Minnie Bertha’s has changed hands! However the quality of fish & chips is even better than before! The couple are making an enormous effort to deliver top quality takeaway fish & chips for their new owner! Polite, friendly and trying to do all to make a success of the new opening times!

Ordered cod and chips but the fish was incredibly oily. The chips weren’t great either - a little on the hard side. Regarding delivery, the delivery time kept changing (albeit not by much). When the driver arrived, he didn’t ring the bell and just let himself through the front door a second after knocking! Overall, we were disappointed.

10 family members ordered cod and chips from Mini Bertha’s today. We were a little bit nervous as we knew it had changed hands, but thought we would give it a try. We needn’t have worried, all the food and service was excellent. The fish was absolutely lovely and fresh and cooked to perfection. We all thoroughly enjoyed our food. We will definitely be back!

our drinks were missing. delivery driver told me to.phone the shop but the number doesn't work.

Food is over priced. We ordered for delivery and in that order we paid for 3 drinks which weren't delivered. The delivery driver told me to phone the shop. I phoned the only number I could find for Mini Berthas and it was out of service.

Well, clearly not as good as it used to be. I didnt think it would make much difference with new owners, after all its just fish and chips right? Wrong my belly is cast iron but the oil seems to be different or old. Second time I tried it and chips did the same thing last time. Was nice at the time. But something has changed...

Just eat delivered on time but driver I think not sure what code was so came back to door and asked for my mobile number as instead of saying code I said 8354 as that is what he asked for

Ordered through Just Eat, order was accepted but no update was given, delivery time came and went and still no update!

Excellent service if excellent food. Worth noting that though the picture for cod shows chips with the fish, they have to be ordered separately. This is great for choice, but could lead to disappointment for people new to this restaurant.

This has got to be the worst fish and chips I have ever eaten and I have eaten some bad ones in my time but this used to be a family favourite but no more. You pay for thick soggy batter with a thin bit of fish. Over £50 for 4 meals and literally most of it went in the bin. Minnie Berthas has gone down the toilet and the palm oil they use tastes fowl. Gross dinner and biggest waste of money. For shame on you, for shame!

order was wrong i paid for a large cod and it game the same size as the medium cod and i had less nuggets than what i paid for

Popped down to Bexhill for a walk on the beach with the dog on Christmas eve and stopped for fish and chips. It was really good, chips were great and I though a decent price too. The lady serving was lovely even gave us a saveloy for the dog. Will definitely be going again when I'm next in Bexhill

Been going to Minnie Bertha's for at least 10 years for days out by the sea with cod and chips. I read that it had declined under the new owners but wanted to judge myself. It has definitely gone down in quality and size of both the large cod and chips. The fish used to fill the box and be 1cm think. Not half the size and thickness. Chips were OK but overdone. Unfortunately I will not be going back there are there are several other good chip shops a little way back from the seafront.

Took over an hour and the fish was inedible. Oil not drained off the fish. Literally swimming in a puddle of oil. Also forgot to include my curry sauce. Chips were nice but overall not worth £20 in my opinion.

Cod is terrible no flavour think it's frozen as thin as a piece of paper and cooked in very old oil that you can see all over the wrapper

Fish was over cooked, batter was brown rather than golden so fish was dry, and way too much grease, by the time I got home (2minutes) the boxes were soaked in oil. Chips over cooked too.

Previous owner was good , The current one is really rude , He don’t know how to deal with people , when I got delivery from uber eats the guy told it will take 5 to ten minutes, , after all it’s take 35 minutes, in between every 5 minutes, he was telling that , it’s getting ready , when it’s ready I try to make sure all the items was there he told everything was there , after I delivered , I got call from coustmer, and told that 2 packets of chips was missing,I sorry to him and try to call shop but it’s don’t works , later I gone shop and Inform the man ,he told will deal that with uber eats , told please make sure next time everything on the bag , he was very rude , he was blaming other staff done that , actually it was his mistake, highly attitude man don’t know how to deal with people . But the staff member told sorry , poor lady

The best fish IPs I’ve had in absolutely ages

Terrible service. Order never arrived despite saving it was delivered. Order placed at 6pm and still wasn’t delivered by 8pm. No telephone number to call either to quiery the order. AVOID.

We gave over an hour’s notice for this order, plenty of time to be prompt. However, OVER AN HOUR LATE! There is absolutely ZERO EXCUSE for this. The time just kept going up and up and up - even when the food was enroute the driver was apparently sitting in one spot for ages according to the map…. The time again went up and up and up!!! Safe to say, we won’t be wasting our money at this establishment again. Poor service especially as you CANNOT RING THEM!!!!!!

Ordered via Just Eat for 6.40pm delivery. Still NOT here over an hour later.

BEWARE .. This place only has good reviews and ratings from its previous owner…Haven’t visited since new management and will not return. So overpriced, Saveloy and sausage not cooked and stone cold. Poor service and despite ordering in advance waited around for the whole order to be cooked even though the app stated food was ready to collect..the women in the shop could not have cared less. Worst fish and chips in Bexhill please do not waste your money here. Will never return to what once was a really decent chippy.

