Correo Lounge in Isle of Wight

The food took a really long time and it came out cold. The servers were nice and friendly, however the food wasn't worth the value and dishes were inconsistently brought out.

A place where great good, decent prices and fantastic vibes meet!

As always with Lounges, the food and service were excellent. The atmosphere was friendly and relaxed with a wonderfully eclectic mix of furniture and decor. One member of staff was very informative about the history of the building (and reason why the Correa name was used). The only downside was that the extractors in the kitchen obviously need attention and we came away smelling strongly of fried food, which was not very pleasant and meant washing everything we had been wearing.

Due to our life being rather complicated at the moment due to a 'moving' situation, both myself & my husband had not realised how quickly Valentine's Day had snuck up on us. As it was so late in the day everywhere official for an evening meal was fully booked that we had wanted to go to. So we decided to just go to Newport late afternoon at almost 5pm & see if we could get a place squeezed in at Correo Lounge (which we love) before we inevitably would be asked to leave for when the table was booked in the evening as we were sure it was going to be booked up. After arriving the manager (I think she is as she is always the one organising seating & everything else there) kindly found us a table for 4 even though it was just us - & said that it was booked up for 7pm & was that ok? We said yes as we explained the situation. We were just so happy to get in there. It was our 25th Valentine's together so it was a special day. And so nice to be away from the stress we'd been under lately. Anyway, it looked beautiful in there with the decor, the lighting which was lowered & the tables were all nicely spaced out & lots of tables for 2 set up. The music was excellent & turned up a little louder than usual which we loved as it made the atmosphere even better & the choice of music was great for us. The place was almost full & really buzzing with a great atmosphere but you didn't feel hemmed in with everyone else as we were all spaced out. We ordered a bottle of wine & then our meals. I had the Tapas which was SO tasty & my husband had the Nasi Goring with chicken & a side of chips. We had garlic bread with cheese as a side. Everything as usual was lovely. We've never had a bad experience in here ever. The manager spent so much time managing tables & people coming in & out & we knew our time was going to be up very shortly after a couple of hours. We really didn't want to leave as we were having such a good time. We both fancied a dessert but as it was 6.55pm we knew we didn't have time to get one. I called the manager over to say when did we have to leave, & we were SO happy when she told us that we didn't have to leave now as someone had cancelled plus she'd moved people around when other tables had become free so we could stay! So we had our dessert, some more drinks & it was a wonderful evening! Thank you Correo once again. I'm actually happy that the places we'd phone up were booked up as we had a perfect evening here for our 25th Valentine's :) I come here with my friends mostly in the afternoons so it was lovely to be there with my husband in the evening this time. We couldn't fault a thing & the staff were friendly & helpful as usual. I don't understand some of the comments above about them as in all the times I've come here, (which is a lot!) I can't fault anyone who works here. Correo Lounge has the most wonderful garden area for when you want to sit outside. It's like a little European haven out there with the decor etc & you'd not know it was there unless you had gone in before. Prices are fair for what you get, the menu is large & varied, great vegan, veggie & gluten free options (I don't eat meat) & the cocktails are delicious! I recommend the cherry Bakewell one if you like those. All in all I can't fault it in there & it's such a gorgeous space & I love the quirky decoration. 10/10 for the evening we spent here this time.

After coming here today, purely by chance, I cannot recommend Correo Lounge enough to anybody and everybody! The staff were all absolutely delightful, incredibly helpful and provided superb service. The food was divine, the drinks outstanding and all of it arrived fairly rapidly. Reservations aren't accepted for tables less than 6 people, however there were many tables available for brunch as the establishment is large inside and the space has been used extremely well. The interior decor was so gorgeous, very distinct without trying too hard to be "different", "edgy" or "trendy". Really beautiful art on the walls, the floor layout made complete sense and the lighting isn't harsh or blinding. They took allergies very seriously, which was appreciated, and the kitchen take it just as seriously. Overall, as said previously, I cannot recommend Correo Lounge enough. Whether you're popping in just for a drink, or sitting with family for brunch, I would swing by anytime!

The best in town! It's such a lovely place! Beautiful ambiance, wonderful food, amazing service and such reasonable prices.! A hidden gem on the island!

Went in and found that the staff were rude, one guy on crutches especially seemed to have a problem with our choice of menu. Immediately felt that our money was better spent somewhere that wasn't toxic.

The lady with black hair I’m assuming to be the manager. Her attitude was rude and disrespectful. As a manager of a restaurant myself i know it’s hard to deal with mistakes sometimes but you should always be nice no matter the circumstances. She was not, she was flat out rude, no disregards for how she was belittling us and her staff. I will not be returning if it is run by her. Should be embarrassed that she is the face or Correa Lounge if it was me I’d fire her as I would not want someone like that in my restaurant.

