Had an amazing experience at this Mexican restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious, with generous portion sizes that left me completely satisfied. The prices were reasonable too, making it all the more worth it. The overall vibe was great, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone craving good Mexican food.

Food is absolutely delicious and one hell of a quantity. Ambience is really nice and people are very welcoming & friendly. One of the best Mexican food I've had till date.

I ordered a chicken fajita and a Margarita. The fajita dish came with enough chicken and burritos for two. The chicken was tasty. The Margarita was excellent. I was the only patron at around 5 pm but surely the place will fill up later. As for Mexican food in an out of place like Rye the offerings were of very good quality. I will have no hesitation to return. The only negative is the the wifi is very slow since I could not use data on my phone because the mobile reception was very poor because of being indoors and surrounded by other buildings.

The staff were very friendly and recommended great food choices. Would recommend, very reasonably priced for portion size. Ribs were exactly as described and fell off the bone!

Slow service and food even slower. We ordered 3 dishes and waited 45 minutes. Food was very average when it came and there was a hair in my Pina colada. Waiter/waiters were friendly, however.

We had the burritos both were really dry and bland. And the rice was like it was from a packet. Loaded nachos were soggy and just no flavour at all. Overall really wasn’t that great. Bit disappointed.

Visited this wonderful Mexican restaurant during our visit to Rye. Delicious food and amazing environment is something to indulge into. A must visit place if you are in Rye and loves your mexican food.

We wanted to try somewhere new, and as lovers of Mexican food, Los Gringos did not disappoint! From start to finish, everything was exceptional. The melt-in-the-mouth calamari was one of the best we've had, and the mango sauce with the salt and pepper squid was an absolute highlight—such a perfect balance of flavors! For mains, we had the tuna steak and king prawn fajitas, both cooked to perfection and bursting with taste. To top it off, I had a Virgin Colada mocktail, which was absolutely delicious—creamy, refreshing, and the perfect tropical treat. The service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and made us feel so welcome. We couldn’t recommend this place enough and will definitely be back for more!

We were a tipsy party of 14. We experienced a slight delay getting our starters, but my god, the food is sooo good. Highly recommended. Staff really smiley and nice. Heard a whisper that the place isn't too popular but as visitors, we all raved about it the next day. Would deffo go back.

If you’re in the mood for spicy Mexican comfort food, this is for you. It serves all the favourites - nachos, tortillas, enchiladas and burritos - that tick all the boxes. The restaurant consists of simple wooden tables and cheers, with spaghetti western posters on the walls. The staff are friendly, the portions are generous and the prices are a bargain.

Visiting Rye for one night, and the restaurant looked bright and welcoming. Couldn't fault the friendliness of the waitress, but the place was freezing - even the chefs in the kitchen had fleeces on. The cocktails that tempted us in were all off the menu, as there was no one in who knew how to make them. Food was bland and clearly microwaved - I burnt my mouth on the enchilada, but the rice with it was only lukewarm. To make matters worse, when my partner got up to pay he ripped his jeans on a loose piece of metal on the edge of the table. When reporting this, the response was just "oh sorry, there are a few like that" Not good enough, Los Gringos, I'm afraid....

Went for lunch today and the food was just okay. The chilli isn’t spicy at all even though there is a warning saying how spicy it is and the chicken fajitas didn’t really have any flavour too them and were quite dry. The service was okay but the atmosphere was a little odd. Left feeling disappointed over a mediocre meal.

Nice atmosphere. Has so much potential. Got the spicy beef tacos. They were not spicy and I'm a mild spicy person. A bit disappointed that the hard taco shells did not taste homemade, more like store bought. Salsa would have helped a bit with these tacos. I got a Strawberry Daiquiri that seemed very light on the alcohol. I'm not a huge drinker yet the alcohol was definitely being a bit shy in this drink. It only will take a few tweaks to make this a great Mexican restaurant!

Popped in for lunch prior to a trip to the cinema. Very tasty food (had chilli filled potato skins to start and burritos and chimichangas for mains) and fulsome portions. Definitely recommend!

Food was great, our first visit would definitely go back again! It was busy which is a good sign, only negative would be perhaps more front of house needed but only to keep up with demanding public. Big pat on the back very happy!

Kept the kitchen open in order to serve us. Really wonderful experience would absolutely recommend to a friend or to sit down.

