This Indian-Bangladeshi restaurant offers an exceptional dining experience with a rich blend of authentic flavors and impeccable service. The menu features a perfect balance of dishes, all prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Each dish bursts with flavor, from the fragrant curries to the tender, perfectly spiced meats. The staff are warm, attentive, and always ready to recommend the best options. Whether dining in or taking away, the experience is consistently top-notch. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy traditional cuisine in a welcoming atmosphere!😄

I wrote a review, a few months ago, in connection with Tamasha at Lindfield about their Sunday buffet. My first experience was very good and mainly positive. As I liked it so much, I've been back several times since and rather disappointingly things seem to have nose-dived in connection with the buffet. Firstly, ok, it's a decent enough price still - £14.99 per adult on a Sunday evening. However, it struck me tonight that sometimes it's worth paying a bit more to get better quality food. This particular Sunday evening when I visited, the restaurant was very busy. It struck me though, how many people were *not* having the buffet and opting for set items from the main menu. This made me curious and, if I'm honest, raised a few 'alarm bells'. Anyhow, as I mentioned in my earlier review, it's a nice touch that you get the popadums and chutney/pickle tray included in the price. Tonight though, for two of us, we were only offered 2 popadums instead of the usual 3. Ok, no biggy in the grand scheme of things, but I wonder if they are having to make cutbacks? The plate of mixed starters was brought over very early (with the popadums really) and I find it odd that no one asks if you are vegetarian, as it's a mixture of chicken drumsticks and lamb samosas etc. My family member commented that the chicken drums were awful, quite "fatty" almost. The curry's on offer at the buffet now seem limited, especially if you like chicken. I had chicken tikka massala which was passable but I then chose chicken korma which was absolutely tasteless - awful. One of the worst restaurant indian curries I've ever had. There was a lamb and prawn curry which I didn't try as didn't like (my problem, I'll admit, so don't know what these were like). I did try a generic curry labelled "chicken curry" which again, was awful - no taste whatsoever. The bombay potato wasn't much better either. The previous week we had Tarka Dhall - well- if you could call it that - it was like water - so couldn't even pick that up properly without it running through the serving spoon. The desserts are "ok" (and now covered up since my last review when I mentioned this, as previously there were flies buzzing around the fruit) so that's a good thing that the fruit is now covered. I've read previous reviews that suggest that the buffet curries are not made to the same standard as the traditional menu ones - and to be honest, I would now tend to believe this. It seems that the buffet option is perhaps for people on a budget and food is compromised as a result. I could be wrong here, but that is the feeling I got tonight and also perhaps why many other people weren't having the buffet. I can't comment on the normal menu as I've not tried that, but I do feel that since my first positive review a few months back, the standard of this buffet has gone downhill. I find it strange that no one ever says "Was everything ok?" as waiters should do in restaurants. Not one waiter or staff member asked this important question. So, to be honest, this was probably my final visit here. Such a shame after my initial glowing review. I don't think I'll go back. I'll find somewhere else to try. Just wanted to be as honest as possible for anyone else thinking of going to the buffet on a Sunday.

Went with 3 friends on Saturday for a pre booked table for dinner. Initially good first Impressions as we were seated in a booth and drinks and poppadom orders were taken and brought out promptly. After being there a few minutes a few of us started to cough as there was little ventilation and lots of smoke and spice in the air. We later heard that the ventilators were not working and staff didn’t want to open windows as it might get cold. The restaurant was really busy and we waited a while before our mains orders were taken. We then found ourselves waiting 1.5 hours for the food to arrive! This was over 2 hours since we sat down, we did ask a few times when the food was coming out and each time was assured it was on its way but it didn’t appear until 9:15pm! I think the restaurant took too many walk ins and couldn’t cope with the number of diners coupled with the takeaway orders. As we were struggling with the smoky atmosphere it was not a good experience and friends had to keep stepping outside for fresh air. I hope it would be better if ventilators are fixed or some windows are opened. I would recommend the restaurant cease to accept walk ins on a busy weekend evening if they are struggling to meet demand of the diners who pre booked a table! Shame as the food when it eventually came was lovely. We were also offered a 10% discount on the bill due to the time the food took.