Interesting menu, good value. Good selection for vegetarian and vegan. Great breakfasts. Nice coffee. Easy to order on app, food was quick to come out.

We had a really lovely experience having lunch at Correos with the family. Staff were lovely and helped us with our orders. Nothing was too much trouble, great all round! Drinks and food was lovely

To be fair I am comparing to Ocean Village Southampton which gets 5/5 on all counts. Correo staff OK highlighted more by fact ambience in venue really not great. Don't get decor, if going for shabby chic they haven't achieved it. Numerous odd paintings on a wall that is made to look like plaster has been removed due to damp or mould. Food tepid but good apart from that.

Left extremely hungry after eating their butterfly chicken and my partner had same experience after eating the bang bang chicken. Portion sizes need to be checked as I don't believe a main meal should not fill you up at all. Staff are unrecognisable as no name tags or aprons to show they work there. The staff don't seem very welcoming or warming in nature.

met with the managers horrible attitude, presenting a beyond unpleasant lack of communication skills, general disregard for the customers needs, ignoring any way in which she could solve an uncomfortable mistake, which made for a horrible experience over all. will not be back.

Went with family and friends, had a great time, food was amazing with lots of options, staff really friendly and helpful, had drawing and toys for the kids, only issue is not enough children's options especially small portions for toddlers.

I didn't think the good was going to be fab, just quick - but it was really nice! I had a Buddha bowl - large serving and really tasty. Fast, friendly service and a good atmosphere too.

Service is terribly slow and all I hear is bar staff arguing about who's taking the order to the table. The decor looks good and the features around the place. However whether you order at the table or stand in the queue, the service is painfully slow.

This is the place to go if you're in Newport

This is a chain. There are more than a few around the country so I can only speak for this one. Menu is a little here and there. Not totally Spanish as the tapa menu will vouch for but non the less some interesting dishes. Drinks menu should satisfy anyone. Steve behind the bar will make sure of that.

Was a lovely place, first time ive been. Staff were lovely, and atmosphere was awesome and chill. I would say the food wasn't GREAT, but also was good. And for the price, it's definitely a good bet. Not like they're charging premium prices for it, I expected slightly more food-wise, but everything was nice, and far cheaper than I expected 😁

We went there to meet with family - there were four of us. We ordered two fruit juices, a latte, a pot of tea, toast and 2 bacon sandwiches and it cost nearly £35 !!!! The food was nice but was very over priced and not value for money. Not a lot of bacon in the butty’s and the smallest amount of marmite that only covered one slice of toast. Had been recommended to us but left disappointed ☹️

We visit here first on our holiday in Newport, it was super close to our accommodation and looked beautiful from the outside with big bulb hanging lights and hearing laughter from the garden just drew our attention there. Walking in was a great Experience, the lovely lady waiter was super friendly and welcoming. We sat in the garden and enjoyed cocktails and some tapas food. We ordered by QR code and had no problems in waiting for any drinks or food there. Thank you for a lovely dining experience 🙂

I really enjoyed correo lounge. They had good healthy food with veg and vegan options. Nice smoothies and drinks. The service was great. Everyone was lovely. I really loved the decor. A very cool collection of paintings on the walls. Old industrial upcycled lighting which gave a great vibe. Highly recommend eating here!!

This place is noisy!! Could barely hear what my friend was saying across a table for 2! The Quesadillas tapas was mediocre but acceptable.

Really great food and a fantastic selection of vegan food. The milkshakes, Long Island tea and English gin cocktails were delicious!

It was all amazing but the service was the absolute worst we ordered are food and the people who came after us got it first and when we FINALLY got are food we ask for some sause and the waiter said OK and just walked of and we had to get it ourselfs. And they forgot my drink.

It's such a nice place to hang out; the food is amazing! I sat here from lunch to dinner, working on some documents in between meal times. The staff is super friendly, and I feel very welcomed.

If you are in Newport, stop by here! The staff are lovely and always accommodating. The food is awesome, (even the salads feel like a treat!) There are options for restricted diets and if the conversation dries up over dinner, there are lots of interesting pieces of art on the walls. I love this place, such good vibes.

