Excellent coffee ( flat white) and delicious nachos! Just right for a light lunch.

Such a lovely meal. The vegan burger went down very well with my wife, she said it was exceptional. My Zain burger was tasty, although I'd upgrade next time to something else. Good atmosphere and friendly staff.

This is a lovely restaurant, comfortable seating and nice design. Although the starter options/salads are really nice the burgers were almost un-edible and pretty tasteless. I hate to give a bad review but the prices aren't cheap and we all expected better. It was incredibly disappointing. With such a limited menu they should strive to make what they have fanastic.

Always a pleasure to eat or just take a coffee here. UPDATE: Yes, has changed. It's closed and has been since the start of the pandemic ~ two years ago now! Will it ever re-open? Nobody knows! 🤷🏻‍♂️ Except possibly the owner 🤔🤔🤔 UPDATE JUNE 2022: Despite rumours that Oscar's has reopened, each time I have driven by in the last few days the premises have clearly been closed with no lights on inside.

A big shame that the menu is now so limited when the offerings were so poor. Undercooked halloumi, watery cheese sauce and dry burgers. We were big fans of oscars before the pandemic and wanted to support them on re opening but offering badly cooked food has really spoilt it.

Been here lots of times over the years and the food is always lovely, staff very friendly and great pace to go on a weekend evening.

We had our works Christmas meal here Booking and subsequent emails and phone calls was good, though sometimes a bit slow getting back on the emails. Very accommodating Staff were friendly when i went in to pay deposit The atmosphere on the day was nice. We were seated (11 of us) in the cubby sort of area. Table was presented festively and looked really good Food off the Christmas menu was outstanding Staff were friendly on the day The only thing i could point out is they only have one toilet and the alcohol is fairly expensive. Overall a great time had by all 11 of us. No complaints

Nice place, nice food, maybe a bit over priced

Well what can I say about Oscars other than outstanding food, service and staff.Very extensive vegan menu and cater for pretty much everyone.Massive portions, so make sure that you have a big appetite.Four of us had burgers with my wife and I having the vegan option which was delicious.My wife and I also had the vegan sharing nachos for starters, but beware, the portion size is not for the faint hearted.What struck me especially about this place were the friendly and happy smiling staff.Great place to eat and I will be returning.Wholeheartedly recommend this establishment

Popped in on the off chance early evening around 5pm restaurant was rather busy but was kindly given a table straight away . We opted for the festive menu as everything looked amazing . We went for the starter and main at £22 and it was worth it . Crispy chicken and bubble prawns as starters well presented and a generous portion . Mains we had beef brisket ( melted in my mouth ) and festive burger .Food was 10/10.Staff where very friendly and efficent and couldn't do enough for us .We will definitely be back .

Myself and a few colleagues had a Christmas meal today, and I looked forward to seeing the vegetarian options available. It can be difficult to find good options around Christmas time that feel festive, so was pleased to see that there were a few good options available. I spotted the 'cauliflower steak' which, for the uninitiated, is a slice of cauliflower. It was served with green beans and a sauce for the sum of a little over £14. That's £14 for a slice of cauliflower. Out of interest I flicked through the menu to see how much was being charged for a 'real' steak, and was surprised to see that it would be cheaper for me to eat a beef steak (£13 something) than a slice of cauliflower. How you manage to justify this pricing is astonishing, or even arrive at the £14 figure anyway. You can currently buy a whole cauliflower in Tesco for 29p.

Nice food. Generally staff really friendly apart from a miserable dark haired girl. Not sure that the lager we were given was peroni.

Went for a family celebration. Everyone enjoyed their food whether burger or vegan. Waitress very helpful with dietary requirements. Checked with chef came back with sensible answers and made accommodations. Also checked when she thought we had ordered something in error. This was all in a very busy restaurant. Good experience so definitely will be back.

How amazing to stumble across a restaurant that actually has the balls to serve a flank steak, perfectly! Such a rare find these days... Tried my mate’s lamb rump which was cooked rosé, as it should be! Tasted great, salsa verde was the perfect accompaniment. The staff were amazing and really looked after us and our children, had a great night, thank you, will deffo be back!!

Next door to the Bear hotel, Oscar's is a lovely restaurant with excellent choice of meals including vegan and vegetarian. Good wines, too. Enjoyable atmosphere and helpful staff made for a very pleasant night out.