This restuarant is like the TARDIS! Seems fairly small and inconspicous from the outside, but once inside, it's quite vast and the decor is lovely, warm and welcoming. I've visited twice so far in July 2024 - to try the Sunday buffet. Currently it's £14.95 per adult. So, what do you get included for this price? Well, firstly, as a couple, you receive 3 poppadums and a full tray of chutneys and pickles. Some buffet resuarants actually charge you separately for this, so a nice touch that this is included in the price. Next, a plate of mixed starters is served - this tends to vary I think, as we had different starters provided than the previous week. (If you are vegatrian, you must let them know beforehand as they don't ask). The starters are all good quality and comprised of chicken wings, bhaji's and lamb samsosa's with a bit of salad. Very nice. The main buffet where you go up and help youself has a mixed variety of curries (some hot/not so hot) along with pilau/boiled rice, pieces of plain naan and bombay aloo. I had a chicken jalfrezi one week and a chicken tikka massala - very nice and flavoursome. Some people on past reviews have said they felt the curries weren't as "nice" as the usual menu - can't comment on that. All I can say, is that they tasted fine and of good quality. Also, there is a selection of cakes and fresh fruit salad. Now, the only reason I've rated this 4 star and not 5, is that I feel the cakes need to be under a clear plastic tub that you lift up - I saw a fly crawling around on the chocolate artic roll type dessert - this really put me off and I wouldn't have any of these cakes for obvious reasons. So, if the owners are reading this, please consider this as soon as possible, as you don't want customer's getting ill from eating contaminated food. We visited when it was really warm/hot weather and I'm not sure the restuarant has air con- it was fairly warm in there, so please bear that in mind if visiting in hot weather (apologies to the owners if you do have air-con!) Other than that, the restuarant and staff are really welcoming and it is now my favourite indian restuarant in Sussex. So much so, in fact, we've decided to visit once per month on buffet night as the food was so nice.

Food was good. However not impressed as a Vegetarian. There are only 2 veggie starters on the menu. I ordered a Vegetable Samosa. When it arrived, I bit into it, and found that it was lamb. Complained to the waiter, who said that they had run out of vegetable ones, and so they had knowingly swapped to lamb one and just shrugged his shoulders. They knew, but didn't tell me. This is poor, as I choose not to eat meat. I would worry if I had an allergy/ intorelatance and they just swapped out what you ordered for what they have in stock

Sorry, but not for me. Pros: generally nice staff (although the bill had 2 extra drinks which we didn't consume, and I had to ask multiple times for tap water), the atmosphere is quite cheerful and has an 80s/90s feel with the big aquarium and the white tablecloths. Cons: the food was in my opinion bland, this is what I call "white people Indian food". The papadums and chutney tray is well presented and the quantities are good, but I doubt the chutneys are homemade, and it was also pretty expensive. I can appreciate how this type of food/restaurant might work well in the local area, but coming from Brighton I'd stick to Indian restaurants in the city, which cost the same for a more authentic experience.

I always give a constructive and fair review and the last couple of times the food has really not been that great. When I first started going here about a year to 18 months ago the food was excellent and every single time I ordered it was spot on. More recently in the last 3 to 4 months it’s been very hit and miss, I always order the same curry and normally it’s a really high standard. The last couple of times it’s been completely different with the last time being the worst. I last ordered on a Sunday and I have very high suspicion it was not cooked fresh like it normally is and they just used the buffet curry, this isn’t a problem. But when it was full of coconut and it’s not even meant to have coconut in it. It’s not great. The starters were amazing as always, but the curry and bread were terrible. Two times in a row now that’s unfortunately the last chance I’ll give them. Will be looking for somewhere new to order from next time, charge premium prices people expect premium. More than happy to pay too prices if you can deliver. To conclude, use to be amazing and I used to recommend it to everyone. Recently been very let down, hopefully it’s just a bad patch and it improves. Steer clear for the meanwhile.

