Delicious authentic Thai curries

Delivery time changed and ended up being half hour later than the original time, but we were kept informed.

Blimey Baan Thai - that was really bad. Gutted about the food we had tonight as we have not had a Thai takeout for a couple of years and were really looking forwards the it. Chicken satay and spare ribs were both so dry and overcooked they were inedible. Red duck curry was completely tasteless and I have never had such a horrid pad Thai - was sloppy noodles with very little flavour or texture. The only good thing was the prawn toast which was lovely and juicy and the Thai crackers.

Spent a little while placing an order for collection through their website after having the site crash a couple of times. Made payment and then received an email saying that the restaurant had been sent my order. I waited a further 15 minutes before receiving an email from them to say they won’t be accepting my order and I would get a refund in 4-5 workings days. What a joke! Do not bother ordering from them as this was on a Monday and they clearly couldn’t be bothered on a quiet day- can’t imagine what it would be like at a weekend.

The absolute best Thai takeout in the area. They do the best Penang curry I’ve had outside of Asia and a great Pad Thai. Tenderised squid is always very tender.

Food was hot, doesn’t happen often around here. Fish cakes excellent, chicken satay awful. Dry - why not cook in the sauce? Pad Thai was average but plenty of meat which is great. Probably the best Thai in the area but definitely not ‘authentic’

Hadn’t had one a meal from here since 2018, and treated just myself to the set meal for two last night. Huge portions for around £30 and tasted just as good the next day. Used to live opposite so would be a regular customer, first time delivered and it was fantastic.

Haven’t had a meal from here in years. Used to live very near and would pop in reasonably regularly. Now live further away and the food arrived hot, and early. The set meal for one is great value, still some left over for tomorrow as well.

despite ordering from the vegetarian SET menu, sent curry with shrimp paste. had to strongly put across that fish isn't vegetarian. Was told a vegan option was available, accepted replacement. then called back to say there is no vegan or vegetarian red curry. accepted massaman instead. the guy who delivered continued to try and suggest no error on the restaurant, then couldn't understand why I didn't want to keep and eat the red curry. glad I'm not allergic to stuff or what would have happened?

Really good quality, very tasty and a decent price

Good thia but bit expensive now. Would be good to bring back the Wednesday sanook deal of starter main and rice which was 8.5 couple of years ago roughly. At a higher but good price. 1 star due to higher prices I would say 4 or 5 star at a deal price but I'm not sure quality is worth it at full price. Good big portions on mains. Somewhat overrated as a lot of reviews are from when it was a bargain on Wednesday or lunchtime £5 deal

Great thai, so pleased this is our local. Food is always amazing. staff are friendly, Pete and his team work hard and always look after us!

Just ordered through Uber eats. Damn this was bad. Tasted off, nothing about my order was pleasant. Ribs were all fat and tasted like that, massaman tasted off, the rest just tasted horrible. Won’t be ordering here again

Arrived on time. 3 chicken dishes. All dry and chewy, unable to eat any of it. Definitely frozen, cooked, frozen again and poorly zapped in a microwave again. Seriously inedible. Phoned them straight away and got ‘you have to complain to Just Eat’ to get your money back if you can. As a chef, won’t eat it and won’t recommend. Avoid.

We ordered take away from Baan Thai 2 recently through Just East, and I very seldom don't enjoy food but this food was awful. The beef was rubbery and chewy and the noodles were dry and tasteless. Such a disappointment.

Very disappointed, food was dry and tasteless. Beef was very dry and very chewy. Lacking flavour. Such a pity, was looking forward to a tasty meal but feel like I wasted my money and food wasn't cheap.

Terrible we have not received our order despite saying delivered

The duck was so soggy and barely had any veg on the side. The pad Thai was dry and barely had any seafood to go with it. Would not order again.

What was good: kept updated re. delivery time. What was poor: the food and the packaging. Nothing was freshly cooked. I can understand noodles are precooked and kept warm but the chicken was dry and hard and had been sitting around. The mixed starters were old and dry and ended up in the bin. Polystyrene containers are just not on. Can't be recycled. Not needed for home delivery.

Best Thai food we've had outside of Thailand. All the dishes we had were delicious and really fresh. Can't recommend Baan Thai 2 enough. The service from the young counter staff was also excellent. Thanks for a great meal.

Best Thai meal I’ve had from all Thai restaurants in burgess hill. Freshly cooked and delicious.

Not recommended. Having visited Thailand and experienced all other offerings around burgess hill and Haywards Heath, this place is a strange one. The food is ‘alright’, it’s cooked by a Thai chief, but lacks authenticity. It’s a sort of English version but less flavour and less, well, Thai. Noodles are dry packaged noodles of the cheap variety. Go soggy soon as mixed with some sauce. The whole thing is loaded with oil, can’t get the smell out the house. Jungle curry is watery and loaded with chilli but lacks flavour. Im pretty sure a good basic home cooked recipe will yield better results. All in all not sure how it scores so highly.

