Mother & Wild in Wiltshire

Modern British bistro with imaginative well cooked offerings. Terrific flavours. Didn’t try the pizzas but they looked good. Lovely staff. Slightly cafe vibe more than restaurant.

After a long walk it was great to discover Mother and Wild. Great coffee made by Eis and astonishingly good cakes served by Ben. Not surprised it is part of Walcot House. Will certainly be returning, well done all.

Called in whilst passing through Corsham after finding Mother & Wild on Google Maps. Feel lucky to have found this lovely little restaurant. The staff were lovely and the food delicious, we both went for the aubergine parmigiana dish which was delicious. We were lucky to get a table as most of the tables were pre booked, so phone before you go to avoid disappointment!

I was blown away by how delicious the Margarita pizza was. We accompanied it with an uncomplicated Rocket and Fennel salad with shavings of Parmesan and-sunflower seeds. The M&W woodfired pizza is well worth the drive if you like good wood-fired pizza. The team of servers were really friendly too and it’s super Pet friendly.

Had two pizza, they were good, had better in the same style. Prices are a bit steep for the quality, about £2 too high

Nice little restaurant, with good food, excellent service, all is well priced. Highly recommend. Offers gluten free bases and vegan cheese options.

First time visiting here for lunch with friend who recommended it. Lovely atmosphere- cute and cosy. Busy and bustly. Menu was lovely and well priced. I had the aubergine parmigiani- absolutely scrummy and with the side salad too. Perfect portion size. Washed down with a small red wine. Had a cheeky scoop of vanilla bean ice cream- perfect! Service very good- just one note that may need a little more time in between courses. But friendly and welcome none the less. Look forward to visiting soon.

Very cute place, really nice date night vibes. The Anarnchini and tiramisu were to die for! Pizza was a little one dimentianal, I had the chorizo and onion one all I tasted was spice. The wait time for order was very long but they were super busy! I'd go back and maybe try a more basic pizza, might be better balanced.

Takeaway menu not working. Called and told to try it again. Spent 10 mins getting annoyed with it. Called to order and told they don’t take orders over the phone. Felt very robotic and inhuman. Still my working and felt my issue. Called again and told they had switched off takeaway capa online. Great pizza and glad they are busy. But phone put down half way through is taking. Guess..just too busy to deal with people.

What can is say? This place is a local gem. Funky cafe style atmosphere with great pizzas, cakes and breakfast options.

My friend suggested we met here on a Friday evening, so I booked online around 2 weeks in advance, and was requested to give my card details for a £20 retainer in case of a no-show, which I was quite surprised about - but what I really didn't like was that when you book, you have to say how long you would need the table for. I think the maximum was 1.5 hours, which I didn't like at all. When you are catching up with friends, I hate feeling rushed. Anyway, we met last night at 18:30 - and before I had even sat down, I was reminded again about them needing the table back, which wasn't exactly a warm welcome! The menu is fairly limited, but I think this is so that what they do, they do well. I can't fault the food. Our pizzas and puddings were delicious, although I would say the glasses of wine were very small and not good value for what we paid. Our waitress was friendly, but the whole evening (or rather 1.5h hours!) was a bit strained, as I felt we had to be constantly clock-watching, and this was very off-putting. Usually, when my friend and I meet for dinner, we might have a more leisurely dinner to chat - and perhaps we may have had another drink, but it all felt rushed and pressured, which I really disliked. I also thought it was wrong that a hefty service charge was added to our bill. In summary, the food was great, but the cold welcome and time constraints were unnecessary.

I’ve been in a few times for coffee which is OK. I stopped today with my kids for pizza and the service was terrible. Really really poor. I could barely get anyone’s attention to order and then the food took an hour to come. I could tell from the interaction with the chef that the food had been ready a while. Pizza alright but super garlicky. Then I wanted to order ice cream for my son and I made eye contact with as many servers as possible but to no avail. Poor kid!

Came here on Monday evening for my sons 21st birthday, food was really good but service was rubbish, we arrived at 6 and was only offered 1 drink they took ages to take our order when it arrived we had no cutlery had to ask for some, we also took a cake and candles and asked 3 times for it to be brought out in the end we asked for the bill and cake bake. Very disappointed as my so has wanted to come her for a long time won't be rushing back.

