The food here I have generally always thought of as a better quality than any other local Thai restaurants which I accepted the higher prices for. Having spent two years living in Thailand eating only Thai cuisine, and being able to speak some of the language also, I was unfortunately disappointed in the lack of 'dining out' experience we had here. Not even a single candle or a flower at the tables, they were literally bare. No authentic decor or staff uniform etc. There was a portable gas fire in the middle of the restaurant for heating which didn't help the overall ambience; it just felt much more geared up to being a takeaway venue with a few tables for good measure than a lovely restaurant experience. The same food in a different environment would have tasted much better I'm sure!

Went here for dinner with a group of friends. The restaurant was virtually empty apart from our group but it was a Thursday evening. I had prawn toast as a starter and duck paradise with sticky rice as a main course. That with one drink came to just under £30 so whilst the food was good I felt it was overpriced. However I would probably go here again.

We’ve ordered from Lemongrass on several occasions - no issue all good. Tonight I order a vegetarian massaman curry takeaway. Food arrived marked with a V. On the order slip it stated tofu and vegetable massaman curry. I had a few bites and asked my husband if the odd texture I was eating was meat, he confirmed it was beef I had been eating. I have been vegetarian for 35 years. I was subsequently sick. I called the restaurant and was told “oh yes the kitchen has made a mistake” they could send me another curry. When I asked to speak to the manager I was told I had to sort a refund out with Uber eats. Just warning other vegetarians or indeed anyone with a food allergy that you may not receive what is ordered.

Whilst the food is tasty, unfortunately the service is poor. Forgotten, ignored, spoken to rudely, mistakes with orders, hour wait for a starter, no visible manager on duty. Loud and intrusive delivery/takeaway coordinator in the middle of the restaurant. As a venue, they seem to prioritise takeaways over the dine-in customers (of which there were only 5 tables in during our entire visit). When paying, we opted not to pay the OPTIONAL service charge. And this was not dealt with well either. To be honest, it was a surprise we didn’t just walk out! Might be great for take away as food is good. but I wouldn’t recommend it as a dining out venue. To top it off, apparently my payment declined (not according to my bank) but ended up in a text message debate! Not the most professional. I’m not normally one for a negative review, but this has really frustrated me.

We have been purchasing takeaways from here for 5 years and always had fantastic food. This weekend, we ordered our usual dishes, having not had a takeaway from here for several months, so it was very much a treat. Unfortunately we were left very disappointed, not only were the dishes smaller than previous, our red Thai chicken curry only had 4 very small pieces of chicken, with the rest made up of veg. The flavours were not as good as they were previously and whilst we know everything has increased in price recently, to pay an extra £15 on the 5 dishes we used to buy, taking it to £47, this will unfortunately be the last time we order from here.

Placed an order via Just Eat and waited more than hour after the stated delivery time. The restaurant was uncontactable and the delivery driver felt obliged to call to apologise for the lateness. Terrible delivery service! I’m told the food is good but better you go to the restaurant as they haven’t worked out how take away delivery works yet!! Hugely unreliable!!! Very disappointing.

This was actually our second choice while visiting the area as the other Thai restaurant was closed for a family meeting. It was very busy with takeaways and deliveries when we arrived but they still managed to serve us quite quickly and the food was freshly cooked. Would have liked a bit more heat in the Thai red curry, but everything was very tasty and not too salty.

Had take away a a few times and been okish, treated ourselves in Friday evening (29/11). Husband ordered a king prawn pad Thai. Charged us £16.50 😧 Was very “grumpy” and pasta stuck together in clumps. Phoned to tell them and they were not helpful at all, tried saying it was “always like that” which is wrong as not been like that before. Had got fed up with Chinese so thought Thai for a change, bad mistake, will not be visiting again, expensive too

Always enjoyed the food here having been a few times now. The mixed starter was perfect for our family of four and didn't feel overly greasy when tempura 'fried' options, in fact was very nicely cooked. Really good selection of dishes to suit all tastes and a decent drinks menu. Between our group we enjoyed some chicken and duck dishes with varying levels of spice. Some of the seats and general decor have seen better days but staff are friendly and accommodating.

