Not sure what has happened here - whether they have new owners or money issues but much has changed in the last few months. The quality of the meals has dropped significantly along with some items that they would usually serve with the meals and coffee. This used to be a lovely place that my wife always visited when in Cowbridge. Alas no more visits here.

I am a local and a regular customer at the cafe and go there at least once a week. Recently I have noticed customers are taken for granted and there is no way to speak with the manager. For example, a smoked salmon and avocado bagel is priced at £8.5 with a waiting time of 25 minutes (minimum!). After 25 minutes of waiting the waitress comes and says we have run out of avocado are you OK if we replace it with chopped tomato? I reluctantly say yes and think about the price difference between avocado and tomato! and whether or not they will give me some money back (there is even no offer of get your money back). Few minutes later, the plate turns up with one bagel sitting in the middle, a modest slice of smoked salmon and sliced tomato. No side salad, no crisps nothing! I make an effort to support a local cafe and this is how the managing team respond to the local support. I find this behaviour insulting and unacceptable.

Popped in here. Ordered 2 coffees and 2 custard slices. The bill came to over £16. Worked it out that it cost £4.50 for each custard slice. Outrageous prices! Recommend avoiding as all you get is a hefty bill and a view of a waitrose store roof that definitely needs a power wash. I know prices have gone up but these prices were appalling!

I've been to Aroma cafe quite a lot recently when my daughter has a class in Cowbridge. I keep returning as I am dairy and soya free due to my babies allergy (breastfeeding her so meets I have to avoid as well) and the staff are always so accommodating and helpful, particularly Rebecca who I feel goes above and beyond. The food is good, there are plenty of savoury options and drinks for me and I feel safe eating there from an allergy perspective so I'd recommend to others Also - always cafe is very clean and well presented, toilets always clean.

As soon as we entered the cafe, we were welcomed with a heart warming smile from the waitress, Rebecca. Being both gluten free and dairy free, going out for breakfast is always a task - but I was spoilt for choice! Again, with cakes (for a 3 hour trip home, not at 9am😂) there is usually little to know choice - but Rebecca (the fabulous waitress) provided multiple options and even helped me choose! Lovely waitress, lovely service and lovely food! 10/10!

My partner and I decided to indulge in a breakfast and coffee at Aroma. We decided to have a full English breakfast even tho the price was quite expensive (£8.25). We both don’t like mushrooms so kindly requested to swap them for a different item but this was declined to my shock! I thought it was a fair request when we were paying that amount for a breakfast!!! We were offered any sauces to accompany our breakfast and were very shocked to receive a thimble of red & brown sauce!!! When our coffees were served we were offered any sugar in which the waitress rationed & gave us one sachets each instead of leaving the bowl on our table. I will not be returning here for a coffee or a breakfast again!!!!

Went for a coffee today- although there is a variety of cakes and a good selection on the menu the current system of service doesn't seem to run so smoothly. Had to wait ages to be served as only one customer was allowed at the till at one point which is fine considering our current situation but if you are sitting outside and are waiting to go in to order it seems that those customers seated inside think it's ok to push in front of you even though they can see there's a queue- had this happen twice before I was served which can be quite frustrating.

If you have to sit near the counter, just hope that the staff do NOT have to make too many Smoothies or Frappes( I think those are the drinks that require the noisy machine) as there is a very loud unpleasant row from the counter area.As far as the food goes, ok is as good as it gets. I had the Bacon and Brie toasted sandwich and have to say that I have possibly been spoilt at The Windsor Cafe in Penarth as well as The Radyr Golf club, for both establishments serve a more generous portion and for less money. However, when in Cowbridge, one has to eat in Cowbridge.

The service was friendly and no problems there but was quite shocked when 2 drinks and 2 cookies came to £12.50 taking into consideration their size. Went to order breakfast, just poached eggs, beans and toast and it came to over £7 which I thought was ridiculous and makes other Cafes in Cowbridge look cheap. My toast was covered in vinegar and beans were tasteless and half cold and my company agreed. My fiancé and I visited for breakfast a couple of Saturdays ago. He ordered the full English which wasn’t bad but I made the mistake of ordering bacon and scrambled eggs and the eggs were dreadful: overcooked and rubbery, and I’m guessing made in the microwave. I couldn’t eat them, but no-one came to check if our food was ok so I left hungry! Also they supposedly offer white or granary toast but they didn’t have granary, only brown. Prices are a bit steep - I don’t mind paying if the food is good, but when I can cook better myself at home it leaves me feeling ripped off. We won’t return.

