used to love it here but i visited recently and the quality of service and food has really gone downhill. such a disappointment

Both mine and my daughter chips had multi hairs in them. Really disgusting

Over-priced (other options in Bexhill are 25% cheaper with bigger portions). Poor service.

Waited 40 mins for large chips to be told I had to pay £4.50 for what was clearly small chips. Then the 15 year old behind the counter told me that's the price for that size chips?? Then they where undercooked when eaten. Avoid avoid avoid. Rip off prices for poor quality food.

Love the fish and chips here and the fact you can eat your tea in Kerrys and have a drink.

Two times in a row that they have cancelled our order for deliver on Uber Eats for the same delivery time. If they don’t want to deliver as far away as I live then maybe they need to change with Uber the distance that they are willing to deliver

Highly recommend. Generous portion of chips. Fish cooked to perfection, as I like saying it tastes fishy. Mushy peas were good too.

Just opposite Bexhill Marina, this takeaway-designed fish and chips shop is a must to try. The store is small but is clean. Food choices are good and the food we ate are delicious. The food portion are just right, we ordered cod and chips and onion rings. You can pay by cash or debit card. Three table option outside but you can enjoy your meal standing with condiments at hand inside too. The staff are accommodating and friendly. There is a box place you can leave feedback too. Best of all, its MSC certified. There are pay carparks nearby. No toilets though.

Very friendly staff, food was cooked fresh for our large order but was still very fast and perfectly done. Any food division was checked to make sure the food could go together (no pork in the same box as fish). Chips were perfect. Will be back.

I went on Thursday for the first time and it was lovely. It was my wife's 50th the next day and when I asked her what she wanted she said fish and chips from the same restaurant. It was even better the second time. My wife is the fussiest customer you will have and she now loves the place. Ignore the reviewers who rave about the place and then only give it 4 stars. They're idiots.

First time I’ve been here and was welcomed by very friendly staff and the fish and chips were cooked to perfection lovely fresh fish and chips .

Brilliant, freshly cooked and reasonably priced fish and chips. All served up, with a smile, by the excellent staff. A sunny day, so sat and ate outside this great seafront shop.

When work brings me towards Hastings I have been known to get fish and chips on the seafront at various places, though I do object to their tax-dodging cash-only scam. However, on this occasion I had to do a work visit to Bexhill and found myself at lunchtime on the seafront, and having not been here for fish and chips, thought I'd give it a go. I just randomly picked Minnie Bertha's as I was right there. I have no knowledge of Bexhill, so nothing to compare to, and no prior knowledge of where to go. Firstly, they offer a cod alternative which happened to be pollock. I do like pollock, so gave it a go, and at £6.40 with chips was a nice surprise, and, I paid by card. Awesome. I took my package to a bench on the seafront. The chips were magnificent. I have often had chip-shop chips that are dark, flabby and sour tasting, but not these, which were bright and fresh, crunchy outside and fluffy inside, more like a restaurant or pub chip than a chip shop. I might even say these were the best chip shop chips I can remember ever having. And then there was the pollock. This was amazing. The freshest and crispiest batter, no soggy areas, and the pollock was so fresh and light, and with a nice surprise of a wedge of fresh lemon. The real test with me comes an hour after I've eaten, which is when I often regret having fish and chips and end up feeling uncomfortable. Not today. Not even close. Minnie Bertha's beats any fish and chips I've had in Hastings, and may even beat Lyme Regis too. Taking into account that this was half the price of cod and chips in Brighton, and better, I have to conclude that this place is outstanding. Very friendly and happy staff too. Now I will have to try and get more work in Bexhill, because I want to do this again. I can't recommend Minnie Bertha's highly enough. I'm sitting here at quarter past midnight on a Tuesday night and still thinking about it, it was that good.

Without a doubt the best fish and chips in Bexhill and St Leonard’s but no longer open in the evenings which means I can’t get them anymore

The best and most atmospheric chip shop in Bexhill. However there is usually long waiting times (sometimes up to 40 mins) and their opening times are always changing (they aren't open on a Wednesday for some reason) but worth it for the food as I have never had better.

Had seriously delicious takeaway haddock and chips from here. The fish was such good quality I thought. Friendly and efficient service. My daughter couldn’t eat all hers, and when my husband ate the leftovers a few hours later reheated he still thought they up there with the best he had ever had!

Our family & extended family eat Berthas nearly every single Friday. Love the fish! And it is locally caught too.

Don't know what happened to this lovely fish and chips shop, food is great, but have they now become a part time chippie. They used to be open 7 days a week, I believe you should have break but it looks like they're only open 3 days a week WHAT HAPPENED? And only open certain times where they were open all say. Really sad!

Very fast service, good portions and great food. I got the white bait, the calamari and some chips and it came to just over £14. There was more than enough food for me and my friend. It was delicious and there was plenty of variety on the menu.

Ordered via eat app Delivery . Best fish & chips I’ve eaten in a long time . I ordered a large cod & small chips . White succulent fish , crispy golden thin batter & nicely cooked chips . Friendly service, but our haddock had bones in it. Large chips were on the small side but quite tasty.