Booked a table at the restaurant for a meal just prior to Christmas because our usual Thai restaurant (Bangkok Brasserie) was shut for the evening. On entering the restaurant we were just pointed to a table without any welcome whatsoever which was not a great starting point. We ordered wine and my friend asked for some water but was never given any. Both me and my friend love Thai food so we were hopeful we would enjoy the food if not the welcome. Sadly the starters turned up, one vegetarian tempura and one duck spring rolls - both were horribly greasy and in the case of the tempura, some bits seemed way undercooked. We were not provided with any crackers as we would ordinarily expect to receive. The mains were not too bad, although lacking in the usual depth of taste and smell you normally associate with Thai food. The red wine was nice and the chocolate at the end was a good conclusion (sadly my friend suggested that this was the nicest part of the meal!). Service was adequate but no warmth behind it - just going through the motions.I understand this restaurant is part of a chain so probably lacks the intimacy and warmth of the Bangkok Brasserie. Certainly wouldn't use this restaurant again as it was not a very enjoyable experience.

Went to the restaurant yesterday while on a business trip. When my colleague and i arrived at the restaurant we were greatly warming and given out pick of the available tables. After been given appropriate time to look through both the drinks and the food menu our order was taken by the warm waiting staff.Provided with our Thai prawn crackers and fiery but sweet chilli sauce we were given our starters of duck spring rolls and chicken satay. The spring rolls were served with a lovely hoi sin sauce and although deep fried were so fresh and you could taste everything that was in them. The side salad with the addition of some finely shredded chill added to the dish perfectly. The chicken satay skewers were moist and succulent and served with the same side salad and a delicious freshly made satay sauce. On the the main course which we both had with the BEST coconut rice we have ever had. it was sticky and sweet just the way it should be. The first main course was the specialty duck curry with tropical fruit. The fruit went perfectly with the fiery yet coco-nutty curry and the rice absorbed all the sauce to make the perfect plateful, The second main was the beef stir fry with ginger and garlic, again the beef was so succulent and tasty. In both main courses even though they included strong flavors you could taste ever ingredient and it was as fresh and ziggy as could be.

My wife asked when placing the order how long this was likely to take and was told my the lady on the phone that it would be around 45-60 minutes. After an hour she called to see how much longer it would be . the first follow up call was answered and then the phone was hung up . On the second attempt the lady answering must have recognised our telephone number as she knew our names and said the driver left 3 minutes ago and would come straight to us.We waited. And waited . Finally at just before 8.30 the food arrived ! It wasn't very warm either. I like the food here but I don't like being misled or lied to . I dined at Lemongrass, Burgess Hill for my birthday. Whilst it is fair to say the food was good. The restaurant lost my leather jacket and the subsequent follow up (or lack of) has been negligent at best.A reputable company would wish recognise the fact there has been a problem, accept their responsibility and wish to sort it out, from the owner and restaurant's lack of response this is clearly not the case. Such a shame, needless to say, we choose not to dine in an establishment where there is such little concern for their patrons. I certaily wouldn't bother going there!

With our daughter home for the weekend, we booked to have dinner here after a previous excellent meal. We had two soups and tempura prawns as starters, followed by Beef Masaman, and two hotter curries with sticky rice, coconut rice and egg fried rice. The total bill including a beer, gin and tonic and a large bottle of mineral water was a bit over £70.00, but the automatic service charge of over £7.00 was annoying. If you have received good service [we did] you would naturally leave a generous tip, but not everyone would challenge the amount if they felt service was lacking. This time, we felt that although good, the food was not as outstanding as before. Quite salty, especially the soups, but also not as spicy as suggested on the menu in the case of the two curries which were supposed to be hotter. We ordered far too much rice, which was our own fault. Two portions would have been ample, unless you happen to be ravenous. We would go here again, probably to try some of the sizzling steak dishes, but overall, this second visit did not live up to our first. The restaurant was very busy on this occasion, as opposed to moderately so last time and we wondered if this might have affected the quality a little. Service was charming and quite prompt.

