We had breakfast outside opposite The Abbey . Excellent breakfast. More than enough ,freshly cooked and friendly, efficient service. Highly recommended 👍
If you are visiting Rye definitely give webbe's cafe a try, especially if you are a seafood lover. Produce was fresh and cooked well. Scallops were tender and cooked perfectly fine. Everything else was just fine, probably because my pallet isn't sofistivated enough and I prefer more punchy flavours. :D
Service could be better. I had the feeling that I was more smiley and positive than the server. Desperately wanted to get some vinegar with chips, but the server was nowhere to be seen. The table we sat at was shakey.
Loved the simplistic design and the open kitchen. The only wet facility I could find was a disabled toilet at the back entrance, where deliveries are received from. Would be super cold to go in that area in winter.
Lovely cake and coffee/tea. Served by excellent staff. We were made to feel welcome with our two dogs. Warm and luxurious ambience. It felt quite special.
This was my first order for delivery from Minnie Berthas. Even though order was late, the fish was gorgeous and the chips were cooked to perfection. Fish and chips were piping hot. Will definitely order from them again.
Great little hotel. Room was very comfortable and felt luxurious. Staff very helpful explaining everything on arrival incl. suggestions for dinner. Breakfast buffet was as you would expect, toast, pastries, juice, etc. We did not opt for hot breakfast as plenty on offer already. All in all very good value for money and would stay there again.
We went for a takeaway. Popped in earlier to enquire whether or not they were able to cook some food that was dairy free for our son. Normally Indian restaurants can’t or won’t do this.at this Indian restaurant they immediately helped us so we came for a takeaway and it was excellent. My boy had his first curry for a long time and he really enjoyed it. Thank you to all the team at the Indian restaurant. We really appreciated your help and the way that you easily supported us it was great . Very friendly team.
thank you Pete & Gulsen.
Good Malaysian takeaway and restaurant, situated inside a pub. We ordered a takeaway for collection - Crispy, chilli beef is particularly tasty! Overall, the food was fresh, fairly priced and the service was excellent. First time using this place and got lost on collection as we weren't expecting it to be located in a pub - we couldn't see a notice or sign anywhere and only found it by asking locally! Apart from that we were very happy. We'll be back!
Festive Afternoon Tea - what a treat! We were greeted on arrival with a nicely laid out table in the stunning surroundings of the orangery! This building is amazing. The table had Christmas crackers and we were greeted very quickly - as we identified our pre-booked table. Within moments of arriving we were brought warm festive mulled apple juice, which was well decorated and exceeding flavoursome and festive. Not long after we were brought this amazing tier of afternoon tea, with a range of sumptuous sandwiches - festive incensed scones - with a range of cakes and mince pies. Tea and Coffee offered throughout. Everything was amazing with a festive twist. I would highly recommend Ashburnham Place and its stunning surroundings anytime of the year, the Orangery is second to none! A**** service, quality and vibe! Thank you!

We had a great meal from here after visiting the beach. We had sausages, chips, curry sauce, scampi and chicken curry rolls and all we're delicious. Would totally recommend. The lady who served us ( short hair) was very professional and friendly..thank you for a lovely meal!
Takeaway delivery always delicious and piping hot. The Chicken nuggets are so nice from here, a firm favourite. Decent sized portions too.
The Delivery lady always so happy and friendly. Well recommended
During our recent visit to Landgate Bistro in Rye, we were thoroughly impressed by the exceptional dining experience. The food was truly outstanding, showcasing the chef’s dedication to sourcing local ingredients and preparing them with flair. You could tell he has spent time in Rome as there was a clear Italian influence to some of the dishes. Each dish was a testament to the restaurant’s commitment to quality and taste. We really loved the lobster risoni and the carbonara. We actually ended up ordering a starter after our mains instead of a dessert as the food was so lovely.
The ambiance of the bistro was both charming and inviting, providing a perfect setting for a memorable meal. The service was impeccable; the staff were attentive and friendly, making us feel genuinely welcomed. We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to our waitress, Caoimhe, whose warm and professional demeanor added a special touch to our evening.
We highly recommend Landgate Bistro to anyone seeking a delightful culinary experience in Rye. We look forward to our next visit
Food was ok. Deep fried Camembert was delicious but to only get 5 pieces of calamari for £12 was deeply disappointing. Will take me a long time to get over that.