Drive there was a bit rough but totally worth it! Was greated with smiles all around when I walked in, the staff took the time to talk to me the whole place had a lovely atmosphere! I definitely will have to eat in the restaurant one day :D finally got home and the food was still warm despite my long journey! Made the experience even better to see that they gave us free nachos! The portion sizes as soon much bigger than I expected and everything tastes delicious! 100% recommend 🤗

First visit to this restaurant in Rye. Whilst the starters and main courses were good, the sticky toffee pudding arrived cold and the service was very poor. We had to call the waiter several times to order food and drinks. Not the best dining experience

We have passed this amazing restaurant a few times and had dinner there last night. The welcome we got was so warm and lovely, the restaurant is very clean. We had a sharing platter for starter which was so delicious and chicken and steak fajitas for mains. The fajitas were on another level so much flavour but not spicy which was perfect for me! We left a generous tip which they expressed their gratitude for. Excellent service and excellent food! Be back soon!

Very expensive and the guacamole was just horrid I couldn’t eat the nachos. The cheese on the burrito was plasticky and the tacos were mediocre. Disappointing as the food used to be so much better, they’ve clearly found a (much) cheaper supplier.

Spontaneous Sat afternoon visit, fantastic staff, great ambiance - I loved the music & don’t think it was just the mojito! We had nachos, a beef burrito & chicken fajitas, a beer & a mojito. Great food.

Popped in to Los Gringos for a light snack on a very busy evening. They were very accommodating and Chris even made me a cup of tea (not on their menu!) because it was so cold outside. Lovely friendly atmosphere and good value. Thank you❣️

Went for lunch, had nachos and sizzling chicken, was very impressed with the generous portions, slight concern was that my chicken was slightly overdone All in all though a nice place to dine, and enhanced by John Wayne pillows and Western film posters

My family and I have been visiting Rye regularly for many years and after eating here once it immediately became one of our favourites; The food is delicious, the portion sizes are ideal, its great value for money and to top it off the staff are lovely. Had a wonderful evening at Los Gringos. Great, friendly and fun service with super delicious food. Visiting from London for the weekend and had amazing calamari to start and then the Chicken Maya Pineapple dish for mains which was lovely. Would 100% recommend.

Went above and beyond even after a crazy East Sussex bonfire night. Extremely grateful and highly recommend. Chris was especially nice, we were stressed about getting home and happy to be here

This place is amazing! The best Mexican food I've had since I've moved to England. The spicy ground beef tacos were DELICIOUS comes with a salad, the lettuce was fresh and crisp. I wanted to just sit and eat all day long. Coming from living in Chicago i know great Mexican food and Los Gringos has it. I can't recommend this place enough. Most likely, it's the only place I'm going to eat while I'm in Rye. I'm looking forward to going back for dinner in a few hours. We had an amazing evening here! The food was exceptional (steak fajitas were orgasmic) and the service was fantastic! Chris made us feel very welcome, had a great sense of humour and couldn’t do enough. We will definitely be visiting again soon! Highly recommend!

From start to finish the restaurant service was amazing thanks to Chris. He ensured we were happy with the food, topped up with drinks, provided with fun hats and took such cute photos of us and just made the whole night more enjoyable. Felt very taken care of while allowed to enjoy our night to ourselves. Will be back as soon as possible. Food and service both amazing! Had the best time. Great vibes.

Food is overpriced and not cooked well at all ie no real flavour to their food. Plus £3 delivery AND almost £2 service charge 😅 won’t be ordering again. Wouldn’t mind paying if the quality was good. Only good thing about this was the delivery guy

Came here for dinner last week and had the best experience! Fantastic service, value, and food was so yum! Coming from someone that used to work in a Mexican restaurant too 😉 tacos were packed with meat, and had a really decent plate of nachos as an appetiser. Casper served us and was really friendly and checked a couple times if we were enjoying everything. Don’t have any photos because our phones had died after a full day trip, but we will be back next time we come to Rye!

We ate here three times in a four day stay. The food is excellent and reasonably priced. Service is good. They have a lot of choice of different dishes so there is something for everyone.

Probably a fun place in the evening for a few drinks and some sober up food, but no authenticity in this restaurant. The food is not flavoursome, nor are the dishes authentic. Microwave rice? Spicy beef with no heat? Come on guys up the game and become an authentic Mexican restaurant with amazing food that recreates dishes in Mexico. Ditch the cheesy theme restaurant, packet rice and Microwave. On the plus side, staff friendly.

