We held my late fathers wake here, The food was perfect 👌 a buffet for 35 people, All the choices we made were served beautifully, plenty to go round and even gave us take away boxes for the bits left, (well worth the money )lovely staff, Made the final farewell perfect. Gorgeous views and reasonable bar prices Many thanks 😊

The Folly is in a beautiful location. The staff ( Nathan & Max ) were efficient and friendly and made us and our little Westie very welcome ( dog water and treats ) . We had a few small plate dishes for a late lunch that were well presented, tasty and good value. This was our fourth visit and we look forward to visiting The Folly again. Thank you

We had fab lunch on Boxing day. Staff was very helpful. Super child/family friendly. Great view. We definitely will come back again next time.

We walked along the muddy banks to this jewel of a pub, cosy, warm in a cold windy New Year’s Eve. My wife and I shared the crew pot - a fantastic, smoky fishy dish that was both tasty, filling and hearty. The staff were courteous and helpful. The Folly is well worth a visit.

Really good selection of food. As well as including pub staples like burger/steak/fish&chips - also sea bass, scallops, risotto, lamb shank. Wait staff were super attentive and polite (thanks Sam!). Kids’ selection was also good (our two especially enjoyed the kids fun sundae full of Maltesers, celebration chocs and icecream!). Thanks for a lovely meal Folly Inn team!

Not bad for a Green King,food wasn't that great for taste value or options. The access rd is a nightmare.

i am a bit of a food snob but the meal was excellent in every way. All staff was smiling and attentive. Our waitress Jan was also attentive and was not over the top.It was so good we have booked and paid the deposit for next year. It was value for money. There was plenty of staff and even the crackers were good.

Had the most wonderful Christmas lunch at The Folly Inn today. Food was delicious. Hosts very welcoming will definitely be visiting again thankyou

This place is incredible and I genuinely had one of the best evenings that I've had in a while! We came as a group for our Christmas party and everything was amazing. The staff were all so friendly and chatty and actually gave service and wanted to interact with customers, pricing was very well priced, especially for drinks and food was delicious. Everything cooked to perfection and great portion sizes. Would recommend this place, and will definitely return. We watched Quivers, which is not linked to The Folly Inn however they are brilliant! Must be one of the best settings on the island. My vote for the best pub as well. We've been a couple of times recently, and it was busy both times, but it has plenty of seating inside and out. The food was lovely, great staff. If there was a competition for the best toilets in a pub or restaurant, it would win that as well.

Moving to Medina Park shortly and have had 2 visits to The Folly recently. What an amazing place ! Brilliant warm welcome Food hot and delicious , Sunday lunch was superb last week , booking again for this Sunday ! Deserves not 5 but 10 stars !

Amazing as always, food is superb and the festive menu is amazing. Opted for the festive burger and wished it wouldn't finish as it was amazingly good. Victoria was great as always assisting us with a smile and going that extra mile to see us happy.

Had a lovely meal here today with my family. Brian was a great host 😜 and Lee wasn’t too bad either!! Fantastic food and even better service, the Folly is a must if you want to have a nice meal in a lovely relaxed atmosphere with an amazing view too!

My wife and I booked a table to eat. Staff attentive and polite. Only one starter brought out wife's not known in kitchen! Main meals brought out and my soft shell crab burger was fine. My wife's Turkey festive meal was awful. Parsnips hard, Brussel sprouts hard, Yorkshire pudding like leather and roast potatoes not cooked. Now considering only about 5 tables were occupied you would expect a perfectly cooked meal. Absolutely awful, if you can't get it right when very quiet how you going to cope when busy. They offered not to take payment for the festive meal without any other form of compensation. Won't be returning as no improvement made from 3 years ago when our whole family walked out with the exception of the decor has vastly improved. Green King still bad

Jan was a superb host today. Along with the other friendly staff. We hadn’t booked but the staff at the folly managed to accommodate 12 of us at last minute. Brilliant service all round. Good food recommend to anyone. Will be returning!

Recently changed hands, well since we last visited the island but what hosts they were. Brilliant with the children and the food and service was top notch.

Excellent service, nice selection of beers on tap including IPAs. Very dog friendly including dog treat stations with bowls and fresh water and a nice little dog menu.

