A friendly attentive team serving up some fantastic fish dishes. We went with the tasting menu which was scallop heaven.. :)

Just had superb lunch (all adults) clean plates for starters, mains and desserts (it’s not often that happens). Parking was easy. Just outside (on a RingGo meter) and round the corner (on a meter too)l- make iit easy for yourself and down load the app. If you don’t like fish/shell fish you’re in trouble but we do and it was superb. Service was impeccable, not slow and didn’t feel rushed. Hot plates (which always makes a difference We’ll be back! Thanks team Webbes.

Really amazing fish restaurant, great location and staff were very friendly. We were a bit disappointed with the surf and turf but the rest of the dishes were lovely. Wonderful cocktails too!

Came to Rye for Valentines weekend. Had dinner at Webbs, and it was excellent. Lovely cosy atmosphere and lighting. Lovely staff. The food was excellent with amazing flavours. We had the mussels, scallops, and sea bream, which were delicious. We had wine from Kent, which was lovely. Well worth a visit.

Struggled to give this a 4, but 3 stars would have been harsh. It's better than just ok, but i found everything to be a little unexciting. Not really any atmosphere here, and it's a little overpriced, but still nice.. and most of all the food was decent. I probably wouldn't go back as there are far far better choices around, but it's perfectly fine here. I didn't appreciate having charity donations added to our bill without asking, but I'm not arguing that

Delicious scallops followed by a tasty fish stew. We were the first to be seated & the waitress oddly wanted to put us right in the corner when the whole restaurant was empty. Very strange. We chose a better position

Rye is a small town located just 1 hour and 6 minutes from London St Pancras Station. This restaurant is considered the best seafood spot in town, offering fresh and flavorful dishes. The scallops, steamed seafood panache and mango parfait are particularly delightful.

Fantastic food, the monkfish & sea bass specials were especially tasty. The service was great all evening, with our server helping us pick a wine for the meal. Definitely recommend!

Happy find! Went for the bonfire but didn’t book anywhere so we were very lucky to find this restaurant and that they were very accommodating to us. Me and my partner had the fish and chips which I was happy to find out where gluten and dairy free so I was a happy bunny, esp as you wouldn’t know the difference. Loved the home cooked chips , proper chunky ones

Great meaty monkfish main on the Saturday night. Cooked amazingly well. The wife's stew was tasty too. Starters were a little more forgettable though... To the point I can't even recall what they were but cc an remember being underwhelmed. We went at the end of the night when the place was dialling down, hence the atmosphere score.

Went on a cookery course, absolutely fantastic. The tuition from Paul was first class and the food we produced you would be happy to pay a lot of money for. This was a great day and I would definitely go again on a different course. If you have any interest in food either go on one of these courses or to the restaurant. Nov 2nd. Went to the restaurant this time for a family meal for 9 and it was fantastic. Food, atmosphere and service were spot on and the attention to detail in the food made the experience very special. CTC

Busy, buzzing restaurant which served good fish dishes. Variety on the menu. Felt bad not being able to leave staff a tip but they wanted cash and I didn’t have any!

Overall we liked! Excellent starters all round. Sorry to say fish mains were a bit overcooked. Puddings variable. Raspberry Crème brûlée was not good - other desserts good. Particularly liked the experimental blackberry macaron! Drinks good - but passion fruit mojito missing the mint! Good value - well done

We had been recommended this restaurant by our B & B hosts and it did not disappoint. Booking highly recommended as we booked the last available table the afternoon before for a Saturday evening. The food was excellent with an amazing choice of fresh fish, the staff were all very welcoming and friendly even though it was clear that they were very busy. There was a real buzz to the atmosphere, must be one of the best places to eat in Rye.

Such lovely staff and great food, had a few starters to share between the two of us as well as a cheese dessert to finish off! Was absolutely stunning, Lexi was amazing and ensured our birthday celebrations kept going!

Fabulous food - beautifully presented and good portion sizes. Staff were friendly and attentive but not over bearing. Had clearly read our booking notes and surprised us with a happy anniversary pudding plate.

We came here for a birthday dinner, and it was magnificent. The food was delicious, the tables were comfortable and the service was lovely. Will be back again!

