Telesmati Takeaway in Mid Sussex

First time having takeaway from here tonight after seeing recommendations on local FB page. Did not disappoint! :)

First time ordered here, was one of the best I’ve had in my long career of Indian food! Chicken Tikka Dansack, Dhall, Bombay potato, pilau rice - superb everything

Super quality food topped with with great service hey what more could you ask, I often order a set meal and promptly change what is in the “set” meal to my own preference, what I’m trying to say is that not only are Telesmati a fantastic bunch of super quality chefs they also cater to awkward indecisive peeps like me, couldn’t recommend anyone more….

I normally am happy with my own cooking but thought I’d treat myself and was so happy with my choice, this was a wonderful treat to myself, I chose a yellow meal which is discounted as a set meal but I asked for a couple of changes which pretty much meant it’s not a yellow meal at all but telesmati were kind enough to make the changes and not worry about the price,delivery was super quick and the food arrived nice and hot, I honestly don’t know how much more I could recommend this restaurant, fantastic food and to top it off fantastic service too, id go so far as to say if you don’t enjoy it I would be absolutely amazed, authentic Indian food cooked beautifully

I get delivery and collection. Always helpful, always on time and very very tasty. The set meals are excellent.

Staying in the local area, so popped over to Telesmati to pick up a curry for dinner. Easy ordering experience online. Friendly staff when I went to pick it up. Very tasty curries with tender and moist meats throughout. Definitely recommend! :)

Ordered here numerous times and been some of the best Currys we'd ever had. The last two times though orders have had things missing or were wrong. Following the missing items from the previous order, I rang to ask where they are and was told we hadn't ordered one of said when I'd clearly heard it be ordered but mistakes happen and not a massive issue, but what was an issue was the attitude of the person I spoke to on the phone, when speaking about the item that was on the order but missing I was told "oh we might of missed this but you didn't order the second item" no apology for missing it off the order or anything and was told it would be brought back round to us shortly. Upon him arriving with the missing items, he basically threw the bag at me and just said "£4.35" for the item missed off the order that we wanted still, bit cheeky considering we just paid you £75 and you were coming back for another missing item we paid for would of been a nice gesture just to say it was on them due to their mistake and then he stormed off without even a thank you after giving him the money. The food was considerably average as well and very oily, will not be ordering from here again.

I live close by and have had scores of takeaways from then over the years and have never been disappointed. My favourite from Telesmati is tandoori king prawn masala and if you ask then they will remove the tails for you. I m a great lover of curries and in my opinion, based on the 6 or 7 types of curry I have had from there, they can be proud of themselves. Their peswari nan bread is a particular favourite of mine as a side dish. I shall rue the day if they decide to close. Well-done Telesmati 10/10, or in this case 5 stars out of 5. Glenn

Food here has been consistently amazing now for the last couple of years. You won't find any oil floating on the top of any of their dishes, just a nice rich flavoursome sauce. First class 👌

We used to order from this place all the time but it’s not how it used to be. Got the king prawn curry today and we literally got 3 pieces of prawn.

Great curry definitely the best tasting in the EG area. The chicken pathia is a firm fave, friendly guys too who run it. Doesn’t look much from outside but fab take away curry

Great food, and exactly on time!

Lived in EG for years and only very recently discovered Telesmati, through recommendation. The menu is long and over the few takeaways we’ve had there are a couple of things I wouldn’t order again but the quality is excellent by and large and not at all greasy. The best onion bhaji ever, dry and crisp, also the Hare (marinaded in apple vinegar) is great and the bhindi, kushboo, great rice and naan. Great value for money. Thoroughly recommended.

Amazing curry , very friendly staff. Would say it’s the best takeaway Curry in East Grinstead.

Can honestly say we've never had a bad curry from here. Always on time, always tasty. We've ventured elsewhere but not nearly as good. Highly recommend.

Ordered new years eve at 7.30 told our food would be 45 minutes, rang numerous times chasing where it was and told it was leaving now every time, we didn't receive our food until 10 and we had a whold persons meal missing! The delivery Driver said he would get the manager to call us back as they wouldn't answer the phone to us to tell them we had missing food. Just wanted a refund on what was missing. Won't use again, the takeaway was pretty bad as well, they should have just said they couldn't cope and not taken the order.

Messed my order, brought half of it, and when I called they asked to dubble check my order. I did... They didn't x(

Paneer passanda was nicely cooked and just right when looking for a mild dish. My husbands jalfrezi was hotter than normal, not sure if due to different chef or just hotter chillies but enjoyed it non the less

I agree, good food, but why the wasteful plastic containers? I remember using 100% cardboard ones at other places... surely it is time to change and stop using plastic, Telesmati?

