May 24, 2025 frustrating shopping experience. I tried to purchase a vape and ask the employee which one will fit the device i bought and showed me an item that doesn’t fit and I didn’t notice it til i got home. Gosh… why would they assign an employee who doesn’t know anything about vape? Like seriously? And they won’t take any refund. So what am i going to do with that pod?

Went on Friday night around 8:00 pm. More than 12 tills fon only 2 employees, so not only en have to scan my shop, I have to wait for quite sometime as most of the customers for our shop to be checked by only 2 workers. Surely Sainsburys can have more people at the tills

I visit this store most Mondays when we look after our granddaughter. Yesterday at around midday i checked out in the smart -scanning section as i do with a reasonably large shop and encountered a quick check as they call it. This i experience almost every other time i go which i am completely frustrated with given i spend well over 5k a year with Sainsburys overall. Anyway that is not the reason for my review, i was served with a lovely helpful young lady with a speech impediment, she was exceptional her customer service was excellent, please can you make sure the store manager goes and pats her on the back or even better ensures she is nominated for employee of the year. The pressure the company now place on these poor check out operators is totally unreasonable, she made what was a real pain enjoyable amongst everybody screaming for her attention. What show business that lady has.Well done her

Best supermarket in Haywards Heath 😊

Very unpleasant, quite dated and not particularly clean supermarket but the worst issue is that it seems to have a real issue with checking dates on products. I only ever shop here if having to go to Argos, but have often got home to find that some dairy, meat or other perishable has a best before date that’s the same as the date purchased which isn’t really acceptable and then customer service will basically very grudgingly refund you explaining that it’s the customer’s responsibility to check dates (well yes, but only partially)

everything is fine, but there is something that hinders - why is it impossible to buy cereals and pasta in one department, why do you have to look for these products in all departments. Large packages and small ones should all be together, as well as various varieties and manufacturers. . When choosing, I want to compare by quality, by country of manufacture. Also, discounts and promotions are all about one department. This also applies to other groups of goods. I don't understand this kind of marketing. Six months have passed, nothing has changed, ... there are other supermarkets left, those where they hear the buyer..

April 13th frustrating shopping experience, I came over from Brighton to buy hot wheels. there were no more than ten toys on the shelves but a lot of expensive ones.I wanted the cheaper ones and a friendly sales clerk looked them up for me and said they were in stock, but perhaps I got the feeling that the manager didn't want to take them out as there were a lot of expensive toys sitting there stalled, so you can imagine that your managers work ethic is giving just as much of a struggle as the stalling of these expensive items.

Good place for shoppings, take care with parking here, just 2 hours left yours car inside, after that will be charged with 70 pounds. Anyway they sometimes make mistakes and send wrong charges, make appeal and your charges will be canceled.Happy soppings guys 😁

3 stars for availability.Why do they have to keep relocating their stock so often. Everytime I go there it feels like I have dementia and it takes so much longer to shop.

Usually pretty busy, wide selection of items. Argos and a Starbucks available as well.

I do most of my shopping here, so much so that a lot of the staff know me by name. Don't think that'll change anytime soon.

Local supermarket, good parking

We use this Sainsbury's all the time, however the interaction with the a member of staff today was just unacceptable. The guy was wearing a grey suit, so I assume management of some sort which makes it even worse. Waited for a good 5 minutes for someone to approve our purchase at the scan as you shop checkout (if you're going to get rid of 90% of the tills at least have enough staff to make the self service efficient) and asked if as he walked past if it could be approved. Something was mumbled under his breath, and fair enough he climbed through the barrier to help, however a couple of quick stabs and the screen and he was gone, no apology for the wait, nothing. He was in such a rush that he left the checkout on the staff approval screen, and as he walked past I mentioned this and the response I got was a snappy 'you literally just push this button' now, how am I meant to know that's the button I needed to push? I don't work there let alone know how the inner menus of the self serve tills work. When my response was exactly that, I got told not to be rude and that he would have me kicked out of the store. Shopping with a 4 year old and a 1 month old baby is stressful enough, let alone having to deal with 'customer service' like that.

Always well stocked, clean and not too busy

Not enough checkouts open. Self service checkouts area very badly designed. Update. Almost all checkouts are now self service. You can't get out without scanning your receipt. Always feels chaotic.

