Staff great, but just under a fiver for a large portion of chips is a taking the mickey out of customers

Highly recommend this restaurant. Anthony was very helpful and worked together with us to accommodate our group of 100 people (on a very sunny and busy Saturday). Everyone was pleased with the fish and chips and pizza. We look forward to visiting next time we are in Camber Sands :) THANK YOU!

Food is tasteless or it happend to be a bad day for them when I was there

40 minutes wait for 1 chips and 1 curry sauce. Ridiculous.

Saturday evening kids wanted to watch the sunrise on the beach then get fish and chips for dinner as was on beach all day, we were starving! Waited in line only to be told 'were not serving anymore' this was 7.42pm and its closing time was 8pm. It was myself a lone woman and my daughters, an 8 year old and 10 year old. They served the people in front of us and then decided to turn us away. There was no one else waiting behind us, no big queue or anything. Very disappointing and kids were left hungry and upset, my youngest cried. They was happy to serve the man in front of me but turned me away with young kids and there was no other nearby place to get food from. Anywhere I've worked in retail you serve up to closing time even if its 1 minute before! But 7.42pm on a Saturday evening and a mum with 2 young kids that's just low. Didn't even apologise or anything either.

Best fish and chips I've ever had. It's a shame they do not deliver on just eat or Uber eats the wait in line for food can be very long during peak times.

Fresh oil in the fryers, friendly staff, well prepared fish fillets. Don’t over order, the large cod could feed two people, likewise the large chips. Well worth a wait, best fish I’ve had this summer.

Chips looked sad but we're decent enough. Cod was alright, haddock was amazing. Had to pay for small ketchup satchels.

Staying at camber sand Park Dean resort It's well worth 15 min walk ,food freshly cooked, better then than the other 2 local chippies . Tried all 3 shops ill definitely be back. Many thanks 😊

Fish & chips were the best I've had in a long time. Cooked to order so nice & fresh and not too greasy. My daughter had the chicken mini fillets and said they were the best. Very friendly staff. Dog was allowed in as well and was given a couple of biscuits. Would definitely recommend when you're in Camber.

We were a bit sceptical about the place as it seems very touristic but due to lack of other options we tried fish and chips there and it was lovely. Good quality of the fish, reasonable portion, service super nice. Thank you - we really enjoyed it ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Had this for dinner tonight and i thought the food was of a decent standard. Plain sausage was very nice and my mrs and kids liked the fish. Chips were alright too and now appear to come in a box. The lady on reception was very polite and friendly and you can pay by card or cash. Parking aint great but it is near a beach car park that charges.

Good customer service Fish and chips not halal due to cross contamination between each fryers Chips are cooked in separate fryers but they sometimes use the same utensils as haram products. The employees explained things properly which was useful. Alternatively they have vegan options and next door shop have ice cream starting at £3

Honestly deserves more than 4 stars. Visited here today & as other reviews say chips are hand cut and made to order so is the fish. I’m a foodie and I was impressed haven’t had fish and chips this good for a long time.

Absolutely delicious. I would recommend the Chicken mini fillets and the haddock. Very fresh fish as though it’s come straight from the ocean! After visiting the pelican the day before, this fish and chip saved the standards of fish and chips in camber sands. Chips were also freshly cut and cooked to order. It is so worth the wait when busy. I also loved how well they catered to the kids menus. The staff were also extremely lovely, and all seemed in high spirits. I would definitely recommend to any visitor - it is a MUST try !

The best fish and chips we have had for a while! We don’t normally like the chips from the fish and chip shops but the chips from here are 10/10, Would definitely recommend! So reasonably priced too!

What can I say! Amazing customer experience Amazing fish and chips! We’re muslim so they offered to fry our fish in the chip oil instead of the sausage oil which other places nearby didn’t… We appreciated this heavily due to our strict halal diet. 11/10 😊

Best fish and chips in town! What a lovely family run business to run into whilst in Camber! Gorgeous family and awesome fish and chips! Prices are realistic and with a friendly vibe that you don’t get often in tourist areas like this! We will definitely be supporting again! Thank you so much x

I would say bit overpriced but otherwise ok...not great but ok

Me my daughter and granddaughter went to camber sands on the 6.8.2022, we went to the fish bar for lunch it was overpriced and cheap nasty food!! Says traditional fish & chips well the chips were from bags not like you would get in a chip shop , we paid £1 each for cheese, well that was plastic cheese you put on burgers expensive for what is was , our fillet of chicken certainly Was not a fillet at all , bag of Haribo sweets £3 a bag !! I’d avoid eating at this place absolutely discusting in taste and price! The man doing the cooking was sweating, ok was a hot day but he had no gloves on or hat and wiped his sweat off his forehead with his hands with a bit of blue roll never washed them afterwards so unhygienic

Small place with nice staff serving fresh fish n chips very close to the camber sands beach. Right outside actually.. I am just not a fish and chips person because it's a fried dish but otherwise someone might just enjoy it!

