Chose this cafe due to reviews but wasn't impressed. Only had coffee which was good however the environment is basic at best. Maybe doing cafe a mis service as, given the name, different try their crepe's

The food tasted like, it was cooked by someone who has worked at the restaurant since it opened its doors, and no longer cares! lose the kitchen staff, appreciate the hard working Front of House more, and get rid of the manager who has little man syndrome

Stayed the night on the island & raced my bike half way around to catch the ferry back at Ryde. In a hurry and Hungry for breakfast & being gluten free I was not overly optimistic about food, there did not appear to be any outlets other than the pier cafe. How wrong I was. The Pier cafe " Yes we have gluten free bread" ' Yes we know what time the ferry is" Not only was my bacon & egg roll gluten free and the service quick. It was delicious ! If not for the others I would have got the next ferry and had another.

Stumbled across this charming restaurant, located right on the seafront, when walking our dogs by Appley Tower - Ryde Seafront. We asked if we could sit in and have just a drink on the terrace, as we weren't planning on eating out. We received a wonderfully warm welcome, were offered blankets, and our dogs offered a nice fresh bowl of water, which was brought over to the table - very considerate. We were pleasantly surprised at the wonderful menu offering, which was just to our liking - the food did not dissapoint. We chose chicken kiev and coq au van, both of which had a wonderfully rich taste - the kiev, quite garlicky, which I love, so we'd say food was delicious and very enjoyable. For dessert we shared a chocolate fondant, which again, I would highly reccomend - gooey and yummy. Such a great little find, very friendly staff, wonderful location, excellent food, beautiful terrace, and all whilst also listening to the soothing sound of the sea, whilst we sat and enjoyed the ambience. Christmas menu looks great too, just our kind of food, we'll deffo be back soon - thank you

Looking for somewhere to eat and use for our regular eat when we are on the island and in Ryde. This will not be the place unfortunately. It says on menu 1/4 pound chicken burger. It hardly covered the standard size burger bun. Not worth h the £5.90 they charge and that is it if you want chips or anything that’s extra. Most of staff friendly, one member not sure if new but no idea how to process our order. The quest is still on for a nice place to eat in Ryde with our dog.

We have liked caulkheads for years but was so disappointed this time. Place didn’t seem clean, the food was awful - half the options/choices as before. I ordered a Cajun chicken which was swimming in grease. My sister had a burger which she always orders and couldn’t eat it. Frozen burgers not fresh like before. It’s obviously changed hands. Would not recommend.

No sleep because it was noisy all night and when the pub stopped being noisy (at 1:30), lorry deliveries started up at 4:30. So three hours sleep! It is pointless paying to sleep somewhere where you get no sleep!

Potentially lovely bar. Good service, good beer, but no food and in need of TLC in what is a glorious sun trap of a beer garden. A friendly locals pub with live music at weekends.

I’ve travelled the world, lived in Italy, and eaten pasta in places where they really know how to do it — but never in my life have I come across anything as disappointing as the “Spaghetti with King Prawns and Pork” from this place. Let’s start with the so-called king prawns — calling them that is a joke. They were clearly the cheapest frozen prawns you can buy, rubbery and tasteless. And then mixing pork with pasta and prawns? That’s not just a bad culinary idea, it’s borderline offensive. Pork with seafood in pasta is a combo that doesn’t work — for the taste buds or the stomach. It’s the kind of pairing that can leave you with serious abdominal discomfort. And to top it off, this bizarre creation is the most expensive item on their special menu? Almost £30 for something I wouldn’t even give to a dog. Honestly, I expected much better. This dish is a disaster — avoid at all costs.

Ordered mushroom risotto, goats cheese pizza and truffle oil fries. Absolutely delicious! The risotto was very rich and fresh, the pizza was great and very nice fresh dough. The fries were to die for too! Drizzled with truffle oil and dusted with parmesan. The pint of cider I had very very fresh too, I often find cider on draught a little lack luster but this was very refreshing. Location is lovely, watching the sun go down and watching ships in the channel. I was a little worried about how cold it was to sit outside but the tables had plenty of blankets at hand. Overall great experience and really good music on the playlist too.

The Village Inn is a standout, offering delicious food, excellent service, and a warm atmosphere. Lilly is absolutely the star of the show, always going above and beyond to ensure a memorable experience. Liam and Josh are fantastic too, but Lilly truly makes every visit special. Highly recommended!
