Spiral Tex Mex in Mid Sussex

I went last night with my wife for probably the 15 th time. We have not had a meal less than excellent in all our visits. The food is cooked extremely well, it’s very fresh and very reasonably priced considering the quality. There’s a good choice too. Ash and his team have created a lovely atmosphere over the years and it will always be our go to restaurant in the town as it is with many of our friends. Well done spiral.

Booked our table for Thursday evening family meal and the restaurant was packed. Service wasn't quick which was understandable but the quality and quantity of food, was 'spot on'. Don't leave it to chance - recommend, you book your table.

Enjoyed a fantastic dinner here- enjoyed pulled pork tacos for starters & mixed fajitas which were both excellent with a couple of San Miguels . Good menu and friendly service.

DELICIOUS food always freshly cooked & piping hot. This is a gem of a restaurant in Burgess Hill, ambience & atmosphere here is great, it’s so relaxing and friendly. Our waitress LYDIA was amazing, the restaurant was busy and you could see how professional @ attentive she was to all the customers, she’s a credit to you Spiral. 100%recommend you go here, you won’t be disappointed 😊

As ever, excellent. The prawn starter was large & delicious followed by hand made burgers cooked to perfection. Chimichanga was huge & lovely. Best onion rings ever. Staff are friendly & professional. Only downside was we were so full we couldn’t try the desserts … even my 17yr old. Still great spiral!

I am ashamed to say that having lived in Burgess Hill for 20 years I had never been to Spiral. Given that it always seems busy...(an advert in itself!) We thought we'd give it a go and wasn't disappointed. The staff were friendly, relaxed atmosphere and very delicious food.....all reasonably priced. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Having never been before and wanting to take my husband out on his birthday to somewhere new, i decided to come to Spiral after reading the glowing reviews on here !! This is now why I’m adding my review on here , so that it reiterates to anyone considering a meal out , that spiral won’t disappoint, the reviews are correct , Spiral is amazing. The food was absolutely delicious, I couldn’t fault it …. From starters to puddings …. The cocktails were smooth as anything and the service was spot on. Wow a right little gem. I am usually the first to be critique about a restaurant and nothing - even if I tried , came to mind…. The food was outstanding and the portions were generous, the choices on the menu were so good. Also restaurants usually at the end of the meal - automatically stick gratuity on to the bill or at least the option on the card machine to ‘yes or no ‘leave a tip …. Not this place , no we had to ask how we leave a tip ,which I loved (well done Spiral) as we felt Spiral deserved it…. That’s how tipping should be … not automatically assumed , it should be offered if deserved, by the customer. Thanks Spiral , the way our evening was, was a big thanks to you and your hard working team and this will make us return and it will make us recommend you to our friends and family.

We came here last night for a birthday celebration. It's my 3rd visit and I have had a good experience every single time. The food is always delicious, reasonably priced and great service!

The staff have excellent knowledge of the food they serve and have excellent manners with a happy and cheerful atmosphere ,I had steak which I must say was superb.

Been to spiral in burgess hill several times over the past few years. Every time we’ve had such good food, which is very well priced. Every time we have taken friends there for the first time they’ve wanted to go back. Not an over complicated menu, lots of choice, and so well presented. Very nice relaxed friendly atmosphere. Never disappoints.

This was my 2nd visit and my wife’s 4th.The venue is small but spacious and the staff are great.You can see the kitchen from your table and everything looks clean and as it should be.Starters of: breaded prawns (specials board) and grilled prawns - Excellent.Mains of: 10oz Ribeye (specials board) and Chicken Enchilada - Excellent.I must say, the peppercorn sauce on the steak and the chips are some of the best I’ve ever had.Wine: Malbec - Excellent.Service - Excellent.Will definitely be going back for more in the future.

Visited Spiral on a Tuesday evening with a friend, we booked in advance and were greeted with a warm friendly smile.Great menu & wine selection and we didn't feel rushed or ignored, the waiter was very attentive and explained the dishes well. The food was amazing, fresh and full of flavors, for starters I had Baked musselsCooked with garlic butter, breadcrumb, chives. Mains was sizzling fajitas served on a hot skillet with peppers & onions with herbs & spices. Served with guacamole, salsa, sour cream, cheese & warm flour tortillas :P for dessert I had the Churros chocolate which was Toasted Mexican doughnuts in sugar and cinnamon served with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce. Overall a really nice experience, friendly staff relaxed atmosphere and amazing food, well worth a visit!

I had booked this restaurant in advance for my Husband's 40th birthday, and so glad I did. Ashley was very attentive from the moment I booked to the actual event.The food was very flavoursome and portions were perfect, the whole evening was very relaxed and the team are great.Everyone that went have raved about their meals and we would all highly recommend a visit.Keep up the great work guys

Just had a fantastic takeaway meal and the portions were quite large. Ordered the chicken burrito, chicken wings, retried beans and chips without knowing how much food you get. The burrito come with homemade guacamole and salsa and tasted amazing, couldn’t fault it at all. The chips are chunky and crisp just how I like them and the refried beans was smothered in cheese and taste divine.I’ve decided I’m going to dine in next time and see if the taste is just as good if not better! One thing I must mention is the excellent service I received, a warm welcome awaited me even at 9.30pm and was given nachos with the delicious homemade guacamole to go with my larger. Thank you so much and look forward to returning very soon!

