Baan Thai 2 Ltd in Mid Sussex

Good thia but bit expensive now. Would be good to bring back the Wednesday sanook deal of starter main and rice which was 8.5 couple of years ago roughly. At a higher but good price. 1 star due to higher prices I would say 4 or 5 star at a deal price but I'm not sure quality is worth it at full price. Good big portions on mains. Somewhat overrated as a lot of reviews are from when it was a bargain on Wednesday or lunchtime £5 deal

Just ordered through Uber eats. Damn this was bad. Tasted off, nothing about my order was pleasant. Ribs were all fat and tasted like that, massaman tasted off, the rest just tasted horrible. Won’t be ordering here again

Arrived on time. 3 chicken dishes. All dry and chewy, unable to eat any of it. Definitely frozen, cooked, frozen again and poorly zapped in a microwave again. Seriously inedible. Phoned them straight away and got ‘you have to complain to Just Eat’ to get your money back if you can. As a chef, won’t eat it and won’t recommend. Avoid.

Superb takeaway food really excellent and will certainly be back. Very tasty pad Thai noodles and spicy chicken wings were amazing

We ordered take away from Baan Thai 2 recently through Just East, and I very seldom don't enjoy food but this food was awful. The beef was rubbery and chewy and the noodles were dry and tasteless. Such a disappointment.

The duck was so soggy and barely had any veg on the side. The pad Thai was dry and barely had any seafood to go with it. Would not order again.

What was good: kept updated re. delivery time. What was poor: the food and the packaging. Nothing was freshly cooked. I can understand noodles are precooked and kept warm but the chicken was dry and hard and had been sitting around. The mixed starters were old and dry and ended up in the bin. Polystyrene containers are just not on. Can't be recycled. Not needed for home delivery.

Best Thai food we've had outside of Thailand. All the dishes we had were delicious and really fresh. Can't recommend Baan Thai 2 enough. The service from the young counter staff was also excellent. Thanks for a great meal.

Not recommended. Having visited Thailand and experienced all other offerings around burgess hill and Haywards Heath, this place is a strange one. The food is ‘alright’, it’s cooked by a Thai chief, but lacks authenticity. It’s a sort of English version but less flavour and less, well, Thai. Noodles are dry packaged noodles of the cheap variety. Go soggy soon as mixed with some sauce. The whole thing is loaded with oil, can’t get the smell out the house. Jungle curry is watery and loaded with chilli but lacks flavour. Im pretty sure a good basic home cooked recipe will yield better results. All in all not sure how it scores so highly.

Really love it here, the food tastes authentic unlike lemongrass (which is terrible) the man who owns it works really hard and accommodated a delivery for me himself - really nice chap- red duck curry is awesome

This is without doubt the best Thai meal we have had outside of Thailand. We had the set menu D. I am not even sure what we are but there was a chicken curry that had an almost floral flavour. Then a spicy prawn dish that was fiery but full of flavour.

I hate leaving negative reviews but have just ordered from here for the first time in a few years after a bad first experience. No better this time unfortunately. Flavourless soup which needed sorting at home. Bone dry chicken and noodles which again, needed flavouring at home. I WANT small businesses like this to be good but this meal was very, very poor. Doesn't feel like there is any love going into their food at all.

We've ordered collection a couple of times, really easy. The food is lovely, especially the squid..!! My one star loss is due to slithers of chilli in the prawn toast, I'm not keen and a friend of mine has a chilli allergy but the chilli isn't listed as being in there, luckily he didn't have any. Also there wasn't enough satay sauce with the satay skewers. Can't fault it otherwise.

Hands down the worst Pad Thai I have ever had. A pot of plain, greasy noodles, with dry and chewy chicken and scrambled egg on top. No flavour, no veg, just really really greasy. Picked all the chicken back out because it wasn’t worth chewing through. Also had the most dry and salty chicken satay and a massaman that’s sauce tasted like salt and acidic tomatoes. Really really awful.

Nothing special. Tried for the first time, food was just ok. Green curry was way too spicy when they are generally more fragrant, Pad thai was nothing special. Jasmine rice that they delivered was just plain boiled rice. Wouldn't recommend.