Great place to havnt been for a while soon to be rectified

My husband and I Went there for breakfast. Ordered Bagles and coffee. The Coffee came then Bagles came and we were mortified!!! The bagels had mild on them and were rock hard as they were obviously old!

Food here is excellent. Warm welcome with great service. Will definitely be returning .

This is an amazing food experience wether you are a meat eater, vegetarian or vegan. There are the normal run of the mill cocktails plus some unusual ones as well. The coffee is fabulous they have their own blend and it is so smooth. Friendly staff great service.

Lovely little place, great staff, great atmosphere and great food. We opted for a healthy superfood salad which was delicious! Will definitely revisit!

Decided to go to Oscars after my wife had her hair styled at Marooned hair dressers . We liked it’s new interior and found it relaxed and interesting. The Staff were very attentive, and discussed the options on the menu. From club sandwiches and different burger combinations. We had a pleasant time and felt relaxed with the service. The price of the meal was fair and well delivered. If your looking for somewhere to eat this could be the place.

I walked in hoping for some vegan options and they have a full plant base menu,!!!! Everything was delicious and a super service . If I stayed more days I LL be there always. Amazing

It was a lovely sunny evening and staying at The Bear Hotel in Cowbridge with a couple of friends needed somewhere for an early evening meal with a couple of friends. This restaurant is sited next to The Bear, right in the middle of Cowbridge High Street.

Went for a meal with my Fiancee on a Saturday. Had booked ahead for a 6pm seating. Easy to find on Cowbridge high street. Short walk from the main car park. Nice seating options with 2 rooms and outdoor seating as a choice. Found staff attentive and helpful. Good selection of drinks including many non alcoholic choices for drivers. Service was quick with suitable spacing between selections to enable food to be enjoyed. Pricing was reasonable and not excessive. Good portion sizes. Enjoyed all meal selections. Would recommend and would go back.

I would highly recommend Oscars, the staff are friendly, the food is fresh and flavoursome.... it's great for lunch, dinner or even a drink sat outside watching the world go by..... Great venue in cowbridge I would highly recommend.

Went to Oscar's for the first time. We were a little wary because of the recent review in February but actually we had a lovely meal. In response the MrsCR2014 review.. Yes we were here a couple of hours but not because the service was slow, because food takes time to be cooked well and the table service saw that we were out for a meal enjoying ourselves and left us to it! Also yes, the staff did talk but in this industry its crucial to get on with your team! It was a lovely meal from start to finish, cooked really well, a good selection on the menu including a separate menu for vegans. Lovely atmosphere and great background music. Looks like they make amazing cocktails also. Staff were efficient and friendly. Would definitely go back! Only thing I would like to see is more salad on menu

Have come here several times. Latest visit ended in 2 out of our 3 meals being sent back. Not good but staff were understanding and refund was made. Apparently they're "between chefs". Hopefully this will be resolved and I can once again give 5*...

Oscar’s is such a vibrant place to sit and eat food. The decor is a colourful modern take on 70s design. Oh... and then there’s the food.

Nice place and great coffee. The service was really good and quick. The staff are very friendly and make you feel like you have been before. Food really good.

We met some friends for what we thought would be a light lunch,but we're so impressed with the menu that we ended up ordering a lovely lunch which was served by very friendly staff and was delicious

Popular bar serving excellent tapas and a wide variety of cocktails and Spanish beers. Not to forget spanish wine, sherries and brandy

It was half term and we visited Cowbridge for a shopping afternoon and a look around ( 5 of us including 2 children ). We were still there at 6pm, so we decided to eat. We were advised by a friendly shop assistant to try Oscars. We had a really lovely meal served by enthusiastic waitresses. Lovely surroundings and buzzing atmosphere. My grandson has diabetes type 1 , and when we asked for his 2 courses to be brought together, it was no problem. Everyone of us enjoyed everything. We will certainly be returning and recommending.

Visited Oscar's by chance. It was busy throughout our visit which is always a dead give away.

This is an informal and welcoming destination for an evening meal. We booked in advance as the menu attracted us, especially the generous vegetarian choice which looked interesting and varied. Our judgement was vindicated by both food quality and portion size, which was the unanimous verdict of our party of six. The nachos starter was particularly generous and flavoursome.

