Not the usual menu, lots of different dishes to choose from. Very good service. Quality was superb, as was quantity. Excellent value for money too. Can't wait to go back ☺️
In all honesty if I could give 10 stars I would.
My lot came here last year when on a short break and I didn't have one as i was a snob and didnt like the outside. However this year I didn't mess around. It was delicious. Just as generous portions, tasty grub and well packaged. The girl on the phone was polite and knew her stuff. She was easy to understand too.
My 2nd pic was what was LEFT!
We arrived last minute with a party of 29, adults and kids after a football tournament. The staff were very accommodating and welcoming. The kids enjoyed the bouncy castle, and the food was delicious. When we come back to the island we will be definitely visiting again.
Booked a while ago for an Easter evening. Eaten here before a few times so was looking forward to it. Got an email reminder and two requests to confirm booking. Turned up and it was shut!! Apparently the new owners couldn’t get a chef so decided to close. Things happen so that would have been fine . The real shocker is the fact that they couldn’t be bothered to let people who had booked know beforehand (oh and the mailbox was full when I rang). Sends a very big red flag that the new owners can’t communicate.
Just had a fabulous lunch here today. The steak and ale pie was as usual, fabulous, but the rhubarb panna cotta I had for dessert was unbelievably gorgeous, my best dessert ever.
The pub was rammed - being bank holiday - but although we had to wait a while for our food the staff were great and the food was definitely worth waiting for.
Always a consistent warm welcome, great service and a good variety of beer. Fantastic food-a really interesting mixture including all the classic pub style stuff- but the real gem is a variety of Asian-style dishes not to be found on the Island. However the fish and chips is unbeatable.
We all had the pleasure of being served our ice creams by Keith on Mothers Day! What a delight and credit to your business this young man is.... so enthusiastic and with an abundance of personal recommendations on so many flavours and options available. He made our afternoon!
I stayed here with my daughter while walking the coast path. The pub is in the centre of the village and very convenient. The room was a good size and clean. We had the family room as there aren't any twin bedrooms. The bathroom was very nice, with both a claw foot bath and a large shower cubicle.
Called by hoping they were open, and they were, and fortunately it was very quiet in there as it is a very popular place, and can get rammed.
The service is simply excellent as is the décor, and the attention to detail, and far better than some other very famous local (Ryde) and mainland establishments, where the words fine dining are thrown about with no real comprehension of what they mean.
The food was top notch, portion size good, and value fair and reasonable considering all that was offered.
All in all we had an extremely enjoyable meal, and will return more often, but not in 'high season'.
Not much good food. On smash avacado instead of pickled onions they gave normal red onion and the eggs were not cooked properly even after giving specific instructions that we want it well cooked. The chicken of twisted club was chewy had to throw the remaining as it was not eatable. Fries weren’t tasting fresh and water drinking glasses were stinking. Overall ambience was good. Staff was good but just food not worth.
Stopped by the Black Sheep bar, and they weren't serving food, just drinks. But the drinks were good! Especially the Long Island ice tea and Peach Fuzz – super refreshing. 🍹🍸
