First time going here and the Food was amazing. Staff were were kind and friendly. Definitely be coming again. Thank you for a lovely evening

Pretty quiet on a Friday night so not much atmosphere, food was good not excellent, service was good although a little slow.

Always amazing food, we have several takeaways a month and are never disappointed. We came and ate in with iur 7yr old son and again, all was perfect and really attentive with our little one. Beautiful food, great stafd

Food was lovely and the service was great. Attentive staff. My friend and I are visiting IOW, decided to try this restaurant. Very welcoming, we were also asked how we would like food, which was a nice touch.

Rubbish Restaurant ever I visited. owner was so so rude. he ruined our evening. Food was Rubbish and service as well. I would give 0/10 to this Restaurant.

Worse worse worse nature and behavior. He is forcing us to order main courses more than our eating capacity and threaten us to not take order otherwise. he is very very rude. he threw our order note and doing resist. I would not recommend this resturant ever. He spoiled our whole dinner evening.

Last day of our holiday and had an absolutely lovely meal meat was so tender flavours were gorgeous, service was excellent were very helpful and eager to please as we had a little ones with us, price was very good too couldn't fault anything we will talked about it for ages 😊

Asked 3 staff if the food was halal and they said yes, but no signs ect anyway & they sell alcohol. Food was nice, guy who served us said kids won't finish their food, big portions...& He was right! Not too spicy but could taste it, plenty of street parking and had a game of pool on the table as well. £50 for the food, could have been less I think

Great place! Really lovely staff and delicious food. Other places in Isle of white have lost our interest specially places in cowes so we looked further afield. This place has a good variety, good flavours and amazing naan! Well done! One star lost only for the Interesting interior 🧲😅

Friendly staff and fantastic food, family loved everything they had. Slightly longer wait for the food than other restaurants but the quality was well worth the wait. Couldn't score atmosphere as we ordered to take away and the restaurant was quiet when we arrived.

Words cannot describe how much I love this place. All members of staff were amazingly nice, and the food was the most amazing I ever had. All good was halal except for the lamb shank. I would recommend lamb balti, nizami chicken, lamb biryani and mix grill. Also the rice and naan was of amazing quality. Next time I come to IOW I'll be sure to come back again

Got a take away for dinner for 2 days continuously the food was decent and tastes good.

Person on phone very nice and driver was very friendly , however curry’s bland rogan Josh had no spice at all and was bland chicken tikka masala bland and sauce separated with a water and oil barrier surrounded the plate when placed on it sauces were nice mint sauce very fresh and mango chutney nice, poppadoms crispy and definitely fried to order, nam bread okay but could use some more seasoning in bread mix onion bhaji were over cooked and stodgy mix grill dry and rubbery

As a true blooded South Londoner, I've had my fair share of curries. From Tooting to Brick Lane, Hackney to Camden if I've been there I've dabbled in their Indian eateries. No curry house, not elsewhere on the Island or throughout the nine zones of the capital or even anywhere along my international travels has come close enough to even compete with the majesty of Bengal Palace. Sauces so flavourful, meat so tender and an off-menu option but prawn puri to die for... Tomorrow I shall return and I will feast, I can see it already, I can taste the Kingfisher - my love, Bengal Palace please never close.

The food was awful. Zero taste, Zero flavour. Our experience was 100% waste of our money and time. We ordered water but hasn’t got that. After delivering food there nobody to see us that without water or drinks with that horrible food we could choke. We ordered biriyani. No spice and herbs used for biriyani, it’s a scammed biriyani. Chef need to know what is a biriyani. Only oil and tumeric mixed rice. Don’t spoil your taste. It's 100% better to try somewhere else the Indian and Bengali food at least for a worthy deal. Very upsetting food and service.

Our mission is to eat at every indian restaurant on the IOW and rate them accordingly. We have already done quite a few and I’m afraid to say this has scored very low. 2/10 on our rating. The service was un attentive with the person dealing with us constantly either taking delivery orders or talking hands free on his mobile. As for the food, there was no care or pride in what was being served. Be warned, if ordering lamb, whatever dish you have , it will already have been tikka’d, resulting in really chewy meat. The best thing about the meal? The poppadom. No surprises its just received a very low hygiene rating. With serious improvements needed.

This place should be rammed, the food is top notch. I was only one there which was a great shame, but best curry I’ve had for years - worth the effort for 15 minute walk from centre of Newport. Knocks spots off the Tamarind.

Never fails!! Always have a great meal. Friendly chatty staff. Fresh cooked food, delicious naans. Happy to wait as each meal is freshly cooked. Would highly recommend this place. Doesn't look much from the outside or inside but the food is the important thing. Will continue to frequent this place

This is a vert good curry. Had friends over and ordered delivery. Came on time and food hot Curry was outstanding. A flavoursome curry not just heat, and cooked very well. This was a proper well priced curry. Would throughly recommend.