PLASTIC PLASTIC PLASTIC... Please stop the plastic containers. Your food is good, but I am going elsewhere because I do not want to have 5 or 6 plastic containers EVERY TIME I come to Telesmati. Please, cardboard/foil instead.

Food is great but every time i order and request a specific time they have ALWAYS come WAY too early! You probably think I'm winging for a rubbish reason but when you've got a young family and you're in the middle of feeding/bathtime/bedtime to get to the door is a pain.. and also we spend good money and its all a little cold/ drier thank getting it when we request it! Also the takeaway containers are plastic which means you cant just put it in the oven!

Was very impressed with this, all was great with our meal, discount for collecting and great service. Recommend the lamb Bollywood Dream dish

good Indian food travel from Crawley to east grindtead just to get a good Indian meal

Very disappointed in our take away ordered last night. Usually very good! not sure if changed hands or not but the food was very below the usual.

Chicken Tikka Jalfrezi, Mushroom rice, Chicken Korma and Chips plus Prawn Balti - I dont like onions so they always accomodate by making them big enought to remove

Shocking take away. Containers were half full and our lamb madras had three pieces of lamb. The butter chicken was clearly defrosted and was still half frozen. Inedible. Will never order from here again.

Great Service and Great food. Just finished one of the chefs specials (Makhan Palak) with Onion Rice and sides. Very Satisfied. Turned up Hot and quickly. This take away has now become our regular. Thanks again Durkins Road

Best take away by a long stretch the foot is freashly coked and well prepared. Friendly efficient staff first rate

I have had many takeaways over the years and this is the simply the best, it is extremely busy at times so get in early

Terrible food service,Waste of £20.00 Never again use Telesmati.I recommend you dine in a different so called Indian take out.

I have used this takeaway for over 10 years and in the past have been very complimentary about it. The meal I had lsst night I wouldn't give to my worst enemy. Seemed like it had been half defrosted and should have been binned before I did. Totally inedible and £17, quite literally, down the toilet. I did get value for money in toilet time though and was still at it this morning. Cheers guys!!!!!

Not had a takeaway from them for a while used the hungry house app all worked ok ...2 set meals plus 2 currys rice and a side ...plenty for 4 people loads of food all brilliant will order again soon ....

We have used Telesmati for a while now and they dont disappoint, The prawn dhansak is lovely with a garlic nan as a side. The mushroom rice is full of flavour.

The prawn kerala mirchiwala was lovely, glad they kept the chillies whole so I could remove them, hot enough without, my husband loved his Chicken tikka jalfrezi with my chillies added, perfect

My family and I have used Telesmati Indian Takeaway for many years. It is located behind the Queen Victoria Hospital. If you phone your order through and collect It they offer a 15% Discount on menu prices. They also offer a very efficient delivery service which is free of charge.

Great food and great friendly service. Never been dissatisfied with the food. Keep it up. Will be back shortly

A chicken jalfrezi which was cooked very well and just right, along with mushroom rice and popadums. Lots of the menu to choose from

12 years on and they are still the best around. As delivery curries go you would be hard pressed to beat these guys. Many in the area are fantastic in their eat-in restaurants but fail in home deliveries. Not a criticism but just not what they do best. Telesmati just deliver/pick up and are superb.

Ordered a takeaway this evening at 7.20pm and was told it would be delivered 55 in minutes. Rang a them an hour later and was told that because they had busy it would be and hour from then as they had been very busy . We have been regular customers needless to say we cancelled our order and will not be returning.

Ordered our meal for 1900 but unfortunately delivered at 1815. Driver didn't know what time we had asked for. Ended up keeping dinner warm for rest of family to get home which didn't improve the food. Emailed telesmati but heard nothing. Having used then for over a year I agree with other comments that the food can be hit or miss lately. Shame. ...used to consistently good.

This take away used to be very good every time about a year ago however things changed and now I would say it is hit and miss. Sometimes curries are very good particularly if you do not order meat and sometimes they are just very poor.

With a wide choice of traditional Indian food plus some specials, Telesmati never fails to provide good quality and tasty food. They also deliver and are never late.

We regularly order takeaways from here and whatever we order the food is always delicious. There is always a half an hour wait from ordering to collection, or you can have it delivered for free, this is because all dishes are freshly prepared and cooked to order. There is a 15 per cent discount if you collect your food. They always give us free poppadoms and dips which is a lovely touch, maybe because we are regulars. We absolutely love this place and have highly recommended it to several friends, who have equally enjoyed their food. My favourite dish is the Kerala Mirchiwala, for a real hit of birds eye chillis and garlic. They do all the regular Indian favourites but some really unusual dishes too, so we just have to keep trying them all! And never been disappointed yet!
