Absolutely faultless meal! Cannot say there is anything I would change about or delicious meal. We each had 3 courses which is unheard of for us but it all looked so good and we were still talking about it the day after. The Tonka bean panna cotta deserves a special mention as does the cod with wild garlic tagliatelle. Service was efficient but not effusive. Can't wait to go back!

Went on Valentines had a preset menu Two of us had to preset menu, two of us didn’t want the preset menu that was not a problem, they let us choose from the restaurant menu. food was really good was a busy evening. The two staff that were on coped really well very professional and friendly. I am going back for the quiz night I’m going to make it my local now

Toughest roast beef I have been served in years. Finally managed to get waiter over to comment but didn't get a reply to my complaint until again I had to call over the waiter. The answer seemed to be that the chef and waiter weren't really interested and no recompense given for half eaten meal. No "how is your meal" while eating, no attention to customer satisfaction and no attempt to recover from customer bad experience. Staff need to be trained in good service and management need to do better. I won't be back!

Our first visit here and we absolutely loved it. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Service was 1st class. The food was delicious and cooked fresh. Lovely and clean with beautiful views.

This pub has a lovely garden with fabulous views and this was a big attraction for us as it’s also only 10 minutes drive from home. The first time we ate here which was when it had recently opened, after extensive refurbishment, it was super .. but the last two visits have been very disappointing, the staff are very friendly and attentive but the food is not as good and the pub needs a really good clean especially the restaurant carpet which was extremely dirty . Such a shame .. but we won’t be visiting this pub again.

We were staying at an Unplugged cabin and had a £10 voucher to use at The White Hart so we thought we would give it a go and were very pleasantly surprised. There was a great menu selection that went beyond your normal “pub” food. We were also excited to see they served cocktails! Then we were even more lucky to have stumbled upon their live music night where we moved out onto the terrace to enjoy the views & music. The service was also excellent throughout

While we were visiting our friend who lives locally, she had booked us in at The White Hart for a late lunch, there were three of us. The weather was dire and although we had the best table in the house all we could see was the rain driving against the window. But never mind, the food and service made up for that! My wife and my friend both had fish and chips and they looked a proper treat when they were served, the fish were both huge, and apparently very tasty. I opted for a burger and that was very tasty too. If I was being a little picky I would say a side salad with the burger, I know there was some salad in the burger but it didnt half look lonely on a plate with just chips. Also, I do really love a nice salad. The service was great and all in all it was a very pleasant dining experience!

Tepid, overcooked Sunday roast and rude, aggressive chef - we won’t be returning. Lots of other nice pubs in the area to choose from…

A fantastic view IF the weather is suitable but the prices are extortionate. A small bag of crisps is £1.95 and a 175ml glass of white wine is £10.50. How can they justify this? when most other establishments charge almost half! This slightly ruined the occasion (knowing that you're being ripped off). There are several other local pubs in which to enjoy a drink at a realistic price, I would recommend them.

We stayed the night in one of the 4 rooms at this wonderful pub and had dinner. The food was excellent, tasted delicious, looked good and a good variety of choices. Well above the standard of a gastro pub. Good choice of local beers and gins. The service was really friendly and attentive, Tiffany was brilliant, so friendly, helpful and happy. The room was very well appointed, it had everything weneeded, with a big bathroom and powerful shower. The outside seating area is large and has a spectacular view, all the way to the coast. I thoroughly recommend the White Hart for food and to stay.

Relaxed atmosphere but still feels special with a nice ambience. Cosy on a wet day outside. Good service with a friendly waiter. Really very delicious food! Price fair for the wonderful quality of food. Drinks are on the pricey side. Would definitely visit regularly if we lived in the area. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Excellent Sunday lunch in this lovely pub. The pub is nicely decorated with a stunning garden. The roast was really good - plentiful and well cooked. Service was friendly and fun (Benji was very patient with our sheninigans!!) And the my were excellent for coeliacs, the menu was clearly marked and those who couldn’t eat gluten were really well catered for.

I visited the pub with my dad and brother and we have such a fantastic experience. It was so nice to see it open again and it’s had a real face lift. The chairs are so comfortable and there is no shortage of cosy places to sit. The restaurant area also looked lovely although we opted for the new big leather arm chairs! We had the beef shin and lamb dish both of which were fantastic. They also have a nice selection of snacks which we also really enjoyed. As a wine lover I was so happy with what was on offer and they do everything by the glass! Would definitely recommend.

The White Hart has only just re opened after being totally renovated. They have only been open since late October.. a couple of weeks. Having visited many times over the years, I was delighted to see the new owners have kept the cosy atmosphere whilst upgrading the pub... Whilst the front of house is cosy and welcoming the new kitchen is state of the art and hygiene is paramount..chatting to our server I gather even the kitchen wall coverings are anti viral and there is a one way system in place so food leaving the kitchen does not travel through the cleaning station. In these times very reassuring, perhaps being renovated during a pandemic has its's bonuses. All possible precautions areas to be thought of.Service was impeccable, and friendly. Considering how soon it is since the pub opened I was impressed with how smoothly the service went. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly...All the poduce possible is locally sourced, the meat from literally just down the hill! I'm great fan of supporting the local area well done! We started with soup which was beautifully served and delicious.The roast Beef was amazingly succulent, and the roast potatoes delightfully crisp.. The voice of vegetables was a lovely change from the usual boring veg a lot of pubs trot out.The fruit crumble was yum!We are really looking forward to our next visit. Can't wait.

We went for the first time under the new management on 4 November. It was busy, everyone getting in a last meal out before lockdown. We were given a low drinks table we couldn’t get our knees under with comfort and chairs with such long seats it was impossible to sit back. We had the beef which came with puy lentils and puréed cauliflower. It was tasty but not hot enough and the purée was a tasteless smear under the beef, a dish of vegetables would have made it a better meal. I then had cheese and biscuits, I have only once before had such a mean portion. Thin slivers of cheese with the cheddar consisting of small pieces that looked as if someone had swept up the bits cut by mistake when the knife slips. My husband had hot chocolate pudding which again was not hot. It tasted nice but was expensive and a real disappointment.

Have been coming here for a number of years. Second visit under new management. Service was very slow.... waited for at least 15 mins before our dirty plates were taken away. When the plates were eventually cleared we were asked if we wanted dessert. We then have waited a further 10 minutes (at least) before asking to order. Dessert arrived and was wrong. I must say however that the food is delicious! But the service of the young and inexperienced staff really does let it down. We also noted that when a table of 6 next to us vacated, the young boy clearing the table failed to sanitise the table and chairs before the next person laid it again with new napkins and cutlery! I also feel the young girls working there such have their mid drift’s covered when undertaking tablet service.......

New Owner’s New Chief.. Nicky and her staff made us feel very welcome.. The food is of a very high standard.. Always want to go somewhere that I’m always asking myself, how does the chief do that.. Great choice of food for all, beautiful decor and a very friendly welcome.. Give it ago you won’t be disappointed...Well done to all involved in making this a great place to visit.

We have always loved this pub and were interested to see what the new owners had done. We went on opening day for a late lunch. The food was absolutely excellent: exciting and interesting flavours, beautifully presented. The staff were warm and welcoming and the new decor is very smart and elegant although we did miss the old stag’s head in the conservatory . So happy this place is open again and look forward to visiting frequently. Wishing the white Hart team every success.
