A flying visit for a quick meal. The food is home cooked and really tasty. Sausage and Mash and Lasagne both mega nice. We felt guilty leaving as quick as we did for no other reason than we were both tired after a long day out because the Landlady and her family are really nice. They were so friendly and took time to make you feel welcome and dog lovers too. What more do you need.

Now THE BINSTEAD ARMS. Visited the Pub on 16th Jan' for a few drinks with friends. ( Having a catch up with friends down from Suffolk ) As a Local , this was the first time I'd been in the Pub since its change of name. Superb ! Chloe , was spot on. Efficient , Sociable and offered service with a smile. The Guiness was excellent at ( for these days unless your in a W'spoons )a reasonable £5.50 a pint. I had half a dozen. A cold night outside but a roaring log fire warmed our cockles. We didnt eat on this occassion but the food looked superb. Indeed , the Landlord of another popular IW Pub was dining there that evening. The Landlady was very friendly and chatty. Our friends from Suffolk had two Labradors who were made welcome. The Pub itself is immaculate and the Toilet facilities spotless. I'll certainly be going back. The background music was another good touch too , great playlist !

Now the BINSTEAD ARMS - Such a wonderful experience with friends. It has changed so much with new landlords, decorating, open spaces, much more modern, very warm and welcoming staff who couldn't do enough to make our visit special on this Christmas Eve. The Sunday dinners were excellent - very fresh food and a good amount. Other diners there were raving about its new image, music nights and general improvements. We will definitely be back, especially as it is very dog friendly. There is even a photo wall of dogs that have visited., Donna Jones MBE, Ryde

This was my third visit and both times previous the food was lovely, sadly, however this was not the case this time. I ordered the sirloin steak with mushroom compote and green peppercorn sauce. The steak was disappointing as it had not rested, however it was cooked well and tasted ok. This was not the case with the mushrooms, they were served in a thin lemony sauce which had no place on the plate and certainly not with a peppercorn sauce. The other meals were average, chicken burger bun overcooked and asparagus very undercooked. There were also edible flowers on the plates that just seemed pretentious. I'd like to add that the service was brilliant and I may return when they bring back the old menu!

It's a shame to write this review as I've enjoyed some good food at this pub especially Sunday lunch but this experience was not good and could so easily be rectified.Four of us dined one Wednesday evening. The starters were okay although not difficult - garlic bread etc. Three of the main courses however were poor. Two orders were for tagliatelle with crab and lobster. The expectation was the sauce would be wine and garlic. It came in a thick tomato sauce which overpowered the crab and lobsteer. When we advised the waitress, she checked with the kitchen and we were told the menu advised a "bisque" sauce. We double checked and it did say bisque but even that is not a thick tomato based sauce. Additionally I had the vegan "curry" on a bed of quinoa. The menu advised "loaded with vegetables". Aside from very little diced carrot and small pieces of broccoli, it was all quinoa. Again, I gave this feedback to the waitress and she advised that the kitchen said that because the vegetables were diced, they were very small. Actually there was hardly any vegetables on the plate and vegetables are probably once of the cheapest things to provide. The service was good but overall we were not only disappointment with the dishes but also with the poor explanations. No apologies or offer of an alternative. With so many good eating places on the island, we are unlikely to return.

The food was tasteless and bland at best. Childrens meal were 7£ for a “pizza” which turned out to be a piece of French bread with tomato paste and cheese. We came as a family of 9, including a young child and a dog, and had a fantastic time! The food was delicious - possibly the best mushroom risotto I’ve ever had! - with plenty to choose from. Even for vegetarians, vegans and gluten-free people, there was a whole menu full of options and for quite reasonable prices too. There’s a good playground outside that kept the youngster entertained whilst waiting for the food to arrive (which wasn’t very long), as well as the inside and outside areas both being dog-friendly. A very homely feel to the place, with welcoming staff and a lovely, spacious layout to the whole place, giving it more of a restaurant style than a traditional bar. It also had a little farm shop at the side, but we didn’t look much into it. Overall, definitely a place we would recommend and will come back to if we visit the Isle of Wight again!

First time we have visited the Fleming Arms for some time and had a really good meal. Staff were friendly and efficient and the décor was so different than our last visit. My husband had the Liver and Bacon which was served with mashed potatoes and peas . I had the vegetable lasagne which was probably one of the best I have had. The portions were very generous and despite being very busy (a good sign) we did not have to wait long. The menu's including the vegetarian one looked very good and there is also the "specials board". We look forward to a repeat visit very soon

After a refurb we thought we’d revisit for a Sunday roast. The place looks really nice and open, and the food was really tasty!! Definitely recommend.

We visited for a Sunday lunch get together with family. Every table was reserved when we arrived so I took from that it was popular.

What a lovely lunch. Everything we ate was spot on even the salad which was beautifully presented with a gorgeous dressing. The garlic ciabatta type bread was light and delicately flavoured with garlic and oil rather than dripping with butter as is done in some places. We were fortunate to be able to chat with Lucy and wish her well in her ongoing journey at the Fleming Arms.

We enjoyed a visit to the botanical gardens & decided to stop in to their cafe /restaurant for a bite to eat I must say that the views were stunning looking out onto the gardens , we were lucky enough to get a table on the veranda where a local choir were singing & it made our day The food menu is quite limited but there were a nice selection of cakes available & lots of unusual teas too The food we did order was delicious .. but they were small portions for the price ( I must admit it was one our most expensive eats while on the isle of wight!) All in all a great setting to enjoy a cup of tea & drink but maybe wouldn’t go back for food

This is a great 'out of the way' place to stop and have a quick bite to eat or drink, the cafe is set in the grounds of the abbey and there is seating inside and out. A lovely location on any day. There is a small menu of food available. Plus homemade cakes and hot drinks

From the outset the bar staff were friendly and helpful and could not be faulted the food was exquisite and the portion sizes were just right , the value for money was spot on. The ambiance with the view over the Solent as the sun went down was captivating Thank you Seaview Hotel for a memorable evening