I ordered Satay, Singapore noodles with Chicken and prawn crackers. I was so disappointed. The noodles tastes like chicken super noodles with some raw veg and dry chicken in. The satay was dry and came with the smallest put of peanut sauce! The prawn crackers are not the same as Chinese ones. Spicy. I wouldn't order from them again

The order arrived on time but that was the only good bit. Chicken was so tough and dry it was inedible, the sauces were really watery and tasteless, phad thai noodles were slimy and stuck together. All in all it was the worst Thai food I have ever experienced and will not be going there again. We have had a bad experience here before but wanted to give them another chance, last one I am afraid. Generous portions but awful food.

I had a take away about five years ago from this restaurant and I remember being very disappointed 😞 However we were with friends and decided to give them another chance looking at some of the recent reviews.. 🤨 Not up to our Thai standards and did not feel this was authentic, we have visited Thailand and many Thai local restaurants this was definitely the worst food locally.

I tried this place for the first time and it was by far the worst Thai takeaway I have ever had. Unfortunately, the food was flavourless with just lumps of meat in flavourless water. I had the massaman curry which tasted nothing like it should (or at least how its tastes in an actual authentic thai restaurant I've been to before!!) The chicken satay was dry, the spring rolls clearly heated up from frozen, the sauce for the thai curry tasted as though it was from a packet mix, but worse. I am very disappointed, and although cheaper than competitive Thai restaurants, the price I paid was not good enough value for the standard of food I recieved. I ate two mouthfuls of food and had to stop, it just wasn't nice at all and I won't be returning! Although quick and efficient delivery, the food standard and flavour wasnt up to scratch I'm afraid.

Tried out this place for the first time recently, it's only down the road from us so was hoping for a great experience. Food was well packaged and hot but I always judge a Thai meal by the quality of the Pad Thai. Unfortunately it wasn't great and was quite disappointing. Reading through some of the other reviews this seems to be a theme. Hopefully Baan Thai receive this feedback and make some changes. I'll then consider trying them out again, but currently can get better elsewhere.

I love the food at Bann Thai 2 - so have lunch for me and the wife weekly except when she is on a diet of chicken and water. The stir fries are really good with a maximum quantity of lovely vegetables, carrots, brocoli cauliflower, and the meat of your choice. Lovely sauce of your choice, and nice sticky rice. This is a restaurant that I frequent the most and if you look at my profile, you will see that I am glowing where restaurants give a lovely service with good food. So if a restaurant gets " Excellent" then it really is. Bann Thai 2 were able to flourish during Lockdown 1 as they were able to stay open for takeaway, and I am sure will do very well again during Lockdown 2 and 3. If you can go and pick up your food, this would help them out a lot, there are alot of misery-gutts moaning about delivery delays, I never have any delay, as when I go to pick up at the time they say.... I go and it is ready. As Spock said " Remember"

Late. Late ALWAYS LATE! I would never use them again were it not that the food is delicious. Just order 1h45mins before you want it.

Online ordering is quick and efficient, instantaneous confirmation of your order. Delivery arrived 20mins after the allotted 1/2 hour window but not a problem. Delivery driver polite, friendly and Covid aware. A good choice for a customer facing role. The salt and pepper squid with a Thai sweet chilli sauce, was nothing short of delicious and plentiful. The pad Thai, noodles were cooked to perfection, full of flavour. We went for the seafood option, which Is my only real criticism. Each of the 3 dishes had approx 3 prawns, 2 mussels and 1 piece of calamari. I’ve had many seafood pad Thai’’s around the world but sadly this contained the least amount of seafood of all. Shame! could have easily been 5 stars with a little more generosity with the good stuff. All three of us got the impression of a plate of noodles with seafood afterthought.

Below average flavour unfortunately! We wanted to like this so much because it’s one of very few reasonably priced Thai’s around. The girl on the desk was friendly, the ordering online was simple & the food was piping hot but the flavour was really just not there at all. We had a Thai red and a massaman curry with a mixed starter.

