Miller & Carter Haywards Heath in Mid Sussex

A group of friends stopped off for Sunday lunch, service was exceptional and our food was top notch. I can recommend the rib eye which was excellent, all other dishes that came out all looked very good.

Superb service from Brad 5 star all the way will be coming back ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Brad served us on Sunday evening, he was really welcoming and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble, food was great.

Very slow service over 1/2 in between course's which was a bit much when you have a 3 and a 8 year old children and the bill over £659 not impressed

Cocktails are great 😊 sadly the 2 for 1 have been stopped. Why don’t you carry it on all year around ? I have eaten here many times either for lunch, dinner & something light always had good quality meals.

Fabulous as always. I come here every week now. The staff : Sian, Billy, Georgia, Joe and Brad are absolutely delightful. It's so refreshing to come to a restaurant where the staff remember your name and treat you so well. Well done Miller. You recruit staff very well. See you all next week!

We went to Miller and Carter for our Anniversary and it was superb! The level of service was outstanding and our waiter, Billy, was so attentive. Not only was he professional he was also made conversation and a laugh with us. We could tell all the staff were very efficient and friendly, which really made our night!

THE place to have the best steak in a really nice setting with attentive, knowledgeable and friendly staff. Starters and puddings are also lovely... if you have room for them!

The welcome was warm and friendly but I will focus on the wonderful lady who served us. From start to finish Angie was attentive and informative, ensuring we had no allergies etc. Her excellent attitude, including a welcomed bit of humour, and tolerance of our party (slow selecting food and children etc) was outstanding. Angie is a genuine asset to your Haywards Heath operation.

Great service, our server Sam was new and a great laugh. He made great suggestions and is a great asset to the team. As for the food, the steak was delicious and the establishment decor is lovely. **** Just been again today the waiter we had was so friendly and professionally, where do they find these staff. Love it. Can't wait to come again. Update, 22/09/24 Well, we came out again. Great food still and the server gent that served my dad, dauter and myself was great. We had a good laugh and the food. Well, donjust take my word for it. Go and try it and then tell me I was right. The steak I had was juicy for day, it was so good it felt naughty. My daughter enjoyed her quorn bite and playing around quietly. All was very well. Thank you, keep up the great work.

As good as a Miller and carter restaurant gets.

Georgia was brilliant and looked after us really well ensuring we were all well looked after! The personal touch of remembering each of our individual orders was really appreciated. Such good food, its the dining service you're after when you think of Miller and Carter.

Had a sirloin was v good, beef dripping was excellent. Server Georgia is very helpful.

Food was basic. Steak was chewy, overcooked and tasteless. Chips were absolutely terrible, clearly from the freezer! Over cooked and cold. It was a take away but, I live 5 minuet drive, so they shouldn't arrive cold. Mac and cheese tasted like it came out of a heinze tin - small portion and just not anything to get excited about. On par with Harvester to be far. Basic, overpriced.

Had an impromptu visit today with my mother , ( she’s quite the regular here ) thought I’d join to see what the fuss is all about . Lovely atmosphere, cosy decor , clean and tidy . We had the calamari ( delicious) , pork tomahawk ( succulent ) fish & chips ( perfect portion and delicious) crème brûlée - (beautiful and tasty ) And the mini banoffee - ( full of flavour ) Service was professional, wait time was minimal . I shall return for sure as I now need to sample the steaks ! Thank you all at M&C

We really enjoyed our food here. The steak was lovely and the rest of the meal was great. Service wasn't 100% attentive and didn't check in for more drinks. But they did check at how the food was. I would definitely go back again.

This is our parties second visit. Georgia our, waitress on both visits has gone above and beyond making us feel welcome. The level of service was excellent. The food was also exceptional.

As soon as you enter the building you are greeted with smiles and friendly faces, all members of staff went above and beyond to make us all feel so welcome. One member of staff in particular (Billy) went out his way to make us martinis! Which is not on the menu so we were very grateful for that. Our steaks were cooked perfectly and came swiftly after we ordered. I would recommend miller and carter (Haywards Heath) for any family wanting great food and a great atmosphere.

This is our second time of visiting Miller and Carter and cannot recommend it enough ! Food is to die for and the staff are so friendly.We have had Georgia looking after us both times and she is a breath of fresh air , nothing was to much trouble and she always had a smile for us and was part of the reason that made us return.You are not rushed either which is a plus ! The manger was also very friendly and welcoming.Food is lovely well presented and tastes great! Will definitely be returning again.Thankyou for a great dining experience

If you’re looking for a top tier evening with juicy steak and incredible customer service, look no further. All jokes aside, Billy and Georgia made the evening all that much better with a bubbly personality. I would recommend the Butchers block, all delicious with the beef dripping sauce. Overpriced for the quality and verging on TGI Friday in terms of presentation and background music. Efficient but perfunctory service.

We both had Angus steak , that was excellent. Our waitress was Angie and she helped make the evening enjoyable by her friendly and professional service , lt was our 55th Anniversary and it made a lovely end to the day .

