Khanz Indian Restaurant & Takeaway in Rother

I’m down on holiday and eaten here TWICE! It’s that good. I recommend the Dansak and the naan was delicious as was the sag aloo - lovely mint sauce and dips and fresh crispy poppadums. It’s a small restaurant but better than many larger ones . Friendly staff and good value - top marks 😃

Amazing food everything was so good. We were staying in a lodge up the road and they delivered it to our door. Great amazing food and service. 10/10. Recommend this Indian restaurant definitely.

Nothing but trouble. When it started raining, we were seated outside but politely requested to be allowed inside with a little Pomeranian as we had no other place to go and had already started to place our food order. The management asked us to leave the porch and go stand outside in the rain, even though I had already informed them that I intended to keep my dog in my hands. Additionally, the management did not comprehend and found my comment funny when I mentioned that I considered their behaviour homophobic. We, as queer individuals, face challenges in having children as it requires a lot of effort and investment for us to start a family. That's why same-sex couples often have small dogs, which are considered family to us. Therefore, when the manager claimed that they are personally not pet friendly, it meant that you as a host were denying me the same enjoyable experience that straight couples have. It also appeared that the manager was unaware of the existence of assistance dogs in the UK and that their request would be considered illegal if I had the appropriate license with me. Although some of the staff were quite rude and unhelpful, I'd like to express my regret if my communication seemed too blunt. I'm also genuinely sorry if the incident had a negative impact on other guests' experiences. It was the first time we encountered a situation where our dog wasn't welcome during our travels in Europe, which was unfortunate.

Terrible experience with this place! It was the only open place and we were not allowed inside with a small dog. We went out on the veranda to order food from there, but it started to rain and they wouldn't even let us go inside. It’s not pre-friendly spot :(( really sad

Terrible experience being left out on a street under the rain totally wet with nowhere to go because we got a tiny pet inside which we couldn’t leave outside alone under the rain. Besides, we were also kicked out even from the in front of the entrance place where we had a chance to stay under a tiny piece of roof under the rain. A totally offensive behavior.

Love the chicken Taba from Khanz which is hard to find anywhere. If you like spicy this is well worth trying. Updated. Been eating here for over ten years. Food is always freshly cooked which can mean a slight wait but I promise you it will be worth. Current go to dish. Tikka masala madras hot with mushroom rice. Amazing. If you're in camber then Khanz should be on the visiting list.

This place was a wonderful experience, with a very cultural surrounding - decorations, music and friendly staff. Unfortunately the food did take a bit longer than expected but that was understandable because we were a large group. Food had flavour and kick, especially their butter chicken and chicken biriyani! My favourite item was their onion bhaji. Their dessert menu consisted of mostly ice cream, such as their Ferrero Rocher, Biscoff and bubblegum flavours. Overall I would recommend this place as it is a great restaurant for people who want a little spice to their food.

The food here is great, we have had takeaway food quite a few times and it's always been good. The service is quick and they are all very friendly and polite. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Located 3 mins drive from the beach with plenty of on street parking. Cosy and clean. Prices are reasonable. Food was cooked fresh so took some time to make, but was worth the wait! There were 9 of us, surprisingly the food all came together, hot and presented well! The flavours were exquisite! No exaggerating! Everything was bursting with flavours! The service was great too. Lovely people! We'll defo be back again!

Ordered a takeaway was hesitant after seeing bad reviews but it turned out to be really nice ordered for pickup and was quick and very tasty and fresh

On holiday with friends and we ordered a take away for the first night to celebrate having time off, as you do. Took a while to make which we weren’t fussed about because it was 7 different meals, so when about 45 minutes to an hour later we get a phone call that our food has arrived we are all in good spirits. The delivery driver was lovely and we went to the wrong spot to meet him he happily met us. When opening the dinner up we noticed we were down multiple meals, of the seven meals we only received 4. When we called up we were met with instant annoyance and the people on the phone were the complete opposite of polite. They raised their voices at me and kept saying “this lady” when referring to me. At one point they asked where we ordered, when we said the name of the website, they kept saying they couldn’t find our order. We were confused because we had half of it so defo went through, they then told us they were looking on just eat which we never agreed to ordering on. Turns out there is 4 different sites they have ?? Saying we haven’t ordered when the money coming out of the account would say otherwise. They then proceeded to swear on the phone when we were discussing it and the man on the phone hung up on us ??? Instantly called back because we don’t want to be missing half our food we paid for and rather than answering the phone how you would expect for a conversation with a customer to start he was instantly showing his annoyance again. When we finally got onto the same page and he found our order he admitted that he just hadn’t made our food. All of a sudden when he realised it was his fault the attitude changed, the way we were treated shifted. Instant apologies and customer service was where you would expect it to be, but only after he realised he was in the wrong. When the food eventually came, no kind of compensation, which isn’t the end of the world, but half of the chicken was burnt and the ribs had less meat on the bone than a hundred year old carcass. Not a good start to my holiday and after spending over £80, feeling a little bit robbed tbh. Wouldn’t go back if I wanted a take away.

