Always a good night here, whether the midweek quiz night or a Saturday night, friendly staff, good relaxed atmosphere and gluten free beer always stocked, my favourite Heaton Moor pub.

Great pub, menu looked amazing , would have booked for food but we were already booked elsewhere

There was very little available on the menu. For a pub that promotes its Sunday lunch it was shocking. Added there was lots missing from the other menu as well

Great dog friendly pub in the middle of Heaton Moor. We had selections of small plates, nachos, melted came Bert, chicken goujons, and cauliflower dippers. Delicious. You really need to book to avoid disappointment Thurs, Sat and Sunday.

Nice place for a pint, busy at weekends however never seems to have a queue at the bar, usually able to get a table too.

Food generally very good, service excellent, but it was very quiet. Haddock wasn't the best, but burger, chips and veg very good.

Popped in for a quick Guiness to warm myself up and ended up staying for some food. Great service from the barman and the food was amazing. Will 100% be back again soon!

Great little Irish pub in the centre of Manchester

We visited The Plough this evening for one drink and were charged £15.50 for one pint of Guinness and one alcohol free mocktail. The mocktail was priced at £7 on the menu. When I queried the £15.50 price, I was told the mocktail **without any alcohol** was £9.95. I pointed to the £7 price on the menu but was told that menu was no longer correct. The staff member then said it was expensive in there but they were not responsible for the prices- that is true but the prices charged must reflect the prices on the menu.

Best beers in town. Give the Hepcat a go. Always a friendly service and lively atmosphere, Would highly recommend.

We specifically came to eat Sunday lunch As we were shown out seats we were told all the roasts had now sold out ! I can understand this as we were eating late and it’s a special So we ordered from the menu to be told 5 of the starters had also run out The main courses options was also restricted too As a popular pub/ restaurant I can not see why your not sufficiently stocked up on the regular menu items We did get a round of drinks on the house but still very annoying

The food was excellent! The atmosphere was really nice, the staff were attentive and pleasant despite how packed it was. The price was really good considering the quality of the food.

We had a really good evening - 15 men over 55. A very good setting for us. I could not recommend the Plough though because the beer prices are very high - £6 - £7 per pint. The Magnet nearby is approx £2 per pint cheaper.

Been twice. Really good both times but on the second occasion there were a few mix ups with orders and forgotten drinks. Apart from that it was lovely. I would recommend the shared Sunday roast

When I first went into the plough a couple of years ago the food was very good and then it went downhill but I went back in last week and I ordered the fish and it was really very good so hopefully when I go back again it will be very good again .

Great drinks on tap, the food is really good. Delicious and the price is pretty good. Quiz night on a Thurs. Lots of nice seating and friendly staff.

Nice food. Quite dark surroundings. The hand drier in the ladies toilets wasn't working, but they said they would report it.

Service was very slow, from greeting, taking our food order, no upsell on desserts, no kids menu offered. Not advised in advance of items not available. No check back. Food quality not good. Yorkshire puddings were flat, solid and over cooked. Beef was over cooked and gristly, carrots and parsnips were undercooked meaning the skin that had been left on was tough and unpleasant. Kids veggie sausages have a really unpleasant skin in them - at first we thought it was cling film

Based on a very quick visit the main surprise was the cost of the cask ales! In fairness the pub had two cask pumps one with Timothy Taylor Landlord & the other a blonde from a Birmingham brewing Company. The bar has other cask & keg options but apparently in excess of £5 per pint for two cask beers I hate to think what the pub is charging for some of the other drinks.

Staff were polite, friendly, and always helpful. Fair pricing for the food and drinks. We only had drinks on our visit but would have food on another visit as it looked good.

I went last night with a friend of mine. It's the first time I have been and it definitely will not be the last. The service from Connor who was doing amazing considering it was his first day. I would also like to mention David in the kitchen the food I saw looked fantastic and I plan on going back very soon for a Sunday dinner.

Had a great time here recently when visiting with family, easy to get to location and good atmosphere. The beer garden is very pleasant and makes for a good little sun trap. Also very kind that dogs are allowed throughout and water is provided. Food is what you’d expect from pub grub and it’s a reasonable price. We didn’t have a burger this time but another couple did and they looked really good. Will happily return soon to try something else on the menu.