I don’t like giving but reviews but with high expectations can come high disappointments. The only star goes to the bill where the main course we didn’t eat was removed from. We got a table close to the kitchen and the till (after we asked in the booking for a nice, cosy one). The air-con forced us to keep the jacket on. The waitress at the reception was blunt and cold. Another one seemed not to be able to give us proper details. They constantly forgot about us (probably because of the table location) we didn’t take any pic because we were negatively surprised of the low quality of the experience that we wanted just to leave. The general feeling was of a place with a glorious past but unable to keep up with it. We asked for the bills and we left before the waitress had the time clean the table.

Food was good but the attitude of the two female staff members who served us was not. They both looked as miserable as sin, one in particular was rude and made me feel very uncomfortable. Will not be going back.

Had a nice time here last weekend. The food was ok. Had the Hake and was disappointed that it had no flavour. Also the service was ok but needs to be more cheerful. Didn't get a good feel from the staff.

Delicious culinary experience at Webbes. Top notch fish, classic dishes presented simply but thoughtfully. Lovely staff. Very leisurely, no rushing to move on. Strongly recommend including in a Rye away day or two.

We had the most amazing tasty dishes here. Starters we had the fish board to share amazing. Mains I had the Rye fish stew tasty and delicious hubby had mussels he said they were great! All in all a great experience

We stumbled upon this little place for lunch whilst visiting Rye. We had a few starters to share including the calamari, crab Arancini, tumbler of prawns and oysters - all were exceptionally good. For main course our children shared a sirloin steak which was very tasty and my husband and I shared a large portion of muscles. The muscles were not as tasty as we expected but nothing to complain about. The service was attentive and the drinks menu was great.

I would have given 5 stars but honestly like most restaurants they are under staffed & over run they should just take less bookings. The service was not too bad the girls did their best & were very pleasant, the food was good , the panache ( seafood main ) was very tasty .

Went with my mum for a quick supper but ended up having three courses. Fish was cooked superbly (as you would expect with somewhere that has a cookery school attached) and service attentive. Very reasonable and will definitely be going back.

Brilliant quality yet unpretentious and reasonably priced. Excellent fish restaurants like this are far too rare. Keep up the good work and please open more branches!

This wa a meant to be a special occasion wedding anniversary, sadly we had a severe health situation but the people were re so fantastic and understanding * a special thanks to Maria that went above and beyond. I'm so so thankful and look forward to when we meet soon. Once again thanks again Maria you're a star, and all the members have gone abond and beyond. I haven't even visited yet but already I feel it's outstanding. Thank you all once again I'll see you soon. We.lool forward teeing you soon and will probably be regulates. Not impressed. From a booking system that tells us when we have to leave, to a cold and noisy resturant, to snooty, demanding staff, wjo whisk sude plates away after starters are done to supposedly panko breadcrumb coated fish, to a fish panache than contains not so much fish and a lot of steamed vegeis that weren't on the menu, to gritty muscles, it was sadly disappointing. The fish was well cooked, but it just didn't jell.

It was the best fish-dinner in my life so far. Both me and my partner liked both starters (monkfish cheeks, buratta) and mains (panache and fish-stew). Also it was the best pear juice I have ever tasted.

Best fish restaurant in the area. Cannot fault anything and overall pretty good value for money.

We booked a later table, 8.45 and felt as though once we had eaten our main course it was time to leave! No offer of dessert or coffee! The food was delicious, I couldn’t fault it and reasonably priced. The staff were not particularly friendly more stressed and tired! If you want your customers to leave by a certain time then offer reservation times accordingly!

Food was delicious and we really enjoyed our meal. However the service was adequate but inattentive . Also we were unhappy at the end of our evening, the manageress paid little attention to us…after settling the bill without acknowledging our goodbye, as she was preoccupied with another customer for a long time.

We had made a reservation for dinner at lunchtime and unfortunately didn't get a nice seat. We sat at the kitchen counter below where the food was served. It was full in the restaurant. The staff was very hardworking and attentive. The food was simply wonderful. For dessert we treated ourselves to 3 oysters for £7.50. The prices are not overpriced. The room was pleasantly designed, unfortunately we couldn't see much of it.

Food poisoning during the night after dining here . Ruined a short stay break. Did complain but i get the sense they didnt really care. Table service was good on the evening though.

Might be popular with locals but we would not go again. Service was poor, as one of the earliest guest we were served at the end. Seared scallops were warm not seared, warm bread was nice but not warm. Avoid the fish stew.

Ever been in a familiar situation where food service was taking a bit too long and you start to think to yourself that "this actually better be good"? 9 times out of 10 they usually disappoint, but Webbe's pleasantly surprised me. Food was definitely made with care and we enjoyed the seafood.