We’ve eaten here a few times and the service is always great. It’s a nice atmosphere and decent looking restaurant. Food wise it’s a bit hit and miss. The steaks are brilliant (not surprising as it’s a steal restaurant) and I had sea bass for main which was tasty. But the triple-cooked chips still had the taste of frozen chips about them and weren’t nice. Halloumi fries and spicy cauliflower for starters were nice and I’d order again. For dessert we had a creme brûlée which was again very tasty, but the sugar on top wasn’t crunchy which was disappointing. I ordered the chocolate orange bombe which comes as an orange coloured chocolate ball you’re supposed to smash to reveal chocolate mousse, but the chocolate was a bit thick to do that so it didn’t really work. Also the mousse was really grainy and not chocolatey sadly so I don’t recommend it as a dessert. We will eat here again, it’s easy to park and a good location for us but would make some different menu choices next time.

Visited for a birthday meal, steak was all bone & barely any meat & burger was McDonalds standard, service was slow (had to get up twice to ask the bar for drinks) staff were patronising & ‘Maître d'hôtel’ thinks he’s working in a 5 star restaurant in Paris with all the peacocking around he was doing whilst not doing anything helpful at all.

We came to have dinner after a couple of impressive lunches. Normally we would go to a different branch that’s a bit further out as we noticed a difference in quality but since our last two visits were so good we came for dinner. Unfortunately my steak was very chewy and gristly which is not something I’ve ever really had an issue with. I had to chew and chew until my jaw hurt and then had to spit it out as I couldn’t get it small enough to swallow. Very disappointed as I paid extra for a bigger steak. Seems I paid extra to get gristle. Also the chips were all the little ends of chip and were hard and very hard to chew, almost stale. Very disappointed.

Bradford was our waiter and he was great. Very friendly and the service was fantastic. We went with the Butchers block and it was INCREDIBLE! Steak cooked to perfection and the bone marrow.... wow! Will be back!

Excellent food, value and service (Brad). The app was a bit glitchy and we struggled to get free drinks vouchers to work. However, the kindly manager (Joe) sorted everything.

If you’re a steak person I’d recommend this place. Not the cheapest but definitely on top of my list for a good steak meal.

Can't fault the food. But wouldn't go often due to the cost. Prawn and avocado starter and 30 day ages sirloin 12oz steak and a glass of wine each for 2 people was £127.. But food was very good.

It was quiet, service was excellent and the food cooked to perfection.

1) Found it strange that the M&C website would not allow me to make a booking for 1 person, and the only way I could book on the internet was to book a table for 2! 2) Slightly taken aback by booking times being offered on the website which were not available! The manager 'phoned me about 7 hours before my booking to advise me that the kitchen would be closing at the time of my booking. Fortunately I was able to rearrange my commitments that afternoon to arrive earlier than my original plan. 3) Someone might want to look at the website in respect of the above points. 4) Service was excellent. Courteous, helpful, friendly, cheerful and attentive. The waitress was Tabby, and I think that she should be complimented on creating an excellent impression.

Our host Billy was really friendly and very professional. Venue was very clean. No sticky tables or menus here. My steak was cooked to perfection. I couldn't fit in a dessert but was given a lovely ice cream plate as they knew it was my birthday. Thank you Billy and Miller and Carter for a great time and delicious birthday meal.

In the last few years I have visited this Steak House about 4 times.Prices are on the high side but the steaks are good and properly cooked. Service is generally good and attentive. Garnish with the steak was a tomato and onion rosti------terrible, not requested, not required----- I did say at the time of ordering no onion, This was ignored.(the waiter still got a 10% tip though) Dining out with friends is surely one of life's great pleasures , being able to relax, eat and drink (in moderation) chat etc. The main issue here at the HH branch is the Manageress . I have had feedback from other (male) friends who all have had the same experience------she does not like MEN especially more than 2 at a table! She makes snide remarks about " noise and I have had to move people away from your table" Completely untrue---we were in a side room with 5 other tables that were empty! Basically men are not welcome here.I would add that we were all mature guys , dressed at above the smart casual level required. The consensus was that the food maybe good but the welcome and conduct is not-------the management should send in 4 guys as "secret shoppers" and see what reaction you get. You want the money but you have to provide the right type of ambiance and service!

Angie treated us like family and made us feel at ease. She knows the menu inside out. I'd return simply because of her amazing service. Highly recommend the Cote De Boeuf on the sharing menu.

After a nightmare visit to the hospital our heads spinning! We went for dinner at Miller & Carter Haywards Heath, the staff were amazing, Angie was the lady who welcomed us in, which was a truly warm welcome. Tabby & Billy took the time to make us also feel very welcome,.. Nobody really knows what people are going through when you meet them, but they all made us forget the nightmare we had come in with for a short while. The food was lovely, Scallops and wings to start with and steak for mains. Thanks so much to all of you. Viv
