Fishers in Mid Sussex

This fish bar has been recently renovated and has a fresh new look. As a person who is fussy about their food - I can honestly say I have always been happy with my food here. The chips are not too dry or soggy, same with the fish and the oil is fresh, hence a good balanced flavour. I know for sure being in any kind of restaurant business, its a hard act to follow - to maintain the quality of product and keep your customers happy. I wish them all the best and hope they can keep up the good work

Has changed hands several times in recent years. At one stage run by a London publican who knew nothing about fish and chips. This is predominately a take-away. Best in Burgess Hill or surrounding villages. Friendly efficient staff. Ignore historic reviews as now back in the hands of experts. New menu Jan 2023. Both cod and haddock nice and thick with crispy batter. Chips hand cut from fresh potatoes. All cooked to order. Busy Fri & Sat pm. Usual range of sundries. Spring rolls good size. Children's menu available. Now open Mondays. Delivery through Deliveroo. Now called Station Fish Bar. Situated on Keymer Parade. 2min walk uphill from Burgess Hill Station. Highly recommended.

not as nice as used to be since prices have gone up I think quality has gone down Cod is almost all batter and quite greasy chips are hard

Take away last evening. Good food as usual and extremely quick delivery. Fish was thick,not teeny flat fish, with crispy batter. Large amount of chips, I had to leave some as so many Hi 100 %

Just bought haddock and chips. We had them delivered .The delivery arrived 20 minutes later. The meal arrived hot.. Not at all greasy..The fish was a generously sized in length and thickness..The chips were crisp. Definitely recommend.

Perfectly cooked middle piece of cod, will definitely go back, very nice people, even advised that if I couldn't park, I could pre order and they would bring out to car if I gave them a beep😃😃👍

Being a local I visit fishers frequently have yet to have a bad fish and chips. Good crispy batter with beautiful batter. Chips are fab.

The lady who runs here is so friendly and lovely. I had a sit down meal ASI did the previous visit and both times both my mum and I had a perfect meal. Mums fish had perfect batter and said the cod 'tasted of the sea and was fresh, gorgeous and white, and chunky!' the chips were lovely and crisp. My scampi must have been a whole packet worth and was yummy, the mushy peas were really generous and perfect and loved the garlic mushrooms. Can't fault the service as the lady who runs here is just so lovely. I really can't understand the negative reviews on here at all.

Cooked to order take out cod and chips that my wife described as if from a supermarket - disappointing!

This establishment has a restaurant as well as the usual take out service. The portions are generous and the food is freshly cooked to order. I am unable to take batter and the restaurant coat my fish in rice flour which is tremendous giving a golden crisp outer to the fish. The standard is consistently good and we regularly use the establishment which is very friendly.

Like many others we have used Fishers for several years. Of recent times we had not been there-hot summer evenings and fish and chips don’t always go together. In my opinion it has gone down hill following the change of ownership. The fish was dry and over cooked. The chips were heavy and difficult to swallow and the pies were rubbery. Looks like we will have to find somewhere else for chish and fips:-(

Hadn’t visited this place for a very long time as the other end of town for us. What a complete waste of time, effort and good money. It ruined my Saturday night dinner without cooking and I feel very let down. The fish, despite being fresh, was bland, and the batter was flat, pale and soft; no crispy fluffy bits whatsoever. The chips were even worse and we couldn’t eat them; the whole lot went in the bin. They had clearly been refried (not in the new trendy, nice way) and were as dry as sticks. All in all I’d rate them 3/10. We won’t be returning again; what a shame!

Run by a lovely couple. Nicely prepared fish in crispy batter served with freshly-cooked chips. What more could a hungry visitor to Burgess Hill want?

I have used Fishers on several occasions for takeaways, the food is always tasty and well prepared, and the portion sizes are very good. The chips aren't greasy but are full of flavor and they are reasonably priced. There can be a bit of a wait with the takeaway service as they are quite popular, especially on Fridays!