The food was good, a bit too oily I would say. I don’t grilled chicken was grilled actually as it was quite oily too. The smell inside the restaurant is uite weird but there are also seats available outside, I really liked the interior tho. The customer service is nonexistent, no once welcomed us and we had to go and order at the counter after waiting for a while wondering if we should still wait or not. And you can’t tell who is part of the staff or not because they were wearing regular clothes (not a issue with that, but I didn’t know who to look for)

Been here many times before and never had an issue, took my best mate out for dinner for her 21st birthday and was served with poor food and bad service We both ordered the steak frites and asked for medium rare, when our food arrived the steak was cooked on top but blue in the middle, our steaks were then taken back with no apologies at 1st. on arrival of the second steak we were blared with a “round 2” as if it was my fault the steak was wrong in the 1st place but to then find the other steak not cooked medium rare but well done! When the waitress could see we weren’t happy she asked if I was still “struggling” yes struggling to get my head around a place that gives you an option on how you want your steak but blame you for their mistake? As the waitress took my plate she walked off and said in a rude tone of voice “trying to help” but she wasn’t,there was no apology untill the manager came over and talked me through my refund, I’ve worked in hospitality and I work in retail I could never imagine treating a customer in that manner. Can’t fault the manager tho dealt with it in a respectful manner but could have done more will not be returning!!

Great place for Gluten Free and Vegan options. They have detailed menu’s for both dietary requirements. We had a lovely GF halloumi burger and a vegan tapas plate. Good portion size and very tasty. Via the alleyway you can acces the terras step free (inside there is 3 step staircase). Very friendly staff as well.

It was a nice experience I had with my friend. What I liked about the Correo lounge is the food. We asked for hot spice food and they gave it to us. The atmosphere was slightly too charged for my liking but overall, it was a good experience.

Me and my wife are staying in Newport for four days. Yesterday we met my sister who lives on the iow for lunch in Newport. We had looked round and frankly the choices were dire. She said she had been recomended to this place so in we went. It was a revelation, good drinks, good food, good atmosphere,good service, honestly i couldnt fault it, so much so that after lunch me and my wife went back there for dinner last night and again tonight. Three times out of three it has been excellent. We'll probably go back tomorrow for dinner before going home on Friday. Excellent all round, thank you.

Service very good and the food is reasonably priced

It is a huge building with lots of artwork inside. There are a range of sofas and tables to sit on and they did the most yummy iced coffee I ended up having two. The food looked amazing but on this occasion I didn't eat there's a nice rear garden to catch the sunshine also which is great for being in the middle of a town centre. Friendly and quick service and you can order via the app if you want

Staff are great but worked off there feet , i think the lady who served us is either Ukrainian or from the east she worked like a trooper. Also the bar staff are polite and well-mannered . The food is the usual gastro type thing but overall its a nice place to be and they should pay there staff well because it's a big place and full ON !!!!

Only had coffee and cake ,cake has always been dry ,I can't give comments for other food although what I've seen looks pretty good ,a shame about the cakes though ,certainly not home baked ,nice coffee .

As a regular visitor to the Lounge, the food today was very disappointing. I had the chicken burger with avocado and bacon. The bacon was very fatty, the chicken was tough. The Avocado was just a chunk not sliced.

An excellent place to grab a good late breakfast. Service was exceptional, from entering to leaving. Food was cooked to perfection, service was faultless and courteous, with rather interesting decor. Family friendly too. I would recommend and will definitely return.

Just ate a late brunch here. Shakshuka. Absolutely incredible in flavour and texture. My wife had a veggie breakfast which she described as the best she's had. Atmosphere is great, service is quick.

Popped in for refreshments while visiting family. A decent latte and tea, clean and modern décor, friendly staff. Am tempted to pop back for a meal at some point.

Food is superb. Lovely tasting Meat in the Burger, and juicy crunchy Chips! The Lounge Breakfast is also really tasty, with a good portion size. The Coke tasted quite watered down, but was still very refreshing. The restaurant is well presented/decorated, with nice music playing. The only bad thing I would say, is upon arrival, you are meant to wait to be seated, myself and my mum were just looked at and ignored. We therefore sat ourselves down, which I have no issue with, but to be looked at and ignored, I think because my mum accidentally knocked the door with her mobility scooter, is rather rude. Otherwise, all was well. Thanks

As a total impulse moment, we stopped here for a light bite lunch. Being a Saturday lunchtime it was busy and deserved to be. Great atmosphere and ordering at the bar meant we got our drinks quickly. We had a few things from the tapas menu and they were all very tasty. Took a while to arrive but as I say it was busy. However, there was complete honesty as we were told there would be a wait when we ordered. A real jewel in an otherwise sad town.

I had poached eggs on the brunch menu with bacon, very tasty and my friend had chicken burger from the gluten menu. Great place with anyone with allergies and lovely vegan menu. Cannot fault, we did not use the app went to bar and served very quickly by very nice staff 5 🌟

Been here multiple times. Food is good, the service has been great, sometimes a little disjointed (meals came out quite far apart once). The atmosphere is lovely, a huge venue with lots of seating but it doesn't feel like you are on top of everyone. Can cater for small or large tables. We were a table of 18, we preordered our dinners so the service was quick. Clean venue

Fantastic selection of food. Extremely tasty! Excellent allergen friendly menus too. Highly recommended for a nice lunch or casual dinner.
