Pebbles On The Beach in Rother

Lunch on Friday, outside, with the sun sparkling on the sea. We could have been in the South of France! Weather aside, we spent an extremely enjoyable three hours, with oysters, sea bass, and dessert, washed down with wine, and followed with coffee. Well worth the £110. The service was efficient and unobtrusive, like a good referee! We look forward to the next time. Thanks.

Visited this restaurant situated on Bexhill-on-Sea seafront, lovely setting. Food and service on a Wednesday afternoon was nicely prepared and presented. Only minor drawback , sauces were sachets rather than homemade. Would certainly visit again.

Poor food quality, supposed to be pak Choi , was gem lettuce leaf, potatoes where perfect shaped which means their are tinned, food was not hot, it was warm, very over priced for what’s being offered. Go somewhere else for a far better quality of food and service. To update from your response ,we we’re not advised about the change and if your using something different the price should reflect it, you use the response your chef is good a peeling potatoes is laughable , as their are not cut marks on them. Maybe you should be more honest about your food and the lack of quality, maybe reducing your over priced food might help??

It's a lovely restaurant and I have been there a few times , but today the food was not great. I left most of it. I informed the manager and his response was " well no one else has complained"..that does not mean that my opinion is not valid... Maybe people didn't complain because they felt they couldn't... Anyway ..it's a shame ..it's more about the attitude 😞.

We found this place walking along the promenade. Happy we did, Enzo was welcoming, we had lovely fresh fish and chips. Menu for other seafood looked lovely and we will return to explore! Thank you

We had a delicious starter and cold beverage whilst sitting in their terrace admiring the view from behind the glass window break that surrounds the terrace. Super polite staff, who made us feel that our snack and drink were as important as a full meal. Delicious! Would definitely return here for a meal after our experience.

My partner and I had our valentine's dinner at the Bexhill location in 2023. It was our first time trying oysters (they are amazing). So when they opened in Eastbourne I could not wait to eat there. I took my partner there for his birthday on Sunday 08/09/24 we had a fantastic meal. Molly and her team gave exceptional service. I love the fact it is not too crowded with tables and you can see your food being cooked. We can't wait to visit again.

Our waiter was charming, friendly, and professional. A great menu, reasonable and full of choices. We can recommend the Fruit de Mer. It was such a lovely experience to share sitting next to the sea. Followed by some lovely desserts and coffees.

Waited one hour for food to arrive. Small portions for fish and chips. Both sea bass meals were swimming in what appeared to be butter. Wine very expensive.

We booked a table for a family meal and it was wonderful. The service was fantastic , the staff were approachable and friendly. The food was incredible, we ordered various dishes from the butter chicken, skate , fish and burgers and each dish was cooked beautifully , with great portion sizes. Worth every penny. Nice selection of drinks too. The atmosphere was super, you could talk to those on your table comfortably but with a nice busy feeling in the restaurant. Highly recommend.

We enjoyed a special birthday dinner at this charming restaurant. Service was friendly, attentive, and polite. Cooking was fresh, locally sourced, and skilful. Many thanks to Molly, Lexi, and Rhys for making our evening so memorable. We can’t wait to go back there!

Today l went lunch in this amazing place. The food very flavour,fresh and the a presentation magnific.

Treated my friend for her 60th and it did not disappoint. I tried oysters for the first time and it was delicious. Calamari was very tasty and good old fish and chips was lovely. We sat outside and had a great view. The staff were the right level of attentiveness.

Family meal, kids love it. Lack of draught ale let's it down. Food well cooked, starter squid could have been slightly bigger.

My friend and I popped in for a seafood lunch and were blown away by the fabulous friendly service from Molly and her team and then the food........ well what more can I say. It was ABSOLUTLY fantastic and we have decided Pebbles is our new best restaurant and we will be back soon. Thanks Molly.