Great fish and chips would always go back. Staff great as well what more could you want on a fishy Friday.

Have always used Fishers for my fish and chips and lived in the town for 17 years, used it tonight and could not eat it at all, there was a smell to the fish and a metallic flavour, two bites and now it is in the bin, lost my appetite, won't being using Fishers again.

I've read some of the recent reviews of Fishers, but as far as I'm concerned, having had one take away, and one sit down meal meal here, I can't fault it. I had a take away in December, and recently brought my wife and a friend here, quite late on a Saturday evening, when we were tired, and VERY hungry. The restaurant was dark, but the lights were switched back on for us, and we were made to feel extremely welcome.

Warning signs, almost empty at 6:30pm on traditional "fish and chip" night, Friday.

Unfortunately our usual chip shop was closed for Xmas so decided to try Fishers as it says under New Management which may as well have been the old management as far as I’m concerned because fish and chips we ordered was by far the worst we’ve ever experienced being it was not only tasteless but also undercooked and stale!!!

Went here last night KNEW it had changed hands so we thought we would give it a try ,unfortunately it was pretty awful ,the staff were very pleasant the food did not take too long when it arrived the fish was freshly cooked but the chips were the worst I have ever had they were not fresh Luke warm and very soggy the tomato sauce was either the cheapest money can buy or vinagerd down definitely not heinze .This used to be the best Fish and Chips now it's the worst won't be going again such a shame .

Fishers was once the best chippy in Burgess Hill and we used them for many years. Now they are the worst. The 'large' cod is the smallest piece of fish I've ever seen in a chip shop in my life and the chips coat your mouth in grease like they're really old. We tried it twice just to be sure they didn't make a mistake the first time, but when we were served the same pitiful tasteless and undersized fish we will never go there again. Such a shame, that is our nearest shop, but fortunately there are excellent fish and chip shops in town so I'll travel further in future.

I have been here for take away fish and chips quite a few times since it changed hands and twice in the last week. I think the battered fish is great - less greasy than it was under the previous owners with lovely fish. It’s nice to get home and not find half the batter stuck to the paper which always happened previously. I like the chips too. They hold their shape and are not too greasy.

Have to agree with last two reviews. We have used this place on and off for many years but don't know what has happened? Staff pleasant enough but the batter on the fish was way too thick and soggy and fish was dry and not fresh.

This place, I'm sorry to say has gone down hill. Soggy batter and tasteless fish. Chips were ok but that's about it.

Not sure what has happened to this place, we always used to go here and the food was always worth the wait. However after spending almost £40 last night on 6 tasteless meals, I shall not be returning.

We have been coming here for many many years, but tonight they have hit the top, The cod and chips just melted in your mouth, we were both saying to each other ohh this is delicious! we will be back next week!

Utilizada como la mano eran '/Corte irregular y textura variable de sabor. Ahora sabor 'fina', 'todo habitación forma misma textura y (lo siento) sosa. This restaurant is under new management & it was my second time for an order. I ordered a cod & chips takeaway for 2 by telephone. I arrived on time it was already for me. We went home for our meal & I have to say it was absolutely excellent. Cod perfect & chips perfect every single one.Great staff,very helpful & a smile on their faces.Great times ahead for this restaurant,thank you.

Fish was excellent. Generous portion, lovely crispy batter. Great white chunks of cod. However, we all thought the chips were awful and threw most of them out. I've not seen any other negatives about the chips, so perhaps we were just unlucky. Good friendly service.

I can't believe that after 40+ years in Burgess Hill, this is the first time I've tried Fishers.It was totally my loss, as the food was of excellent quality and the staff couldn't have done more for us.Expect me back again pretty soon!

The fish just melted in your mouth and the chips were brilliant. I would recommend going to this place if you want a lovely meal out, that is not too expensive. Brilliant x

Used to use this place quite a lot but overtime I have phoned through to place an order they only seem to have half the things I want. When I eventually get there to pick up my food, on a number of visits they tell me they have run out of certain things and would I accept different food in place. Not too impressed

Called into Fishers tonight for supper, really great fish and chips, all freshly cooked. good value for money.

