Love this place. Love the owner and his dog! I am the guy that has the twins, was in recently speaking about the lad passing his brick laying course. Good selection. Worth a visit.

Terrible customer service owner rude! The shell fish may as well bought a can.

Dodgy whelks, 2 or 3 where ok the others I tried where tough and tasted poor. Took them back but he was not bothered, kept saying f all wrong with them ! Nice

Go to East Dean farmers market on most Wednesdays jellied ells and roasted salmon are delicious and lovely oysters

I bought squid here. Pretty fresh but a little sandy which was hard to wash off. The staffs are super duper lovely. Would buy again here

What a find for tourists like us! Fabulous fresh Fish Shop, right on the front, selling catch from their own boat. I bought a selection - huge scallops (just cooked in garlic and divine), plus huge plaice and a good old fashioned pint of plump prawns for my 98 year old Dad (they disappeared in 20 mins!). All packed up in ice for my journey home... and super friendly service. Highly recommended. See you next time for sure and thank you..!

Great seafood, a bit expensive but you have to pay for quality

I love this plaice 🤭fresh and priced well. Worth the drive from London to here. The whelks are the best in Sussex. Bexhill residents are so lucky to have The Angry Whelk on their doorstep. The cod and haddock are the best I have tasted. No need to fuss around with fish when it tastes so perfect.

Always buy my fish here as it is lovely and fresh. Great selection and helpful recommendations. Would definitely recommend.

Good selection of fresh fish with knowledgeable owner/staff. We also really like the "fish Wellingtons". A bit pricy, but worth it.

Wow what a shop.... The Oysters were fantastic, so much so, started with 6 beautifully presented by a young man, we went back for 8 more an hour later. Lovely young lady chatted and sorted our pawns out. Well done to those youngsters. And a fantastically fresh fish shop.

Mark and miles 2 great blokes! Found their shop on a day trip, fantastic produce went the extra mile to get us some fish he did not have.Will now deffinetly go back 👍👌

Great selection of fresh product. Staff were happy to give suggestions/advice when overwhelmed by the selection available. The salmon fillets we got were amazing!

Really friendly little shop, great quality and prices. Nothing better than sitting on the seafront eating fresh cockles!

Very disappointed. Only down for a couple of days and closed on Sunday and Monday, contrary to published opening times. No notice on the door explaining why either.

Just purchased 1/2 doz Oysters, cost and size brilliant, I've eaten these little (large in this case) crustaceans all over the country, best I've ever had, thanks Angry Whelk

I go all over the UK in camper and love seafood and this is the best, try seafood mix well worth the little extra you pay

Extremely shocked by the treatment to me and my twin babies by the owner. I stopped outside the shop for a moment to reapply sun cream to my two babies while my mum went and bought us a drink. I was then “welcomed” by a very angry whelk of an owner to be told I shouldn’t be outside his shop if I don’t want anything!! Safe to say that neither me, nor anyone else who witnessed will ever be buying our seafood from here!

Always a warm welcome, good choice of fresh fish, and the man is happy to fillet any fish as you want it. Good service. Not a bad price, very reasonable. Must be good as a seagull was sitting outside the door!

Jellies Eews, whelks, cockles, mussels and fush. Whatever fush you want, this place has it. My roll mops were tasty especially in the warm day it was. Topped off by some chilli

This is a great little fishmongers on Bexhill Sea front . Staff are really lovely and fish is very good.

Went in today with my wife and got some fish for our lunch! The guy running the shop was so helpful and prepared it all for us while we had some oysters

We are so lucky to have a fresh fish shop of this quality, the owner being a fisherman bring a true plus

They do prawns etc to eat there and then I love their prawns, I ofrn buy their plaice and take home to cook, Absolutely delicious covered in egg and breadcrumbs and cooked in a little butterr and splashed with lemon and pepper

I gave Mark a list of what I would like for a selection of seafood for visiting friends ... you can see from the photographs how well presented it was, spanking fresh and excellent value. We got a nice "starter" of winkles whelks, oysters, prawns, crab shrimps etc etc and a load of stuff to add to a Paella.

Lovely fish, filleted by a man who knows about his fish and how to fillet them properly, also giving tips on how to cook them. Lovely fresh samphire too. Lots to choose from and reasonably priced.

Great little Fishmonger ( even open on a Sunday). Stopped in to get some raw prawns and they even prepared them for us. Plenty of choice and a good few people sitting outside consuming tubs of various types of molluscs!

Me visita aquí en Bexhill para consumir whelks. No parecían demasiado enojado y era muy sabroso. La única queja que tengo es que son casi el doble del precio que pagué en Eastbourne para la misma bañera de tamaño. El resto de los mariscos frescos y variados parece.

Great fishmongers selling all kinds of lovely seafood and shell fish. The staff are lovely and very helpful. On a nice day you can even sit outside.

Love this place. Top quality and very helpful owners. Always happy to get stuff fresh from market within a week if something special wanted. My new favourate fish shop. As long as can get my "tenticle-fix" then am happy!

Just looking in the window late Saturday afternoon , the owner Mark ask us in. An impressive range of fish. Came away with a selection of whelk, muscles, prawns etc. Well worth a visit if you are in Bexhill.

Went into the angry whelk today, had some oysters and they were superb! fresh, and massive and very good price! also, had some trout and seabass, cooked them for dinner literally the tastiest fish i've ever had! staff are so friendly and always up for a chat! love love love it! will be coming here all the time from now on. Cannot fault the angry whelk at all , great selection of freshly caught fish. Staff are very polite and helpful. Buy my fish and seafood from here every week, I wouldn't buy it from anywhere else as you do not get the same great quality for a very reasonable price. So glad that you are in Bexhill.

Annoyed, just had a sea food salad and it was mainly just bits of crab stick and a few muscles. Found 1 tiny prawn and this it. Cost £4... I can get a whole packet of crab sticks for £1. Very disappointed.

I was going to get some prawns but the lady working there had her dog in the shop it put me off buying them a dog should not be in there, very unhygienic

Great to have a fresh fish shop.Bought a selection of shellfish and really enjoyed the fresh dressed crab.

reasonable choice,and fresh looking. did seem a tad pricy, but convenience helps, as I can walk there! must say, also the third fishmonger within a mile of Bexhill. so they are in competition with others.

Went in here for the first time on Friday and bought a couple of gorgeous Sea Bass, dog treats and a pint of prawns. They were amazing. Be back soon.

This Seafood Shop only opened last month and hopefully it will be there for quite a time too
