The best restaurants in Burgess Hill Meeds Mid Sussex South East

My girlfriend and I visited this restuarant on their Banquet 5 course meal night (Tuesdays). It's advertised at £17.95 per person, so sounds quite reasonable. The "5 courses" consist of a starter, main, side dish, rice or naan (hardly a "course" and a coffee (again not what I would call a "course"). The food was "ok" - pretty average really. The menu on this night that you are given seems to be a very cut down version of their main menu. Choices for sides for example seemed to be extremely limited. The side of bhaji's that I had was fine, the main course of madras was ok but the coffee at the end was awful. However - here's the catch - the cost of drinks. My girlfriend had two very, very watery lime and soda waters and this cost a staggering £10! Ridiculous. I think the Diet Coke I had was nearly £5 too. How on earth they can charge these absolutely extortionate prices for drinks is beyond me. I know, from reading local Facebook groups posts that I am not alone with the drink situation and others have said they will not go here again. I won't be returning either. My message to this restuarant : Don't rip off your customers, your repeat business will dry up as word gets about.

Stopped for a sandwich and drink whilst on a shopping trip. Polite friendly staff clean and tidy. Very popular as very busy small cafe

Even though it was a busy Friday night, the team kindly managed to squeeze me in. The man who served me was especially welcoming and friendly, which made the experience all the more enjoyable. I went with his recommendation—an aubergine-dish—and I was so pleased I did. I’m already looking forward to coming back!

Chicken korma very dry and overcooked the special had more onion than protein and was tastelessness

Great breakfast - available to non residents. Good choice with more than the usual options. Quality food and fast, friendly service from a lovely team of servers. Highly recommended.

Just not very nice food. Food without character. Overcooked chicken & awful dry lamb that felt like it was cooked previously and then added to a tasteless sauce. Uninspiring and won’t use again, especially as portions are small and not good value.

The food is outstanding—delicious flavors, generous portions, and excellent value for money. I genuinely recommend it.

Their pork is excellent, been on the hunt for that exact dish from a takeaway for ages.

Had my first takeaway from here recently with a group of friends. Took a while to arrive- just over an hour - but was worth waiting for. Kept updated on delivery time which was good. Delicious food - everyone was really happy with their food orders. Will definitely use again...

This pub is just amazing. A lovely cosy setting inside & a great large garden area outside with shade if you want it. Lovely wines & a superb G&T served with spiralled cucumber, so refreshing. The owners & staff are so friendly & can’t do enough to make your visit special. We visited on a Wednesday & there was a pizza van there, which I believe is there on the same day every week, the pizzas were delicious. It’s also a good place for a function, the pub laid on a tremendous spread. A MUST for a visit !!!!

Turned up with 3 adults and 4 kids and they sorted us out with hot chocolate suitable for the kids, sweet snacks and hot delicious coffee for the adults. Nice and clean and very friendly service. Excellent.

The food here I have generally always thought of as a better quality than any other local Thai restaurants which I accepted the higher prices for. Having spent two years living in Thailand eating only Thai cuisine, and being able to speak some of the language also, I was unfortunately disappointed in the lack of 'dining out' experience we had here. Not even a single candle or a flower at the tables, they were literally bare. No authentic decor or staff uniform etc. There was a portable gas fire in the middle of the restaurant for heating which didn't help the overall ambience; it just felt much more geared up to being a takeaway venue with a few tables for good measure than a lovely restaurant experience. The same food in a different environment would have tasted much better I'm sure!

This fish bar has been recently renovated and has a fresh new look. As a person who is fussy about their food - I can honestly say I have always been happy with my food here. The chips are not too dry or soggy, same with the fish and the oil is fresh, hence a good balanced flavour. I know for sure being in any kind of restaurant business, its a hard act to follow - to maintain the quality of product and keep your customers happy. I wish them all the best and hope they can keep up the good work

Wrong order again.... useless staff. How hard can it be..... won't be going back ever again. They don't even check when handing over the order
