Freshly cooked and very tasty. Large portion and fairly priced. Only complaint would be telephone orders seemed to be processed quicker than those of us queuing outside!

The Cod and chips were very average. The Chicken and Mushroom pie was inedible. Not going back again.

Been a customer almost every week since moving nearby 5 years ago. Found it best to order takeaway in advance by phone as it's popularity means there is often a queue. Not had any reason to complain about the food, staff or service at all. New owners modernised and renamed it Little Common Fish Grill. I still recommend it.

Some weeks ago I had a large cod and chips delivered, no problem, lovely, last week I ordered a large cod and chips to be delivered and they told me there is a minimum charge of £15, why has it changed and why do they discriminate against single people?

We went here yesterday, so glad they were open still in lockdown! we took our freshly made fish and chips to Cooden beach and sat by the sea eating it.... it was some of the most delicious fish & chips we’ve ever had!

Changed it up a bit with lots of re-decroration, but amazing fish and chips! They even did a gluten free batter for the fish (gluten intolerant) which we didn't expect!

Not enough chips with the scampi, plenty of scampi , but expensive for what we got, would have thought roll and butter would not be a burger roll ?

Have had food from here a few times but delivery is always late (half an hour tonight) and food was not hot enough. It’s a shame as they do good food but don’t seem to be able to cope with the delivery side of things. Not sure if I will use again.

Fish tasted a bit 'tangy' think time for an oil change, paper was soaked in grease. Chips were bitty & crusty, like leftovers. Saveloy was tasty though. Had high hope's for The Fishermen...but they were swept to sea!!!

Delivery was late. Was told stuck in traffic when I rang the restaurant. We live a two minute drive away! Food was lukewarm on arrival. Will not order from here again.

The shop has just had a very stylish refurb and looks great. Only bought a couple of portions of chips but they were freshly cooked and very tasty.

Staff are very rude. Call up as received no chips at all as ordered from the fish and chip section,was advised that no chips came with the meal when I called to chase the missing items. Be warned when ordering from here. I defo won't be ordering from here again.

Read previous reviews and was going to avoid this restaurant until someone said it was under new management. We thought we’d give it a go and was not disappointed. We had large cod and chips, gherkin and a soft drink for two. Got to say, it was absolutely delicious. Crispy batter, beautifully cooked fish that actually tasted like cod. The chips were a good portion and perfectly cooked. The waitress even sliced our gherkins and served them on the side. Reasonably priced meal, served by friendly staff. We were told we could also bring our own wine next time if we wanted. Great!! I spoke to the new owner who seems passionate about customer service and is keen to improve this restaurant’s reputation. I hope he does as the food deserves it. We will be returning soon.

Food was the worst I’ve had. Chicken was overcooked and chewy. No salad at all and wasn’t even an option. No sauce in bun so was extremely dry even more so than the overcooked chewy chicken. Burger bun was hard Curry sauce was very runny Mushrooms tasted off and horrible. Sausage wasn’t very nice Gherkin was tiny but otherwise fine. Chips were very average.

Disappointed - we have used Fisherman's for over ten years and until recently it was always the best for miles. We tried the delivery service tonight and sadly got cold chips, lukewarm pie, and it was late.

Such improvement,fish and chips now excellent new owner and staff very friendly,highly recommended to try👍

Yuk don't bother coming here. Chessy chips have a cheese square put on and melted in microwave sausages are Cumberland with spices and all very expensive

Stopped here on way back through to eastbourne got 2 children's chicken nuggets and chips and a portion of chessy chips with a jumbo sausage, the cheese they put on the chips is a cheese square and melted in microwave chips are full of fat and sausage isn't pork its Cumberland with spices and isn't jumbo. Will not visit again.

Fisherman were prepared for us and the minute I said 'Just Eat' they knew my name and were bagging my order. We have long eaten at the Fisherman, but having the option to order ahead and collect is GREAT!

Cheesy chips did not have real cheese on top disappointing but chicken pie was tasty and enjoyed it.

Really shocked how bad the service was this evening. 30 minutes sitting waiting for 2 bags of chips to take away!!! Could understand if there were queues out the door but there wasn't. Then people were getting theirs served who came in after us, really takes the mickey. When my husband asked what was going on they didn't even remember his order (even though he paid when placing the order!) At least they were fresh, but not worth the wait.