It takes a very long time to get any food in this place. The majority of the food does taste good, but there are times we’ve waited well over an hour from ordering just to be served anything to eat at all. The restaurant has quite a weird atmosphere, quite disorganised. The deliveries aren’t much better. They can take hours to arrive. And, if you go to collect, they are quite happy to make you wait just as much time PAST the agreed time of collection! Overall, the nice food just is not worth it.

Extremely disappointed by the service. The staff was too slow, we had to wait more than an hour for our food to even arrive at the table and no one responded to our requests or questions in a proper manner. Would not recommend going here. The waiters don’t even understand what we are asking for and ended up denying us something we wanted which we literally saw on the table next to us.

1st time ordering. Huge portions, plenty of meat in each item, The quality of the food is great, no grissle on the lamb. However even items labeled fairly hot were pretty mild, the chicken tikka masala was even sweet! Next time, and if you are ordering here, ask for spicy if you like it that way. Perhaps when you order, they should ask your desired spice level.

Every time we go to Bengal Palace we are blown away by the standard of the food. You do have to wait slightly longer but the food is worth the wait, cooked to perfection and exquisitely tasty. Gold standard. Wonderful.

Visited on 8th june 2023 If you are an indian , mention before ordering so that they can customise for you. I ordered chicken naga, cheese onion naan and garlic naan. It was spicy and tasty . Enjoy

The restaurant opens at 17.30 but owner and chef hadn't turned up for work.chef missed bus .owner was turning up about 6 .So gave it a miss as last we went we ordered food and waited nearly 30 minutes for them so could have at least for them to turn up as food was good last vist but not worth waiting until? Time .

Wow wow and wow Here from Bournemouth for a few days for work. Decided to take the walk from town which was 16 minutes. Think 16 minutes well spent 10 out of 10 service same for the food and the staff. Thanks for making our night great Dave chicken tikka tindaloo

Great meal with great service. We were the only people in the restaurant but a few orders being taken over the phone for takeaways. Have been a few times and would definitely go back again.

Worst tandoori I’ve had! Rice was bland and greasy.

This was our 2nd visit to the restaurant and it was just as good as the first time we went. The service was impeccable again, thanks Tony and the food was beyond amazing, again. It looks like we are going back up North permanently soon so we will only get to experience it one more time but we have recommended it ro everyone. Thank-you for, what is probably the best Indian food on the whole island

Really an underwhelming takeaway, we will definitely not be recommending this as there are so many good options available in the Newport area... Could have cooked a far more authentic spread myself.

Fantastic food! Especially the Goan Lamb shank and the curry made with mango! Love the hot plate that is given to keep food warm at the table! Lovely clean bathroom, with lovely decor. Child friendly.

Absolutely perfect. The meat was tender and delicious, the rice tasty and fluffy. The naans were fresh, hot and lovely, and the curries were fabulous. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 All the way. So happy to have found a great curry house in Newport, the others we've tried have been rubbish! The Keema & Chili rice, and the Tikka naan, what a surprise! Superb!

Honestly, it's great food, but it begs the question why they haven't implemented online ordering yet.

Always an excellent experience dining here, and great value for money on Christmas day.

Wow what a nice little find, a very nice quaint Indian restaurant which seems to be quiet when you pass but it’s amazing and the food is equally as nice, we got a takeaway this evening and the food was out of this world and far better than other Indian restaurants in Newport!! We will be booking a table for the authentic dine experience 10/10 highly recommend

The poppadoms and garlic chicken was good as a starter. Onion bhaji was rip off...two only for £4.5. Tandoori chicken in mains was good whereas biryani and curry was okay, not as tasty as expected. The portion size was not good as well. Not value for money.

We ordered food for 4 as a takeaway the starters were fresh and tasty. The lamb boona was exceptionally good and the chicken khari was very tasty. It’s always a gamble when you are on holiday choosing a restaurant , I can assure you that if your in the Isle of Wight and fancy an Indian meal this place won’t disappoint! Thank you bengal palace for a lovely dinner !

Staying opposite the restaurant so thought we’d give it a go and no complaints. Food good, service good and reasonably priced. Recommend a visit.

Very nice, normally had takeaways from here over the years whilst on holiday, but this time we went and sat inside and had their set meal for 4 people and must say it was very nice. Highly recommended x

We had a fantastic meal here. The spicing was spot on for our Jalfrezi and Madras mains. Everything was piping hot and excellent quality. We had the restaurant to ourselves which seems odd as the staff were very friendly and attentive. No problem recommending.

