we can give them that! Overall a poor experience, particularly given this is one of the more expensive restaurants in the area. Safe to say we won’t be returning

Excellent food, especially the bruschetta starter. It tasted so fresh and oozing flavours, perfect texture. All dishes were complimented by each of us. Of all main courses we had, the half chicken with dips was probably the best. Not the cheapest but reasonable value for money considering the level of food. Receipt photo attached. But... waiters and waitresses walked past us a few times whilst two of us were saying "excuse me " with a hand raised... then took 4 of them to eventually organise one glass of house red, during our main course. Meanwhile the gentleman next to us asked for a glass of water and got it in 30 seconds leaving us gobsmacked. It made us feel like 2nd rate citizens. It's a shame that this happened since it tarnished our experience, hence we probably won't be going back despite the excellent food. Complements to the chef, shame he/she/they and the owner are let down by others. I have however left 4 stars as our experience seems unique and not entirety relevant to everyone else.

Very nice food staff very friendly, but very crowded and lots of noise tables crammed in to every space ,we enjoyed our meal but were pleased to leave because of the noise.

Great food was spoiled by a screaming three year old child. Not the owner of the restaurant fault. Parents of the child should have considered others in the restaurant. We love this restaurant but this I’ll behaved child spoiled the whole experience.

We were not impressed with the food at all. The “Italian” meat platter was poor quality , definitely not cured quality Italian meats. The main dishes were pub grub quality. Overpriced and not an authentic Italian restaurant. I am celiac , they couldn’t even offer me chips as they don’t use separate fryers .

Service quite welcome, but staff did not really seem to have everything under control; it just worked My first course was scollops in a cream sauce for £9.70. Just three scollops does seem a bit on the mean side, and they were small scollps. Second course was Saltimboca, which was quite good but was cooked with cream (I should have looked at the menu more carefully) rather than in wine. Overall not the greatest experience. And, I feel, a bit pricey.

If you love all Italian food this is the place to go to. A lovely small friendly restaurant with excellent service, wonderful staff and the food is amazing! From pasta, to Rotisserie, the quality is superb. Special offers if you want an early dinner intime for the theatre is a great deal. It gets busy, not surprising, so you may want to book. Don't miss out!

Visited this restaurant last Friday , I have to have gluten free food and the staff were really helpful. They had gluten free pasta and explained most of the special dishes could be adapted where necessary. Nice to visit a restaurant where I felt the staff understood my needs.

We came here as I was bought a “BuyAGift” voucher and it was valid here for a 3 course meal with coffee and 2 glasses of wine each. I contacted the restaurant to book it and told them of my voucher use which was no problem. The manager at front of house was very friendly and explained what was included in our voucher. The menu has a good variety of Italian dishes, and the food was really good quality and portion sizes were generous - I couldn’t finish all of the food. A good little restaurant which is nice to find, and would definitely come back here again when we are in the area.

All very nice apart from the so called rib eye steak that cost £25 was not a rib eye at all which was a bit gutting as the rest of the food and experience was brilliant.

An excellent meal. We had the ‘early menu’, and I didn’t expect it to be such generous portions as we were given. Nor did I expect the glass of wine that was part of this menu. The food was very good, and even though our waitress wasn’t in the habit of smiling, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Fabulous. Simply wonderful food. We cant resist the carbonara, spag bol and side of spicey fries to soak up the sauce (for not much more than 20 quid!!) Top restaurant food for takeaway prices. So consistent, so delicious. Thanks again guys.

Since we had been walking around the wonderful city all day, we didn't feel like going to a restaurant in the evening. We preferred to eat on the terrace at Aibnb. A tour guide in the cathedral had already recommended this place to us, so I looked at the homepage and ordered online. It takes about half an hour to prepare and the delivery was very friendly. The food was very rich and good! Lasagna like in Italy, ribs very tender! Absolute recommendation!

What a find! We arrived in town for the first time and noticed this place as I was about to park the car. We went early evening and had a very good 2 course meal with wine and it was all an excellent tasting experience with excellent service. The gelato after was to die for! Only problem it is too far from home, otherwise we would be here every week....

We had an excellent meal here. The special lunch deal is fantastic value: we had pasta, bruschetta, piri piri chicken, and two cokes and it came in, with service, at around £26. Portions were large, service fast and friendly.

Celebrated July 4th lunch here after visiting Stonehenge. We picked this place mostly because it is >0.5 miles from Salisbury Cathedral so didn’t have any particular expectations, but the food turned out to be rather incredible. I ordered the Sicilian Surf and Turf (very good), but my 6 yo son presciently ordered the carbonara, which turned out to be one of the top 3 carbonara dishes I’ve ever had. TLDR the food was 10-out-of-10 delicious and the owner / host was incredibly gracious. Highly recommend

We were visiting from the states. They were able to work us in to a fully booked evening. We are so glad they did. The food was excellent! Our taxi driver had suggested it and we used our driver again just to say thank you. One of the best Italian meals I have ever had. The salmon was delicious and my husband's veal was perfect. We had to stop eating to make room for dessert. A win all around. Try the berry cider or any of the wines!

By far the best dinner we had since we arriwed to the UK. Nice setting and attentive waitresses. If you want proper food, go there!

Food was terrible. There was a different chef. Quality of meat was excellent however the sauces were poor and ruined the dishes, the potatoes oily and tasteless and the veg overdone and oily. Couldn’t recommend or return, we were all very disappointed. The staff were very polite and welcoming although the two female waitresses stood chatting in another language very loudly throughout the whole evening, they were not attentive and the manager didn’t seem to manage them.

Grillado serves delicious food in huge portions. My husband was happy with his veal and I enjoyed the beef ravioli, while we shared an insalata mista (one note: I’m not a fan of the ubiquitous sweet mustard dressing and didn’t expect to find it in an Italian restaurant- best to request oil and vinegar instead if you want a more traditionally Italian salad). Service was appropriately attentive but not overbearing, although the restaurant was not crowded the night we were there. We found easy street parking nearby on a Saturday night in late April.

The service was very friendly. The calamari for starters was tender. The sea bass was not pine crusted as advertised and the herb sauce was a store bought Bernaise. My Costine di Manzo, what was that? Should be flambéed in whiskey with a BBQ sauce. I got it with a store bought sweet & sour sauce.

We went twice because it was so good, 12 and 13 June. Lovely staff, excellent food reasonably priced. The scallops are the best I have tasted.