So, let me begin by saying, I’ve seen more meat on a starving Ethiopian child than the lamb chops we ordered. I am absolutely astonished by how expensive yet unsatisfactory this place is, I would rather buy a leather tyre than eat this food again. The wait was astonishing The food was nice but over cooked The service was terrible, my friend was trying to sort out the problem with the man on the phone and was hung up on, I think this is unprofessional and rude, we ordered through a different site but they couldn’t find our order, they then asked us three times if we ordered using just eat and we said no every single time and told them the site several times. The only saving grace was the nice delivery driver, give him a raise, the fact he had to deal with this is Oscar worthy. Anyways don’t eat here. Shout out my man the delivery driver, absolute legend

Terrible experience!!! We ordered our food at quarter to 10 we wouldn't receive this until an hour and a half later. We had no way to contact the restaurant from our confirmation email and no way of finding out where our food was . When it finally , arrived after long and complicated communication with the driver(who was actually rather pleasant), it was partially cold and only half the food arrived. We rang the restaurant, where we would go on to experience the most horrible customer service. The server wasn't listening to our complaints or our order, swearing at us and trying to blame us! This was all after hanging up on us after hearing we had a complaint. Eventually after a lot of frustration and backs and forth feeling like we were going nowhere, we eventually ended up getting our food delivered. Despite the delivery driver being very nice, we still had complaints about our food. 2 hours to prepare, remake and standards check our food and it was still burnt and tasted terrible . The rice was sub par and we were still missing naan bread. The lamb chops were less than a mouthful and this was all for 85 pounds. We felt robbed and after a long day of travel thoroughly mugged off. We were overall horrifically unsatisfied with every aspect of our order. From the prices to finally eating our food we remained disappointed. Those of us that received food were still hungry and others couldn't even finish their meal. Nightmarish customer service, the worst I've ever experienced, and no sorry or any form of understanding. It will go down as the worst delivery and Indian I have ever ordered!

Customer service was very bad, food was disappointing, i need to have a colon cleaning after this meal. Would not recommend.

Staying at park dean site and thought we would try this take out which was delivered to the park It’s was probably the best Indian take out I’ve ever had

I ordered over £80.00 worth of food. I was told that it would be ready for pick up in 35 minutes, but over an hour later, it still was not ready. There was no explanation for the long delay. A couple of the dishes were very tasty, others were mediocre, but the wait really spoilt our evening. Beware of the doorway in the poor lighting. It is a real hazard!

We live in Brighton so maybe our tastes are a bit more cosmopolitan but frankly what the hell have we just ordered. Not one of the dishes tastes like the dish it was supposed to be, very low quality ingredients and frankly rubbish. I would definitely avoid and don't waste your money. Disgraceful!

Great food, alot I have never heard of but cooked excellently and mega flavours.

The experience we had as a group of 12 was above and beyond. The staff were exceptional, very friendly and hilarious! The food was the best! 1# curry I have had this year, powerful flavours, perfect portions and a brilliant kick of spice. They were efficient and patient. A brilliant family run restaurant. Lots of love from us all ❤️

I have always every posted 5 star reviews .... where I felt service was 3 or 4 I don't leave a review... We called this place and reserved for 12 people (3 couples and 6 kids)... 1 table was definate outside. The wives took a little time to decide to sit indoors or outdoors. They decided indoors and went inside. In mins (under 3) they were outside saying they were shouted at asking for baby chair. I have never seen all people in the group come outside, disgusted with the behaviour they just witnessed. Ofcourse I went in , spoke with another waiter asking for mango lassi... and this guy decided to Start yelling at me. Another waiter joined and started to put their hands on me. Now it may have been a one off by this person. If it is repeat behaviour I hope management takes action against the guy who pretends to be Mr. Khan and owner of the restaurant.

First time of using this lovely Curry house,we are staying at Parkdean,fantastic food & Service Quick delivery direct to our Caravan very impressed The flavours are amazing We had Chicken Vindaloo which had plenty of chicken King prawn Madras with plenty of big prawns Mushroom rice,Bombay aloo,Garlic Nan,Onion Bhajee & the Best Tarka Dhall we have ever tasted Definitely will be using again while staying at Camber Sands

Beautiful food and customer service. Only halal place i found in camber too. Owner is a very nice friendly man, very accommodating considering we made a mistake with the order.