Sainsbury's like all supermarkets has really deteriorated by introducing almost exclusively self service check outs. It's just not ideal for weekly shopping. You are corralled into specific queues with little room to maneuver, inevitably the scanner does not recognise the item meaning you hold up the queue waiting for a frazzled staff member to fix it for the 400th time and then if you'd like to leave you have to fish out your receipt and scan it whilst maneuvering your trolley as other shoppers tut and jostle behind you. A recipe for a headache.

Can someone please ask their employee to take a shower. He is helpful. Very kind. But he needs a good shower. Have him deodorant. I will pay for it or simply put on my tab. But it’s impossible to walk near food when sweat stinky smell spreading on food. It’s urgent. Something must be done.

As a Supermarket, it does supermarket stuff

Good location and easy access by train, bus or cab. Big parking area. Not a bad place for shoppings as most of the things available under one roof from Argos, Sainsburys Bank as well as big floor for shopping. Good discounted prices and big team of staff on floor for customer help.

I visited this Sainsbury’s in the run up to Christmas and thought it was fantastic, very clean and well stocked. I met a member of staff called Sam who was so helpful and gave me really good wine recommendations which I was very grateful for. Will visit again!

Till area useless. Only one manned self service ones run by two members of staff who no way could have kept up with help needs of customers. Took ages.

I did the self check out with 8 items. The shop was very busy & scanning our receipts was difficult. All the self scanning was occupied. 4 red lights were on & only one member of staff to respond. She was charming but rushed off her feet.

Chaotic and bizarrely organised and items move to isle with no apparent logic. So much time wasted. Things are getting more confusing. Isle contents don't always match the overhead signs.

Great place to shop. Clean and items are easily available and well sign posted to do your shop with the minimum of fuss.👍 We were visiting family inHaywards Heath so stopped to get greatitems for for a family lunch

The store was clean well stocked and shop floor colleagues were friendly and approaable. But all of this is to be expected in a store of this size, stature and expected takings, what's not acceptable is the twenty-five minute wait to be served at the checkouts and the tokenism of calling two members of staff to the tills by name to address the lengthening queues. So only as we we're leaving were more staff being apparently called, even though my partner had raised the issue of the queue length when first we arrived at the tills. I stated to the check out support/supervisor and I believe the check out Manager of the day that I would be leaving this review forgoing the opportunity to raise these issues with them as I believe it would have little or no real effect.

Huge supermarket and has a massive range of food drink and pretty much most things you need. And there's Argos for all other things.

Hate being forced to use self service due to long queues, then having to scan my receipt to open a gate. Expensive, poor choice for size of shop.

So I got a new phone & number, Nectar refuse to update my details for their App or allow me to create a new account. So basically I can no longer shop at Sainsbury cost effectively; I go to Tesco now. Who ever came up with discounting based on 3rd party apps must be costing Sainsbury £M’s.

expensive shop quite often low on seasonal produce and the management are a joke. lots of self important bodies wandering about pointing fingers. they can’t organise themselves and often open late which is really annoying, I wonder if it’s their way of massaging their egos 😁

Good local Sainsbury's. Holds majority of household items and consumables a person requires. Good parking. Has a decent homeware and clothes. section. Idea for most shopping items. Starbucks, Timpson and Sainsbury foreign currency exchange on site. Also added a Argos now.

Prices rising, quality falling...and what is with their selfscan tech? Often fails when it comes to check out and when it works, they don't trust anyone and want rescans. More like Painsbury's.

Shop floor staff are always very helpful and friendly, even though they are busy. However, they seem to be very undervalued by their peers!!! Lots could be learned from the shopfloor staff, and it's a real shame to hear that they don't feel valued and not listened too. Listen to your staff more Managers.

I purchased a large number of items for my newborn twins, and realised that some of them were no longer needed. I had the online receipt as proof of purchase, but the sale was over 28 says ago. I was told at Customer Services to go to Argos desk, who then said they can't help and to go back. When I went back I was told they can't help either as it was bought online. I only wanted an exchange and was happy to take the value from the till rather than from the receipt if that would help. Bottom line, I still have the items as I was told nothing they can do. This is a sure fire way to lose business. I will never buy clothes for my twins from Sainsbury's again, and I will never use Sainsbury's online. They could have helped in store but just didn't want to...awful branch...avoid!