Food was good but Pepercorn sauce should carry a heat warning as I couldn't breath after eating some , we were charged for a drink we didn't order or recieve , the service was terrible I suspect it was because we were outside in a corner so we had to wait a lot longer than other tables , staff could just cast an eye round tables from time to time it would make all the difference

Great food, great service. Always a warm welcome and a good menu with a changing specials board from local produce.

If you like seafood, this is second to none ( though it does have a great meat menu as well ) Great service, excellent food and a beautiful outdoor seating area overlooking the sea. An absolute must

Went on Saturday with a few friends to enjoy the sunset over a few drinks (including hot drinks) and sides. Very nice experience and atmosphere that day, nothing to complain about. Came the next day with a different and slightly larger group of people with the intention of doing the same, and was told that hot drinks were only served after a main meal. It looks like their policies change depending on their mood on the day. Bear in mind that there was absolutely no one there on that day, so it wasn’t a question of space. Luckily the grill house 2 minutes up the road weren’t too stuck up their own arse to serve with the same view and better atmosphere. Will not be coming again.

We had lunch today and it was glorious... squid, grilled prawns, mackerel and crab, everything was super-fresh, tasty and well presented. The service was really attentive, the wine was perfect and the sun was shining... just lovely!! Thank you to the whole team x

Dropped in for some light seafood, had deep fried squid that came with a really tasty, zingy Thai dip, and the prawns. I cannot understate this: the pan-fried tiger prawns dish gave me everything that I wanted. Large, juicy and perfectly cooked, and swimming in garlic, parsley and chili butter. You absolutely need bread for this. Also had a glass of the pinot noir rose that was light, fragrant and paired perfectly with the food.

A very lovely lunch today , we hadn’t booked but the manager managed to sort us a lovely table out side under an umbrella, we had grilled prawns and a lovely squid starter followed crab salad and a beach burger , perfect 🤩

Had a lunch with friends. Service was excellent and the food arrived in a timely fashion. The food we all ordered was superb.

We had drinks outside in the afternoon, very nice service with a sea view. In the evening, delicious starters, nice staff. Main course surf burger delicious, but unfortunately without any sauce. Mushrooms in Asian pita bread are delicious, but too much bread.

Lovely restaurant, my second visit here. The food is fabulous, the waiting staff lovely and attentive, we were served by Molly and Genevieve. The restaurant is unpretentious, with a warm friendly atmosphere. I would definitely comeback

The food is tasty but I don't know why their menu looks so foreign? I mean many of explanation wasn't English though, portion is not big enough, so definitely you have to have something extra to be ok. Price is slightly higher than average. But I guess it still might worth to pay for a romantic dinner if you would not be bothered by high ceilings affect on noise. Will I go again? Nope.

Sunday lunch on the terrace, shielded from the breeze and soaking up the sun... What a great location.... and the service from Molly and her team was fantastic - just the right level of attention and very personable.... and the food... Wow! The mackerel starter was superb, as was the tempura squid and the pork barrel bun hit the right notes too. The mains (sea bass, roast cod, fish burger and tuna salad) were first class - perfectly cooked and presented with great flavours! What more could you ask for. Thank you - thoroughly enjoyable;

Nice food with friendly and helpful staff. Had not booked so they managed to fit a table of 4 in before a booking and we were served quickly so out before next customers arrived. Good food as always with interesting vegetarian options.

Mollie was absolutely phenomenal, so happy and friendly, couldn’t do enough to help us. The chefs Lindsey and Rhys did a banging job, we had so much to eat and only cost about £30 a head. Insanely good value for money, highly recommended!

Wonderful place! This is second time we’ve been here for dinner and drinks and both times have been amazing, service has been superb and food super tasty and cooked to perfection. We were a little disappointed to see there were no cocktails on the menu. However when we asked the manageress, I believe her name was Molly she offered to make us some. She asked mine and my husbands likes and dislikes and made us both the perfect cocktails. Definitely the best in Bexhill. Molly went above and beyond to ensure we had the best experience. All staff were amazing and we can not recommend enough.