This used to be my favourite chippy now it has changed to new owners and is now one of the worst I've had, charged £10.90 for cod that is the smallest and thinnest I've ever seen and is all batter, also the batter and chips taste like old oil, I will never eat here again

Burger appeared to be deep fried, very dry so had to waste it. Chips are good though

Horrid, awful,never again. We only had two sausage and chips. The sausages were hard and cold, and the chips were the worst I have ever tasted. They oil must have been months old and the chips refried so many times. I went into complain discreetly so other customers did not hear, but it fell on deaf ears. 30 minutes later, my stomach was churning, and my husband was actually sick. In fairness, he went back in to them and was given a full refund. To be honest, I would have preferred not to have felt ill and they deserved the money.

Cod and chips freshly cooked so a little slow but well worth the wait, absolutely delicious. Only problem is there is no free parking here as it was at the sea front.

Had a fish, chips and mushy peas takeaway. The chips and peas were nice. The cod was enormous but flat. It tasted okay but the bottom of the batter was a bit soggy which spoiled it.

We ate here with another family at lunchtime during the holidays. Didnt have to wait long and all freshly cooked. We have come here for fish and chips for the last 3yrs; food was as tasty as ever. New owners were lovely and friendly. We all loved it and felt the standard was the same as its always been! We will be back very soon!

Stopped here for fish and chips at the seaside. No specials, infact no fish other than "Cod fish" or so I was told. My total meal came to £18.50 large chips, medium cod, saveloy, gherkin and curry sauce. Everything was ok, chips were decent, the Cod was nice although very small for nearly £9. I'd use them again if I were in the area, but I would ask to see the size of the fish before I ordered it.

A wait for 5 mins or so, but the fish was so fresh, so well cooked. Quite large portions too, we really enjoyed it.

I used to avoid this chip shop but it has now changed hands so I have it a go. I've only had chips but they were lovely, looking forward to giving the fish a go when I'm flush enough 😀, would however like to know why I can get large fish and chips in Yorkshire for £10 but not down south

Had pie and chips, chips weren’t bad, but The pie wasn’t heated up at all, was just wrapped and sent out. Wouldn’t be so bad if it had just gone cold but clearly had not even been heated at all.

Fish was lovely but the sausage was under cooked and curry sauce was very watery as if watered down chips were ok very disappointed

Unfortunately we did not enjoy our food as the chips appeared to have been reheated. Everything else was ok and made to order. Staff friendly.

Visited today at 20:45 to buy having checked closing time on website saying 21:30. Told very rudely that they were closing. A real don’t care attitude to customers. Never again. RIP off prices & portion sizes by all accounts looking at other reviews. I can remember when this was a friendly, sensibly priced, good quality establishment. Sadly no more under new management.

Mini Berthas has been one of favourite places for fish and chips and not just for its location across from the beach. So when we had friends visiting from America, it was the obvious choice We had heard it was in new ownership and reviews have been mixed but our experience was excellent. We were surprised at on a sunny lunchtime, there was no queue but this worked in our favour as we had a big order for 14 people of fish and chips and burgers (both veggie and meaty). They were not phased by this and took the order efficiently and we were able to check this as they have a customer facing screen. The order was out within a very reasonable wait and they double checked we had drinks etc. Also they offered a choice of sauces and asked whether salt and vinegar should be put on all meals as some were for children. The food was all declared delicious and even suited our picky Americans!

Asked staff to dispose of box for me but the tall young girl just pointed to the bin at the rear of shop instead of helping so needs some customer service. It was clear I was struggling as I have a disability and tbf it’s just #rude

In stead of fish and chips I only got for nearly £16 just the cod. no calls or anything to let me know. on the photo is shown fish and chips but for £16 you let the customer know it's only cod and nothing else. not even a lemon was included. this is miss selling in my eyes.

Bought medium chips last week for £4.50 .plenty of them but inedible. Although there was a wait the chips seemed as if they’d been hanging around. Hard, tasteless and strange taste. Threw them away, waste of money!

Highly recommended. Fabulous fish and chips, hot, crispy batter on the fish. Nicely presented in a box. We ate in nearby Kerrys cafe which is a permitted joint venture, so we were able to have a cup of tea with the meal and a place to sit. Order at Minnie's then collect and ask staff at Kerrys if its OK. I don't think you have to order anything at Kerrys but we are polite and wanted drinks anyway. Minnie Berthas is a tiny shop, and is not actually easy to see which way to queue, wheelchairs might struggle. Parking nearby free after 6pm, pay if earlier. Minnies and Kerrys are Right opposite the seafront so a lovely post dinner walk is just the ticket.

It's a Fish & Chip shop, can't really rate it for atmosphere.

Seemed like that had very old oil everything tasted off. Very greasy - cod was barely detectable in the thick batter and very chewy, we thew it away - inedible and so expensive

We waited 27 minutes for Cod, Chips and a sausage. Had to ask at the counter after 25 minutes for our food and only then did they box up our order. Pretty terrible service considering it wasn’t busy. Seemed to be focusing on Uber eats orders and they had 6 people behind the counter. Definitely would not recommend, absolutely ridiculous amount of time to wait. The chips were good but the batter was soggy and they put salt and vinegar on the chips without asking…

Don't bother coming to order here. Staff can't understand English. Overcharge you then forget your order. Totally terrible place. Avoid at all costs

Waited 40 mins for large chips to be told I had to pay £4.50 for what was clearly small chips. Then the 15 year old behind the counter told me that's the price for that size chips?? Then they where undercooked when eaten. Avoid avoid avoid. Rip off prices for poor quality food.