Great meal at webbes today with my family. Food was fantastic. Particularly pleased with great value children’s menu. The waiting staff were amazing with our 2 years old. Chapeau!

Having dined in the restaurant in Hastings we thought it would be equally as good here, sadly it was not. The venue is devoid of atmosphere, feeling like an old warehouse but without the attraction of many similar venues in the U.K. The food was the highlight, but even that fell short of expectations, I had the sea bass, was well cooked, but the sauce was all conquering, whilst being a little bland! My partner went for scallops, creamed potatoes, and crispy pancetta, this looked whimsical and tasted very good. Deserts, one raspberry crème brûlée, nice,and one frozen mango parfait with mango and passion fruit sorbet and chunks. Which was the best bit. Service was pedestrian.

The fish dishes were all fresh and cooked with care, just lacking punchy or deep flavours; Prosecco was mediocre but oysters were good (vinaigrette could have been better though); Service was friendly and attentive; restaurant was very quiet so lacked atmosphere; all in all a pleasant lunch!

The food and menu is great for seafood lovers but the service is painfully slow. We went for lunch over Easter - as it was a sunny day we were keen for a fairly quick turnaround to get out again in the sun. The place may be a bit short staffed but even so service was pretty slow - 40 minutes in we had ordered our ‘on arrival’ food but not starters or mains which is very long to wait. We spoke to two members of staff in that period who both said the other one would take our order - it’s a shame there is not a better or clearer system. We ended up not ordering starters due to concerns that it would cause further delays which is a shame. It’s a brilliant menu and the food that we eventually got was good, but the service needs to be much better! No issue at all with the kitchen - when we ordered it came with it straight away

Highly recommend if in Rye, very fairly priced. We shared the scallops starter and some bread (very nice bread!). Mains were the panaché of fish and the Hake. Both delicious.

We had a nice dinner here, but it wasn’t anything to write home about. Food was decent and service was friendly but very slow. They brought us water immediately but we then waited almost half an hour before we got drinks/our ‘on arrival’ snacks and it was hard to get their attention. Not one I would recommend/go back to in a hurry.

Visited for scallop week, scallop dishes were pleasant. The oysters were a disappointment, I expected them to be served with a classic mignonette sauce of shallots and red wine vinegar. Mine were served with a horrible balsamic vinegar with a few large chunks of shallot. Rather surprising for a fish restaurant!

Went for the Scallop tasting menu, which was almost perfection. Can really understand why people come back here time after time. Service was brilliantly attentive.

I enjoyed every mouthful. Honestly the food, ambience, service, staff recommendations - it was all wonderful and reasonably priced. I had the scallops to start, hake and then chocolate (delice?) and espresso. My favourite dish was the Hake it was cooked so beautifully and on this bed of chorizo and cabbage with such fresh tomatoes. Delicious. The scallops a very close second. Will definitely be back.

We were greeted by the Maitre d' who was civil but not engaging. Clearly this is his domain and inclusion is a privilege. Which did add somewhat to the special trip. His presence ensures a constant quality. We had 3 courses all of which were top end of excellence. But the delay in attention to us non regular diners almost took us over the 2.25 hours limit imposed. However the food, ambiance and general buzz of appreciation made our evening a good one.

We were lucky! Wednesday lunch time, end of Feb and miserable weather... But Webbe's was nearly fully booked - thank goodness they could fit us in. We opted for the Rye Bay Scallop Taster Menu (it was during the Rye Bay Scallop Festival) ... and what an absolute delight. 6 courses, beautifully presented, rich in colour and the flavours and textures were exquisite, each dish a perfectly formed delight to the eye and a flavour sensation. Fit for any gourmand! The chefs team and front of house team did a brilliant job. Can't recommend highly enough!

Food delicious, service a bit abrupt, wasn’t a warm or happy response on welcome - imagine it’s an overhang from full summer seasons but when the place is quiet it’s not great to feel like anyone approaching the table is making an effort to have to do. It makes a difference

What amazing place. Superb food, service, and wine, all at a sensible prices, in a relaxed environment. We ate at the Galivant 2 nights before and this was just as good, if not better.

Went for dinner and what a joy. Service was excellent as was our food. Would highly recommend. Just wish we lived closer.

The restaurant was great. The menu was fish based (there's a clue in the name), offering a really good choice of dishes, cooked perfectly. The house wine was good too.

