Scarlett and Paisley did an amazing job looking after us all night

Great service especially with my two children (aged 5 and 4), particularly with one of them being a fussy eater. Neil was so kind to check ingredients and to give us an extra garlic bread starter from the kids menu so that my girls were happy. My pie from the adults menu was delicious

Upon our visit all the beers were off and no alternatives suggested by the bar staff. We came with family and ordered at the same time at the bar. Mine and my husbands food arrived and then it took an hour for the rest of the food to arrive. When we went to the bar to check on our order the staff ignored us for a good while before checking on our order. Unfortunately by the time the rest of our tables food arrived we had already finished our food. We decided not to order pudding as a result. Not good service.

I came here with a friend yesterday, the food was lovely as were the drinks, and the prices are great! The food came hot and exceeded any expectations and the cocktails were really nice too. The male server at the bar was friendly and attentive to the order and the female server on the front of house was also as friendly, checking up that everything was well. Will definitely be visiting again when I'm in the area!

scarlett is amazing and so is paisley very smiley staff definiey reccomend. Darts on a tuesday is great and quiz on a sunday is fab !

I go to the station garden a lot after rugby training. We always get the best service and food is great!

Reserved a table so could be seated and order. Ordered food took over an hour to arrive (it was not busy) Childs pizza was burnt under neath, fish on fish and chips was over cooked, was apologised to for delay and food and was given free deserts, staff always very good and polite service usually great and can’t usually complain

Excellent selection of drinks and food, though they had an overflowing loo and nobody to tend to it. This creates a unhygienic atmosphere.

Had a wonderful meal at The Station Garden and great coffee made by Paisley. Big shout out to Paisley as whenever I come here she is so welcoming and thoughtful!

Good staff making sure everyone happy with food

Fine, decent food. Most beer was out of stock. It took 20 minutes for drinks to be delivered after ordering on the app and a Hobgoblin was provided instead of a King Goblin, and I only used the app because the guy with the top knot serving at the bar has an attitude, although most other staff are fine. Hot dog was ok although it could have been hotter. I suspect I'm not really the kind of customer this pub wants though.

Whilst going for dinner at the station garden, I had a meal that was reasonable, however I was so impressed that the management expectations on the standards of food that is delivered to their customers is so high, when I was prepared to accept a lower standard, they weren't happy and insisted on improving the standards of food they deliver. I'm really pleased and impressed, thank you guys... and thank you to Neil specifically for maintaining such a high standard!

My partner and I had fish and chips I large one lunch time small as we were told all that was left.The fish tasted like reheat and I was up all night being sick my part ner was also unwell.I have been to Marston pubs before inNottingham and Derby and have always been satisfied.As I have recently moved to didcot was looking forward to visiting again.Not now.!

We went out for a meal here for my 21st birthday, there was 9 of us. Food all came out at the same time and was hot. 1 issue with a fatty piece of steak but this was quickly sorted by the team. We were served by Neil who was very friendly! Great service as always by my local!

Time for an updated review - we have seen a marked difference in the pub in the past few months. We have always been loyal regulars but now we are loyal regulars who want to come along more frequently and not just for the quiz. Atmosphere has improved, staff numbers are increasing and everyone can be seen to be making a conscious effort to ensure a positive experience. Special shout out to Dave and Neil who more recently have made our experiences consistently positive - always attentive and quick to resolve any queries we may have. Keep it up - it’s not going unnoticed.

Service was delayed otherwise was there was game night on Tuesday and it was great.

I recommend this place to family and friends always a great atmosphere and staff is friendly I can definitely recommend station garden. As well the staff are excellent with answering any questions.

Unfortunately the last couple of experiences in the station garden have been awful. Staff are rude and obnoxious and are not very helpful at all. Food has been shambolic and I witnessed a male member of bar staff poking fingers into food someone was trying to send back due to it being cold and not cooked. The meats served were cold and undercooked in the middle. There was no check back from staff to see how our meals were on all recent visits I’ve been there. The kids area was DISGUSTING with food and food packets all over the floor and was not cleaned during the hour and 15 minutes being there. The men’s locks on cubicles are also broken which isn’t ideal. There’s clearly been a change in management in the past few months as experiences have never been bad until recently and it’s quite an uncomfortable environment in there now. Would not recommend eating here to anyone.

Really good food and great value for money.

