The food I had here was disgusting I can’t even give any stars due to this but has to put 1, I ordered vegetable spring rolls and had to ask a few times which didn’t mind doing but for it to turn up an be duck spring rolls is just mind boggling, I then ordered chicken chow main and egg fried rice with sweet and sour sauced The sauce tasted bitter an not like seeet and sour, the chicken in the chow mein was rubbery fatty and as far as I’m aware didn’t taste nothing like chicken I tried one mouthful and will be taking the food back their tomorrow as they persisted to argue when I rang and tried to tell me I just didn’t like the food !!! No it was disgusting for the price of meat on £20 DO NOT RECOMMEND
Brilliant pizzas & service. We had a pizza each, including a spicy pizza off the specials board that was recommended by the waitress. They even fulfilled my request for one of the pizza’s to be extra crisp! The pizzas were the best I have ever had. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough.
Chose this cafe due to reviews but wasn't impressed. Only had coffee which was good however the environment is basic at best.
Maybe doing cafe a mis service as, given the name, different try their crepe's
Best chinese iv ever had on the island.Food Is amazing massive portons.
Mrs Lee is always happy and friendly.
Really good Chinese that we always go back too.
The food tasted like, it was cooked by someone who has worked at the restaurant since it opened its doors, and no longer cares!
lose the kitchen staff, appreciate the hard working Front of House more, and get rid of the manager who has little man syndrome
Stayed the night on the island & raced my bike half way around to catch the ferry back at Ryde. In a hurry and Hungry for breakfast & being gluten free I was not overly optimistic about food, there did not appear to be any outlets other than the pier cafe. How wrong I was. The Pier cafe " Yes we have gluten free bread" ' Yes we know what time the ferry is" Not only was my bacon & egg roll gluten free and the service quick. It was delicious ! If not for the others I would have got the next ferry and had another.
Looking for somewhere to eat and use for our regular eat when we are on the island and in Ryde. This will not be the place unfortunately. It says on menu 1/4 pound chicken burger. It hardly covered the standard size burger bun. Not worth h the £5.90 they charge and that is it if you want chips or anything that’s extra.
Most of staff friendly, one member not sure if new but no idea how to process our order. The quest is still on for a nice place to eat in Ryde with our dog.
Been living on the Isle of Wight for 6 years now and we went for a walk with family and decided to have lunch , we all agreed on on fish and chips and have to say it’s the best I’ve had on the island , lovely freshly caught fish and you could tell it’s cooked perfectly and very generous lovely indeed took me straight back to the 70s when I was a kid and my mum used to get the large filets from the fish monger for our Saturday treat homemade fish and chips .
Sad day for me and my family. We have been going to Caulkheads for many years but last night was very disappointing . The menu was small whereas in the past it has been very extensive. The menu was a typed up couple of pieces of paper in a plastic see through wallet. There was absolutely no atmosphere at the pub and it’s was almost empty whereas before it’s been heaving. The food was of poor quality , none of the previous local produce . Burger was cheap frozen rubbish , used to come with coleslaw and side salad ,nothing now . Chicken skillet swimming in grease . Fish pie with no veg .very disappointing all round . Also very expensive now . As a local we used to meet often with friends here now we will be going elsewhere . Good luck staying open after the holiday season !,
Very nice place to have a drink when you arrive in the Isle of White staff very friendly reasonable price drinks all in all would highly recommend this little watering hole as first port of call.
The worst fish and chips I have ever eaten the batter on the fish was so bad my dog wouldn’t eat it 🤮 think they need lessons in how to cook fish in batter , they charged me £18.50 for a meal I had to throw away , so do not go here !!
I have eaten here before and the food was great. This time I'm afraid that the sauces were week with no flavour. The duck was undercooked. The veg was boring. The mixed grill was weird and we sreamed ?? No flavour no colour. Not good for the price !!
We booked last minute, pleasantly surprised to get such a for-value room with nice views and breakfast included in the price.
The staff were super friendly, the restaurant is dog-friendly and the food portions are large. Also the breakfast was absolutely ravishing, the fried eggs were the best I have ever had!!