Previously, I would have rated the food as very good but this time the only word I can use is ‘bland’. I ordered a Jungle Curry which is usually fairly hot and even carries 3 little chillies beside the name on the menu! I suspect that NO chilli had been used at all. All flavour was missing and the dish was just - tasteless. Very disappointing. I did mention to the waitress when paying, who suggested that it was a fairly hot dish though for local tastes had been reduced in heat. Apparently I should have ordered ‘Thai hot’ though I’m not sure how I would have known this.Overall food was uninteresting and a little boring. Perhaps the chef has changed since my last visits?Overall I would give Lemongrass one more go, despite the annoying automatic service charge!

We’d been looking forward to date night here for a while, having read lots of positive reviews. Unfortunately, the reality was a disappointment. We booked a table earlier in the week but they couldn’t find the reservation and when they did, they’d booked us in for the wrong time. It was all rather embarrassing and badly handled, despite them eventually giving us a table - having stood around for some time with no clue what was happening. We ordered starters of prawn tempura (delicious and plentiful, if a little overpriced) and duck pancakes (which were fine, although again not great value). For mains we ordered a Phad Thai with prawns and a beef red curry. I asked for rice noodles with the latter and was given another full meal. When they arrived, the prawns turned out to be just prawns in a sauce (no rice, although the bill described it as prawn rice). The red curry was very nice but oily and not very authentic. The noodles were very nice but not really what I’d wanted, I just wanted noodles. When it became clear that everything had arrived, we had to order a rice dish but even then the supposed phad Thai was very small.Service was okay but not great. The atmosphere was fine. It all felt a little underwhelming though and we won’t be going back, which is a shame as there aren’t that many restaurants in town.

Me and my hubby went to the Lemongrass after a friend told us it was really good. True to our friends word, the food was really nice - we had our wedding in Thailand 4 years ago and it definitely reminded us of our time in Krabi. That's really where the good experience stopped for us.What was totally bizarre was some guy sleeping on one of the benches across the restaurant, snoring! Just not really something you'd see in a restaurant of this quality, or any quality, even a Macdonalds! The staff kept just peering over at him and about halfway through our dinner he kinda came to and stumbled to the door that leads to the toilets, leaving us in a completely empty restaurant with just a young girl serving us.It was just something totally unexpected like he was treating it as his living room or something and completely unprofessional for customers to see.

The first time I visited was when this restaurant first opened. My meal was fresh and delicious and all you could hope for in a Thai meal. Service was excellent and very friends. My second visit was really disappointing, the food was very greasy more like a reheated Chinese than the fresh Thai flavours was hoping for. The staff however were as friendly and courteous as ever and can not be faulted. I would think twice about going back.

What a lovely place. My husband treated me to dinner on Friday night and we will definitely be back. For starter I had scallops and my husband had chicken satay which was delicious. Main course was thai curry and rice, yum! The staff were really friendly and nothing was an issue. A lovely evening. Thank you Lemongrass!

6 of us went for dinner between Xmas and New Year. Nice surroundings and good service. The food was excellent and the wine list well chosen. Will go back when in the area.

Reasonable sized suitable for families or parties we felt a bit put in the corner as a couple. Enjoyed the shared shredded duck to start and a couple of pleasant traditional Thai curries for mains. Broad wine list for all pockets. Service was consistent and happy. Sticky rice cooked flat in bag then rolled into straw serving pot was a visual and taste disappointment.

After reading good reviews of the restaurant, my husband, daughter and I booked a table for a Christmas Eve meal. Service was welcoming and prompt and the restaurant was bright, nicely decorated for Christmas and well laid out, with decent spaces between tables. We shared starters of tempura prawns, prawn toasts and satay chicken which were all delicious, then had a massamum curry, a sizzling prawn dish and a beef stirfry. With sticky rice, coconut rice, three alcoholic drinks and water, the bill came to about £70.00, very reasonable for outstandingly good food-probably the best Thai food we have had anywhere and highly recommended.

Smart restaurant, plenty of space between tables. Busy Saturday night but staff very friendly and helpful, and no wait to be served. Food was fabulous and very good value for money. Will definitely visit again and will recommend to friends.