Nice food let down by exceptionally slow service. Main course and coffee took over two hours. We were not in any particular rush and the staff were friendly enough but seemed to be more interested in chatting to each other rather than serving us.

Delicious food and good customer service. Only received cash on the day we went but think that's because the card machine was down

I found this great little place about 3 years ago. I had been looking for somewhere to go when I stayed in South Wales. Oscars is a lovely friendly restaurant, full of people celebrating birthdays , friends meeting up, just a good atmosphere, friendly staff and affordable prices. Food is excellent.

Quirky little place. I had cauliflower soup which was nice enough. They had a wonderful selection of teas. We felt it was good value for money.

Always love coming here and excellent friendly staff and atmosphere. I would have give it 5 out 5 but noticed tonight that the nachos sharing starter were smaller than normal and the burgers smaller especially the chicken one . I would rather pay more and enjoy the meals more . They looked almost like child burgers the amount of chicken in them . It’s still a great restaurant on my regular list to go too

Really love the vibe of this place and although it is very popular, service is still quick and efficient. Great food at fair prices. The menu is thoughtful with good vegetarian and vegan options.

As the rain and winds battered Cowbridge, we took a break from Christmas shopping and called into Oscars for a spot of lunch. Buzzy atmosphere, friendly service and a great meal from the Christmas menu: delicious carrot, coriander and ginger soup and a festive burger topped with pulled turkey. Perfect way to keep dry and keep out of the Christmas madness.

We are new parents and were looking for a place to eat on the fly while the baby was sleeping. The staff were really helpful, welcoming and accommodating with our pram.

I hadn't been to Oscar's for a few years but it was as pleasant as ever with good food and attentive staff. It is a nice place for lunch or for an evening meal. It has room for large parties. The menu is interesting and caters for vegetarians.

Good place for chatty dinner with friends

This restaurant has fantastic ambiance and provides exceptional service. We had tacos to share as a starter - extremely well presented with a good selection of sauces etc. We then had wraps (3 duck and 1 chicken) - again superb.

Had lovely lunch with a friend here. Really lovely place to sit and chat and enjoy watching the world go by on Cowbridge High Street. Service couldn't have been better ... and the gin ... wow! Loved it. Loved it so much ... went back a week later :)

I regularly visit here and have never had a bad meal. Service is great, food is delicious and a really lovely restaurant. If you are in Cowbridge then I highly recommend a visit here.

Every time that I visit Cowbridge I end up in Oscars. Being vegetarian and preferring gluten free, I'm not the easiest person to feed, however, I find I have a good choice here and the food is healthy and delicious. Service is always very good.

This was a lunchtime visit. I chose Sea Salt Chilli Duck With Gem Lettuce, Spring Onion & BBQ Sauce £7.95 with a side order of Triple Cooked Chips £3.50. The presentation was very good and tasted delicious. We chose a bottle of Cal Y Canto Red La Mancha, Spain £16.95 which complimented the meal well. The service was good and friendly.

From booking the table to being bid farewell the friendly and warm customer service was top notch. A good varied menu -especially as 3 of us are vegetarian - left us all very happy and full. Relaxed enough to play a game with kids while we waited - would recommend to anyone wanting tasty food in a warm and welcoming environment.

Arrived before the other guests in our party but made to feel welcome with no pressure to order anything before others arrived. The menu had a good selection of food. There was a good choice of vegetarian meals I think there was a separate vegan menu The portion size was good The staff were friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was relaxing and quiet even though the establishment was quiet busy.

The staff and the service they gave was amazing, very attentive and friendly. Lunch was absolutely delicious. Had the goats cheese light bite and sweet potato fries with an amazing aioli. My friend had the honey chicken skewers. Also very reasonably priced menu. Lots of choice, excellent for meat eaters and vegetarians. Decor really funky, nice and clean, genuinely can’t fault it. Can’t wait to go back.

I went here yesterday in the day with family and I have to say the service and food was really good.

Had a very pleasant meal here. I was slightly underwhelmed by my salmon pasta and eton mess sundae. But everyone else enjoyed their meals. Friendly efficient service and a good atmosphere.

Love this little place. My better half and myself wanted to try the new starter menu on a Wednesday night. (3 starters and a side for £15) couldn’t have been more satisfied after tasting all our selections. Was fantastic value. The food was exquisite and there were so many flavours. Can’t wait to go again to try a few more.