We have eaten here a few times now and I honestly can’t fault it. Every time we’ve been the service has been friendly and efficient and the food is really well cooked and seasoned. Portions are plenty and the meat is always very good quality. I’d recommend booking in advance as it’s always quite busy.

We have been here several times now. This is a small family run business that never fails to deliver. We have found it to be very intimate and staff are never too pushy. The food is always great(we love the fajitas!)and cocktails are well worth trying. Far nicer than any large establishment as we are made to feel valued by the very polite staff. Prices are reasonable too. Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

For a small restaurant, appearances can be deceiving. Situated near many takeaways and on a main road, it blends in and could be missed as another kebab shop or burger place however, you receive a very warm and friendly welcome from the staff and the menu has a good range of delicious Mexican food. Starters were lovely with the most delicious Jerk Chicken wings. Hot but fab. The Ribs, burgers and traditional dishes were full of flavour and plentiful. We ordered too many starters and struggled to finish our mains. Service was a tad slow but I think that’s because we were really hungry and needed to eat. Dishes were on the high side of pricing but it was a welcome treat to visit an independent restaurant and not a chain and the quality and quantity justified it. Drinks menu was nice and varied too and the staff couldn’t do enough for us.

Went in expecting to get a pre-holiday glow but how wrong I was. This is a gem of a restaurant and the food is delicious and authentic. Ps. Anyone know a good tanning salon locally?

We came in ere just after they opened on a Saturday before attending a a party. We were pleasantly surprised at how well presented and tasty the food was. It was so nice to have something different from all the usual Italian places. Also the service was excellent and the prices very reasonable. Would definitely return here if in the area again.

Very tasty Jamaican Jerk Chicken in sauce with Jasmine Rice. Friendly staff, not easy to get this type of food elsewhere locally.

2 courses for £13.95 on a Tuesday. Food was amazing especially the tiger prawns on the Summer Specials menu. Best prawns I've eaten. We are every crumb of everything we ordered. Can't recommend enough.

I didnt like the BBQ ribs and wings as there was hardly any meat on them and the sauce was really strong.

The platter was enjoyable. The nachos were extremely dry, the cheese was hard and there wasn’t much of it! The dips to go with it were lovely. The churros were exceptionally good. So it was a mixed bag. Room for improvement. Not likely to order takeaway from you again, but would visit your restaurant, as imagine the quality would be better that way.

Very large portions, average food, very attentive service, reasonably priced. Altogether good value for money. I would not go specifically to Burgess Hill to eat here, but if you are in town, it is a reasonable night out in a nice and friendly environment.

We decided at the last minute to go out for something to eat and came across Spiral Tex Mex.

Tacos were a bit soggy but they’re hot, in a box so to be expected really. the food itself was very tasty and the portion sizes were also very good. I will definitely order from here again.

Food great but expected delivery time was 1 hour 10 mins after ordering which was disappointing but it actually arrived 40 mins after order was placed!

Last order was missing onion rings and corn was not cooked. Generally food is very good.

Had a lovely family meal here recently and would highly recommend. Service is first class and relaxed with the staff keen to assist when necessary. Food was more than tasty and they have a very wide choice on the menu. I had ribs which were delicious. Chips were lovely, must be the best I've tasted in a long time. Went last year with a group of friends. I was concerned as I am not a fan of spicy food and so picked a salad which I assumed would be boring but safe. It was delicious! served in a taco bowl with chicken on top of salad, flavourful but not too spicy for a wimp. Everyone else also enjoyed their meals. I will definitely return. I can recommend it.

We went for a Thursday date night as neither me or my partner had been here before, we ordered and got our food promptly and it was all bought out together and piping hot.

Enjoyed an excellent meal on a hot summer evening with a large group of old friends from Mid Sussex. Excellent service and very tasty food enjoyed by all. The waitress who looked after our table was friendly and helpful in spite of it being one of the warmest evenings she continued her work in a very pleasant manner. The front windows open up to enjoy the night air and gave a relaxed almost Mediterranean feel to Burgess Hill!

As it's the only one in town, it has to be the best. As it happens it's not bad. Good, friendly service. Heady portions. Good wine. Overall, a pretty good experience. Will rerun.

We were going to eat here. There are only about 12 tables in the whole restaurant. We went in early to request a table in the window. When we came back an hour later we felt as though we were sat in the kitchen, no notice what so ever had been paid to our request. We had waiters and waitresses buzzing back and forth behind us and all we could hear were the kitchen fans. We didn't stay. Customer service is as important as the food. Get one wrong and the other, Just doesn't matter.

Got a delivery- Went for beef chilli tacos for starters and the combo fajitas (beef,chicken,prawns). Really good, recommended.

Menu appears to have expanded since last visiting a year or so ago with burgers and jerk chicken now an option. In my opinion this has confused the identity and food was very average. Calamari was tough followed by Jerk chicken that was peppery not flavoursome and to finish the dessert price of over £4 was two single churrories?

We were a group of 6 and the waiter looked like 16 but he was fantastic. Attentive and really good service although looked young. Food arrived quickly and realy tasty. Good tex mex in sleepy town of Burgess Hill.

Visited with wife had the Nacho Spiral for two, followed by the Combination(chicken,beef and peeled king prawns) Fajitas for two with sides of Mexican refried beans and a salad.Did not have room for a sweet as portions very filling. Attentive, friendly and welcoming staff, clean and simple decor, will definitely be returning.