Pretty good, not my go to shop as more expensive than others around. It's always a pleasure to walk around the clothing section and home ware department. It can be in the way to queue for Argos at the busy times in the year (such as Christmas that we just had) good gluten free section. It's kind of odd that you have to scan your receipt at the check out. Update: Great Gluten Free section. They've just added a freezer section for the frozen gluten free so it's altogether and it has ana amazing amount of choices

Sandwich fridges often bare but Starbucks makes up for it.

Close to station ,Pharmacy,always easy to park (except Christmas! when you have parking attendants with funny poles). Staff friendly and courteous at the tills.Theres a few Christians I know who work there so that's a winner for me.Thanx Sainsbury's

Heath Sainsbury's in Haywards Heath is a great place to shop! The store is always clean and well-stocked. The staff are friendly and helpful, and there's a wide variety of products to choose from. Highly recommend!

Great location. Usual Sainsbury's goods are available. Ample parking.

Its ok for sainsburys but they like to move things around all the time so even if you know the store well you can never find anything. I once had an experience of a security guard being really rude to me - i have no idea why but the attitude and the way i was spoken too was disgusting. Staff clearly need customer service training in this store and reminding on how to be kind to customers who may have a disability. The smart shop works really well here and is simple to use, staff are also quick to resolve problems too.

I called the Haywards Heath branch at Banniser Way to report a dumped trolley but had no success in getting through. There was nothing in the initial list of options so I just selected the first and got a robotic request for a verbal description of my problem. This was understood but I was then presented with another list of options, none of which were applicable so I selected the last which covered 'anything else' but nobody answered so I hung up and called the head office. The lady there tried to call Haywards Heath but nobody answered her either. She had to send an email to report the problem. There is also a problem sending this report. Nowhere does it say that you have to select a star rating before you can send it. It might be obvious to the modern generation but...

Good size and selection, including some clothes, etc. but the first supermarket I’ve ever been in with a weird system that makes you scan your receipt to be able to exit the self scan area through the closed barriers.

I do my weekly grocery shop here. It's pretty basic it's has TU clothing and an argos. It's got a sushi gourmet inside it as well and a star bucks. So it's quite popular for that.

Recently had reason to return some ice creams as the packaging inside the cardboard box was faulty. The customer service desk was very helpful and good natured which I appreciated very much. They have so many people to deal with, with different issues. Thanks

Before collecting my shopping, I went with my soft plastic to recycle in the bag I was going to use for the said shopping. So I needed to empty the recycling into o one odd the 3 bins. They were all jammed absolutely solid, so I couldn’t empty my bag. I was told to “just leave it on top”. But I wanted the bag back. So I found a soft Sainsbury’s bag and transferred the recycling. Not good enough, not encouraging recycling.

Staff are very unfriendly and seem anti customer, the car park is a joke and the toilets are not the cleanest (only go here if it is the last resort due to numerous bad experiences) in my opinion the best thing they could do is bulldoze it and put the market back.

Hundreds of people turning up to your store on Easter Sunday as your website and Google advise you are open but your store is closed. Very poorly managed from an administrative standpoint and a massively wasted journey

Big store with a good selection and deli counter, but...c'mon guys. That's twice now that I've bought something well within its use-by date only to find that it was already rancid (in the case of my milk) or mouldy (in the case of my onion bhajis). Please take more care regarding your use-by/best-before dates in the future; once is an exception, twice suggests a problem.

I recently purchased a bottle of Mango Lassi from your store, but I noticed that its expiry date was three days ago, on the 22nd of March. Today's date is the 25th of March. I'm concerned about the quality and safety of the product.

This shop is normally amazing and we always go to get our groceries from their well stocked shelves. However, we have recently discovered that the delicious cheese feast pizza with the crust stuffed with cheese has been replaced. This greatly upset me and my family as we used to bond over the love of this heartwarming dish, but now we are unable to eat this piquant meal and hope in vain that Sainsbury’s will bring back our beloved pizza. That is why I refrain from giving the otherwise well deserved 5 stars.
