Eggs to Apples in Rother

What happened here?! The staff were awful on the last few visits- grim attitude. A year or so ago there were a friendly, helpful Lot here. Big mistake employing the new lot- especially the chunky lady on the deli

The new cafe looked lovely but we left without eating as when we asked about which cakes were gluten free we were told that some were low gluten but not gluten free!!! Not much use for someone who cannot have any gluten

Great restaurant space, looks brand new. Really nice staff and fantastic 5-star coffee. I'll be back when I'm next in the area.

My friend Jenny and I visited your new cafe this lunchtime. Absolutely loved it.The decor is amazing. Staff so friendly and welcoming. Vegan sausage roll,coleslaw and crisps were delicious. Will definitely be back.

They were doing some building work out the back but still very busy They had some lovely apples and other fruit which we got some of and enjoyed

Our 1st visit - looks like a great stop for fresh fruit, veg, baked goods and more. We bought 2 pies and so far tried the steak paste which we felt had a bit too much pastry and needed more seasoning. The other is gammon & apricot which we haven't had yet.

I had an absolutely delightful experience at Eggs to Apples, and a big part of that was thanks to Archie! He was incredibly knowledgeable about all the local produce, offering insights into where everything came from. It’s clear he has a genuine passion for supporting local suppliers and sharing that love with customers. The shop itself is so charming, full of character. It’s a hidden gem of a farm shop, and Archie's expertise made the visit all the more special and personal! Highly recommend! 🥚 to 🍏

LOVE LOVE LOVE this cafe & farm shop, food is delicious, coffee is made beautifully & the staff are so helpful. Very popular place & I see why, glad I popped in to eat. Highly recommend the potato salad (home made heaven), the quiches & brownies.

This farm shop was absolutely amazing from the food to the hospitality. When I went there was a child about 13 working at the till and his hands were so speedy at scanning, he was the managers son helping the business it was wonderful 😊. Also I had the vegan sausage roll with coleslaw and honestly I might get it over the pork one! Lastly the service was great and so was the atmosphere Eggs 2 Apples you have wowed me once again!

Disappointed with what used to be an excellent cafe. We ordered a pastie and 2 sausage rolls with a potato salad. The pastry on the savouries was flabby and greasy and what was far worse many of the potatoes in the salad were nearly RAW! We complained to a member of staff who agreed it was nearly raw. She told us it was "bought in" (as if that was a legitimate excuse) and offered us no proper apology ,,,or our money back.

Nice shop but terribly expensive. Most of the wine is over £20 or more. The food is hugely expensive too. It's really aimed at the very wealthy.

Eggs to apples was amazing, I just recently went and just saying but the service was incredible Deniz was so nice and helpful and I was there was restocking groceries and bought myself some cakes and they were immaculate. They were so creamy and delicious. It was the banana loaf cake and carrot cake. But still my experience was great deffo going again. Last bit the café the mocha was delicious deffo get that again!

Had to give one star to leave a review. Have picked up Too good to go surprise bag only to be given mouldy rotten vegetables. Absolutely disgusting and I would not recommend this store. Only Too to go in the bin! Additional update was not a full comprehensive box. It was going to be marinated chicken, some carrots and brocoli. The description on the business ad in Too Good To Go is as follows "Rescue a bag with a selection of Farm Shop items from fruit and vegetables to baked goods and items from the pantry" Also the original amount should have been £12.00 which is not what was promised.

Popped in Friday from way home from work haven't been for a while the produce was first class, the chicken was the best I've ever had the steak amazing I will be making this my new pit stop on way back home 😁

Underwhelming experience. This place is not what it was a few years ago. It’s almost as if the love has gone out of the operation. I guess it just shows that if you don’t work at things, eventually it will fall apart.

Recently stopped by when passing through the area. First impressions were great, a lovely well stocked farm shop with a good variety of products, all reasonably priced. I visited the deli to buy my products and get a coffee and breakfast. I was warmly greeted by a friendly team member called Archie, it was a nice change to the chain coffee shops to be served by someone who sparked up a friendly conversation and asked how my day was going. The coffee was delicious however the sausage ciabatta could have done with being served hotter, the sausages seemed reheated and the bread was cold. I will definitely come back for a coffee next time I’m passing through.

An amazing Farm shop with very helpful staff, a good selection of fresh meats, veggies, fruits, wines, beers, fruit juice ect ect. The steak we got was probably one of the best we have ever had. Its a real shame i dont live local to Eggs to Apples because im pretty sure i would be in every day 👍🏼

Cosy little cafe in a farm shop which has a wide range of food and eco cleaning stuff. Friendly staff, dogs welcome in out door heated cafe!

