We rocked up for lunch only to discover that the pub is closed on Thursday lunchtimes. However, as we were discussing what to to the lovely owner came out and offered to open up just for us. Fabulous pizza and beers, all served with a smile. Thank you so much.
The Village Inn is a standout, offering delicious food, excellent service, and a warm atmosphere. Lilly is absolutely the star of the show, always going above and beyond to ensure a memorable experience. Liam and Josh are fantastic too, but Lilly truly makes every visit special. Highly recommended!
I had a voucher I wanted to use and went one lunchtime.
As I had the dog we could not go in even though the place was totally empty.
I understand that some places are not dog friendly but it was just too cold to sit outside to eat so we went to The Hare and Hounds where everyone was made to feel very welcome including Fido.
Having moved to the Island over 30 years ago one of the 1st Chinese I had was from the dragon pearl. We have eaten there many times and the food WAS always good. The restaurant WAS always busy, tonight empty. Didn't go for some time but the last time was about 9 months ago, food was poor. Having visited hospital tonight, on the way home decided to try them again. What a waste of money, food was tasteless, beef was mostly unedible(very tough) and sauce more like gravy. 2 thirds went in the bin.
To top it all I was told 5-10 mins, was more like 3-4 mins in which time I had to listen to the 2 young girls talking about contraception ect.
My advice to Dragon Pearl, time to rethink. Sorry.
We went in for food but they didn't serve food on the day we went in, that's fine we'll get some drinks then go out for food, we got a drink each and they both tasted a bit flat and dirty like the lines needed cleaning
We visit the Old World Tearoom and Gardens every year, and it never disappoints. This time, both my partner and I had the strawberry cream tea, which was absolutely delicious. The scones were fresh, served with Tiptree strawberry jam and Rhodda’s clotted cream—such a perfect combo. The tea was nice and strong and got a few cups each out of our pot. We also got the children’s tuna sandwich for our little boy, which he really enjoyed. The tearoom has a cosy, welcoming atmosphere, and the garden is beautiful—perfect for a relaxing afternoon. Always a highlight of our visit to Godshill.

Really nice place now so clean food great and lots of space for teens to play pool and darts
Two dinners had here now and food lovely staff lovely really deserve a good review
All we wanted was AFTERNOON tea!!
What is it with closing at 4:00pm in the cafe? Most people/tourists are out and about and fancy a tea and scone at around 4ish…
Not a chance! Closing, sold out, no staff….
Come on…..do yourself a favour and open at least until 5pm.
The cakes are lovely when you do get them but overall the service, or lack of it, lets you down.
The best homemade doughnuts I have ever tried, they were apsoloutely delicious, and such great value for the price, you could tell they were baked in store, me and my son devoured them.
Potentially lovely bar. Good service, good beer, but no food and in need of TLC in what is a glorious sun trap of a beer garden. A friendly locals pub with live music at weekends.
Went for dinner last night. Staff very friendly, good wine list. Steak was well done, chips crisp, but salad accompanying it tiny… fish and chips was great.
Now what was not good was the vegetarian options - only one starter and one main, and the risotto was half cooked. The place was not busy, and it was basically just rice, with a few peas. This needs quite a bit of work I suggest.
So in summary, good food, but if you are vegetarian go somewhere else I would suggest.
Very varied Asian cuisine. The dishes were very tasty and, above all, very hearty. The prices are very reasonable. We're big fans of Asian cuisine. I highly recommend it. The service is also top quality and very friendly.