Second visit for Sunday roast. Absolutely superb. Great service and very clean place. Well done and keep it going

Another lovely visit to The Folly and time to try some Mermaid Gin, delicious! Even better, as I had the last measure out of one of the gorgeous Mermaid bottles, now empty I was lucky to be offered the bottle .... soon to be part of a gorgeous lamp. A nice out the way pub, restaurant along a very bumpy, windy road. Easy to park. Great marina views at the rear. Very large interior with a river view with a protected screen table and chair seating in one area and open in another. Lighting is very dull and a bit claustrophobic with low ceilings on the inside but a great choice of seating in different areas to suite everyone. Great food choices and very good quality, too, with lots of choice on the menu. Lovely toilets, all very clean and great decor so it's a big thumbs up for that. Very attentative service from the personable staff. All in all very enjoyable experience at the Folly Inn.

Amazing food friendly staff we will visit again

Having spent the afternoon at Osborne House, we needed some sustenance before an evening ferry back to Southampton. This pub was recommended... Catering for families with pets is not something that is done very often, but The Ferry does it very well. The service was eloquent, and quick. It wasn't too busy but was busy enough. The food... Well, that was excellent, hot and very fresh and tasty. And then there are the views over the Medina as the sun sets on another lovely day on the Isle Of Wight.

This is one of the cleanest and nicest pubs I have ever been to and the best pub on the island. The staff are all friendly and ready to help.

Used to be a great pub with simple food well prepared and a quirky atmosphere. The location is still wonderful, next to the water and lots of small craft activity. The service was efficient and welcoming. The food was fussy, undersized and overpriced. The atmosphere at lunchtime was a bit sterile and the music outside was far too loud.

First time visit to the pub. Staff were very friendly and welcoming food was of a very high standard. Would highly recommend the muscles.

What an absolute hidden treasure! After a day at Osborne House we looked for somewhere to eat and Googled restaurants near me. Folly Inn was one of them and we chose based on +ve reviews. The drive to it was long and bumpy but once you arrive you are greeted with such friendly staff, beautiful scenery and a welcoming, clean atmosphere. What a pleasant and unexpected surprise. Even the loos were posh! The food was absolutely delicious. I had the crispy cauliflower starter (SO crispy!) and the seafood sharing platter. Delicious! Friends had Hunters Chicken and agreed about the deliciousness!!! Starters, drinks, mains and pudding came to £115 for 4 people which I didn't think was too bad. Would definitely recommend, no need to book and will be back next time we are on the island!!!!

Excellent burgers and service with a smile

Frozen fish and frozen chips. Really poor for a by the sea location. Next day I had a fish finger sandwich and it contained more beautiful fresh fish than the Folly main course. Just not good enough,

Loved this pub. Had the best lamb shanks I’ve ever had. We had been in a race with CYC and the food was just what I needed after an exhausting day. The staff were friendly and inviting and when I asked for mint sauce it came immediately.

Great service food was amazing and coffees were perfect suited the day, even though it was not sunny the staff were shining!

Very best Green King establishment I have ever been to, bit of a track down the very uneven road but we'll wort it for the views. The staff were all very helpful and friendly, the food was very good also so I would recommend a vist, perhaps not in a low sports car if you want your exhaust intact.

What a fabulous location by the waters edge we were warmly welcomed by mine host the manager and staff this fine hostelry offers large restaurant indoors with great views with plenty outdoor seating very good food offering accompanied by wine,beers,spirit selection service was excellent as was the food,very good value for money this place is a must visit if you are visiting the island. P.S. Its also dog friendly with plenty car parking and a fish & chip shop attached

I made a wrong order that was quickly and pleasantly delt with. The staff here are excellent.

Came here yesterday for lunch with the wife and dog. We were greeted by the staff who instantly fell in love with Bella our Akita, we were asked if we were here for a drink and a meal, and then asked if we would like to sit inside or outside, as the view is lovely over the river and marina we sat outside. They even made sure that Bella had water to drink once we had sat down. Food orders are taken over the bar as most pubs do, the food arrived promptly hot and correct . The time here was well worth it, and will definitely come again. So give it a go.