Only stopped off for takeaway but had a couple of drinks on patio area whilst waiting. Good service and friendly. Would have ate in but had dog with us!

Absolutely fantastic food I'm from London and I haven't found a curry in London as good as this...very fresh extremely tasty and not full of oil we really enjoyed this meal..please visit these guys and support there business they are hard working people with alot of passion for there restaurant and food and with the closing of pontins they need all the support and custom they can get....we will be back for more thank you guys !

Really tasty food, good quality and nice and hot. An item was missing from the collection but they rectified it immediately and explained the mistake. Very friendly staff and welcoming. I'll definitely be ordering again very soon.

Been using this takeaway for over 2 years. Always lovely food. But I moved recently and just eat automatically put my old address even though I had changed it to my new address. I’m 2 minutes away from my old address. The delivery driver was so rude to my son on delivery. I called the restaurant explaining and all they did was laugh down the phone telling me it was the boss who delivered it. Terrible customer service. Has put me off ordering here in future even though I usually order from here. Would rather spend my money else where.

Biryani was worst, wouldn't say it briyani at all..it was plain with no flavours.Chicken Curry was average.

Used Khans today take away as staying at Parkdean Caravan Park. Good was delicious, chicken biryani plus they gave us 2 extra portions of veg curry and two poppadoms for free. Very impressed, have used before and will drop use again next time we ar here. Delivery very fast too. Can't fault them.

Horrendous experience, rude customer service and terrible food. Group of cane here as it looked busy, biggest mistake of our lives. Food tasted off and the staffs response was this is our version it’s supposed to be like this. Next day all of us had sever food poisoning. AVOID AT ALL COST.

Tbh, probably one of the worst places I’ve been to, bland big time (so catered for the English people) and not authentic at all, also NOT Indian, but Bangladeshi disguised as Indian. Definitely needs more spices.

This was by far the worst curry we've ever had we spent around £50+ the currys where horrible they all tasted the same the size of each portion was very small for the money the quality of the meat was terrible I can't find a good word to say about it,,I don't usually like to be negative about reviews but I think I need to say something about this I WOULD REALLY STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AND SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GET A SUPERMARKET CURRY INSTEAD, I know they don't taste much like a real curry but it's cheaper than what this lot are offering and probably taste better ffs

Personally it was the Indian food I enjoyed the most in a long time. The food was correctly spiced , not too strong, and mostly they cooked their food without a ton of oil like I always find in London. I had the curry with fish balls and it was delicious. The staff was lovely and attentive. If you want good food I suggest it.

Worst curry I've ever seen. Nothing was close to average. Burnt nann, bhuna was nothing like it should be, poppadoms soft, onion bhaji's dry and rock hard, to mention a few. Scruffy shop front is a tellntell sign.

We were having a short stay over in Rye and decided to order in some Indian food from Khanz. The food was tasteless (devoid of any taste including salt). The dhal was SWEET and was like a dessert rather than a dhal. The paneer biryani had no taste whatsoever and was just coloured rice. The curries (mixed vegetable curry, aloo gobi) tasted of nothing except boiled vegetables. It was a waste of 30 pounds. IT ALL TASTED OF NOTHING.

Ordered take away it arrived on time, service was good but dal makhani was a really sweet yellow dal with coconut which just not dal makahani 😂 Rest of the dishes we ordered curry was pretty low/average quality and clearly quite anglicised I’m terms of their flavour so prob best to avoid if you have a more authentic palate. Filled a hole but I wouldn’t order again.

Had to wait an extra 25 mins, food was way below average but edible. Wouldn’t order again personally. Not a overally friendly service either which is a shame.

I got food from here after visiting Camber a couple of weeks ago. This is amazing Indian food and the best food you will get in many miles around the town, run by extremely kind and welcoming people.

Incredible food and the service was second to none

I went to Pontins for a gaming event and found Rye is a small town with not much going on, and not much food. As an Indian from NYC, I have very high standards for Indian food. This is the best Indian food I had in england. I highly recommend the lamb jalfrezi, it was delicious.

Food was really good! We went to eat there twice this weekend, once take out and once dining in. It was truly a delight, especially comparing it to pretty much any other food in the UK.

Don't go here if you like Indian food. Buy a curry sauce from shop , better and cheaper. Below average food do not season any food ! , cold and waiting very long time for the previaliage.