30 minutes for a portion of fish and chips. It can’t be difficult, it’s Friday, it will be busy, keep the chips going! Stop chatting and singing along to the radio and engage with your customers. You are not even that generous and the size of the fish you get for just short of a fiver is not brilliant. Shame really as used to be the one I would go to over all the others.

Chips for three, two fish and one mushy peas cost over £19. The chips were flabby, pale, oily and stuck together in a clump. Clearly cooked at way below the correct temperature and not drained. One lump or two? Fish was tolerable and thankfully they hadn’t ruined the mushy peas. The premises were filthy and staff unhelpful. Should be shut down.

Just bought fish and chips for 2 from this place. Never in my life have I had such disgusting food. The fish was black and the batter hard and dark brown. Chips were just bits. The fish is in the bin untouched. They charged 13 pound for two small fish and large in brackets chips. The only reason for going there was blue anchor in Bexhill was closed.

For the third time in a row i 've asked for mushy peas. Got home to find they gave me curry sauce how difficult is it!!!!!!! The fish tonight was just a lump of greasy batter. Won't be using them again

Fish and chips were ok. But had better, wouldnt go back, as was only passing through. Rude staff seemed to be on another planet! Not very welcoming or approachable.

chips are good though seems to take a long time to cook them, and staff attitude is very poor. Dont expect service with a smile, more like a snarl .

Stopped here as we were passing through for takeaway fish and chips. Took a whole 15 minutes to cook as watched every locally known customer seemed to be courted and chatted to and given what they wanted straight away. Two gils behind the counter and not one of them had the gumption to keep me, the non-local customer informed or apologise! Have not seen such tardy "fast food" for a long time. Never stopping by again! Agree with Taniabellamia about the price ... but that's the south of England, always looking to overcharge!

Great fish and chip shop. Very well prepared and staff are very friendly. Been a few times now and always have a good meal.

The two waitresses were constantly talking and we just felt like we were interiority them. We also have then £20.50 to pay a bill of £10.50 and the waitress almost gave us the wrong change. I understand people mess up, but I felt this coupled with the amount of gossiping was just unprofessional. HOWEVER the food was great and it was great value for money. I would recommend the place for food but not if you want someone to talk to you with an ounce of respect :)

Love the fish from this chippie it’s so fresh and freshly cooked too. You can telephone order ahead which I would do on a Friday night as there’s always a queue out the door!

We were a bit bemused with our takeaway. Trip Advisor gives great reviews but in reality it was expensive and the portions were small compared with other bexhill fish and chip restaurants. We came here for convenience, and it was our first time. But we certainly won’t be returning.

I phoned ahead to book a table for 4 adults for 6pm on a Friday, as we had come to visit Bexhill for the afternoon. I'm so pleased I did as only 3 tables inside and the place was buzzing with take away orders and you can see why. Fantastic luscious fish and chips, non greasy light batter and scrumptious chips all cooked to perfection. Spotlessly clean and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend this place.

Always get fish and chiosnwhen visiting family. Food is really good decent portions it is always busy which is a good thing. I do think prices are a little high but think they get away with it...staff are friendly they are on just eat and take phone orders.

Great Food always. Book early for collection on Friday evening Queues 8 to 10 deep at 6pm. This Fish n Chip shop is in my opinion only equalled by the one by the harbour wall in Whitby, North Yorkshire!

Whenever I visit my in laws love coming here...really good enjoyable food...sometimes a little wait for a take out but only because it gets so busy. In my opinion only slightly pricey but really good food !

Found this plaice by chance, cod was freshly cooked and very tasty! Batter was crispy and the chips were good. Pleasant service and atmosphere. Cash only, but there is a cash point directly opposite. Highly recommended

Great fish and chips perfectly cooked. Not that you always need it but the portion sizes are generous. Mst of the time freshly cooked even when an order is placed by phone for collection. Polite and courteous. Fairly priced. Well done.

Been buying my cod and chips from The Fishermans for several years , it can get busy at peak times so best to order for collection. Staff always friendly and sociable and I've never been disappointed with the excellent fish and chips served.

Tonight was a very disappointing meal. The fish did not look or taste like Haddock it was thin and a grey colour,the chips were reheated. It is most unusual as we normally have a great takeaway.I do hope this was a one off.

Only popped in to get some chips but was delighted by the friendly quick service and they were some of the nicest chips I have had in a while. Will definitely be going back.