We call in here quite often after a trip to Brighton and we are always greeted by friendly staff. We travel by motorbike and sometimes don't have the bag on the back so have to stash the food down our fronts! However, the staff always double wrap our food so that we don't have to break the speed limit to get home or suffer with third degree burns! Quality food and fantastic service!

Bit hit or miss this chippy fish quality varies its average to good and can be a bit greasy at times.

Really lovely fish and chips , freshly cooked . Crispy batter and portion size great. Chips were super too! Excellent value for money . Will definitely revisit .

What can I say if you want to try the best of English cuisine you need to visit this place. Not only is it situated in the best town in West Sussex it has the best fish and chips in the World. Keep up the good service guys!

We have just visited Fishers for a sit down birthday meal for 5...2 adults and 3 children and I'm glad we did!We ordered 2 X regular cod and chips, and 3 children's meals which consisted of sausage and chips, battered sausage and chips, and fish cake and chips.We also ordered side dishes of curry sauce, mushy peas and beans.The fish here is amazing! The batter is so light and the fish is melt in your mouth and came with a quarter of lemon and a generous helping of chips. The children's meals were generously sized with jumbo sausages which the children gave a thumbs up to. This is by far the best we have had in Burgess hill and surrounding areas and would highly recommend a visit to this family run restaurant / take away.Thank you Lucy and Costas! We will be back :)

A friend recommended Fishers knowing how much I like fish and chips. We went there and ate in there restaurant,I cannot thank my friend enough for his recommendation great fried fish and chips and grilled for her indoors, we most defiantly will be returning

I have visited Fishers many times since moving to the south side of Burgess Hill some 15 months ago. I always receive a warm welcome and consistently excellent fish and chips. The top quality fish is always cooked fresh to perfection in the lightest and flavoursome crispy batter, and the chips are similarly very good. Having sampled fish and chips from many parts of the country over the years, I can definitely recommend Fishers as amongst the best if not the best. Thank you folks.

I visit Fishers every week for take away cod & chips. The quality is superb, it is all cooked fresh to order, the portion sizes are generous and the staff are very friendly. I would not go anywhere else for fish & chips.

visited Fishers on a thursday evening in february,as usual we recieved a warm welcome.We were a party of four and all went for the fried haddock and chips,although thetake-away section was busy our meals in the restaurant were serves at our table in about ten minutes.The food was really delicious and they were very good portions.I would have no problem in recommending Fishers as probaly the best fish and chips in mid sussex

My friend and I visited Fishers for a birthday lunch treat.........and what a delicious treat it was! From first entering we were warmly welcomed by the very pleasant owners, a husband and wife team.We thoroughly enjoyed our cod and chips, but just as importantly we enjoyed the friendly chat we had with Lucy, the owner.....who took the time to talk to us. Fishers is definitely worth a visit and I can guarantee you'll be returning, just like we shall be.

I regularly come to eat at Fishers as it is favourite fish & chips shop around. I have tried food from other fish and chip shops in burgess hill and about, but none of them are anything special, but Fishers is very warm and friendly. It is family run and they perform kind service to all of their customers. The place is very clean and by the looks of it they have won a few awards for cleanliness and customer ratings. I always recommend Fishers to anyone who would like Good Food, and Great Confident Service. Looking forward to my next visit!

Worse fish and chips I have ever had! I was the only one ordering food so there is no excuse! Batter was soggy, chips were soggy and sausage was....well I have no idea what it was! It was that bad that we didn't eat it! Will not be returning!

Bad bits first - Five of us visited arriving at 6PM having booked a table for 6PM, we ordered within five minutes of arrival but waited 45 minutes for the food to arrive. During this time the beer order got confused to a cider order due to a difficult person amongst us, not entirely their fault. A slight whiff of damp in the restaurant, and a bit chilly.Good bits - Clean dining area. Very nice staff, brother and sister make the place work and even though we had to wait an unreasonable time for food to arrive, we were told that there was a big take away order going on at the exact time we arrived.Food - very good - portions are reasonable value, well cooked and very well presented. Take away side of the business very busy, I think they prioritise that side over dining in. I would like and expect to see them do well because they are trying hard and are keen to do well, very likeable people. Good luck to them as they strive to improve.