Great coffee, disappointing that the breakfast menu offered online isn’t available, with a limited selection of pastries, no explanation from the staff to explain why. On a positive pizzas have always been great, but breakfast offer inconsistent with usual high quality

What a fabulous place! We had dinner on the patio which was beautifully decorated. The pizza is absolutely delicious, best pizza base we've eaten and the salads well dressed. Everything we ate was of excellent quality and the service was attentive and always with a smile. I would highly recommend a visit to mother and wild

We told no breckfast today as they had to get lunch ready it was 9 am ha i think they had no chef normly its amzing so.was dispointed

I’ve been coming to this restaurant since you opened, hands down you had the best pizza in the area. Please change your dough back. I was disappointed last night to find you have changed it, and it’s now just good but average pizza.

Update 2nd August 2024. Came here as everything has always been fantastic. Feels a bit like the B team on today. Staff seem to be more interested in having a laugh than taking care of customers. Errors and omissions to orders... To the fact where there was no point in mentioning something had been forgotten as by the time it would have been ready we would have finished our meal!. Don't know... Makes me feel a bit cautious about coming back in the future. Especially as we are sitting here being ignored quite well as I type this... Hmmm. Update: Returned for a bit of a holiday feast, and was not disappointed. Food, service and atmosphere of this fabulous restaurant have probably become even better, since our last visit. Nice to see the place full and buzzing with dozens of conversations. Food was, as previously, delicious. Staff were friendly, helpful and there if you needed something. I would book in advance as it seems to be very popular. Original: Had a fantastic lunch here today, after a brief trip to Corsham. Sat inside, bit too hot for me, but there is a lovely outside area as well. Decided to go for pizzas. I went for the four cheese option, while the husband went for hot smoked salmon. Both were absolutely delicious, and very filling. Decided to add some polenta chips, and although we didn't finish them, ran out of room, they were amazing. Staff were really helpful and friendly, and I highly recommend a visit if you are around!

Stopped here for a pizza half way through a bike ride. I was not disappointed, I can honestly say it's one of the best pizzas I've had in several years. Plus the outdoor heater was a bonus on a chilly evening.

The ambience of this establishment is very cosy and the staff were friendly. Our party of 4 ordered 2 starters to share - House Baked Focaccia and the Truffled Wild Mushroom Arancini Pesto Mayo.. The latter tasted amazing and looked delightful on the plate, just a pity that there were only 3 small mushrooms (see photo) We also ordered 2 Margarita Sourdough Pizza's, Spiced Lamb Calzone Pizza, Beef Meatballs in a Salsa Verde Sauce, x2 Parmesan Polenta Chips and x2 Truffle Parmesan Skin on Fries. All in all the food was nice, we just found it to be very oily, salty and the Parmesan on both of the fries became a bit too sickly after awhile - maybe this is an Italian thing, but it's not to ours so unfortunately we've had to drop a star.

Busy and buzzing. We had booked but no record of our booking. Sat outside and waited and waited and eventually a waiter told us no table service outside. However we still had a £20 service charge...food was ok, quite good. Just pizzas and salads. We were disappointed. Then there was a muddle with our bill and it was £170 for 4 people..

I want on 2nd March 24 and love the place. I live in Wales, but visit Mother & Wild every time i am Corsham if I can. Just love it!!

We have been coming here almost once a month for a year. The food never fails to impress and the service has been getting significantly better! We had the pleasure of being served/hosted by Ben who was friendly and super helpful!

I'm very disappointed. We asked for a menu and waitress said "We have only bakery and drinks at the moment". Was 11am You can see on the Google lot of pictures with their menu,but at 11am they don't have any English breakfast, omelets or etc,only coffee, tea and few bakery's. You have to provide full menu for customers. About interior design, is beautiful, very cosy and comfortable,quite and clean.

Came with my husband for a breakfast, in photo gallery we saw the food and were hopping that we will have a good breakfast and good time here. We asked for menu but the waitress said that they have just cakes and coffee, but next tables had the menu and cutlery. Coffee and cakes were tasty 👍🏻

Delishous pizza, the sort of pizza it's absolutely worth going out for! The bread sticks are amazing and the staff are lovely. I recommend booking for the evening as they get busy from 5:30pm.