We had an lovely evening at Pebbles on the Beach, sitting by the beach as the sun went down. The food was excellent and there was a lovely friendly atmosphere. We had Skate wing and Bream fillet both were delicious and perfectly cooked. The tempura cockles were a revelation! I highly recommend this lovely restaurant.

Fancied seafood so took the drive over to Bexhill and Pebbles on the Beach. Perfectly situated on the seafront. Lovely food, great service and good value.

We have just thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Pebbles. The restaurant was recommended to us by friends and didn't disappoint. We were a party of 3 including a 94 year old and the friendly welcome and service we received from all the staff but especially from Molly made our day ! The food was excellent , 1 seabass and 2 soles and 1 of the soles was filleted at the table for us. Sadly we couldn't manage pudding but maybe next time . Thankyou Pebbles for a lovely Sunday lunchtime. Hasta la Proxima xx

A disappointing 3rd visit. We waited more than hour for bland and not very hot food. We had booked in anticipation of previous good meals, will not be returning

Poor food, poor service and an Asian poncing about pretending to be an Italian! Reply to the owner, The reason I left this horrible review is because I was served horrible food, by rude stuck up servers, then spoke to a rude manager, whom in my opinion was FAKE! And if he is indeed Italian can you please provide a copy of his passport to prove this? Otherwise I will have to go with Asian! Also when are king prawns mushy…. Oh that’s right when they are frozen, thawed, frozen and them thawed again! Nice fresh food you have there!

Fabulous food, friendly staff. Generous portions. I had the fish platter for 1, really enjoyed it. Inside and outside seating. Sea views. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. Pay for street parking is short walk away. Interesting building. Lovely decor.

Loved the oysters and seafood platter. Great service, owner is very friendly and jovial and makes you feel welcome. Great outside space with a sea view and even on chillier days it's beautiful to sit there. Please be patient, it gets very busy suddenly when the sun comes out. Take your time and appreciate the staffing levels can't always be prepared for that. They're always efficient and friendly. Good value for the location.

Excellent Fresh Seafood. The hake was perfectly cooked, the cab spaghetti was really tasty & light. Nothing was greasy or overcooked. I don't usually comment unless food is beyond Excellent & I will detour an hour to come here again

Delicious freshly cooked food, great tempura dishes, to die for croquettes, heavenly muscles glistening in wine and cream, crab pasta, oh, such delights to feast upon, I've dined here a few times and will do so again in the not very distant future!

Excellent menu choices. For some reason they could not understand why I didn't want any more than a couple of chips on my plate. The panna cotte had been sitting around a while. It had quite a hard skin on it (what would have been the top when baking), which gave it an unpleasant texture. The prawns were chilled but could have done with being sorted or rinsed as had masses of feelers and stray legs amongst them. When I booked I asked if lobster was available but was told it was out of season. Not strictly true, but hey!

Superb place to come and eat if you're in the area.. from booking, welcoming and being served throughout our meal, we were well looked after. The food all looked and tasted great, potatoes on one plate were almost up to standard if a tiny but small thing but everything we ate was excellent. The oysters here are superb, starters with their sauces, the mains.. I would go as far to say that anything on their menu tastes great, looking at all the different meals that came out and all the clean plates that went back..if we're ever back in the area we would eat here again without a doubt.. well done guys 🙏🏽👍🏾💖

Really nice food and great service. If lucky enough to get the weather, sit outside and enjoy the view over the beach. We had the Fritto Misto to share and it was lovely. Really good food, good prices and great service. Lovely.

Husband's meal of whitebait and lamb croquettes was lovely. The quinoa salad was too. The burger was charcoal on the outside, very over done. But the sauces were tasty.

Best seafood I’ve had in a very long time and all completely fresh. Also tailed very well to dietary requirements (almost everything was Gluten free!).