Great takeaway, very tasty. Offers gluten free options too, if you let them know. Highly recommended.

Food arrived 3 hours after ordering i was no longer in the house i went to get other food, couldnt cancel without paying so food went to flat mate 3 hours after ordering 3 hours after ordering!!

Pad Thai had an excellent flavour, let down slightly by the chicken which was quite dry. Decent portion sizes though and excellent spring rolls. Would definitely order again, just probably wouldn't add the chicken next time. Noodles on their own were good enough.

Vegetable tempura - appeared to be left over Christmas veg and not a typical Thai selection. The vegetables were also hard. Noodles - dry chicken and little flavour.

This is without doubt the best Thai meal we have had outside of Thailand. We had the set menu D. I am not even sure what we are but there was a chicken curry that had an almost floral flavour. Then a spicy prawn dish that was fiery but full of flavour.

Papaya salad tastes like home, really very authentic. Tom Kha Gai is on the sweet side and I wish there were more galangal in there to make it more flavourful. The chicken is overcooked. But, Som Tam just tops everything, so ... hahaha.

I hate leaving negative reviews but have just ordered from here for the first time in a few years after a bad first experience. No better this time unfortunately. Flavourless soup which needed sorting at home. Bone dry chicken and noodles which again, needed flavouring at home. I WANT small businesses like this to be good but this meal was very, very poor. Doesn't feel like there is any love going into their food at all.

We've ordered collection a couple of times, really easy. The food is lovely, especially the squid..!! My one star loss is due to slithers of chilli in the prawn toast, I'm not keen and a friend of mine has a chilli allergy but the chilli isn't listed as being in there, luckily he didn't have any. Also there wasn't enough satay sauce with the satay skewers. Can't fault it otherwise.

Read before ordering…. Move on nothing to see here…. unless you have long covid and have lost your taste and smell! by all means order and waste your money. The food from starters to mains bland, Dry, Unseasoned, tough… trust me make beans on toast you will thank me…

Hands down the worst Pad Thai I have ever had. A pot of plain, greasy noodles, with dry and chewy chicken and scrambled egg on top. No flavour, no veg, just really really greasy. Picked all the chicken back out because it wasn’t worth chewing through. Also had the most dry and salty chicken satay and a massaman that’s sauce tasted like salt and acidic tomatoes. Really really awful.

Chicken was tough, overcooked and just bad quality. Yellow curry was quite bland and the tenderised squid was also bland and chewy. Will not order again.

Nothing special. Tried for the first time, food was just ok. Green curry was way too spicy when they are generally more fragrant, Pad thai was nothing special. Jasmine rice that they delivered was just plain boiled rice. Wouldn't recommend.

Excellent quality - best Thai in burgess hill

Food was inedible, fish cakes were so rubbery it needed a steak knife to cut. Squid was soggy and batter had fallen of all the squid and was very greasy (could not eat it). Curry was bland, swimming in oil and the chicken was so tough and dry it was not edible. Tried to ring to complain but no one answered. Was also given chips that I did not order

I ordered Satay, Singapore noodles with Chicken and prawn crackers. I was so disappointed. The noodles tastes like chicken super noodles with some raw veg and dry chicken in. The satay was dry and came with the smallest put of peanut sauce! The prawn crackers are not the same as Chinese ones. Spicy. I wouldn't order from them again

The order arrived on time but that was the only good bit. Chicken was so tough and dry it was inedible, the sauces were really watery and tasteless, phad thai noodles were slimy and stuck together. All in all it was the worst Thai food I have ever experienced and will not be going there again. We have had a bad experience here before but wanted to give them another chance, last one I am afraid. Generous portions but awful food.

I had a take away about five years ago from this restaurant and I remember being very disappointed 😞 However we were with friends and decided to give them another chance looking at some of the recent reviews.. 🤨 Not up to our Thai standards and did not feel this was authentic, we have visited Thailand and many Thai local restaurants this was definitely the worst food locally.

I tried this place for the first time and it was by far the worst Thai takeaway I have ever had. Unfortunately, the food was flavourless with just lumps of meat in flavourless water. I had the massaman curry which tasted nothing like it should (or at least how its tastes in an actual authentic thai restaurant I've been to before!!) The chicken satay was dry, the spring rolls clearly heated up from frozen, the sauce for the thai curry tasted as though it was from a packet mix, but worse. I am very disappointed, and although cheaper than competitive Thai restaurants, the price I paid was not good enough value for the standard of food I recieved. I ate two mouthfuls of food and had to stop, it just wasn't nice at all and I won't be returning! Although quick and efficient delivery, the food standard and flavour wasnt up to scratch I'm afraid.