Visited with our son and daughter in law to celebrate his new job acceptance. Hardly anyone in there when we arrived, although this could be that it was a Sunday evening. However, service was excellent and very friendly, and food was absolutely superb. Everything was fresh and beautifully presented, and was as good as anything we had had whilst touring Thailand last year. Thoroughly recommended.

6 of us visited and we were treated to a very warm welcome from the friendly staff. The food was excellent and we all enjoyed the set meal. Cooked fresh but still very quick out of the kitchen. Would definitely recommend as it has been consistently good over several visits.

Only had 2 takeaways so far but the food was cooked to perfection, had great flavours, been ready when they said it would be ready for collection and definitely one of the best Thai’s we have had. The staff seem very pleasant and will certainly be eating out here soon in the restaurant very soon. A takeway consisting of 2 courses for 2 people cost us around £35, so not too bad.

After rejecting the 1st table offered (it was pretty empty and the table offered was in an awful position) we got a nice table towards the back of the restaurant.Food was okay, however, I really cannot say it was memorable.Drinks menu was limited, however, the Merlot was reasonable.Biggest issue was the amount of children and babies in attendance, I counted 5 different children between the ages of 2 months to 6 years old, which is not great if you want a romantic evening, even more so when 1 new born baby is at the table next to us and another young child is Being breastfed to our right.Cost of the meal was fine, but we will not be coming back.

What a lovely restaurant. Large portions and superb service. Food is delicious. Well worth a visit. We had a set meal for two plus and extra main and there was enough for two adults and two kids (10 and 13).

We booked a table for four people The staff were very efficient in taking orders and for drinks We ordered set menu for 2×2 to have a variety of food and I must say the food was very nice golly was a lot of it Definitely going back again and value for money There is plenty of parking around and it’s free so not too far to walkI would say because of the popularity of this restaurant on the Friday/Saturday night it’s always best to book

The title say's it all, the food and service were both amazing. The staff went out of their to help selecting something suitable for my daughter who has a rather unusual intolerance. The manager in particular was especially helpful.

I went to the Lemongrass for an evening meal with my husband. The young waitress was warm and welcoming and she and the other member of staff who served us were polite and attentive. We've not experienced much Thai food but this was lovely, wonderful flavours particularly the curry with potato and cashew nuts and the coconut soup. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed it.Our experience was soured towards the end of our meal when I needed to got to the loo. I waited for over 20 minutes for toilet before going back downstairs and asking the waitress if someone was in there. She told me she knew there was someone in there and suggested I use the gents toilet instead with apologies. After I finished, I went to check if the ladies was still occupied...it was, this is for over 30 minutes already! When I came back downstairs and I told the staff to go and check if the person in there was OK because they'd been in there a very long time. At that point another female staff member came out with her mobile phone in her hand and the manager immediately pointed to her and said it was she who had been in there. Clearly she'd been taking her break in there or something, which had caused me to wait for so long. The manager did apologise but that was me and my husband waiting for now 40 minutes just so I could use the toilet. They really shouldn't use a place meant for customers to take their break.

A friendly greeting and attentive service were the first big impressions. Food came quickly and was well presented. A very nice Thai experience! and the staff could not be more helpful. Our friend had her birthday but the owner did not know this until I let it slip, he couldnt do enough to ensure a special occasion was made of the evening...we will be back!

Had a gorgeous meal here. First time we have been and we were both really impressed. Service was really friendly and it was nice to see them getting involved with singing happy birthday to people. The food was incredible, the tom yum soup was gorgeous and the fried tofu starter was really tasty. For mains my other half had the most generously portioned red curry I've ever seen. Will definitely be back!

We normally enjoy all the Lemongrass food but the welcome here is not as friendly as at the Hove restaurant. In fact the Burgess Hill manager comes over as rather diffident; not just with us but also with younger groups apparently spending freely. On a Friday lunchtime we planned on trying the tapas menu for the first time. We were told this is not available on Fridays or Saturdays. Disappointing as we'd travelled from Brighton. This is not explained on the website. We were also advised not to have identical (spicy) meals in case we didn't like it - despite saying we had eaten the dish in Hove. We felt patronised but took the advice. The second choice proved just as delicious!