I really like it here. Since moving this way i have been here a few times. It is really easy to get to (just off the A21) Has good parking out the front. There is such a wide range of produce from; Fruit and veg, cheeses, meats, local produce that i have found difficult to find, local beers/ciders, breads, some quite bespoke bits and they have a little area where you can eat if you want. If you like a farm shop then i would recommend a visit. 👍

Plenty of quality on offer. Great for picking up a few special treats. A good selection of fresh produce. Very easy to spend alot on very little so not necessarily the place for the shallow purse. But why not drop in, take a look around and buy something you don't see at your supermarket!

Rather full up inside now the tables are outside.What will happen in the winter.Girl on the cheese counter didn't know much about cheese either.Produce looked OK but lacking finese.Shame.

Finest quality ingredients! Love the option to see if vegetables are grown without pesticides. The coffee is always excellent.

Came for brunch. Pro: nice shop with good produce. Cons: Service was a bit slow taking the orders. Fresh orange juice wasn’t fresh. No scotch eggs. All in all.. it’s ok.

We were travelling down to Hastings and decided to stop off for lunch on our way down. Eggs to apples is located just outside of Hurst Green and is a delightful farm shop on the A21.We had a combination of salads and also the most delicious New Yorker sandwich.Special thanks to 2 people who were absolutely outstanding in serving us. They were extremely knowledgeable of the menu and very courteous and polite. They genuinely could not have been more helpful and made our stop extremely lovely. We do not know their surnames but they go, we think, by the names of Cecily and Florence.Thoroughly recommend a stop at this delightful place with delightful people!

Plenty of outside table space and parking. Very good COVID procedures in place. Staff very helpful and efficient. Very good menu, and the Flat White was very good.

It is quite expensive but the food is top quality and the service is very good with friendly and knowledgeable staff. I often pop in for a coffee and a slice of lovely cake. And their olives are fabulous. They have a very nice garden cafe and serve good local food.

Nice shopping here but was disappointed by the lunch when I decided to try the café recently - quiche was fridge cold and pretty dry and the salad was measly, for the price it would be nice if they heated it up. I wished I had bought it and eaten at home or not bought it at all 😳 nice environment and good selection of veg and food to buy in the shop 💯 but I wouldn't recommend the cafe

Plenty of options to choose from. Great quality fresh fruit and veg, large selection of cheeses and sweet strawberries.

Reserved table for 6 given away as we arrived ( on time) so we had to wait for others to be shuffled together. Breakfast options very limited and then we were told things were not able to be heated. About 5 minutes after placing our order we were told some of the options selected were also unavailable( at 10.15 am), so we had to change our order a second time. The service was friendly but it felt like something was awry with overall organisation. Milk with coffee was strangely grey and thin and we weren’t particularly impressed with the cold pastries either. Such a shame as a previous visit in 2019 had involved a lovely bacon sandwich. Not sure what has happened and yes, Covid has made things tricky, but this was very poor. It took every ounce of patience not to just leave. It was our first family experience post lockdown and we were so disappointed by the whole visit we booked lunch in Battle. As one of the party caught their finger in a chair and another got dusty trousers from her bag being on the floor, my 84 year old mother in law decided to write a poem about this sorry saga! As a teacher I would have to write ‘Could do better’ on the report.

I wasn't going to write a review but when I read the last review I feel exactly the same. We also had cheese toasted ciabatta £6, it was tasteless, no garnish and it looked most unappetising when it arrived. I ordered a scotch egg, which was extremely dry, served with coleslaw and crisps! Why crisps! lazy catering. This used to be a treat to visit but not anymore.As a customer I left feeling ripped off and so disappointed with the quality.

Cafe organised for outdoor service during pandemic. Enjoyable in nice weather.

Ever-expanding farm shop/deli/cafe. Helpfully located on the A21. Would be great if they did TooGoodToGo with excess stock.

Met a friend for lunch and coffee, never been before and I have to say I wasn't impressed! Ordered a ham and cheese toasted ciabatta at £6, hardly any filling and nothing else on the plate with it. Service was friendly, and outside dining area is pleasant.

Yummy foods, nice helpful team. Though a little expensive, nice for something well, yummy!

If you like potatoes, this is your place ! Great farm shop. Stocked with a mix of quality local & imported veg/products with a fresh food counter. Sizeable range of ales as well. Just keep an eye on what is going in your basket as it will add up 😅

Fantastic local farm shop with lots of delicious fresh produce, the coffee is delicious and they have a fantastic range of cakes. During lockdown we shopped here and were very impressed with the hygiene level and all the safety measures in place. So pleased we have this on our doorstop!

A lovely selection of foods and drinks, staff are friendly and the food is fresh and tasty, they even gave a nice selection of fish, Very good value for money too.

I have always enjoyed our visits to the farm shop . Potter round the shop followed by coffee and something to eat . What I really am not understanding however is why they cannot serve their savoury pastries warm . They say it is a government ruling but really not aware of that when all other places are serving warm food . A cold pasty straight from the chiller cabinet is very unappetising . Also now it’s Autumn warm food is definitely wanted . They do soup though , guessing that’s hot . Also now with it being chilly the outside seating area needs some patio heaters .