Whenever we travel down from London to see family, We always pop into Fishers Chip Shop! They have the best tasting fish and chips (also sausages and chips as our boy would say!) It is a very clean and well maintained shop, who cook everything to order, so if you are funny about where you eat like myself, you will have no problems eating here! The staff are very friendly and helpful. We have also eaten in their restaurant and would highly recommend both the take away service and the restaurant to everyone!! Can't wait until our next visit!!

Just a wonderful meal. I only had a few hours in England so every chip had to count. My brother took me here and Fishers hooked me up with the good stuff. Perfect chippy chips. Exactly what I wanted. This isn't a drop in and go place, where the food may have been sitting for hours. Every meal is prepared to order. You can ring first to save time, but to watch as the fish is carefully selected, filleted, then dipped in lovely batter, before it is carefully placed in the fryer. Really makes your mouth water. You stand and watch, tick follows rock, thins' just any old chip shop. THIS IS A FISHERS chip shop. Still enough old adverts my dinner is ready. Keep it up Costas and co.

Had not been to Fishers for a few months as was unsure of the consistency on a Friday night.Tonight, though was very good. Booked the takeaway and got the food on time. Normal great portions and still hot when I got it home - well done.

sometimes the meal is o.k but recently I have had poor quality fish and soggy batter. The prices are quite high for what you get also.Not bad for kids meals but stick to pies, savaloys and roe if you want consistency

My partner and I stumbled across this place whilst driving back down to Brighton, never knew it existed but will be going back again for sure.I opted for cod & chips and my partner who is vegetarian went for spring roll & chips. Trying not to exaggerate but I can honestly say that the battered fish is the best that I've ever tasted, the batter was light and crisp, and also wasn't too thick for my liking. I commented that I wouldn't have minded a few more chips and I was then presented with an additional side plate of chips. My partner commented that her food was also very nice too and said that her spring roll was hot and crispy. Service was very welcoming and Lucy (I think that was her name & hopefully got it correct!) was very polite and willing to have a conversation, not just about fish & chips. This place seems to have quite a few regulars, which assured us that the food must be good quality before we even tasted our first mouthful of food. I'm glad to see returning custom to any business. I think that the decor is a bit dated and could potentially do with an update. However, please don't be put off by it because the quality of the food will soon occupy your thoughts.This place is a take away 'chippy' with an added bonus of also being a restaurant for those of you that wish to sit down and eat in. Great family run business with excellent food quality and service too.

Having been here a few times I find the quality of food here to be exceptional and always freshly cooked.

Great food. Not greasy like some fish shops. Always nice and hot when it arrives.If you want to use the take away you can order it by phone first, it is then ready for collection on arrival.

I rarely succumb to take away meals, but as we were in the area we called in for Cod and Chips. The fish was freshly cooked and the best I have eaten in many years, and the chips crunchy on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside, non greasy and very tasty. Perfection! I will certainly be returning for more in the future.

I can't speak for the restaurant, which a lot of people appear to speak highly of, but in trying Fishers instead of my normal F&C shop, I was left disappointed with my take-away F&C meal: the chips were pale and a bit underdone but OK, and the fish was a bit on the thin side for a 'large' and the batter was dripping oil, which I think was the most unappetising aspect of the meal. Essentially I think that as the food was being cooked to order it just didn't get the chance to stand and 'mature', which I think would have improved both food items.

We have tried various chip shops around town and this is by far the best one, non greasy and great tasty.

We have been to Fishers before and thought it is about time we wrote a review on how excellent it is. Six of us visited today, the food was just as excellent as usual, fish 10 out of 10, chips peas bread and butter just right and especially the pineapple fritters and ice cream, these were to die for.The service was brilliant and could not have been better, we were made to feel like we were family friends. If you have not tried Fishers you must give it a try.