One fantastic fish and chips! The food was cooked perfectly, tasted delicious, and didn't break the bank with its cost. The kids loved everything we put in front of them, and my northern wife was a big fan of their mushy peas. As an added bonus, the staff were awesome, even when I'd made a mistake during ordering refunding me the difference with a smile. If you're in the area I definitely recommend a visit

Waitress was useless order was wrong then when told the say no problem just take out what you dont want even though tomatoes make burger soggy

Lovely lovely fish and chips. Really nicely cooked so it's crispy and tasty on the outside and yummy inside. Nice chips too. And price ain't too bad either. Definitely be back next time we visit camber.

Tasty fish and chips. Big portions. Have also kids size. Not overpriced. Great location, parking just aside. If You are planning just to buy a take away you can easy find a free parking nearby. On car park are toilets as well.Walking distance to the beach is maybe 3 minutes.

Highly recommended 👍 I'm looking at some of the bad reviews and am quite confused; whenever we're in Camber/Rye (in fact just got home from a week in Camber) we always have our fish & chips at Fish Me A Dish (sometimes several times a week!) Definitely the best in Camber and have NEVER had a bad experience. So either we're really lucky or just some people were expecting Michelin star food from a local beachside chippy 🤷‍♀️ only been in summer season, so perhaps the experience out of season is different, although I think it's unlikely based on our many random visits without ever once having an issue. The fish is super fresh, cooked fresh, skinless (winner 😁) delicious batter and even the medium cod is pretty big! The chips are your normal 'chip shop chips' - they're nothing award winning but tasty enough and certainly not bad. And you can even get a lovely cold pint from the burger shop next door to wash it all down 👍 Staff always friendly and helpful, even when super busy. We've had a lot of seaside fish & chips over the years in many different locations and this is definitely one of our favourites.

Chips soaked and not tasty at all... fish had no taste and we have had to wait 20 minutes for food. Only 2 stars because staff was very friendly and overworked. Could see that from away!!

Excellent Fish and Chips - Chips were nice and brown, cod was cooked well. My friend had some reasonably-priced haddock which was enormous. Recommended.

I’m know your have to pay a premium whilst away but I think this guys has taken it too far. Although they are a cafe serving food, they won’t give you any ice for your drinks, instead you can buy a bag of ice for £2.50.

The chips were brown and dry and tasted disgusting. We threw all 4 portions in the bin. Avoid!

Honestly the worst sausage and chips I've ever eaten. Nuggets smelt rank, and chips were oily and dried out (which is a challenge, I'm unsure as to how they achieved that- if it was their goal then well done) AVOID!!

The worst chips we have ever eaten! I don’t even know how fried potatoes could be this bad. Cold, greasy and really dry. Tasted like they’d been sat there since the day before. Will make sure to pack a picnic for the beach next time!

Standard fish shop by the sea. Food is fresh can be a bit slow when it get busy, but that's normal. Prices are a bit higher than usual but that's what you get near the sea.

Haddock was nice, but the chips left much to he desired. Felt like we got the scraps from the bottom of the fryer.

We were really surprised at how poor quality the food was here. For a place with such a good overall rating and by the sea, we expected high quality fish and chips. The fish was OK but the chips were just terrible - clearly a freezer bag of oven fries put in the deep fryer, they were cold, oily and flavourless. Would strongly advise against going here.

I can’t belive how amazing this fish and chip shop is! I had a battered sausage with chips and the rest of my family had fish and chips. It tasted better than any fish and chip shop I have ever been to. Incredible food for great price! Will definitely be going back here again.

Fish had crisp batter and was perfectly soft on inside. Fries had not bad texture but clearly needed more time in fryer as they looked limp. But generally had great experience here

This place is the worst place ever for fish&chips, the chips texture and taste are like reheated chips, Not Fresh At All, THE Fish Is Not Crispy, And TASTELESS, PORTIONS Are WEIGHTWATCHER Size, Over priced and I'm astonished they are still open , is this what the locals call a good fish&chip shop?

I was shocked about the chips here, when one goes to the seaside, you expect a certain standard from your chips, but these were below average, they was dry, gritty and lacked that Fluffy texture. I am no expert on chips but everyone knows the difference between good chips and bad chips, and these I assure you, were bad chips, the fish however, wasn't too bad. Only slightly let down at the start of my holiday, at the prices charged for the food, expected better. Sorry