Good beers and decent atmosphere

Staff rude...got asked to move tables as was "reserved" yet when the next group sat there (who didn't reserve the table) and didn't get moved, we questioned it with the said bar staff. Her response was aggressive and argumentative, she decided the best thing was to have us removed from the premises. So if you want a nice drink make sure you don't question decisions by the staff. I've never been kicked out of anwhere in my life. I'm sorry I have a voice to question decisions that seem questionable!!

Great atmosphere here! Nice nibbles! A variety of beers! Cozy pub! Nice and friendly staff and good service. Roast dinner is a great choice in the menu for Sundays! The beef choice so tasty, desserts are great too.

Beer options were varied and cool. Not much else of a vibe thou.

I came here on a family occasion and found it to be quite nice. We sat at the back in a more private section if the pub and thankfully the huge television screen was switched off. I don't like televisions in pubs as I believe it just takes away any atmosphere and there were a few in this pub but at least on the day I was there, they weren't intrusive. It may or may not be one of these footie pubs..I'd check before you visit. I enjoyed the hour or so I was there anyway. Nice beers and good service.

Great Sunday Roasts. Good selection of draught beers

Booked a meal a week ago for 8pm on 24.1.23 and then at 4.45pm on the day we received an extremely rude call to say could we come in an hour earlier because their kitchens close earlier mon/tues/weds throughout January. We couldn't do this because of work. No mention of this when we booked, no apology, rudely spoken to, hung up abruptly. Customer service absolutely non-existent. Shame because we really liked going in there.

Really enjoyed our sharing Sunday lunch, was massive what a feast! It only loses a star for the Yorkshire puddings being a bit overdone but everything else was delicious.

Great local pub serving good food, loads of beer and deceptively large inside. Dog friendly for those with pooches. Plenty of screens up - at least at the moment - to catch the World Cup games too.

TOP PUB - the change over the years from when I first started coming in , to now is massive . It feels unlike and chain pub which is down to the management and team making it feel very local and almost independent. Perfect for a winter pint or a summer sup out back.

Food was truly outstanding! Exceeding all expectations, busy but was visited on a Saturday and no more so than expected. Highly recommend for food!

Went with a group of 5 friends because of the amazing reviews. And yes they are accurate. The place was FULL and we had no reservation but they fit us in and the food was immaculate and really fairly priced. It came fast and the waiter was kind and really efficient. When we wanted to order wine for the table our waiter even recommended the 50% off prosecco which we thoroughly enjoyed. We will be coming back soon!

We had a great visit yesterday for a family Sunday roast. The pub was really busy and still the service was amazing from start to finish. We had our drinks order delivered to our table within minutes of ordering. Roast dinner was brilliant. Great team that looked after us on a busy Sunday at peak time, the usual service we’ve come to expect and the reason we keep coming back! ❤️

Yesterday Sunday 11-9-22 I ordered a Sunday roast chicken with Yorks pudding and 3 veg. Excellent food the roast parsnips were to die for. One of the best Sunday roasts I have ever had. Well worth a visit.

Went for few drinks and food, had the big cow burger and wow best burger I've had ever was so tasty and moist presented so well, great selection of food & drinks, there was a quiz night on and Jodie was a great compare made the evening fun highly recommend the quiz nights which are on every Thursday, the atmosphere and the look of the pud is very comfortable too, staff are very friendly & helpfull & a shout out to Beth who is such a bubbly girl to Jodie & rest off the team big thank you for great night

We ate in the plough last night. The burgers were outstanding juicy and tasty one of the best we have had. The schnitzel was so juicy and tasty and the salad was so fresh and well dressed. 10/10 last night we often eat here and it's always good but last night was even better !! Thanks to the chef who were working Nathan and Geoge

Loved it twice previously but won't go again

Nice enough pub on the main drag through Heaton Moor. Service wasn't great, but possibly it was because it was late on a bank holiday Monday. I'd like to think they could have managed a cup of tea for a designated driver though....