The delivery was on time. As a family lockdown meal is was okay. Three starters prawn toast was the best, on the squid and shrimp the butter around was for me very heavy. I enjoyed my sweet and sour pork, my daughter had noodles but they were like tagliatelle she did not like it at all. Would I order again hm not sure. I needed some brandy to help my digestion afterwards.

We thought we'd try somewhere new, and were glad we did. The service was very friendly and the food was tasty - the prawn toasts and fish cakes tasted homemade and had a bit of a spicy kick which was great, and Panang curry came with a pot of chillis to make the curry hotter if you wanted to which was also really nice. Pad Thai didn't really have a sauce but a pot of sauce came separately and when eaten with this was nice - would go again.

Picked up a couple of Wednesday specials to have with my family and it was lovely! The mince pork on toast and the Gai Yang with Rice was fantastic. Lots of empty plates and satisfied bellies.5 people well fed for £40, will absolutely visit again.

Ordered a take away at 5.30 on a a Saturday night just as they opened. The food was flavorless the beef was tough,! I Had pad Thai noodles “well I have never eaten tasteless pad Thai before and that is my favorite.” I really don’t recommend it.

Ordered a take away online at 6.30pm at 9pm they called to say they had no chicken left! So now looking at another hour wait!!! Children starving! Adults starving! Not good at all! Cancelled in the end due to sheer frustration! Even called at 8.15 for an update! Terrible!!! This was a £70 order so all in all won’t ever be using them again. Not a regular winger on trip advisor as love to see local businesses doing well but on this occasion a massive let down. Very disappointing!

Having had some very good thai meals lately we thought we would give one of the local takeaways a try. The food we received wasn't bad, but wasnt up to the standard we have had lately, it was a bit lacking in flavour and quality overall. The penang curry I had was very thin, which was unexpected as this tends to be a thicker curry, I think I was actually given a green thai curry by mistake. The sticky rice I had it with was served in a plastic bag which was a bit odd. It all tasted OK, but not the best I have had. My wife's pad thai was a generous portion but again, have had better elsewhere, was fairly lacking in flavour. Price was OK, but I dont think we will be returning anytime soon

I love the lunches here and sometime my wife and I have one each, I love the Meat ( Chicken or Pork ) vegetable stir-fry and the Beef Ga Praow, the latter is nice and spicy. The Chef is Thai and so knows her stuff, I love going here and would go here any day than a fast food restaurant. Keep it up guys ! We love you.

Peter's wife is Thai - so she knows how to cook. Gosh my lunch was lovely, I went for chicken stir fry with rice for lunch. Absolutely lovely. Nice chicken, vegetables. Forget all the negative reviews on here, this place is amazing. I have lived in Thailand and so know what is Thai and what is not. If you are too lazy to go and pick up your food,.and want it delivered - and moan about it being late or wrong, then order by phone and then go and pick it up. Now I have had great food from here, I will definitely be going back for more ( instead of Greggs )

Authentic Thai meals and Great service. Have been several times and have never being disappointed. The portions are generous and they cater for Vegans.

I use this take away once a week and have done for months, have tried various starters and mains, everything I have had has been amazing! You can tell it is cooked by someone that knows their Thai food. The flavours are great and fresh, they are very accommodating and always friendly. I love Thai food and this is by far one of the best. I would not use any other Thai now locally.

Very disappointing the food was greasy and non edible it was a treat to have Takeaway at £42 I will not be a returning customer !! Shame as the first time was lovely !!!

Surprisingly nice, the Thai food was fresh and zingy, we also had the duck pancakes and found them nicer than our usual Chinese restaurant makes. Happy to recommend.

Last night we had a most excellent home delivered Thai food. All the dishes were fresh, hot and succulent. The delivery time specified was when the food arrived. We have used this takeaway before but last nights meal was by far the best. I would highly recommend this establishment if you like Thai food. Asked for extra spicy and it was certainly that. Very well done.

