Staying on the island for a long weekend and the kids wanted curry. Ordered takeaway from here and it did not disappoint in flavour. Very nice indeed.
The only fly in the ointment is we ordered it for 7:30pm and it turned up at 6:20 - but luckily we were in and hungry!
We had been looking to visit here for about 3 weeks prior to our trip to IOW this week. It looked so lovely down by the beach and largely had good reviews. We went for breakfast today, not many people as it was early. Didn’t feel very welcomed from the off. Then breakfast arrived. Very very undercooked eggs, to the point where the white part of the egg had made the toast soggy. It wasn’t edible without making you have an upset stomach. I wasn’t rude just took it back and said these eggs are to under cooked for me, no eye contact from the old man behind the counter, no oh sorry about that or let me sort this for you! Nothing just silence acted as though - I was mud on he’s shoe!! Utterly disgusting behaviour, from who I assumes was the manager/owner, as he was a lot older than the younger boys that were there. Never, have I been treated that way before. He never said a word. It was completely unnecessary, I wasn’t rude to him. I couldn’t have eaten the eggs, they were snotty and not what should be served. Really ruined our day. It had such potential, it’s lovely inside the coffee was good. The view is incredible, but the staff let it down. I really felt there was no need for he’s treatment at all. I wasn’t being out of line not to eat raw eggs!!!! I’ve noticed there’s another review on here about uncooked food. I think they may need to retrain their cook. Shame…..
Lovely boozer. Great atmosphere and excellent prices, everything you want for a night out. Cheapest round in a week and actually cheaper (and better) than back in the north east.
The guys here need a serious lesson in custom relations and need to learn some manners, amazingly rude. Claim not to have had access to their website for 7 or 8 years, although it was updated last year or to be able to get Google to update their times etc…. find somewhere else
Had a takeaway this evening. Everything was over cooked and chicken was very tough. Must of been cooked day before?? Far too expensive won't be going there again.
This is a nice pub with friendly staff. We visited for a light lunch.
My husband had the £15 deli lunch of moules and frites with a drink. It was a starter portion size, with decent sized mussels and nice hot fries. The sauce was a bit bland, but on the whole it was value for money with a pint of been included in the price.
I had the crab croquettes. These were two large mashed potato croquettes with parsley but I couldn't see or taste any crab whatsoever. The potato was very dry and crumbly, and thank goodness for the aioli. I had assumed it would be a hot dish, but it was barely warm.
We were sitting a matter of feet from the bar area, and although the table next to us had a check back about their food, we weren't asked at all.
My starter was £9, but I didn't think this was value for money and was very disappointed with the quality and lack of crab. We would try elsewhere next time.
Very accommodating for a group of 13 hikers, provided an excellent meal and great drinks at the end of our long walk. Everyone enjoyed their freshly cooked meals. Great menu.
Visited for the Sunday Carvery. The choice of plate size was so easy to follow and well explained. Food was delicious - hot and freshly cooked. Recommend the Choux dessert. ALL of the staff (special mention to Ant) were cheerful and chatty. Such a nice relaxed atmosphere. Will definitely come again.
Omg Sunday Lunch was lush. Good family meal, with individual cauli cheese each, and good portion sizes. Got vouchers from Price is Wight. Young waitress , sorry we didnt get your name, was excellent, and she's only been there 4 shifts. Our group mentioned her to the mamager/owner, and as we walked away I overheard her say well done, that's great, and only your 4th shift. Was good to see support to staff and encouragement. Will definitely be going again
Stopped for a quick sandwich and coffee, smallest sandwich I
I’ve had in a long while, served on thin sliced bread. Cost for 2 sandwiches and 2 coffees was £24.20, extortionate in my opinion
Called in for Lunch and had a reasonable time. The Beer was good, the comfort acceptable, the ambience OK, and the food adequate but somewhat basic for the prices charged.
Lunch not a patch on years ago when the food was prepared and interesting.Wonderful terrines , cheese as an option for a supplement.
Seems to be Brake Brothers standards now
From the outset the bar staff were friendly and helpful and could not be faulted the food was exquisite and the portion sizes were just right , the value for money was spot on.
The ambiance with the view over the Solent as the sun went down was captivating
Thank you Seaview Hotel for a memorable evening