Tried out this place for the first time recently, it's only down the road from us so was hoping for a great experience. Food was well packaged and hot but I always judge a Thai meal by the quality of the Pad Thai. Unfortunately it wasn't great and was quite disappointing. Reading through some of the other reviews this seems to be a theme. Hopefully Baan Thai receive this feedback and make some changes. I'll then consider trying them out again, but currently can get better elsewhere.

I love the food at Bann Thai 2 - so have lunch for me and the wife weekly except when she is on a diet of chicken and water. The stir fries are really good with a maximum quantity of lovely vegetables, carrots, brocoli cauliflower, and the meat of your choice. Lovely sauce of your choice, and nice sticky rice. This is a restaurant that I frequent the most and if you look at my profile, you will see that I am glowing where restaurants give a lovely service with good food. So if a restaurant gets " Excellent" then it really is. Bann Thai 2 were able to flourish during Lockdown 1 as they were able to stay open for takeaway, and I am sure will do very well again during Lockdown 2 and 3. If you can go and pick up your food, this would help them out a lot, there are alot of misery-gutts moaning about delivery delays, I never have any delay, as when I go to pick up at the time they say.... I go and it is ready. As Spock said " Remember"

Online ordering is quick and efficient, instantaneous confirmation of your order. Delivery arrived 20mins after the allotted 1/2 hour window but not a problem. Delivery driver polite, friendly and Covid aware. A good choice for a customer facing role. The salt and pepper squid with a Thai sweet chilli sauce, was nothing short of delicious and plentiful. The pad Thai, noodles were cooked to perfection, full of flavour. We went for the seafood option, which Is my only real criticism. Each of the 3 dishes had approx 3 prawns, 2 mussels and 1 piece of calamari. I’ve had many seafood pad Thai’’s around the world but sadly this contained the least amount of seafood of all. Shame! could have easily been 5 stars with a little more generosity with the good stuff. All three of us got the impression of a plate of noodles with seafood afterthought.

Below average flavour unfortunately! We wanted to like this so much because it’s one of very few reasonably priced Thai’s around. The girl on the desk was friendly, the ordering online was simple & the food was piping hot but the flavour was really just not there at all. We had a Thai red and a massaman curry with a mixed starter.

The delivery was on time. As a family lockdown meal is was okay. Three starters prawn toast was the best, on the squid and shrimp the butter around was for me very heavy. I enjoyed my sweet and sour pork, my daughter had noodles but they were like tagliatelle she did not like it at all. Would I order again hm not sure. I needed some brandy to help my digestion afterwards.

We thought we'd try somewhere new, and were glad we did. The service was very friendly and the food was tasty - the prawn toasts and fish cakes tasted homemade and had a bit of a spicy kick which was great, and Panang curry came with a pot of chillis to make the curry hotter if you wanted to which was also really nice. Pad Thai didn't really have a sauce but a pot of sauce came separately and when eaten with this was nice - would go again.

Picked up a couple of Wednesday specials to have with my family and it was lovely! The mince pork on toast and the Gai Yang with Rice was fantastic. Lots of empty plates and satisfied bellies.5 people well fed for £40, will absolutely visit again.

The best thaï, very generous portions and lovely staff

Ordered a take away at 5.30 on a a Saturday night just as they opened. The food was flavorless the beef was tough,! I Had pad Thai noodles “well I have never eaten tasteless pad Thai before and that is my favorite.” I really don’t recommend it.

Ordered a take away online at 6.30pm at 9pm they called to say they had no chicken left! So now looking at another hour wait!!! Children starving! Adults starving! Not good at all! Cancelled in the end due to sheer frustration! Even called at 8.15 for an update! Terrible!!! This was a £70 order so all in all won’t ever be using them again. Not a regular winger on trip advisor as love to see local businesses doing well but on this occasion a massive let down. Very disappointing!

Having had some very good thai meals lately we thought we would give one of the local takeaways a try. The food we received wasn't bad, but wasnt up to the standard we have had lately, it was a bit lacking in flavour and quality overall. The penang curry I had was very thin, which was unexpected as this tends to be a thicker curry, I think I was actually given a green thai curry by mistake. The sticky rice I had it with was served in a plastic bag which was a bit odd. It all tasted OK, but not the best I have had. My wife's pad thai was a generous portion but again, have had better elsewhere, was fairly lacking in flavour. Price was OK, but I dont think we will be returning anytime soon

I love the lunches here and sometime my wife and I have one each, I love the Meat ( Chicken or Pork ) vegetable stir-fry and the Beef Ga Praow, the latter is nice and spicy. The Chef is Thai and so knows her stuff, I love going here and would go here any day than a fast food restaurant. Keep it up guys ! We love you.

What more can I say, when the expected experienced turned out more than just expected. Highly recommend to try out in Baan Thai, unless you try, you wouldn't experience the joy of its taste. Keep it up. Thank you. 😘