Used to be a great place for an evening meal, last night went f around 7ish and ordered shortly after, 5 mins later waitress came over to say they would be a small delay in our food coming as they had a few bigger tables, not an issue however once an hour had passed and no food had arrived we decided to ask to see what was going on, to be met with they are just platting up, when the food did finally turn up 10 mins later it was lukewarm at most, burger bun had dried out on top completely guessing from the hot plate, the chicken tenders and popcorn chicken was hard and chewy, the egg from the gammon was rock solid and could’ve been used as a frisbee, the flatbread for the new kebab was rock hard in places and chewy in others, the side of garlic bread was very undercooked and not even crispy around the edge or slightly toasted, we had no check backs and when we did take the garlic bread back the bar staff said that doesn’t looked cook, and did apologise and refund the money for that item, the bar woman who cleared our table didn’t ask how the meal was and when asked to make a complaint they just handed us some review cards, wouldn’t waste my money here again!!

Quite a regular here now the staff are really friendly especially Scarlett she has served us several times and is always really helpful she was absolutely amazing she has good knowledge of the menu and usually manages to talk us into puddings especially the blood orange brownie , can tell you it was fab !!!!!

We came back to the Station Garden after a while and we are nicely surprised. Great customer service, very kind and polite (Jess and Paisley doing amazing job 😀). Food was delicious: crispy BBQ wings, The ultimate Spicy Beef Burger just spicy enough with juicy meat, Surf&Turf crazy combination of rump steak and scamp 😁

My partner and I had an incredibly disappointing evening at Station Garden. The meats served were disappointingly chewy, throwing off the entire meal's enjoyment. The Gammon steak my partner ordered was excessively salty, altering the dish's flavor in a negative way. It was evident that the beef had been reheated, which significantly impacted its freshness. Adding to the letdown were the cold and hard vegetables. Vegetables are meant to enhance a meal, but their suboptimal temperature and texture detracted from the overall experience. In a concerning moment, there was a point when I thought my filling might pop out, raising a valid safety concern. In summary, our visit to Station Garden tonight left much to be desired. The chewy meats, overly salty Gammon steak, reheated beef, and issues with the vegetables and my filling collectively made for a disappointing dining experience. I hope this feedback serves as valuable insights for improvement, as constructive criticism is essential for the betterment of any establishment. I trust that addressing these issues will contribute to a more positive experience for future diners.

Fab Sunday lunch for several adults and kids. The Roasts were particularly good and very generous. Bar and table service was friendly and efficient. Good play area for the kids as well and a dog friendly establishment. Overall a very enjoyable experience.

The new land lady Jess is amazing nothing is too much trouble. She always has time for the customers and the bar staff are all great at there jobs especially Dave when he dose the quizz nights. The pub is much more enjoyable since Jess has taken over and we enjoy going there for food and drinks. NYE was a great night for the whole family.

Shockingly bad service. Steaks were over cooked, mushrooms were missing, staff did not seem to care about anything we fed back. One meal arrived 30 minutes after all other meals. Customer care should be you absolute priority, but it is seriously lacking in this establishment

Great pub, great atmosphere. Staff are great and deliver efficient service even during busy periods. In particular Paisley, Scarlet and Jorja are great behind the bar.

I was very impressed with the overall experience. In my online booking I had asked for a quiet corner table and we were given this - great for me and a very elderly gentleman. It was brilliant to have a “lighter bites” menu and the food was well cooked and really tasty. The staff were friendly and professional. It was also warm inside and i noticed (when I went to the loo) that families with children were all seated on the other side. I don’t know if this was just a coincidence, or the pub’s policy, but IMO this is a really good idea, as so often in pubs and restaurants I get frustrated with noisy groups when I want a quiet meal. I often take relatives out for a pub meal in Didcot and this was the best one so far 😊

It's clean and tidy and always served with a smile. But the food is unfortunately lacking each time I go.

Nice pub was quiet when we visited about lunchtime on Boxing Day. Had to wait a while for someone to appear behind the bar, but otherwise, all was fine.

We ordered here today as a table of three plus a baby. We ordered two mega mixed grills, with rare steaks, one was medium at best, the other blue, both chewy and vile. Parts of the inside of the sausage was raw while the outside was burnt, meaning they weren’t cooked correctly and just left on a high heat, untended while cooking. Sausages are pretty simple to cook. We also ordered a smoky bbq pizza, with added bacon, red peppers and red onion. When this arrived it was missing the pulled chicken and the bbq drizzle, when corrected by the kitchen they gave us jalapeños on the pizza which weren’t asked for the begin with and missed off the bacon. The pizza wasn’t even worth eating as even the dough was terrible. The kids meal we ordered was from the under 5’s menu, was simply pork sausages with gravy, a side of mini potato waffle and cucumber and carrot sticks. They couldn’t even get this right and missed the gravy from the main portion of the meal. This meal has left us all feeling nauseated, and was a waste of our money and time.

i come in every sunday and the food and service is always unreal! love the atmosphere and the staff. would recommend.