The best cod and chips I have ever had. The fish was so fresh and the batter just perfect. Very friendly staff and the puddings were home made and absolutely delicious. Definitely recommend the Devils food cake just divine.

Best haddock I've ever had, full flavour, freshly cooked. Regular treat at least once a month now. Staff always polite and courteous, and remember you. Can't be beat. Tried the other two main chippies in town when we first moved here 6 years ago, but then found this place by recommendation. Why go anywhere else when you've found the best?

Passing through, stopped, as we live in France to taste English favourite meal,very warm welcome and amazed to find rose wine nicely chilled from our region.very clean ,well decorated, and tasteful restaurant, absolutely no smell of the cooking.the fish my favourite Cod , was cooked to perfection, light batter and as requested small portion of chips. , the desert ,home made cheese cake was to die for.Will be back, on our to do list.Thank you for a pleasant eveningRichard

Our go to fish and chip place when the fish and chip van isn't in the village!Freshly cooked every time which means you might have to wait a while but you can phone in and pre order which saves a wait in the queue.

We only moved to Burgess Hill in Dec 2013 and hadnt tried any fish and chip shops in the area before. We saw Fishers in passing and thought we would give them a try. We hadnt had fish and chips for ages and was really looking forward to them........what a massive disappointment. The chips were limp and soggy but the biggest let down was the fish, the batter was soggy (no crispiness at all), I scrapped it off and left it in a pile on my plate. We wont be returning and a waste of £12.50. Below average food, was surprised as it was very busy and thats normally a good sign?

Simply the best fish and chip shop in the area. I always have takeaway but unfortunately on a diet at present - but I shall be back....!

The only chippy you need to know about in the town. Good portions, freshly cooked cod and chips always tasty, and cannot fault food or service. Has always been my favourite and now the latest owners have improved everything. Everyone in there is happy and friendly and serve you with a smile. This was proved when they went on holiday and I went to another fish and chip shop. It did not come near to the quality or service so don't bother going any where else in the area. Plus you can ring and order to be picked up 10-15 mins later. I only get take aways but know others who have used sit down part of restaurant and have also said its just as good.

I have lived in Burgess Hill all my life. The lovely family that have taken over Fishers in the last few years have made Fishers definitely the best chip shop in town.The food is always top quality.The staff are all very good and friendly, you can ring up and pick your order up.I travel the world a lot but always look forward to my fish and chips from Fishers.If your in town, I am sure you won't be disappointed.Go for itKTx

I visit Burgess Hill regularly and always make a point of visiting this family run restaurant. The portions of chips are generous and so tasty and the fish is cooked to perfection. The dining room is clean and attractive and you will receive a warm welcome.

Fishers is now our regular weekly treat! The fish is always excellent, beautiful white fillets, cooked to perfection. The chips are exactly how chips should be (and there's plenty of them!).Service with a smile, wonderful fresh food and all for a fiver. What more can you ask for?Thanks Costas!

We have been going to Fishers for about 3 years and although it changed hands a couple of years ago it still has a similar feel to the older version. We have taken many friends and family there.

Having just returned from a holiday flight, my wife and I were looking for a quick and easy but tasty meal. Fishers gave us all this and more - the fish and chips were probably the best we have tasted anywhere, and the service was excellent. If you like fish and chips, you'll love Fishers!