Had a birthday. Was great. Atmosphere very quite warm on a Sunday after 6pm . Was greeted and was told to seat where we like. Which is nice. The service was good it wasn't busy, we had had a lot of attention on us.. shifnif gotten the guys names that's served us. But they done a good job.. Wasnt watching the prices. Spent just under £100. Worth it. Good food

Food on the whole was good, but it arrived 20 minutes late, cold and not what we ordered. Only minor changes (chimichangas rather than burritos so rice and salad on the side rather than inside the tortillas), still disappointed & child really hungry!

This really hit the spot during a long day. If you are from North America, you will appreciate the menu. Lots of bold flavors and great customer service. The Owner was in, and gave my daughter a lollipop. It was a great experience.

Mediocre food and with festive Mexican music in a pleasant enough setting. Margaritas were very disappointing. Second and last visit here. I don’t think they grasp what good Mexican food tastes like.

Disappointing. Unauthentic food. Shame they can’t be bothered making a delicious home made guacamole,, Instead comes straight from A tub…artificial and quite tasteless. Would not recommend sadly

Good food, good service, reason its a 4 and not a 5 is the sangria was brought out with no fruit and not great taste either. The chicken burritos were smaller than expected. The veggie tacos needed a bit more flavour. The Alabama chocolate cake was full of jam, was not expected, not a pleasant surprise. The toilet was dirty.

We love the JD Ribs so much for the size, price and portion sides. We eat out lots but never feel as satisfied with the value as we do here. Great cocktails, great staff and great selection of hats!! We strongly recommend 😊

Had a perfectly acceptable meal here when other places were letting us down.

Had high hopes for this Mexican as it was quite busy and we had to book. Staff were friendly but seemed unorganised. Lots of staff around the entrance where the computer is which can be quite off putting as some didn’t know how to use it so lots of conversations about people’s bills near your table. Took around 20 mins for them to take our order, of which the starters never arrived. Again staff were polite and very apologetic and took the starters off the bill. Mains arrived around 50 mins which were good, not amazing but decent. Unfortunately the cocktails (Long Island ice tea) were too strong and not mixed properly so we didn’t drink them.

Was alright. Food was pretty good and service was not too bad. . Not amazing but not bad either . The prices were competitive

We popped in here to grab a quick bite after arriving relatively late into Rye on a Thursday evening. Place is inoffensive and perfectly nice. Table was a bit sticky and hadn't been wiped down. Service was fine. The distinctly average nature of the initial experience made us worry about the food. But we needn't have worried. We got the nachos, tacos and a burrito, and it was all very nice. The chicken burrito in particular (over the ground beef) was tender and tasty in a fresh, "stretchy" burrito wrap. 👍🏼 No beer on tap, bottles only.

We popped in for a light dinner and it was a lovely restaurant. Great atmosphere.

Me and my husband ate here last night and the food was lovely, we shared nachos to start and then my husband had steak fajitas which he said was delicious and I had chimichanga which again was really nice. We love a Mexican so look forward to coming again to try more of the menu.

Sad to see shay had left. Third time going in last night with high hopes that shay would be there to learn he'd left. Nachos had lack of cheese and the sizzling beef wasn't sizzling and came out well done when I'd asked for medium and the salad and chips were late coming out. We were rushed to finish our starters and were offered our main course when 1 out of 4 were still eating. The only person that was fantastic at their job and went above and beyond was hamza...it would be a shame to loose another good member of staff!! We weren't offered desserts and the restaurant was in darkness by 10:30pm on a Saturday night.

Absolutely shocking behaviour when it came to delivery time. I want a refund ASAP. Food was okay if it wasn’t ice cold then maybe would’ve been more edible. Very disappointing!!!

The food was very good, but the Citizen that we ordered to take away and unpacked at home was not only burnt inside and out, but charred!!! Inedible. We had to throw it away!! Impudence!

What a great place to eat, food was great value (Ribs were👌) and top quality. It was my daughters 13th birthday 🎂, they surprised her with a fruit mocktail with candle and sung and clapped happy birthday. Service was great, would highly recommend will be returning.

For the price of a burrito I would expect them to at least put it together for me. I ordered a few for take away, was given boxes of all of the elements of a burrito but not actually put together. What is the reason for this? By the time I have it home I have to now build it myself?? Surely for such a high price this is your job??

Great service - staff were very accommodating to my children’s fussy needs! Really enjoyed the food too, especially the tortilla chips.