Apart from the undesrtandably long wait time due to a large party, our experience was excellent as usual: Food was delicious as always. Was disappointed that the jumbo prawn fries have been discontinued as that was a big attraction in Station Garden

Good service, good food, friendly staff

I've had some nice food and experiences here in the past, but yesterday the service was abysmal! They were clearly under staffed (it happens and can't be helped) and we were told food would take an hour due to several large parties turning up for lunch (not a problem, we were in no rush), but I don't think it's an excuse for the unhelpful and even hostile service we received. There was a lady who appeared to be in charge, the manager perhaps? She was absolutely lovely. Chatty, friendly, spot on service from her, seems like she actually cared. The waitress and barman however were awful. Utterly miserable, like they didn't want to be there and so unfriendly and unhelpful. The barman gave us the wrong flavour J2O, which we just accepted since he had opened it and we didn't want to make a fuss. On ordering a coffee he slapped an overfilled mug on the bar which spilled everywhere. I had to ask for a saucer (which don't fit the cups properly so ended up being pointless) because there's no way I was getting that back to the table without spilling it, and got a dirty look before he resentfully retrieved one for me. Ordered the sharer BBQ cauliflower, specifically advertised as "2 adult portions" but what came was very small, definitely not for 2. We noticed there was a cheaper, starter version of the same dish and wondered if we'd been brought the wrong thing. We queried this with the waitress who said she had no idea and would have to check the table order. Never saw her again, she didn't come back to let us know either way, couldn't care less. After 20 minutes my husband told the barman about the situation. He came over to take a look, shrugged and said it was the correct size (Station Garden, if that's true you need to sort the portion sizes, that was NOT 2 adult portions), either way it would have been nice for this to have resolved properly by the waitress we enquired with. A friend order Hunter's Chicken and a different chicken dish arrived. When she complained the barman eventually came over in a huff to see what the issue was and just couldn't understand the problem. He eventually took it back when she asked him too, just everything about his demeanor was hostile and unfriendly. It was like dealing with a sulky teenager. I appreciate things can be stressful when you're understaffed and rushed off your feet, but a) the manager was still able to smile and be friendly, b) the chef was probably rushed off his feet for sure, but the bar wasn't that busy, in fact the barman spent most of his time chatting to an elderly chap in a hat at the end of the bar. All smiles for him. Apparently it's just all the other customers this guy can't stand. Won't be going back to this place until the barman sorts his attitude out.

Table of 11 ordered Christmas Lunch for our Karate Group. The food was awful, not cooked, cold I had crisp pieces of Turkey.

Slow service, the food was clearly frozen foods.. the mash was smash potato on a roast, we will never return. Would not recommend

visited the other day to come in for a meal and the staff were all very friendly and helpful with any questions i had about the food and menu, the service was amazing and all the food came quickly and was really good. Would definitely recommend to anyone who is in the area and wants to have a nice meal surrounded by a good environment

Usually quite happy in this pub, unfortunately just lately I've visited and found the bar staff to be very rude and dismissive.

The bar staff are awesome, particularly Dave, Paisley and Sonny. There have been recent improvements in the food. The team is the heart of the pub, they help run quizzes with the regulars and know the clientelle well, as well as being super welcoming to new customers like my family. They're so attentive and happy to talk to everyone. Also, the weekly Sunday pub quizzes are super fun are firm fixtures on my calendar. (7.30 start!) Would recommend for hearty food and plentiful drinks for families, watching matches with mates, quizzes, post-sports refreshments, darts, discos, karaoke and everything in between! My only suggestion would be to upgrade the adult games section to include a pool table so we can join our local leagues! 🍻

The vegetarian roast was lovely but if you're a meat eater then for the roast dinner you're going to be disappointed with just one slice of roast beef 😞 The waitress were lovely though.

Recently visited for a family meal with our young children. Staff were incredibly welcoming; friendly and accomodating and service was prompt. Ambience of the pub was lovely, and the food itself was delicious. Already booked a table leading up to the Chrismas period with family and have no hesitation that our next visit will be as lovely.
