The Lookout Restaurant in Rother

Great little hotel. Room was very comfortable and felt luxurious. Staff very helpful explaining everything on arrival incl. suggestions for dinner. Breakfast buffet was as you would expect, toast, pastries, juice, etc. We did not opt for hot breakfast as plenty on offer already. All in all very good value for money and would stay there again.

Beautiful hotel, excellent finishing. Nice touches everywhere. Fantastic breakfast. I would've preferred to be able to park in their car park as a guest, other than that, no faults. Staff were friendly and attentive, the location is nicely placed just on the outskirts of the main area. Breakfast choices were great, very nicely cooked and presented. I will definitely stay again

All things are excellent. The products use in bathroom is big bottle with spa scented. Breakfast is so delicious and big portions. Only one thing I don’t like is more stairs because It’s hotel in old town. Rye is nice small town and very safe. I’m enjoying stay here.

I was made to feel extremely distressed and ended up having a panic attack outside the hotel due to the male member of staff at the reception desk who threatened to charge us more money if I didn't produce my papers to prove my dog is a service animal which is not.uk law there is actually no such thing for service animals in the UK. Despite me explaining and showing him the law on my phone he persisted in his behaviour to the point I was physically shaking with distress. Demanding papers I felt like I was in nazi Germany. He even tried to get a female staff member to help with his tirade of unknowledgable facts. I literally had to while shaking explain that to even ask me about what papers I have is wrong and against uk law. The hotel itself is beautiful and in a beautiful location can't say much for the staff apart from the late reception staff member who was a delight. I will be following up with my lawyer in regards to this.

Great town centre hotel. Its not 5* but lovely cosy hotel. We had a huge room with terrace, massive bed and lots of soft bed linen, pillows and towels. Bathroom a bit dated but it all worked. The breakfast was amazing with lots of choice. Continental was fresh and crisp, cooked was very well cooked with lots of choice. Staff were nice and helpful. It has its own car park at the rear and cost £8.00 per day but well worth it for the security and convenience. Walk to everything. We had a great stay. Thank you.

Brilliant bathroom comfy bed no air conditioning 🥵🥵

Stayed here for one night while in the area for work. Location is amazing, staff were really helpful. But best bit was the room. The room was amazing and done out to a high specification. The shower was one of the best I’ve had in a hotel and the bed was super comfy. Only one slight issue, no food was being made in the evening, but not an issue as there is plenty of choice locally. Very pleased and will be back again in the future!!

Nice place very friendly staff, we only called in for a beverage, my good lady had spritz of some kind which she loved. I was driving so wanted an alcohol free beer, they only had one bottle in the fridges, not too impressed, yes I could have had water or a fizzy drink but that's not what I wanted. The place could offer so much, maybe better next time.

Great hotel and very friendly staff!

Check-in & out was easy. Rooms were comfortable & clean. Liked the coffee provided in the room. Breakfast room was nice and outdoor terrace too. Staff were nice. Only major downside was the breakfast. Despite the pre-order form, the first morning (14th June) it took 3 rounds for the breakfast to be almost correct (it was still missing one item). We let this slide as an unfortunate mistake, but the second morning (15th June) the breakfast was totally chaotic. We couldn't tell if it was a mess up with the preorder or the kitchen or both, but we waited an hour for avocado on toast and it never arrived. Food was being taken to random tables (other customers were confused too). A couple that arrived 30 mins after us got their full English before us and other tables. We left breakfast without a cooked breakfast. Overall the hotel was nice, but due to the chaotic breakfast we would not return.

Would recommend. Our room had a nice view. Breakfast was lovely.

Rude,unhelpful,staff, Rooms dated and not the cleanest would not visit again

We were assisted by Adrian at the front desk who was extraordinarily helpful during a stressful situation with our booking!! Thank you Adrian! We love the property and appreciate the customer service greatly.

We had one of the top floor rooms which was amazing, with a huge terrace, and great views from the bedroom and bathroom. Super comfy bed and had everything we needed. Breakfast was also really good and was very generous. Great location to explore Rye from. The only thing is the hotel looks a little sad from the outside and in the stairwell, but this may not have been helped by the fact we visited in winter

We were walking pass when we saw they had music on so we stayed and had a drink best thing we did the drinks were amazing the music was out of this world .we going to come back next August if u have music again the pub is in a nice area you can see a lot of good sight all the way to dungeness.

If you think of Fawlty Towers you have a good idea about how this restaurant is. The staff are running about like headless chickens, not knowing what the other is doing. Our meal this lunchtime was comical to watch error after error at other tables. Though to be fair our order was done correctly but we gave up waiting for the bill after asking three different people and went and paid inside. We also watched people sit down, wait, wait, wait and finally leave without ordering. The food is good but the rest is pure comedy.

Terrible service and unfriendly staff. David in particular was facetious and unreasonable. I would highly discourage anyone from coming to this restaurant unless they want to be treated like crap. We were at a wedding reception and we were treated with utter disrespect. Avoid at all costs.

Been trying to try their Pizzas for weeks now but they only open the restaurant certain days of the week, so check first before turning up. Have to say it was well worth the wait though. Great service, great Pizza and a fantastic bottle of Italian Merlot. They offered a free latte which was a nice touch. Will definitely go back soon. Price was pretty good as well.

Delicious pizza and even better drinks! We went on a busy night and the waitress was very helpful and friendly. We managed to order to some food as they weren't taking orders at the time and it didn't disappoint! Worths a visit.
