I'm usually quite critical of coffee shops, some environments scream "get in get out" but this lovely local place is such a treat if you want a tasty breakfast bite, with a great coffee. If youve always wanted to try a quality breakfast croissant or a wonderful basque cheesecake, come here Service is informative and they know their stuff!

Went in over the weekend with my parents and ordered an iced matcha, I forgot to order a pump of vanilla syrup as I payed. So I asked immediately after the fact if they could add syrup, saying that I would be happy to pay, and the server (she had dark-brownish hair) snapped at me. She was incredibly rude and responded with "Well can you just remember to order it first next time, cause we do actually charge for it and now I won't be able to put it through" to which I apologized and asked if I could pay for it as a separate tip, which she just shrugged and ignored. I don't normally write these reviews, however I was chatting to my friend about it and she told me about a similar experience she had with the same server over the weekend. My friend ordered a flat white with coconut milk (to have in) everything seemed fine, then 10 minutes later the server came over to inform her that they were out of coconut milk and asked if she could have Oat instead. When my friend responded, she asked if they have soy, at which point the server started quizzing her on her preference of milk. Saying " Why can't you have Oat instead, are you allergic", my friend replied with "no I'm not allergic, I just have a soy preference", the server then stated that their coconut milk had oat milk in it so she needed to state that next time she ordered a coffee. She was incredibly rude and made my friend feel very awkward. Not to mention my matcha wasnt even whisked properly and had solid clumps of powder. Over priced, Rude, and poor quality. Safe to say I won't be going there again.

A great and often overlooked coffee spot in Bristol. Consistently great coffee every time and also offers a good selection of light lunches and pastries. It’s a friendly and relaxed atmosphere with some seating areas allowing laptop use and charging sockets, so it’s an amazing spot to pitch up for a few hours on a rainy day. The staff are very welcoming and prices have remained competitive, despite cost rises elsewhere.

I came in a Saturday afternoon, not many options for cakes but it was alright. I’ve tried the chocolate brownie, it tasted rich and not too sweet, a good choice to have it with a cup of coffee. The latte was okay but it could be hotter, just a mild temperature I would say. I’ve noticed that the coffee shots were waiting there while the milk was still steaming. It’s a bit pricy so good to give it a go. But yet, it’s good in the around area.

Wicked night, saw Home Counties perform. The venue had a great vibe intimate yet lively, making it perfect for live music. The sound quality was spot on, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout the evening. Dareshack’s unique atmosphere really added to the experience, and I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on future events here. If you’re looking for a cool spot in Bristol to catch some live music, this is the place to go

This review is about the music venue, not the cafe. The stage is far too low, which made it difficult to see the band because of people in front of me & I was close to the stage. It was also far too dark, the stage needs more lighting. The sound was good.

Arguably some of the best coffee in Bristol. Dareshack is certainly my most visited coffee stop. The selection of coffee is exceptional and all of the baristas are highly skilled. Any choice of a classic coffee is good here, they also have a few signature drinks which are fun, too. I had my first espresso tonic here in the summer which was really amazing- I recommend this to anyone looling for a refreshing coffee based drink in the summer. I haven't eaten here a lot but they always have fresh sandwiches which look decent, but importantly their baked goods are always amazing and worth coming here for. The cafe itself is a really cool contemporary space. There are seats to people watch passers by outside, as well as some nooks to tuck away in and some more open tables. There is also a space here that sometimes art exhibitions are held in, as well as gigs showcasing local talent. Love it here, I'm so happy we have a space of this quality in the centre of Bristol.

Lovely atmosphere and friendly service. I asked for a soya milk cappuccino to stay in, so I was invited to take a seat, and the barista would bring my coffee. The coffee arrived after 10 minutes (ten) but no queue at the till. The cappuccino was brought without a spoon. I paid £3.90 for a cappuccino, which, consider the average prices around, it's way too pricy. My cappuccino was quite good, but temperature wise a wee mild and the foam was too thin, more like a latte than a cappuccino, but probably I noticed it just because I used to be a batista myself years ago. Overall, great place and atmosphere but service too relaxed and way too expensive.

An unusual looking building perhaps with black paintwork and a somewhat industrial appearance internally, it doesn’t look the most inviting place but we popped in on spec as we were after a quick snack and a drink. I would have gone for one of their filled wraps, but they were placed on a high counter right next to where everyone was queueing, so just the right height for everyone to breathe all over them. Very off putting, so we opted for the cakes which were under cover. The selection was fairly limited and a little unusual perhaps – no Victoria Sponge or Millionaire’s Shortbread for example, and much of what they did have seemed to be running low, with only one slice of Carrot Cake left, for example. Other options included brownies and a Black Forest slice. Service was friendly enough, but a bit haphazard. We seemed to be waiting quite a long time for ours to arrive seeing as all they had to do was make a couple of drinks, and when the drinks did arrive the waitress whisked out order number away as though we’d had everything, but the cakes had yet to arrive, and there was no milk with the tea, despite the guy who took the order making a point of asking if we wanted any. The carrot cake was pretty good, nice and moist, but it could have done with some more cream topping. Across the table, a flapjack was ridiculously crumbly, to the point that as soon as you tied to pick it up it pretty much disintegrated, but other than that was quite tasty, although with a bit of a coconut flavour which might not suit everyone. An accompanying latte was pretty good. Overall, not bad, but it needs a few tweaks to really fulfil it’s potential.

Seemed pretty good. Saw a band I liked and the sound was great. No complaints. However I wanted to buy a shirt and they only took cash. They wouldn't let me go to a cashpoint (there's one a 5 second walk away) and return to buy the merch. This was 22:45. Such a shame and I hope any bands I like play there in the future. Completely ruined the experience.

Came in for lunch on a weekday with my work laptop with me, however was asked to move twice as if you have a laptop you can not sit in certain areas. This was poorly signposted. Staff were unfriendly and the second time I was asked to move I was mid way through my sandwich & coffee, she didn’t offer to help me move and I felt very uncomfortable/unwelcome. Apart from that the sandwich was nice but coffee was Luke warm. I was meant to meet two friends there but I left early to go round the corner to a coffee shop I frequently visit instead, I personally won’t be going back.