It's fine. Replaced the Waterfront Club which to be honest, was much better. The staff are very friendly. And the food is fine, particularly if you are a seafood fan, but comparatively expensive. Views are of course fantastic, with unrestricted views into the Channel. But does lack atmosphere. Maybe tainted slightly by being a former member of the Waterfront. But worth a try if you are in the local area.

Nice pub on the seafront, with a decent amount of outdoor seating. Service was a bit slow, considering it was fairly quiet. Waited about 10-15 mins to get served (table service) and then another 10, just for a couple of beers 🤷‍♂️

Just one of the best restaurant we have discovered on the South Coast. Fantastic service, friendly and prompt. The food was brilliant, really well cooked and very tasty. Lovely location, if the weather is kind sit outside and people watch. Highly recommended.

Absolutely delicious food; the squid and the tempura veggies were a highlight. The haloumi fries were “the best I’ve ever eaten” according to my mum!

Fantastic food. The mussels were delicious - a huge portion we couldn’t finish them. Mbali service was great too. I would definitely recommend.

Lovely restaurant with 1st class friendly service. The Mussels were fabulous, big, fresh and in the most delicious sauce. We would have given five stars if we had gone for a fish main. The burger was fine but the speciality is clearly the seafood.

Nice fish dishes, not too keen on the sirloin steak as it’s a bit gristly. Great view of the channel, been here a few times over the past couple of years.

Pebbles is one of our local restaurants. We go there every now and again for a treat. It is expensive compared to everywhere else in Bexhill-on-Sea but for good reason!!!! The outdoor seating is amazing, with perfect sea views with protection from the wind from the glass. We could sit there for hours and hours people watching. The food is absolutely amazing....we have never had a bad meal there. The food is outstanding... Today we had the crab nachos.... Which we always have as they are so delicious........ We then had the specials of Lobster Roll and Plaice, both of which were delicious...... We then managed to squeeze in pudding and my goodness is it worth trying to squeeze a pudding in..... Eton Mess Cheesecake and Jamaican Ginger Cake..... I have never tasted anything as good as that Jamaican Ginger Cake ... Simply superb!!!!!! The great thing about Pebbles is that they always mix up the menu so you always get something new if you want it. Fantastic service.... It really is a fantastic experience that we would highly recommend to anyone..... We are lucky enough to live round the corner but well worth a journey to.

It was the best service, the best kitchen and the best view in my life! Honestly, I haven’t seen such a high quality service in the UK. A lot of nice details like the cleanest dishes, glasses and forks, lovely restaurant workers made my day!

Nice location on the beach however the service really let us down. Once we turned up the manager huffed when we said we’d booked as if we were being an inconvenience. Our waiter was miserable, not once were we asked how our food was or anything. The fish and chips were greasy and the atmosphere was bad. Overall I wouldn’t go back….you can get a lot better just on the sea front!!!

Most lacklustre fruit de mare I've ever had by the sea! 4 Really small prawns, 4 tasteless clams, 2 oysters, 1(!) tiny, tiny crayfish, 2 smallest lobster claws I've ever seen, very dry and tasted as if had been frozen. Don't order it, you'll be disappointed 😥.

My first visit to Bexhill seafront for more than 40 years, drawn there by a recommendation to eat at "Pebbles on the Beach." We weren't disappointed, the food was outstanding! We shared a seafood platter for one and half a lobster with a rich dressing of garlic butter, with side orders of skinny fries and dressed salad. Despite being tempted by a wonderful dessert menu, we simply couldn't find space for more food. The waiters were a young and cheerful bunch, working under the guidance of the proprietors. Despite being a busy Saturday lunchtime, service was friendly, helpful, and timely. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to "Pebbles on the Beach." The food was outstanding, and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend it as representing some of the best seafood (from fish and chips to lobster) the Southeast has to offer.

Lovely restaurant next to the sea. There are not many restaurants with views over the sea like this in East Sussex. Service was great. Food was excellent. Highly recommended. But do book in advance as it’s very popular.