Tried the Baan Thai for the first time this evening... our eldest wanted a take away so we scouted around our local options. This is actually very close to us and thought we'd give it a go. Have to admit, it's the first time in a long while that we've not been slightly disappointed by a take away. We ordered two starters, four mains and two noodles; we made plain rice ourselves. Every dish was superb, full of flavour; spicy but not overly so, so a real pleasure to enjoy. We've some leftovers which we'll save for later. Top marks, and we will certainly be using Baan Thai again.

Ordered a takeaway a few weeks ago. The Pad Thai was really bland with no flavour and the massaman curry really oily. The salmon and chicken dish we ordered were better. I'll be sticking to lemon grass.

Takeaway service is excellent, hot, on time and tasty. The set menus offer great value and are very enjoyable. The duck special is perfect. If you're ordering food, I'd recommend picking up a singha beer to accompany it. Reasonably priced, tasty good. Definitely not a takeaway you'll regret. The sitdown lunch service offers a causal dining experience, with good food and interesting travel books.

Drove from Haywards Heath to collect a takeaway, starters were OK, the crispy Duck was awful, Pre shredded which is always a worry ( iso on the bone) it was dry, not very crispy and tasted from maybe Iceland !

Really nice food. I had a beef stir fry with thin strips of beef which are hard to cook well and they were perfectly cooked. The red curry was done well as well and a papaya salad that was hot and tasty. I wish them all the best. I think best Thai in mid Sussex and good value. Don't change a thing

Lovely food, taste and flavour was there but I found the service to be lacking. Ordered for collection and it took about an hour which was fine but got home to realise we had a wrong dish. When we phoned we were asked to pay again for a new dish even though we didn't order or want what we had. I feel this was disappointing as the mistake was on their end and should have been simple to resolve, for that reason I am scoring it lower than I would have for just the food.

Just found Baan Thai in Wilvesfield. We love this take away menu. Great online ordering service and the food is simply delicious!

I have been moaning for some time that there aren't any good restaurants in Burgess Hill.

Had out first takeaway from Baan Thai and it was gorgeous, thank you, and so easy to order online for delivery and easy to pay with a card. thank goodness we have a descent Thai in Burgess Hill, saves us having to travel to Bournemouth for the best Thai food in the south.

The food tastes so good. Full of flavour and piping hot delivered to our front door in the time they stated. Haven't had Thai for years but love it so they had a lot to live up to. We will definitely be going back here. They have a loyalty scheme too which will come in handy. Definitely try these guys. Amazeballs!!!!

Lovely Thai food with that real Thai taste. The fish cakes and Papaya salad (Issan style) were wonderful. Thai Chilli Basil, Pad Ka-Prao (ผัดกะเพรา) tasted great, infact it tasted as good as my Thai wife makes. The best way to know if Thai food is good is to get a Thai person to sample the food, if they give you the thumbs up you know its good. We will be using Baan Thai again.

I have recently just came back from Thailand. So, we thought we would order Thai at 'baan Thai' and it is amazing will order again. It is affordable price for a pretty big portion of food.

Great authentic Thai food at an excellent price.

Flavourless and watery food. Complete waste of money, threw food in the bin. Really bland. Rang them and they got the order wrong. Then, when they corrected it, what we were given was rubbish. Thai food cooked properly is rich in flavours and texture whereas what we were given was horrid.

Great to have a lovely family run Thai take away in the area. I especially enjoy the Som Tam papaya salad and the Pad Thai Noodles

Had a take away from here, Chicken green curry, tapas 2, sweet sour king prawn, pork toast, sweetcorn cakes and cocnut rice. Chicken green curry - very flavoursome and fresh but chicken was very dry Tapas 2 was disappointing very dry and overcooked "frozen chips" and 2 dry lumps of chicken. Pork toast was very soggy but overcooked on the outside "fat was too hot" Sweetcorn cakes were tasty. Sweet sour king prawn was very fresh and the veg was full of flavour but king prawns were a little tough. Overall it was full of flavour and edible, but very disappointing tapas.

Just had our second take-away from here; both were really lovely. The service is great and they catered well for my annoying allergies. One of the best Thai meals we have had in Brighton and the local area.
