Breeze in Isle of Wight

We sat 13 down for a post party Sunday lunch, excellent service, great food. Enjoyed it so much we are all returning with more guests in December.

Ordered white wine spritzer, with lemonade. Received a large wine and a separate lemonade. I would have thought the bar staff would understand the word spritzer. They have 1 vegan dish and no plant milk for tea or coffee. Service was hit or miss. Such a shame, used to be such a lovely place, catering for all diets

We come here every now and again due to proximity to our house I refused to go for years due to bad service but started again this year After this experience I will be taking another break Had an expensive steak which was good Chips that came with it were terrible. Every other one was practically raw They have ditched the cheese board so if you don't like sweet things there basically isn't a dessert option any more Drinks arrived after our food despite us chasing them

A lovely findwhile on the island. Stopped here purely by chance. We had great food and excellent service. Lovely surroundings. Fantastic fish and crispy chips, and beautiful fish pie with vegetables. Thankyou and I would thoroughly recommend to all.

We have been customers of the Breeze for many years. Great location and we have always enjoyed excellent food/service. So on Friday we decided to try the fish and chip evening special. Despite only 2 tables being occupied , it took 35 mins for our fish and chips to arrive. The actual meal was just awful. The fish had been overdone with batter - it was rock hard , nearly black with very little fish in it . A very disappointing evening. Please ,management - get this sorted . We will be back so hopefully thinks will improve !

Really disappointed. The past 9 / 12 x months ‘The Breeze’ has gone right down hill. We used to visit weekly with the children but even they’re now complaining about the food. We thought we’d pop along this week and give it another go. Shouldn’t of bothered. My daughter had mac & cheese which had no cheese / taste whatsoever, really bland and she refused to eat it (she’s five). I had the ‘Prawn Sandwich with crispy onions’ which I was really looking forward too however it was awful. The brioche roll was hard and stale, the prawns and crispy onions were freezing cold like the whole thing was taken out of the fridge ‘pre-made’ and served. Needs some proper chefs….

I wish I had read the review below which said prepare to be disappointed because this is exactly what it was! Staff are inefficient as mentioned in some reviews. She had to take our drinks order three times. This should have raised alarm bells . When our drinks eventually arrived they took our food order,no problems. Half an hour later the same waitress explained that there was a problem with their gas and that most of our order would not be available, she also told us that this was a problem ALL DAY! If this was an issue then why was it not relayed to us? While trying to decide what to do another incompetent staff told us the gas was back and they would try our order again. After 15 minutes ,guess what the gas was off again! We promptly left our drinks and went. What a shambles! They have so much young staff that have no idea what they are doing. This place has so much potential but I can see them losing customers unless they get their act together .

We have visited the Breeze on numerous occasions over the last 12 months Every visit has been a disappointment Staff who really dont know what they are doing and often dont seem to care As for The Food on offer Be prepared to be totally underwhelmed This place could and should be so good But unless the management is changed i fear it never will !!

There were eight of us who visited The Breeze today. The staff were great and handled a lively group of people with ease. The food was amazing and our meal was topped off with the Best Cheesecake we have ever had! Deano you are an amazing chef, thank you!

We booked for a Thursday evening and the restaurant wasn't busy. We attempted to order starters but kept being told our choices were not available. Eventually managed to order 2 starters and 2 main courses. While waiting for our starters my husband went to the bar and got more drinks. He informed the waitress which table we were at so they could be added to the bill. However it didn't stop her running after him waving a card machine shouting 'you haven't paid' He explained that we were eating and hadn't paid for the food yet and our other drinks had been added to the bill. She went away but it hadn't stopped other diners looking at us like we were trying to get away without paying. Our starters arrived and were nice. A waiter cleared our plates and asked if we'd like to see the dessert menu. We laughed and said we hadn't had our mains yet. So we waited. And waited. And waited. We'd been in the restaurant over an hour by this point so we asked a waitress where our mains were and she replied she thought we'd already had them. She checked in the kitchen and came back to say the kitchen hadn't done them - we had been forgotten. We gave up at this point - told them to forget it. We paid our bill and left. Ended up getting dinner elsewhere.

We went as a large family group one evening and found this restaurant a really lovely place to eat. Set alongside the marina it had a great view across the water. The food was plentiful and tasty. The team really looked after us all. The meal was good value. Would recommend this place.

Out in the boat today and decided to tie up at Island Harbour and have lunch. Greeted by the Manager who was extremely approachable and clearly enjoyed his job. Weather was good, so we sat on the decking and looked over the Marina. Good choice of beers and what I’d call a functional menu. Not pages and pages of choices, just a handful of starters, a handful of mains and some light snacks. I personally prefer this as you know it’s not mass produced fodder! We had Margarita Pizza and chips. Pizza was a good size, freshly made, nice thin base and very tasty. Great location, attentive staff and well run. See you soon…..

I have been visiting the Breeze for a couple of years and it was always one of the best places to eat and drink on the Island. The staff were always fantastic and obviously experienced. I went last week and it was completely changed. All th old staff seemed to be gone and in their place very young inexperienced people , which is fine but with no obvious leadership it was a mess. Diners were complaining about the food wholesale and they didnt know how to handle the complaints. I waited 45 minutes for a salad , desoite it being mostly empty and I know that others waited even longer. I saw many plates being sent back to kitchen uneaten. In the end we had to laugh at the amount of complaining we could hear, it was a farce and the staff looked totally fed up and demoralised. The menu is dire with most prices being around the same amount, who is doing the costing there? They used to do such a fantastic menu, something for everyone. The specials board that used to be full was empty. And to boot, we had tried to eat there a few days earlier but was greeted by a sign saying problem with the gas, so was unable to open, only to find out recently that it was infact closed due to bad hygiene in the kitchen after a failed inspection. This was reported in the local media. After years of regular visits, we will not return. Such a shame.