This little cafe is situated just by Waitrose carpark in Cowbridge. I have been here on numerous occasions, and have sampled a variety of dishes from the menu, all of which I have really enjoyed. They appear to have a great selection of cakes, which all look delicious, but I have never tried them so can't comment unfortunately. The decor of the cafe is very warm and cosy, and provides a great retreat from the wet welsh weather. The staff have always been polite and welcoming. The pricing of the actual menu is a little high for what you actually get, but the quality is good and I am always willing to pay a little more to ensure a nice meal. I have met up with friends and babies on numerous occasions here, and the children's menu is very good. However, its a struggle sometimes to manoeuvre several pushchairs through the limited space between tables. It also causes problems when other customers try to pass you. One big downside for children is that, though there is a designated 'play area' with books, crayons and toys etc. to keep children entertained, they were all of really poor quality. Ripped books, broken toys and a limited selection of blunt pencils. This issue could fairly easily and cheaply be resolved - there are many charity shops in the area selling quality toys & books, and crayons can be purchased for a very reasonable price. I would go so far as to say this issue brings the overall quality of the experience at this venue down greatly. Everything else is spot-on i.e. cleanliness, service, food quality.

Visited on Sunday morning. My only concern, was the many cyclists who visit this venue without a thought or consideration for others, and the lack of respect to the owners, as they all crowded in for a coffee/cake with very muddy backsides after cycling through many rural lanes, with the weather being pretty wet.... I think its just not on, of course the staff cannot say anything as they would lose their custom, but its just disrespectful...and blocking the pavements outside is pretty selfish too, someone in a mobile scooter who have no chance of getting through, there were 5/6 bikes all parked together, making it impossible to walk on the path, we had no option than to walk on the road.

We visited today on my wife's recommendation. It's situated in a 'new' building on the site of what used to be Bird's Garden Centre in the heart of Cowbridge (now adjoining a Waitrose supermarket). New on the outside but thoughtfully decorated inside using 'antique' style furniture and fittings. On the walls, old photographs of the area maintain a bit of a link to the passed history of Cowbridge. The tables are well spaced, so even when it got busy it didn't feel crowded. You choose your table and then order at the counter. The food is them waitress served. The menu included several vegetarian options, which was good as my wife doesn't eat meat.Poached egg on toast for around five or six pound though was a bit expensive. I ordered Pancakes which came with a poached egg and crispy bacon and maple syrup. Not a massive portion but again around six pound.Although this wouldn't necessarily put me off going back there. The cakes seemed to be better value. A large Custard Slice (enough to share) was just under £3. And the offerings of cake served to other diners seemed very generous too.The decor is welcoming and different. Walls covered with old mirrors, old advertising signs and prints, with wooden floorboard effect flooring. Each of the tables and chairs were different. Some old stout wooden kitchen tables and some marble topped all added to make a quant and comfortable setting. The uniformed staff were friendly and efficient and the service was very prompt. It's not a greasy spoon and it's not a 'plastic' fast food or coffee house chain. It sits quaintly in-between the two and is well worth a visit.

My favourite coffee shop in Cowbridge. I always recommend this place to anyone who asks. The atmosphere is great and the staff are always friendly. I love the coffee they serve and it is consistently good.

Third and last time to this cafe - really impressed the first time not so the 2nd time and not at all 3rd visit. Almost £20 for two omelettes with a handful of cold chips- 1/8th tomato and few wilted pieces cress!! A coffee (which was really good) and tea for one! The chips looked as tho they had given up the will to live - complained and some more were served really hot and very quickly. Omelette quite dry even with the help of cheese! Where have the mini fryers gone? lacking presentation.

Good menu, including plenty of choice for children. Didn't have to wait too long for our food. Jacket potato was very nice. They keep a small selection of toys and books for children. This kept my daughter entertained. Worth a visit if you're shopping in Cowbridge.

As a Large family visiting the area I can't thank you enough for being so helpfull in not only seating the 10 of us at rush hour but also being so attentive to our special needs son who is gluton intolerant. I have never and I mean never experienced such a thought full and accommodating establishment in making sure that our experience was one to be remembered. Thank you so much! Ps the grub was great too!

We decided to eat here after reading the good reviews big mistake! I had a chicken salad and my friend a smoked salmon salad, the chicken was dry, rubbery and tasted fishy (clearly out of date) the portion size was ridiculous a small amount of lettuce not even a handful maybe 4/5 circles of chicken, some sour dressing drizzled over the top, a soggy ring of pepper slopped on the top, soggy cucumber and tomato and some pickle tasting red onion, not fresh at all! Oh and did i mention the stale half a baguette on the side. My friends salad was not much better fishy tasting salmon and some stale brown bread! Staff clearly do not care! I did speak to the waitress about our meal and got attitude about it stating that the chef said it was all fresh no reason to taste like that (so were we lying?) Over priced! Stay clear much better places to eat in cowbridge!

The first visit here was very good, had the burger and it was delicious, frequent visits were made but then the recipe /consistency changed and I am sorry to say the burgers were very poor, obviously different chef or different supplier.Pie of the day has always been corned beef when I have been there and whilst it is good, on my last visit it was a smaller portion and at a guess, I would say microwaved, sorry but I believe for the price that is not acceptable, especially the meagre slice that I was given. The staff have always been very polite and the service the majority of the time has been good. Will I visit again? Not for a while I think.