Visited here today for dinner as it is pet friendly. We are on the island on honeymoon with our bunny🐰 Service was amazing, everyone was so friendly and Dale got so much attention and to top it off the food was outstanding. Will be going back this week for breakfast 🍳🥓🤤

Had a superb family lunch here, great service, atmosphere & food. Kids meals were a good size and selection. We both had steak which was perfectly cooked and delicious.

Nice location, helpful staff , food was good and nicely served I was eating alone so had time to watch how things were managed they seemed to have decent team leads and a particularly good restaurant lead. Waiter was interested in how everything was perhaps overly inquisitive and didn't really know what to do when I told him the steak was tough. I have still rated the food highly as everything else was good and the steak was well cooked , just tough. I will return.

We booked tables for a 60th birthday, on entering we were warmly greeted by staff members and shown to our tables. We had a lovely waitress Jan who helped set up and hang decorations. There was a large number of guests and we didn't have to wait long for the food to arrive and everything was delicious. Jan went above and beyond to help make the evening special bringing out the birthday cake and taking family photos. Highly recommend visiting and beautiful gardens and views to top it off. Thank you team Folly!

Love this place, plenty of parking, amazing views and lovely food! can't go wrong! Staff are really friendly and on the ball :)

Very disappointed, the food came quick, but all I could smell while sat at the table was the smell of the toilets. The door was wedged open and the smell was coming into the eating area. When I got my food, half way through eating I found two long hairs in the food. Not nice, that put my right off the rest of the meal.

Just spent a wonderful evening at The Folly, the first time I've been for a couple of years. Went with my Mum & daughter. Thought it would be a nice trip down memory lane, but it surpassed so many of the previous visits over the years. The evening we chose was extremely busy, but nothing felt rushed or lacking. The staff were attentive yet relaxed, exactly what was needed; made it feel really easy-going for us whilst the staff were all clearly working their socks off making sure all the guests were looked after. There was live music on that only added to the atmosphere, pitched just right, Ben's beautiful vocals & skill on the guitar never "took over" the evening, just added another layer to the experience. I've left there so happy & glad to see The Folly surpassing it's former glory & encourage anyone that had started to notice it being a little, to put it politely "tired", to give it another go. You certainly won't be disappointed. So all in all, a massive thank you to the new couple running The Folly, you've given it back to us in spades!

A very nice pub/restaurant bright and cheerful very clean ,we both enjoyed our lunch,no pressure to leave,The ladies room was very bright and clean.Our waiter Nathan was very polite ,cheerful and made us feel very welcome ,very good service.

Visited the Folly Inn with friends on 24.8.24 for x4 Full English Breakfasts, All meals presented were excellent, including the single Vegetarian option. So happy to report that the Folly Inn is now back on track i.e. after a number of years in the wilderness. Well done Victoria & Lee, we'll all be back again soon to try out your lunch /dinner menus........

Visited The Folly for lunch on 21/8/24. It is located down a narrow bumpy road but worth it when you get there. Location is right on river and customers come by car and boat. Lovely ambiance and decor. Felt as if we were abroad. Lovely eating out area and snack cabin outside. We opted for the fish sharing platter which was delicious. I will go as far as to say one of the best I have ever had. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. We hadn’t booked but they fitted us in. They also accept Blue Light Card so bonus for me. Well done.

What a beautiful place. Hubby and I went for the evening. It was so busy so didn't think we would get a table but we were welcomed straight away and taken to a table by the window with a beautiful view of the medina. We ordered wine and food and thought we may be waiting a while. We didn't wait long for either and the food was fresh and delicious and prices were very reasonable. All staff were very attentive and couldn't wish for more. We will definitely be back. Thank you to Sian,Harry, Max and Amy for taking care of us.

Popped in for a drink but stayed for lunch! Had 5 dishes off the small plates menu. Really nice and lots of vegetarian choices too. Staff were really friendly and welcoming. Ideal location on a hot day sitting under one of the trees watching the river. A lovely touch is that they have dog water top up stations inside with a supply of fresh water and clean bowls. Very dog friendly.

Sian, Harry and Vic were great for our visit the other day, we were a little tight for time because of the ferry, but they brought out the food promptly and service was impeccable. Food was Devine and was our favourite dish of the whole holiday! We went for their signature burger. Definitely recommend, is a beautiful location and decorated.
