Phoned in an order and given a price. Driver turns up charges £10 more. Told the money would be returned. Didn't turn up. Phoned up again, they were too busy to deal with it and didn't return my money. Ripped Off!!!!
I’m relieved to see this establishment has closed its doors. My experience there was one of the worst I've ever encountered, especially considering I live in the area and never expected to face such blatant racism in my own community.
The owners, Jimmy and Carol, were never friendly right from the start, and it's astonishing that they managed to operate this restaurant for so long. I had often walked past it without giving it much thought, but this time I was with a few friends and thought we would give it a try. Unfortunately, the way we were treated was nothing short of appalling.
We stood in the middle of the dining area for at least 15 minutes without even a greeting. It’s hard to believe they could miss us, as there were four of us waiting. The waitstaff glanced at us several times but never made the effort to approach. I can’t help but wonder if our Asian descent played a role in their indifference. Despite the available seating, we chose to wait out of respect.
I sincerely hope they never reopen a restaurant. If they do, I hope they learn a valuable lesson in customer service.
Excellent village pub. Superb Sunday lunch with very tasty local meats. Fabulous well kept beers. Welcoming ambience in a beautiful setting. Highly recommended.
Had a lovely evening at William the Conqueror at Rye Harbour
The Greek Mezze was 18 dishes and fabulous
Each dish was different with lots of flavour
The pub was buzzing and the staff were really helpful and friendly.
This is a monthly event and will be returning
Would recommend a visit if you get the chance
We had never been to this coffee house before but had been to Rye on a number of occasions my family and i came around 1.30 pm yes it was busy as it was a Saturday but there where tables I went to order my family sat down and looked at the menu while I went to the till area to place an order as it was not clear if we where served at the table or not but we where all ignored by the staff they seemed to be plenty of them after 5 minutes + i am guessing the manager anyway he was the only Man casually dressed said if i would like to sit down and someone would take our order i said ok thank you but 10 minutes later no one had yet taken our order and another group of people who came in a few minutes afterwards got served before us even though they where just takeaway while he was trying to convince them to stay in they went of with there coffees to go us well we got nothing so we walked out it was like we where invisible. AT LEAST SAY HELLO and we will be with you a.s.a.p. no severe no smile.
