The best restaurants in Cowbridge The Vale of Glamorgan South East

We went here following glowing reviews on social media and here on trip advisor. Very disappointed with our lunch. You have to order at the bar and pay include the tip without the knowledge that they earned it! Our lunch which was from the small plate menu Lamb, and portion of chips. It took 40 minutes to arrive even after a reminder. others near us had theirs served before us even though we had arrived first. We sat on a table in the middle of the restaurant. We seemed to be isolated, window seats on larger tables were available but not to a 2. We quite often find this in some establishments but are usually offered a better table when requested. When we left 6 customers left. Oh dear, we shan't be back. By the way we find the shop also expensive. Other deli's offer more and better value.

We been here before all way pop in if we in the area. Good customer service from staff. We had breakfast for is lush. Do recommend coming but book first.IIt very easy to book on there web site & we also got 10% off it is very popular place There also shop which good local food. Big garden area outside so kids run around and eat there carpark is big so no problem parking.

Beautiful pub in lovely surroundings. Sunday Lunch with family, three vegetarians and three meat eaters. Vegetarian meals absolutely revolting. All meals slathered in hideous gelatinous gravy. Worst meal I have been served in a long time. No compensation offered despite complaining about food. Sadly would not return.

Very helpful and polite staff! Nice coffee and birthday cake FREE! This is a standout branch as far as Costa are concerned. It's busy every time I visit. Table's could be a little cleaner is my only negative and that was because we wanted a window seat 💺. All good for me, I will return!

The Bear is a much loved , respected and popular venue with locals and visitors alike . We stayed two nights in a very pleasant room with all the expected facilities in the en-suite room . The bar areas and the function room were excellent, the staff were really polite and helpful , a thoroughly enjoyable stay .

Very nice staff and good atmosphere; background music is great. Dog friendly. Plenty of outdoor seating. Good position for a cuppa and cake while out and about in Cowbridge. Now offering fine foodfayre from the M&S range of delectables alongside the usual delectable selectables. Link your Waitrose card to the Nero app for some extra little benefits.

I visited for breakfast and was initially impressed by how nice everything looked. I ordered the American pancakes with added bacon, but unfortunately, they were so tough that even my knife couldn’t cut through them. I waited for someone to check on my meal, and when they finally did, I explained the issue. Instead of handling it professionally, they responded poorly, saying, “Well, why didn’t you say anything?” in a harsh tone when I was doing so, and telling him? And my friend was still eating. It had been 2 minutes. My plate was then taken away, and I was asked if I wanted cake instead. I agreed, assuming it was a goodwill gesture. However, when it came time to pay, I was charged for both my inedible meal and the cake. When I pointed out that I hadn’t eaten my breakfast because it was poor quality, the man serving me lacked any empathy, and was very uptight about charging me. Overall, a really disappointing experience with poor service. There was a young lady who served initially and she was really lovely and is commendable.

Terrible meal hunt the mushroom in the mushroom fried rice and madras was an acidic tomato sauce with no real taste. This is the second poor takeaway in a few months used to be really good but gone down hill.

Disappointing! We had Sunday lunch here. Had prebooked via facebook messenger, which they had confirmed, but they still weren't expecting us when we arrived. Sat us at a little table on a platform. Very old tired, grubby furniture. Stained and torn chairs. Glasses weren't clean. Service overall, was just ok. Very young girls serving who did their best. Food took quite a while to come out despite it not being that busy when we ordered, the veg and gravy arriving much earlier than the rest of the dinner. Food was extremely basic and rather bland. No dessert menu, the waitress verbally gave us 2 choices! Never experienced that before. Overpriced for what it was. The place needs an overhaul, a good clean and refurbishment, along with tastier food. Disappointing. We won't return.

We called here for coffee. The music was so loud that we thought we were in disco? When mention to girl totally in different. Give this place a miss

Another fabulous Sunday lunch at Harry's Cowbridge. Excellent food and service. Looking forward to next time already.
