The best restaurants in Rother South East

A very disappointing 45th wedding anniversary meal . Underwhelming food in a very strange menu format ! Pretentious and a lot of style over substance . Strange searing arrangement, window seat very high … my husband felt like he was in an interview ! I was very cold throughout the meal due to window being very draughty. Can’t recommend on any level . Disappointing evening .

Excellent flavours and value for money

Food was delivered 10 minutes early which is as good as it gets really. I ordered a Pork burrito and onion rings. The burrito had no flavour at all with a tortilla wrap that was burnt. The onion rings were warm but soggy. I will definitely not be going back. Dreadful.

Went as a walk in pre theatre. Good menu with wine pairing and friendly staff. Will go on summer to sit outside and enjoy the sea view

We recently held our Dad's wake at the George in their Beautiful upstairs function room and to say it went well is an understatement. From start to finish the booking process between us and the Anna at the George was perfect. Anna and her team they were all amazing on the day, leaving us to not worry about a thing. Thank you so so much for making a realy hard day actualy so much more bearable. Dad would have loved it thank you to All of the staff who looked after us and the chef for last minute chips for the children 😀 xx

Half the food unavailable, and small portions of what was available. disinterested staff too busy chatting to serve. Too expensive for crap service. Won’t be returning. Give it a miss.

Great little find! We stopped in for a drink and a little bite to eat. Wasn't dissapointed staff was very friendly and welcoming. Food was really good, and we said one of the best loaded Nacho's we have had. Lovely atmosphere and done some stalking afterwards to see they have a lovely b&b upstairs which i spotted on instagram and have added to my list! Looks very chic! Would definitely come again! We were told "sorry no children" right at entering. Given the other reviews here I think the lady just wasn't bothered to serve us on Sunday afternoon. Massive dogs are allowed, though.

Rooms are not exquisite but are comfortable quiet and have everything you need. The staff go above and beyond while being friendly. The food was to die for!! Expecting small portions but the portions was more then enough, breakfast was quick and good quality. A wonderful stay and will recommend to anyone

Great little find whilst out and about away from our holiday resort, warm welcome, dog friendly with reasonable priced beers, nothing else needed, will be returning over the next few days, highly recommend.

I had a cheese and onion omelette. Excellent battle value for money and exceedingly tasty. Took out a slice of gluten-free sponge cake. So moist, so delicious. Amazing.

We love it here and visit regularly. Staff are friendly and helpful. Food is delicious and well priced