My son and I have been using this lovely little cafe in Cowbridge for quite some time now. The staff and service is excellent, and all the food is home made and delicious. The prices are extremely good value, and I recommend this cafe to those who fancy a nice meal with or without the family.

We popped in here for a quick cup of something whilst in Cowbridge for the Vale of Glamorgan Farmer's Market - a good find. It was full up when we arrived but the really helpful waitress (manageress maybe?) suggested that if we waited a table would soon become available, she was really cheerful and sure enough it wasn't long before we got a table. All the food we saw being served looked really good and our baked potatoes were spot on. Mine came with the tuna whilst my wife had the baked beans with cheese option. Both nicely presented and with a small side salad. Really tasty and substantial. The pot of tea for two came with additional hot water and the offer of more hot water and milk if we wanted it. It was £15 for the two of us but given the quality and quantity this didn't seem unreasonable. Nice atmosphere and great staff. Will definitely be going back next time we're in Cowbridge.

My wife and I had brunch there yesterday. She had the pancakes with maple syrup and bacon and I made my own breakfast. The food was great. The pancakes are very thick and the bacon crispy. The breakfast was good, although next time will order 2 sausages. £1 buys you one. I ordered a cappuccino which wasn't the best one that I'd ever had, but the food, ambiance and service made up for it. I will definitely go again. Parking is also easy.

We stopped off in Cowbridge for a quick lunch yesterday (Sunday). Saw a Cafe Nero as we parked up in Waitrose but spotted this place a few doors down so thought we would give it a go instead of a large chain establishment. Glad we did as the decor was lovely, old fashioned tables&chairs, window seats with cosy cushions etc... and the staff were very friendly. There was plenty of food & beverage choice and breakkie is served all day. Being a veggie, I find it is difficult to find places which serve decent veggie sausages but these were good, the mushrooms were also delicious. It came with toast and as a tomato hater, I was glad there were none in sight although there is an option to make up your own breakfast choice and you can opt for them there. The cakes on display looked very tempting but I was too full after the breakfast to try any. My fiance had a pulled pork roll which came with a choice of fries although it wasn't a brioche bun as advertised. Nice little cafe and I would definitely go again, yeah it was a little pricey but no more than Costa for example. The only downsides, if you are being mega picky were that if it is a sunny day (very unusual in the UK I know) it can be blinding if you are in the window seats facing outwards as I don't think there are any blinds. Also, there is only one toilet which opens directly off the cafe right at the back of the seating area and you have to wait outside near other diners if it is occupied plus you can hear the chain flushing/hand drier so try to avoid sitting here if it isn't busy perhaps.

Cosy atmosphere, papers, very popular and so busy. The downside was a wait of 40 minutes at lunchtime for an all day breakfast. I had pancakes, bacon and egg which was well presented and had quality ingredients. Very tasty. Slightly on the expensive side maybe at £15 approx for a full breakfast, my pancakes and a pot if tea for two. Good location opposite Waitrose.

We found this very pricey for the food and drink on offer. It cost over £11 for a cup of tea, a small latte and two pieces of cake! The cake was edible not too sweet but nothing special but didn't justify the price. The surroundings were pleasant and the food hygiene was 5, so very good. The menu choices were not clear at all and as other reviews have mention there were no prices on the cake displays. I know many places in Cowbridge are over priced because they can get away with it, but it left a sour taste knowing you've over paid for what was average fare. Next time we visit Cowbridge we'll seek out somewhere else

Visited today on a friend's recommendation. I'm really fussy about cooked breakfast but this was really good - quality sausages & bacon. Full breakfast was priced reasonably at £6.25 but I particularly liked the 'build your own' option. If I was being really picky (& I do tend to be when it comes to breakfast) it could be improved by having warm plates, putting the beans on the plate last & not putting the beans next to the tomato or toast on the plate - not a fan of beans running onto the toast. Yes, very picky...I would definitely go back. The service was warm & friendly; the decor sets it apart from other formulaic coffee shop chains & the menu has something for everyone. Have to say that other people's lunches looked lovely too & they have a fantastic choice of cakes.

Considering it's a new building the decor is really interesting. The food is freshly cooked, really good menu, appealing to men especially. Service can be a bit slow when busy.

I went to Aroma Cafe on recommendation to purchase a local product.I wished for four and they only had one. The manager offered to order the remaining three and drop to a more local pick up point for me.This was the first time that I had been there and surely will not be the last. This was a service above and beyond what was expected. All of the staff I spoke to had the same positive attitude. I cannot praise this business enough.

A great alternative breakfast place in Cowbridge. I had the pancakes which came with bacon, a poached egg and maple syrup - 10/10. I also had a chocolate and peanut butter frappachino which was ok, could have had more flavour and some peanuts/chocolate added(or more) rather than just a syrup. The service is brilliant and quality of the food is high.

A very friendly and welcoming pub in the centre of Coychurch. We recently joined a family event with 50+ people and the team were organised, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The buffet food was excellent, the set up they provided for us was well presented and there was ample free parking. As a family with a toddler aged 2.5 years, we were made to feel very welcome.