Over charged for food charged for a main meal when gave starters size for mains and tried charging the same price as half chicken for 6 small cubes of chicken with letice that looked aweek old portion size was small also waited 45mins for the bill then started arguing with me when I stated why would I pay the same price for half a chicken and six cubes of chicken was not impressed by the rip of. Also tried giving me something I stated I was alergic to then said I asked for it.

Ordered tandoori lamb chop starter, two mushroom fried rice, one Tandoori chicken masala one chicken Jalfrezi two naan breads mushroom bhaji , tandoori lamb chops were tough as old boots. Had to bin them. Mushroom bhaji must've been one little spoonful in the container would definitely not order from this place again. Wasted £36.70 ...

We had 2 different chicken curries plus some sides etc. The sides were just about ok, but both curries the chicken was dry and tasted old like it had been pre-cooked and dropped in the sauce to warm up. Its a real shame as while on holiday last year came here and had a lovely meal. Probably won't come back to this one again.

My daughter and I stayed in a caravan last year and food was delivered promptly. It was so delicious and authentic. We came back to camber a couple of days ago and couldn't wait for our feast after a day at the beach. The lovely lady let us in half an hour before opening and were made to feel welcome. Our needs were met after the delicious combo starter. Never had such tasty paneer and chicken. Our mains were scrumptious and dips delicious. A five star meal from a fussy mum & daughter 10/10 we will be back.

Never disappointed with Khanz, their food is top quality and honestly one of the best Indians I’ve tried! 😍 A massive variety of options to choose from on their menu. Not only is it delicious eat-in but takeaway also! The food arrives piping hot and is full of immense flavour! 10/10 can’t recommend enough🤩

This is one of the worst Indian food I have ever eaten!! Their dishes were absolutely not fresh and old. The chicken looked like it was 2 or 3 days old!!! Aag....what an absolute waste of money...

Absolutely gorgeous dinner this evening for our group of 3 children and 2 discerning women. We all enjoyed the beautifully presented and wonderfully flavoured food. The king prawn kebab and starter were clear winners along with the crab and coconut chicken curry. Nice selection of pickles, popadoms lush rice and salads all perfectly fresh. Highly recommend.

Positives : Came to Park Dean resort, open until late 22.30pm on Sunday night. Ordered over £25 got 10% discount picked up order within 30 minutes less than 5 minutes drive from the resort. Food was tasty and delicious

Had a takeaway from Khanz and food was very good. Very quick to prepare and ready to pick up in 35 mins. Would recommend as very tasty curries.

Spot on takeaway and i’ma proper fussy sod most the time, especially with Indian food. This all tasted great, service was great, took a little long to come but was a busy night so was expected. They also deliver to the lodges if your at a holiday park near by so even better!

I got a collection from here on 16/02/23. We were on holiday It was absolutely amazing. Fantastic food. Would definitely come back in the summer.

2 hour wait on delivery , when food got here it was cold greedy inedible and overcooked . I have given this restraint many chances but they just keep messing up and I’m concerned how they serve food , half of it is literally inedible .

Best Indian myself and my partner have ever had, planning a holiday to camber just for this restaurant! ❤️ Had 8 poppadoms, 3 trays of chutney (the coconut stuff is outrageous!), 4 starters - 2 of which were king prawn chat puri, had 2 because it was so good! And 2 mains. Absolutely outstanding food, and service 👏👌📢

Disappointingly dull atmosphere especially as our visit was on a Friday evening with only one other party present. The food was average at best and two dishes not up to standard. Jalfrezi should have fresh chillies and there was none, and a potato side dish was made with fluffy variety which had almost turned to mash indicating it was not freshly cooked.

Can be better in quality. Ordered south Indian garlic and chilli chicken, got 5 nicely cooked chicken pieces in sambar. Was disappointed at the start but the sambar was good when all the chicken pieces were taken out.

The food was tasteless and there was no salt. This is not authentic Indian cuisine. We ordered Biryani's and dal makhni and none of the dishes were good. We were very disappointed with the quality of the food.

Food so so good. We came here 4 years ago . So staying in Hastings we decided to go back and see if it was still good. All I can say is its better lamb was tender just everything was lovely. Waiter so friendly. I say you can't go wrong here.

Not too bad flavour, thought the sauce (Madras) was a little watery. But once ordered it came out fast.

Horrific. The prawn purée was so bad, it smelt and tasted rank! I had an upset stomach which spoilt my stay at camber.

Food was delicious and worthy of 5 stars. However, their service is a problem. We were told thirty mins for takeaway then had to wait one hour and ten minutes, no refreshments offered or anything as compensation. Also we found that there were items missing from the order when we got back with the food; too late to correct so we didn't bother. I would eat there again but take into consideration our experience.