Most recently, we tried the Sunday buffet for the second time (didn’t like the first but wanted to give another chance). Service was really good, but felt food was noticeably different in quality to ordering a la carte. On the night we ate the restaurant was probably about half full, but even so it was tricky to hear eachother even just across the table. The waiters were excellent, and the food was on the whole tasty, however initially a few of our party felt that their food wasn't very warm. This however was fixed pretty quickly. I particularly enjoyed the mushroom sag side dish, however I wouldn't recommend the onion bhajis as they were quite bland and doughy. On the whole I don't regret going at all, and I would gladly go back with others if they chose to go. However, in the future I would probably go elsewhere for curry personally.

On my most recent visit we hadn’t even sat down and taken our coats off and we were asked how many poppadoms we wanted!!! The food has always been consistently poor; nothing freshly cooked, just a sauce added to whatever meat/fish you order. Recently visited TAMASHA with my friends for the first time, and had an incredible experience. The service was outstanding from start to finish. Our server was attentive, friendly. They made great recommendations for food and everything we ordered was delicious. The food was a standout. The flavors were bold and well-balanced, and the presentation was beautiful. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant. The service, food, and cocktails were all top-notch, and I will definitely be returning. If you're looking for a great Indian dining experience, this is the place to go.

We had high hopes as the place was busy and the waiting staff were friendly and efficient, this were soon dashed when the food arrived. Easily the worst Indian food any of us had eaten, my dhansak was pillar box red, the Korma had thin orange creamy sauce without a hint of coconut. All round very disappointing.

We used them recently for a takeaway. Reasonable prices, friendly and reliable service. Some of the dishes were okay, others not so good.

We ordered a takeaway for collection for a family of four. The chicken in the tikka masala and shashlik was dry and had clearly been cooked a long time in advance and then added to a sauce. Naan breads were also dry and not fresh....

My family and I visited Tamasha in Lindfield last night. The food was poor for all five of us. The vegetables were all cold, the onion bhajis were extremely dry and the main courses not particularly tasty. We have had mixed experiences at tamasha having...

After the england loss to France we came in, and the staff were brilliant, and the food was perfect, and comforted my soul. Brilliance at its finest.

Just left there. Arrived at 7.00PM.....with a Xmas party booking.. Took 30 minutes to get a drink, despite being repeatedly asked if they could get a drink. Food finally arrived at 9-25 (2 members of are party had given up and gone elsewhere as hungry)...

Visited on a Sunday when it's buffet service. It felt like all the food they wanted to get rid of at the end of the week. Starter arrived with a dodgy selection of starters including a rock hard onion bhaji and a chicken nugget that looked like it was from McDonald's? Despite the disappointment from the buffet the a la carte menu had a great fresh tasty selection. The king prawns were delicious and the nan was really tasty. Service could have been a lot better. Blunt miserable interactions "what do you want?" "Have you finished yet?" Which was unfortunate. Especially from the style and price of the venue. Overall fine meal but wouldn't go back. There are plenty of better Indian restaurants with friendly staff.

Some very good cooking but experience ruined by exceptionally loud restaurant and waiting staff didn't seem to listen then bought the wrong items. They did however make an effort and were friendly, I think we were just unlucky with our timing (there were large groups). Edited: As of May 24, no longer serving alcohol, frustrating that they didn't mention it when I booked, I didn't feel very good walking off to Co-Op to fetch wine and beer. It's also a bit awkward with beer going warm but they did provide a cork-screw and ice. Business as usual however, with regards to very good food, but yet again they seem to attract large, loud groups.