Two nights in a row they managed to squeeze me in for dinner. Had the same pizza both nights as it was very nice! Whisky cocktail on night 1 was a little small but the wine on night two was a good measure. Finished with the best carrot cake I've ever tasted!

Had a takeaway pizza last week and it was amazing! I had the salmon pizza and my husband and father in law both had the butternut squash pizza. We shared the rocket and fennel salad. I've never had such a good pizza! The flavours are well thought out and the base is crispy and thin. I usually leave my crusts but not this time. I can't wait to try the other pizzas on the menu 😁

Great little restaurant hidden away in Corsham. Discovered it as a pleasant surprise while passing through.

Mega. We ended up here by chance and had the best pizza and tiramisu outside of Italy. The Parmesan Polenta Chips…. I've never eaten anything like that before, it's awesome. The service was great, there were not only recommendations for food but also for places to eat in Bath as this is where we are staying.

Very disappointed with the table offered for three of us to have a leisurely lunch. The table wasn't adequate, not enough room for three if us to sit around. It was squashed into a corner with a large busy table within elbows reach.. Staff weren't able to give us another table except one near the main door and told we could only have it for 1 hour. Considering I phoned and booked a table 5 days beforehand, I was expecting a better position. The venue is very small and I got the feeling they had overbooked. I won't go again or recommend to anyone else.

How did it happen that incompetent managers now work in this cafe??? (question to management). Absolute chaos in the restaurant, where there are no reservation signs or proper service. But there is rudeness, slow service, and disrespect for customers!!! To the point that after carrying coffee and pastries for 30 minutes, they give you 10, only to be sure to tell you to vacate the table, because supposedly they have the next client coming!!! Inconceivable! It was a very nice place until yesterday. Now they impose on you a service charge on your check that is not even listed on the menu. And they call it optional! And they try to shortchange you on the check! It was a very nice place, till yesterday. Now they sneak you the service charge into your bill while it is not even mentioned in the menu. And they call it optional. And the prices are short-changed on the bill as well, so pay attention!

Poor experience, we waited for 30 minutes for a coffee and cake and then we were told to leave 5 minutes later because our table was booked for the next client

Fantastic food and really wonderful nice and attentive staff. Visited for breakfast while my car was being serviced. Shared scrambled eggs on toasted muffin and a carrot, apple and blueberry muffin with my little girl. It was so delicious. My car wasn’t serviced that day so I’ll be back again for breakfast next week and will definitely travel back for lunch with my husband one day as so good.

Food and really good. Delicious dishes which are all really well cooked. Only negatives are no draught beers on tap unfortunately and all the other drinks are very over priced for example a lime and soda is £3 and 330ml can of beer is £5-6 Also very we had to wait 10-15 mins for our table as it wasn't cleared in time. Staff very nice however.

I had the pancetta pizza and the pancetta was far too salty. Garlic mayo didn't taste of garlic. The salad was delicious as was the hot honey and pepperoni pizza

Went with a group so we ordered beforehand. I can't take anything spicy so ordered a pizza which had absolutely nothing spicy on it. Half way through I couldn't feel my mouth. Turns out they put chili oil on the pizza base but didn't bother to say so on the menu. Great dough. Nice place. Probably won't go back if I can help it.

wow! I feel emotional about how delicious the takeaway pizzas were we got from here tonight. The Nduja and broccoli pizza was quite possibly in the top 3 pizza’s I’ve ever eaten Apparently they are dog friendly, will definitely be visiting them soon to try the restaurant out

Really homely café/restaurant with great coffee, wonderful array of cakes, friendly staff and quick service. The carrot cake was delicious, very soft and moist with just the right amount of cream cheese topping. Pizzas also looked absolutely yummy! Can get very busy and popular at lunchtime.

Lovely spot in Corsham for a good meal. Mains and small bites are very nice, the pizzas are really tasty, the staff are friendly and the atmosphere is good.

If Carlsberg made pizzas. Probably the best pizza my wife and I have ever had, and we've tasted (and made) a fair few. We shared the pork & fennel and the chorizo pizzas - they were both excellent - perfectly cooked, light to eat and fantastically flavoured.

Love this cosy and friendly place l just wish the menus were change but overall it's a lovely place to meet friends.

The disappointing thing about this restaurant is when ordering takeout even if you phone ahead you are still waiting 40 minutes later for your food and no apology for the poor service. A such for a local place.