We managed to sneak a 2 seated table late on a Friday night. Staff were super helpful and managed to work around the busy restaurant to get us an earlier booking. The restaurant has a cosy feel with low dimmed mood lighting and spacious tables. Staff were attentive and keen to help with advice and wine testers being provided. Food was served hot and full of flavour. Price wise, you get what you pay for but for starter and main and drinks for 2, the totals was less than expected. A wonderful choice of wines and seafood available which appear locally sourced. Overall and very enjoyable experience and well deserved 5 stars

A cozy and lovely spot to eat seafood in Rye. The fish stew was excellent and the scallops were top notch! The only disappointment was the meringue clementine dessert which tasted a bit stale, but the presentation was nice.

Well done to the three waiting staff that served us on the 13.12.23. We had a lovely meal, food was excellent but the evening was made even nicer by the friendly staff. Thank You!

The fish was cooked beautifully, but all food including sauces As did the staff lack smiles and personality, the waiting staffjust looked really fed up. The desserts were delicious but a long wait. The Cornish mussels were also very fresh tasty. Slightly disappointed as we normally go to Hastings Webbes which is always 1st class.

Fabulous, unique fish and seafood dishes in a smart ambience. Service was very attentive and we appreciated the variety of wines and Gins available, too. The monkfish loin main was a personal favourite!

I’m no lover of seafood (I blame those dying mussel beds back in the town where I grew up), but I have to say that Webbe’s did a mighty fine job of converting me to the joys of the surf over the turf. Even an unreconstructed carnivore like me could appreciate this refined, sophisticated, but avowedly (reassuringly) unpretentious restaurant. The service was top-notch and the food a pure delight. Somebody in that kitchen knows how to source good, fresh local ingredients and treat them with respect. I’ll certainly be back (might even try the turf AND the surf next time)

First time visiting and was knocked back by the taste and flavours across the dishes we tried. The menu was enticing and we could have chosen almost any dishes. Service was A1 and very reasonably priced. It felt very special. Thank you.

This place looks great but The starter chosen, appears to be prepared and whisked from the cold store to your table. Our starters were so chilled that our forks tasted icy cold. Of course there was no flavour from the food. The fish was ok .loved the drinks

We have just had such a lovely lunch. The fish stew and oysters were delicious and well presented. At last a restaurant that offers a good variety of healthy and thought out kids options - salmon, steak, lovely fish, and a delicious pudding option. Kids were really happy and satisfied and so were we. The parfait went down a storm and didn’t last long. Thank you. Great value, delicious food with a lovely atmosphere.

This restaurant is one of the jewels in Rye's crown. The menu has an excellent range of dishes; everything we had was superbly cooked and presented, and the service by the charming and highly professional staff is first class. We tried a good range of their champagnes and picked up some interesting local information. Their Fish and Chips is excellent, light crisp batter on the gorgeous cod and proper hand-cut chips, the Steak was tender and delicious, the Mussells plentiful and gorgeous, the ham hock presse, tumbler of prawns, cayenne sprats and the taromasalata everything you wanted to be. Ansolutely worth a visit. I think advance booking is probably essential.

Dodatkowo zostawiliśmy informacje że jesteśmy alergikami na olej rzepakowy i słonecznikowy i mam specyficzną dietę od lekarza i tutaj wieki plus ponieważ wszystko to co zamówiliśmy było zrobione tak abyśmy nie dostali boleści żołądka i nie bieli alergii. Dlatego bardzo się cieszymy że obsługa zrobiła dla nas posiłek tak aby był dla nas bezpieczny - dziękujemy 🤍 Polecamy bo jest to miejsce gdzie naprawdę można zjeść pyszne owoce morza ,ryby Świerże pyszne jak wszystko. Nie mogliśmy wyjść z zachwytu jakie to wszystko było pyszne. Czuliśmy się dobrze , smakowało nam bardzo i napewno tak wrócimy i napewno jeszcze inne restauracje ich odwiedziny. Gdybym mogła dać więcej gwiazdek dała bym 10 albo nawet 100. POLECAMY ♥️

Oysters were delicious. Ordered fish and chips which was good. Lobster was small and average - a bit dry. Was child friendly restaurant and attentive staff.

Excellent service and scrumptious food would definitely come back... I had the monkfish wrapped in pancetta with linguine and hubby had the battered cod with new potatoes. Even though it was busy it wasn't noisy.

We celebrated our daughters 50th birthday here yesterday. I had the Rye Fish Stew. Quite simply the best meal I've had ever. Enough said!