Very friendly staff and delicious Indian food. Visited twice during a two week holiday whilst staying 10 miles away.

We had not visited for ages as not sure if open. The current staff don't update Social Media and only use Google to publish times. Food was very good. Going by the amount of phone calls I assume their take away food is popular. They were telling people they had to wait at least an hour too. Our service was pleasant but quite slow, due to staff constantly answering phone. The phone rings very loudly so don't go there for a romantic meal. 😊 Only suggest you go if time is not important and if a family or large group book in advance to make sure they can accommodate you. I've added up to date restaurant prices as could only find take away on line.

I had never been to the Bengal Palace untll recently, but I had heard the food was good. The food IS good... once you get to order it and then receive it. However, despite booking a table in advance for 10 people, it took two (2) hours before they even took our orders. They served us drinks... and after about an hour we all got Poppadoms (though I suspect it was a delay tactic more than anything), While I understand they were doing takeaway orders.... given the fact that they knew they would also have bookings... they should be prepared to serve and accommodate the people with whom they are actually face-to-face. When it came to paying, I commented to the (apparent) owner - when he told me it was a £1.00 for the Poppadom, that (at a minimum) they should have been pro gratis... given how long it took for us to order and then get food. It is a shame... because when the food actully arrived, it did NOT disappoint. Again however... had I not been with a group of friends.. I would jost definitely have walked out and waited even an hour...one hour is bad... two hours is plain rude.

Ordered a takeaway at 7.30pm, told it would be ready for collection at 8.30pm which was OK, arrived 5mins early. 8.45pm had to try and find someone to check how much longer we had to wait, told nearly ready. Finally left at 8.55pm. Totally unacceptable, and to top it off the food was slightly below average, would I recommend, sorry but no I wouldn't.

Was alright, not busy with diner's but busy on takeaway and delivery, big choice of dishes but not quite spiced enough.

Folks...I've been going to the Bengal Palace, Isle of Wight for year's. Just had another takeaway after 2 yrs illness. Just the same. Superb food, bursting with flavour. Try the lamb chili masala. To die for. Onion bajees? Crispy outside, moist inside. I've never had a bad meal either or takeaway. Abdul, the owner is nothing but consistent.

Fantastic food excellent service. Called before to ask about delivery and they sent me a menu. Food delivered nice and hot with a friendly smile. Price was very good value for money. Highly recommended wil be ordering again very soon. Thank you for making my son’s birthday very good

This has got to be the worst place on the Isle of Wight avoid at all cost the service is beyond awful the Australian waiter was rude after 1 hour 40 mins we had still not received our starters. we was a table of 7 out for a birthday meal and there was only 2 of tables of 2 in there at the time.

Highly recommend this place. Again take aways busy but dine in quiet. Not sure why, we dined In and had a great meal, service was excellent. Definitely worth giving them a go. Would I go back - Yes

Although we were the only People eating here the take away side of things was very busy. What a gem of a place. The staff and service were spot on meal was delicious we will certainly be going again.

You will need to go a long way to find better food than the four different meals we had at the Bengal Palace. We were a group of four, ordering dishes across the spectrum, from mild fruity and creamy, up to a pretty hot chilli-based 'chef's recommendation'. Sometimes curries can taste roughly the same, but each of our four had its own flavour and character. The service was very polite and courteous; it was early on a Thursday night, and only one other table was occupied. Because of this and the restaurant clearly having been converted from a large pub, it did lack atmosphere, but it was more than made up for by the food, and was surprisingly reasonably priced. We are on holiday on the Isle of Wight, but will certainly return to the Bengal Palace on our next trip here.

This place was ridiculous. Had a table booked for 7pm. Restaurant was half empty. We didn’t get our food until 9pm. No apologies given even when we asked where our food was. We would have left if we didn’t have a small child with us who needed dinner. We were hoping to have a quick dinner and head home. The food when it came was nice. The portions however were small. We didn’t get offered any more drinks after arriving. We even asked for starters and mains to come together after waiting for so long but they didn’t. We won’t be recommending it returning.

Just had a takeaway delivered, the food was absolutely yummy and delivered within the time frame estimated. Recommend to anyone visiting the Isle and will be ordering whenever we are within the area. Cannot fault the food and after all that's what you want from a restaurant - Good Food. Thanks a lot Bengal Palace.

We’ve just had a takeaway from Bengal Palace and wow…..it was utterly delicious. The portion sizes were far bigger than we expected (we could’ve ordered far less and still been full), food was hot, and very flavourful. By far the best Indian in Newport, and...

Called in here on spec last Wednesday for a take a way and certainly was not disappointed, one of the best Indians ever visited. Ordered Lamb Narga and Prawn Madras could not fault it the sauce thick and really tasty lamb melt in your mouth,...
