Amazing food! Had the Beef meal and the chocolate slice! Highly recommend!

First time ordering here and was highly pleased with what we received. 1 item was forgot but was quickly rectified and they were very apologetic, but mistakes happen. Food was absolutely amazing and would order from here again. Highly recommend

I went today to purchase a coffee which I did. My purchase was based on the fact that they would be closed a 9 pm as advertised on Google Places(Map). As I was sitting a gentleman I approached me telling me that they are closing in 10mins that was at 19:45pm. The gentleman didn't provide an explanation or neither apologises for the inconvenience caused. Avoid when you'are planning to sit down relying on their opening times.

Brilliant service and lovely food and drink. Rooms were spotless and everyone was so friendly and helpful. Must be well run as all staff members fabulous. Good value for money too. Thank you for making our weekend.

The food is now back to its best! The flavours were exceptional and nicely balanced with heat. The vegetables were gorgeous and cooked to absolute perfection. I love the relaxing ambiance and quality interior of this restaurant. However, some of the staff are hurried and abrupt in their manner which slightly detracts from the overall experience although the food more than compensated on our recent visit.

Met up with an old friend for pre Christmas dinner. Three courses....all equally delicious. The atmosphere is always so welcoming and I have never had a bad meal at The Boar's Head. You can never go wrong for a meal out here....I would never hesitate in recommending a visit.

Excellent service and good food.

Looking at other reviews of 5 stars, the food here is either a big hit or big miss. We recently visited and the beef was like leather. I wouldn't have fed it to my dog because it was like chewing through an old pair of boots. It didn't cut even with a stake knife because it was full of hard gristle. The staff seemed incapable of just admitting it was terrible and seemed to want to justify and defend it. They tried to convince me it was just how beef is in a roast and brought out a replacement plate of the same stuff. I sensed they either didn't care or had been told to say its fine. I found that approach to be more off putting and unsettling than the food itself. Unlikely to return because there are better places to go!

Really poor. Not impressed with the service and the food. Arrived for lunch with my family, my son and his wife were working so we called in for a quick lunch and drinks. We only ordered two sandwiches and it took over an hour to receive our food which by then was too late for my son and wife. So they left without any food! The pub wasn’t even busy and when the food eventually arrived the baguettes had been over warmed in a microwave and the chips were under cooked. Really poor service, no apology or explanation. Amazing to see the replies from the pub about the poor food and service: we regret to hear that you had this experience with us. Thank you again for taking the time to let us know how we can improve. This place has truly turned a corner. It was dreadful but now the food is very good. All credit to the team who have done this. I had the starter of fried cauliflower it was superb, i like crunchy veg not all do but i loved it. The main course peri chicken. The chicken was moist the chips lovely. Would wish it was more spicy but it was very nice My friend has the chicken with beans and sausage it looked very tasty i will have that next time. The moral of the story is simple if it is bad review the truth, then they will improve or die, if you dont they will just keep being bad. This place has got it right made the effort and has made it good. 6 stars from me.

Not a hotel to stay with children...a truck stop would be cleaner .

Took nearly 2 hours to get to us, and for the price, it really was not worth the wait. Over priced and poor quality, most went in the bin as we just couldn't finish it. Spare ribs were nice according to the other half though!

The bear is a lovely spot for both a drink and food. The restaurant is nice with great quality food - very good for a special occasion. The staff are polite and friendly. The bar area is small and can get busy and noisy. There are a few outside tables available too.

Saturday night. Took our booking weren’t too busy but were gearing up for big groups. They Lost our order. Didn’t bother telling us Left us waiting an hour for food. Served both big groups. Still waiting. I was with 2 children. Never came over to ask or explain. Then sent a quarter of the order to the table and nothing more until I went and complained. Finally 15 minutes later the rest arrived. Over priced, terrible service, I will not be back. It used to be good. Such a shame.