Lovely piece of cod, batter was perfect, no claggy layer of wet flour you get at some places, light and crispy as it should be. Wasn't dripping with oil either. Chips were good chip shop chips, too . Our go-to eaterie whenever we visit Can't recommend highly enough.

Was recommended 'Minnie Bertha's By my mum as we have just recently moved to bexhill ... Ordered cod & chips & plaice & chips to eat on the seafront, plaice was nice, but no way was it cod that we were served, the texture was totally wrong, such a shame, but chips were good, will get fish checked to make sure .

Was down Bexhill visiting for a few days and decided to try here for dinner one night. Absolutely terrible! Prices are way too high, the wait for our food was far too long and the food was bland. Not to mention the rudeness from the manager and poor service. Never again!

Exceptional fish & chips and great value. I had one of the tastiest haddock & chips I’ve ever eaten and it was less than £10. Right on the seafront so I ate it on the beach. Cooked to order and very friendly service, I couldn’t have asked for more.

Sadly, not as good since the business changed hands. I no longer go there.

Took my order and paid then had to wait 25 minutes outside in the cold. Still waiting I was directed to Kerry's café where I was told I could eat my food. A further 20 minutes passed and my order arrived and was totally wrong. Wrong fish and no chips. Went back to the shop and demanded a refund. Told they would correct it but a further 45 minute wait was not acceptable. I then went to McDonalds. Served ate left in 20 minutes.

Very disappointed as we checked the time for opening hours on the website says open till 9.30 .on arriving at this chip shop notice even said 9.30 open till .But when we got there at 8.15 staff was cleaning up got told we are closing now in a very rude manner def needs needs working on there customer service skills .Also Do think there going to advertise opening times on website and in the chip shop window stating these times and closing earlier maybe need to think about changing there advert.

A fish and chips to take away or eat at the bar next door (they bring it to the bar). Spectacular, fresh hake, very well battered and cooked. The potatoes are also very good, they do not neglect any of the product. They have a children's menu and make other dishes (burgers, sausages, etc.) for those who don't fancy the classic fish and chips. It is very well priced. In conclusion, a highly recommended fish and chips. I would dare to say that it is one of the best in the area.

A lovely friendly chippy with really nice fish and chips.

From ordering to being given my food in the shop took 40 minutes to get 3 small cod and chips. While I was waiting in the shop the older man (presumably the owner) was incredibly rude to the young members of staff. Other than the wait time and how I saw the staff being treated I couldn’t fault the food. Due to what I witnessed in the shop I would not visit again.

Great food as always, but I'll never go back. The way a trainee was spoken to was appalling. I'm assuming it was the owner who swore and berated him for wasting 2 chips, putting salt and vinegar on (as there was a mistake over whose order it was.) As I was waiting for chips the same size, I offered to take one, but he insisted on throwing both out. Well, he also threw out every future order I would have made with that!

Have to give 5 stars for the consistently excellent fish and chips they dish up, but the waiting time is something else! However, as long as you're not in any sort of hurry you're patience will be rewarded with arguably the best in Bexhill.

One of the best Fish and Chips i have had in a long time. Right on the beach front too so not far to walk for a perfect bite to eat. Big selection to choose from even catered for my vegan Mrs. Staff really friendly and helpful.

Just got a medium cod and chips from here for my brother always get medium as it is generally still a bit much for him. Cost has gone up ridiculous and quality gone down badly. Medium cod was more like small, if I had seen it I would have had to order two for him and chips tasted stale, like they were just reheated. Will not be visiting again

Stopped at Bexhill on the way back to London and found a queue outside Minnie Bertha's Fish & Chip shop, so joined the queue! which went down quite quick! Due to plenty of staff, who were very friendly and helpful and all knew what they were doing. Fish & chips was delicious! Crispy batter around the fish, I had haddock my husband had cod, both cooked to perfection and well cooked chips. Highly recommend a visit.

Poor medium fish portion size , chips overblanched and oil not heated enough leaving soggy fat infused chips and a sliver of fish that was all batter. I was really hungry otherwise it would have gone back . charged me £8.45

Came in. Ordered 3 chips. Asked for them the traditional way (in paper) and was told quite rudely that they only come in a box. Even when there's a stack of chipshop paper on the counter. The servers were polite, just the older man that lacks customer service skills - maybe he was having a bad day.

This place is the joint best fish and chip shop in Bexhill and also the joint beat fish and chip shop I've ever tried (both in Bexhill). The staff are amazing and friendly and even though on many occasions there's people lined up out the door, they keep everything running smoothly with little fuss or complications. The food is fantastic and the prices are fair. If you want amazing fish and chips, on the coast then this is the place for you. The amazing food is only secondary to the fantastic customer service they provide. They're so friendly, warm, and helpful. I value this above anything else.

Definitely one of the best fish and chips myself and my husband have had in a very long time - if ever! Definitely cooked fresh from order and both the batter and chips were really crispy and tasty. Staff were also friendly and the shop is only a quick walk across the road so you can eat on the beach before everything starts to get soggy! Would definitely recommend!

As a 'walk-in' your order will be repeatedly put back. DON'T BOTHER, try Athena's? Disappointing quality, to say the very least. Terrible (seriously, you may die of hunger) terrible walk-in service. Never ever ever will we darken their utterly neglectful, arguably greasy doorways again. Poop.