I don't very often have fish and chips as I am always left feeling disappointed with the quality of the fish. However, my family had been out for the day and we didn't have time and couldn't be bothered to make a meal so we stopped off at Fishers on our way home for a take-a-way.The menu was varied as you would expect and although we didn't order it, I noticed that Skate was available - not something many chippies offer ! Other delights included battered burgers and saveloys, and even good old spam fritters. The young man who served us was really pleasant and helpful, even though we changed our minds on the order twice AND asked for everything to be wrapped separately - nothing was too much trouble. Everything (including the chips) was freshly cooked to order which meant waiting about ten minutes but I never mind waiting a little if the end result is worth the wait. The prices were let's say in the upper region for fish and chips but again, I'd always rather pay a bit extra for a really good meal, and fish and chips are already excellent value compared to other take-a-ways anyway.And a really good meal is exactly what we got. The fish was amazingly fresh, I'd be hard pressed to believe that it hadn't been swimming in the sea that very morning ! The batter was just right too, not greasy but light and crispy, just how we like it. I can honestly say without hesitation that it was amongst the best fish I've ever eaten anywhere. The chips were still nice, but a little bit powdery however allowances must be made for the time of year and the quality of available potatoes. I'd like to say that afterwards there were empty plates all round but due to the vast portions we simply could not eat it all - if we had known we might have been tempted to share portions (but I doubt it lol). Everyone agreed that the quality was first rate and it was a hugely enjoyable meal. Can't recommend highly enough, well done Fishers 10/10.

Having used FIshers for the past 20 years or so, I have always enjoyed the wonderful aroma of good fish and chips and the experience of genuine fish and chips fried in a traditional way. Before today I would have always recommended it to anyone and rated it as 5* - However, having been away from the UK for more than a year and once again anticipating some of the finest Fish and Chips around, when I retuned earlier this week I and my whole family (5 of us) were all totally dismayed to find the chips were thick and dry and appeared to have been part processed or perhaps even frozen?. They were simply not the high quality traditional chips we have loved so much and had for many many years. I know the ownership of the shop has changed but had hoped the quality would have been maintained - alas it has not - what we were served with was no better than what you might expect to get in a cheap pub - tasteless, odorless, soft and dry. Come on FIshers - you are supposed to be a traditional Fish and Chip shop - at least live up to that! After all these years I won't be returning - and luckily our town has other very good Fish and Chip shops which will now be gaining my custom

We visit Fishers regularly, sometimes to eat in but mostly to take away and the quality is excellent. We always order large cod and always get a beautiful fillet fried to perfection. The staff are friendly and helpful.

I travel a lot with work so eat out a fair amount! I never find anywhere as good as my local chippy, so when I went to FIshers I was expecting the same fish with soggy batter and the usual old dried out chips. So it was a great surprise to find this is not the case. Everything was cooked in front of me and it was perfect, especially the fish and the portions were pretty big. There were a lot of people coming in so its probably quite a popular local place to eat. Basically the best fish I've had so I will definitely go there again if I am working in the area again.

So what.... It's only a fish and chip shop! Think again. My wife and I had heard some very good and interesting comments about Fishers in Burgess Hill. This is not our nearest town,but as we like fish and chips, and were not impressed with our local, decided to travel the 5/6 miles each way to give it a try.The first thing that we noted was the 5 star award proudly displayed on the door. It was obviously clear on entering that this was no ordinary fast food outlet. Greeting us were two very smartly presented chaps in their pristine whites, displaying wide smiles. The cooking and serving area was well lit and sparkling clean. Prices were clearly displayed with plenty of comfortable seating for customers to relax as they waited for the freshly cooked orders.We were escorted by a very pleasant and chatty waitress named Angela into the licensed restaurant. This is a very well presented area, seating up to about twenty five dinners. The owner himself offered to assist and explain the extensive menu. To our surprise the fish was offered grilled as well as fried. And that's not all, we could even have it skinned. Drinks arrived quickly, mine a large diet coke, and my wife chose free tap water. Both drinks were served from a tray with the water in a small but amble jug including ice.The plaice, said to be medium was large, and my haddock grilled to perfection even included a knob of butter. Chips were very good and the portions large.All staff were kept busy both in the restaurant and take away; this was surprising for an early Wednesday evening.Highly recommended at any time you are in the area.

We regularly visit Fishers when we fancy fish and chips. The owners are very friendly and welcoming and the service always good. We find it so much better to eat in their restaurant where the fish is freshly cooked especially for us rather than take it away and it is a good excuse to have a glass of wine as well!

