I searched for a place to eat something delicious on my way back to my accommodation after work, but I didn't stay there and just had a meal. The staff was friendly and the food was delicious. It was the best. I had Daegu too, but the green onions, potatoes... Wow, how did they make this... I'll have to go eat something else next time.

Had a meal out for our anniversary tonight, we tried the 5 course set menu. Wow , every course was incredible and beautifully presented. Lovely atmosphere and service was also perfect. Friendly and welcoming staff. Will definitely be coming back.

We love places like this. Stopped on route to Bruton. Sat in the garden in the sun and enjoyed a 3 course menu of wonderful pub gastro food. Heartwarming but refined. The monkfish was perfectly cooked. Would stop again.

Dining as a family, with my mother, father, and brother, we indulged in a three-course meal that epitomized thoughtful, refined cooking. Each course was a testament to the kitchen’s skill—flavorful, meticulously balanced, and satisfying without veering into indulgent excess. The dishes showcased a deft touch, allowing quality ingredients to shine while maintaining an air of understated sophistication. The experience as a whole was one of genuine contentment, made even more memorable by attentive service and the venue’s welcoming ambiance. We left thoroughly pleased with both the meal and the occasion. A worthy choice for those seeking seasonal dining with a touch of elegance.

Today we had the most spectacular lunch at The Red Lion. The 5 course tasting menu was a total triumph. Interesting ingredients made the meal so delightful - however the execution of them make it truly memorable. The staff are amazing. Attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. They strike the perfect balance of being familiar and professional and know when to leave you to get on with your meal. Guy and Britt have created magic at The Red Lion. I’m manufacturing excuses to go again!

The food is absolutely exceptional, I've eaten here a number of times and it's always been consistently perfect. That said its expensive, a three courser is easily £100 a head but then you are getting high quality ingredients prepared by clearly a knowledgeable chef!

Faultless food,wine,service and room. Warm welcome, beautiful view over the watermeadow on the private deck and a relaxed thatched pub to dine in. Fabulous.

Read the crits, and it's clear that everyone loves the food, I second that. The wine markup is a bit enthusiastic. I bet the locals dream of winning the lottery and buying the good stuff. Hmm! If I had any criticism, I'd suggest the rooms are priced akin, but why not? Would I come back is as yet an unanswered question. Would I recommend you try it? Oh, yes. My write-up is a bit boring, and I'm usually passionately enthusiastic about places I love. That's my take home...

Fantastic food ,superb service and atmosphere of any pub or restaurant in the area. We highly recommend it and commend the staff for a fantastic experience on Saturday evening.

Birthday treat totally lived up to expectations. Had the 5 course taster menu (with wine pairings and cheese course). Enhanced by the service from Jamie and the other staff (and to see training in action - this is important!). Stayed the night in a very comfortable room. Loved the cake as a precursor to dinner. Breakfast was super. Great Spotify playlist to accompany our full English. On another day would have had the Bloody Mary. Thanks to all
