Been ordering most months from here definitely a change in chief was not terrible but no were near as nice as before sadly be last one

I booked a table for 7pm a week in advance. When we arrived we were eyed up and down by a scruffy little man. He approached and baldly announced he was busy with take aways, he might manage to serve us a drink, but we'd have to wait an hour and a half for food!!!! I was disgusted and pointed out I had booked. He waved his hand and rudely told us we could try the other restaurants. Cheeky Sod! I am glad we did, the place looked scruffy, dated and was noticeably empty. Don't go there!!!! Try the Dil Raj next door!!!!

He rudely waved at the door and suggested we try another place. Frankly by then I was glad to leave the run down, neglected, badly decorated dump anyway! The place was noticeably empty!! DON'T GO THERE, GO TO THE DIL RAJ NEXT DOOR!!!!!!

I had doubts when I went to the restaurant. Seemed that I was the only one there. But once food arrived I immediately knew this was a gem in UK for Indians. I order Peshawari Naan with Veg sabzi along with Jeera Rice and Dal Tadka. The food was awesome 🤩

We both ordered lamb curries one balti one korma, with poppadom, vegetable rice and mushroom rice and naan bread. The Naan bread was ok as was the poppadom. The lamb korma was tender and delicious but the balti was gristly, tough and the sauce was semi thick tasteless gravy. The veg curry was undercooked and sauce was very watery when these issues were raised the guy just shrugged his shoulders. We had a glass of water each which was reluctantly replenished. The toilet : the carpet was a trip hazard and unsecured. The whole venue is in a desperate state only heated by an electric heater hardly welcoming. The usual trade is delivery/takeaway which holds priority. Tried to eat in previously but was turned away as it was too busy with 10 guests on an eat as much as you can deal. Will take my business elsewhere trying to help out a local business and this how we are treated.

I don’t normally write reviews but the staff and chef really deserve a compliment on the service and going the extra mile to prepare our additional vegetarian dishes which were delicious. We went for the Wednesday buffet with all the starters and pickles followed by freshly prepared naan and the curries had a bottle of the Spanish red wine and finished with the chocolates. Total for the evening for 2 of us £36. Great value and will be back soon.

Thought we would try prince of India for a takeaway. Food arrived in good time It was awful .we had lamb madras.there was only 3 small pieces of lamb and there was no hint of madras in it at all.very very bland and tasteless.the poppadums must have been cooked in dirty fat as they were yellow hard and a horrible taste to it.don’t waste your money going there or having a takeaway

The food was very tasty and the service was excellent. Upon entering, we saw we were the only patrons, but decided to try it anyway. We were very pleased with all of our entrees. My daughter is a vegetarian and loved her paneer jalfreezi!

My first time ordering. Driver was lovely and friendly food arrived on time but I didn’t enjoy the chicken tikka masala. Had a strange taste as if it was reheated or not cooked right. The flavour was just off. Rice seemed to be reheated too and big balls of rice stuck together. Not the fluffy white basmati I was expecting. Peshwari naan was ok. I like to support local but will not be ordering from here again unfortunately

Have been a couple of times for the All You Can Eat buffet. The decor is a little dated but I personally don't mind that. I was impressed by the excellent service and the friendliness of the staff. The food is tasty and good quality that's the most important thing.

Both main dishes contained a lot of sauce and very little mean (approx 6 chunks) in a container sized for 2 people. This was entirely underwhelming. Deliver times on initial restaurant detail changed after order, adding half an hour. Waiting over an hour for delivery is excessive. The experience overall was disappointing, and for the price, very bad value.

We walked by the Indian sparkly Town restaurants - the new vogue places of desire - and found this unassuming little place , few dining in - but thought this could be fun! What an amazing place, so authentic, run by a multi generational Bangladeshi family - purely bothered about the real food experience of India and not whether the napkins match the table cloth! A faultless meal, starter, mains side dish and naan. Just so flavoursome. Attentive service and a real honour to meet the family of this gem of a place. This establishment brought so many memories back of our numerous travels around India with faultless tasy meals. Try it and enjoy the feel of how real Indian Restaurants used to be. We will be back.

Don't bother ordering from this restaurant! Half the food was missing and when we called up to complain he said its my fault as I shouldn't have ordered from them as the don't deliver to my address .... I ordered through just eat, so its them who need to change their delivery settings not me!! So rude to me over something that is entirely their fault! Disgusting customer service

Food is very tasty & cooked to perfection. Portions are of good size. Nicest samosa we’ve ever had. Friendly staff on the telephone who are more than happy to accommodate a dish not on the menu. Highly recommend.

Food arrived late and cold by a delivery driver looking very scruffy.. Chicken tikka dish consisted of a container full of sauce with 5 small pieces of chicken - 2 of which pieces were inedible. Balti dish tasted stale. Kema naan burnt.Plane naan very doughy - undercooked. The best part of the meal was our own rice that we cooked and washing up. Won't be using the Prince of India in Abingdon again.

I’m from New York City, grew up in Indian neighborhood on East 6th street. This food was delicious. Abdul is a wonderful host.

My family have been ordering food from the Prince of India every week for over 10 years. The food arrives hot and cooked to our individual requests which shows that food is cooked from fresh. We love the food!

Have never ordered a takeaway from here. However I can highly recommend eating in as the food (especially their vegetarian dishes) is really jolly good indeed; proper, authentic flavours and certainly not the usual one-sauce-fits-all fare that's commonly put on the table front of you. And compared with the place next door, it's an absolute bargain!

First time ordering from Prince of India, of the three meals ordered two were of poor quality. All three were look warm when the food arrived.

Order food at half 2 on afternoon to arrive for 6.15 through just eat, they changed time to 6.40 at 6.40 rang restaurant they said it was going to be a further 10 minute then at 7.05 food arrive was cold had to microwave everything very disappointed this is not the first time I will never order from here again

Collected take away Saturday evening. Food was GREAT as USUAL and service from Abdul was exemplary. Friendly, good value and the only Indian takeaway we will use in Abingdon.

The moment I purchased that jumped up to 45-60 mins as they were busy (fair enough) Was told food was late and it arrived at 19:55. Missing item - No nann bread, easy refund on website but would rather have had the nann. Currys chunks of meat in sauce, tasty enough but totally uninteresting. Probably won't order again.

Ordered for delivery, specifically asked for poppadoms, arrived with all the sauces etc but no poppadoms. Called and asked what happened to them, was told not a statuary requirement and won’t be getting the £ we payed for them back, also said no delivery drivers, but when I called to place another order, he said there were plenty of drivers. Not a great experience, the driver has seemed to have dropkicked the meal before giving it to us. Shame as I sure the food would have been better if the driver knew the area and could find us before it went cold too.

Unlike many places, it tastes home-cooked and each dish has its own character – I think starters are a good indicator: best onion bhajis I've ever eaten, crisp yet buttery, the naan bread is soft and well-seasoned – fresher than anywhere else I've tried, and the mango lassi is the best I've tried, too. The menu is more varied and unusual than most places and I can't wait to try more dishes. Thank you, I've found my takeaway!