Fish and chips is not normally something that one can really get excited about. Of course, they can be good or bad with a couple of varying degrees between, but that's pretty much it.Our recent evening trip on 15th March has changed all that. Our friendly waitress Lucy took our order. Our drinks arrived swiftly and it wasn't long before myself, my husband and my mum were tucking in to our Cod and chips and Haddock and chips. The fish (both cod and haddock) had a beautiful texture, it was creamy, white and beautifully cooked. The batter was evenly cooked, crispy, golden and delicious. The chips were lovely too, they were good quality and evenly golden. I also opted for mushy peas which came separately in their own little china bowl as a very generous tasty portion. Our sauces came decanted into their own little pots which was a pleasant surprise, (no grubby ketchup bottles here !!) The portions were generous too, The restaurant itself is very comfortable and everything was so clean.Lucy and Costas have turned eating Fish and Chips into a very pleasant gourmet experience and Burgess Hill is the richer for it. Be it take-away or eat in Fishers will always be our first choice. A big thank you goes to all, keep up the good work, you have a wonderful establishment.Efxaristo !!

We have lived in Burgess Hill for 30 years and we always use Fishers for our Fish and Chips. Excellent food every time. It is also located very close to the railway station. They have an attached restaurant with can also be useful on occasions as well.

It was a cold dark evening, I had to get some food inside me and did not have that much time. I was in the middle of Burgess Hill with a selection of restaurants of varying standards. Where to go? I headed passed the station to see what looked good there, got to the chippy and thought why not. I've not had fish and chips for a long time as it's not my thing really.With no one in the restaurant next to the counter service takeaway I thought they may not be open, but I was shown into the room by the young man on the counter, it was cold in there but he switched on the main heating and also an electric heater next to where he sat me, a couple of minutes later I was warm.They took my order and in a few minutes my meal Cod, chips and cup of tea arrived. Tea in a pot was hot and drinkable, large piece of fish and enough chips both very hot and very tasty. Looking at what was happening in the takeaway area they cooked all food to order so no soggy chips or warm food from here.Really enjoyed this meal and the friendly staff were a bonus all for £10.Oh and if you see the wife remember if you saw someone looking like me in Fishers, it was not me.

We had a pleasant meal here a couple of nights ago.The skate was cooked perfectly and the batter was great. The service was excellent - friendly and helpful. I will certainly visit again.

i have only ever had take away from here but you can sit and eat too. i love this fish and chip shop because everything is freshly cooked to order. Lovely crispy batter and delicious. Prices are reasonable and they provide something to read and a seat Well worth the wait while its cooking.

Always used to be the best in town... sadly now they are owned and run by some very rude staff and their health and safety standards have also dropped significantly - I witnessed an older man picking up a chip from the floor and put in back in the pot!Avoid this place at all costs! There are many other good places in Burgess Hill

Family run business with very friendly staff. I've used them several times in the last year. My fish was cooked to order and was really tasty and the chips were good too. This is my chippy of choice but the fact that it is so close to the station is an added bonus because you can pop in on your way home from an evening out!Highly recommended.

WOW! Great sized portions, very good quality and not expensive. I'll never use anywhere else from now on. I can only assume the couple of negative comments on here related to the previous owners because so far my experience of this place has been faultless.

Great Fish and Chips and always with a smile!My local and portion sizes are great too. Quality is great and also they sell Skate. If you haven't tried it, a definite must, but please ring in advance and order !!Great Family run business.

I am surprised at several negative reviews about Fishers.They are simply the best fish and chips within a 10 mile radius.We eat in the restautant and the service is excellent. Would definately recommend a visit, you will not be dissappointed.

Since the new owners have taken over, Fishers has returned to its very best. Fantastic fish, with nice light crispy batter, and great chips.Cannot recommend high enough!!!!!!

Simply the best chippy in town. And you can ring your order through to save waiting for it to fry. Excellent!
